    The underlying gameplay is still so brilliant that it is painful to see it brought it down by obtuse and ancient systems that make the overall experience frustrating.

    Instead of ushering in a revolution for the strategy genre, Carrier Command 2 ends up feeling more like a prototype that needed extra time in development.

    I'd be among the first to say "but it's good in co-op" doesn't count for most games, because most things are better with a friend, but this is definitely one that's crying out for it, and developers Geometa certainly seem to be aware of it judging by the custom game option to have 4 sides and up to 64 concurrent players. I can see potential for more game modes too (certainly some sort of training ground for test flights and the like would be welcome), but I have to go by what's here, and much as I enjoy a good stretch, what's here feels just out of my reach.

    The bad:
    - Tutorial too short, does not show the real potential of the game, you must resort to community tutorials to learn how to manage some things.
    - No quality textures.
    - If you want to play single player, it's a bit stressful but you can do it.

    The good:
    - Multiplayer of this game is great and you get the real power of the game.
    - You have the option to take manual control of air or ground units.
    - The game has enough elements to be between an arcade game and a simulation.    … Expand

    Great concept, very mediocre execution. It's a shame to see a great concept get delivered in a bad package, at a pretty high price.

    It's single player experience is non-existent, and quickly turns the game into a management tycoon. Because of it's high price, multiplayer will be hard to achieve and there is absolutely no lobby system, and no form of matchmaking. The artificial intelligence is terrible and quickly runs into issues and on top: there's no tutorial whatsoever.
