I feel this would be better as an independent game, not a DLC. Yet, I can see it is full of bugs, specially in the dynamic campaign. ForI feel this would be better as an independent game, not a DLC. Yet, I can see it is full of bugs, specially in the dynamic campaign. For example, units will magically lose XP, even if they don't die. Setting that aside, the game is actually pretty cool and fun. Expand

I have a love-hate relationship with this game. However, I would still recommend the old Man of War 2 instead. The original Call of ArmsI have a love-hate relationship with this game. However, I would still recommend the old Man of War 2 instead. The original Call of Arms didn't interest me, and Gates of Hell should have been standalone.

The game has a lot of issues that border on unplayability, and they shamelessly release DLC in DLC. Infantry is not very useful compared to MOWAS, they're only good for defending points, even the most elite units die quickly when attacking. The maps look interesting, but the defensive positions (in the dynamic campaign) are poorly designed and located in stupid places (under a hill, giving the enemy a height advantage, etc.).

Vehicles get stuck on obstacles when moving across the map, and players have to manually free them. Constantly getting stuck, turning their backs on enemies, is ultra-frustrating. Tanks do whatever they want. I order a tank to shoot at an enemy tank, and it shoots once or twice, then shoots at infantry, gets stuck targeting units behind a hill, etc., and gets stupidly blown up. This game doesn't have artificial intelligence, it has unartificial non-intelligence.

Tanks don't know how to switch between HE/AP shells when necessary, and players have to do everything themselves. In the dynamic campaign, the direction of the attack should be revealed immediately during defense, so players can dig trenches and lay mines. In the last update, an absurd number of enemy reinforcements show up during an attack. I like a good challenge, but this is just unfair.

Although terrain complexity is a nice feature, here where units get stuck, it's frustrating and cancerous. The dynamic campaign needs much more attention. In an endless conflict, players should have the option to choose from all attack and defense possibilities, not just attacks on factories when they need research. The enemy should copy the player technologically, not the other way around, so players don't have to rush to Tigers and Panthers or IS2 and can enjoy advanced light tanks, etc.

And for God's sake, let me in defense right at the start spawn all units at once somewhere on the near points.

I thought the cotrols were clunky and it als wasn't a very unique game and didn't do anything new for the genre
