    Great campaign that re-uses favorite mechanics and incorporates new unique mechanics that enhance the overall gameplay. Solid 9/10 Campaign in my books, but I'd give a 7/10 for the multiplayer for its poor map design, camp-friendly gameplay, and bad meta (as of now there are only multiple viable guns, m4, kilo, m13, mp7, shotguns)

    Multiplayer’s customization quality and atmosphere of story mode achieved big advancements. However I understood why Russian stopped selling this game in their country. It’s too controversial and offensive to them. Also, expect unlocking modes of gun, there is no motivation to play multiplayer. Map design is catastrophic and awful, and even gun balances are not good at all. I think theyMultiplayer’s customization quality and atmosphere of story mode achieved big advancements.     You know guys? Yes, creators are quite politic, but if you have a view at that COD without politics and russophobia that game have quite a good story (i see all characters as a bunch of pixels) and normal MP. And yes, I am from MOTHER RUSSIA XDDD))) But I'm against of changing the History

    Its alright, its not incredibly by any means, but its a nice slow down and interesting pace. Some of the game modes are not for me, and that's fine, but there are many welcome additions.

    Game is really good. Any bad scores are because story of game is about bad Russians. But in every other aspect of the game, new mw is awesome. For real Russian people should stop hate game cause its offensive to their country. Its war :D Everybody is killing everybody.

    Fantastic game, great fun multiplayer and ok story.

    People do realize that this is a game and nothing political? Rating a game 0 because your a special snowflake which thinks the world rotates around your personal opinions, pathetic.

    Few bugs need fixing in multiplayer, else everything is great!

    You'd think after 16 years Activision and Infinity Ward could come out with something that isn't hot garbage. Well, think again. While this game is sometimes fun, hence my score of one, most of the time it is just a laggy un-optimized POS. I don't know what they were thinking when they were doing the PC port, but they messed up bad. The recommended CPU for this game is an i5-2500K. I have an i5-6600K. While my CPU isn't the newest one on the market, it is pretty superior to the recommended CPU. That must not matter however, because almost every second of playing this game, my CPU is maxed out. In menus and in game, even at very low settings, Modern Warfare seems to eat up processing power. This in turn causes bottle necking of my GPU, causing frame skips.

    The optimization of this game is just one of the many problems. Almost worse is this game's net code. More often than not, your shots will not register. Even though you see an enemy first, shoot first, and have a superior gun, you will get lasered instantly.

    I don't write reviews almost ever, but I am so done with this game. I want to dissuade anybody from buying this pile of trash. If you are looking for a realistic military shooter, I would check out Insurgency: Sandstorm. If you are looking for a more fast paced shooter, i would recommend something like Battlefield 4. It may be an old game, but it is very good and still has constantly full servers. I'm going to take a break from this game and try to go back to BO4, and see if it has improved any.    … Expand

    This Critic is based on the Multiplayer itself. Well like many ppl here it seems im not the only one who created an Account just to rate this horrific game. I´ve played it about 27h to really be able to rate it well. I really hoped that this COD was finally a banger again.A boots on the ground modern scenery.
    But we all know how it ended up! The release day was the worst in COD history,    This Critic is based on the Multiplayer itself. I really hoped that this COD was finally a banger again.A boots on the ground modern scenery.
    But we all know how it ended up! The release day was the worst in COD history, it wouldn´t even connect and after waiting 2h in the loading screen my release day was over i couldnt take it anymore.
    While continuing playing the first weeks there were a lot of things that annoyed me for example: the insanly loud steps that made it so easy for noobs to spot you and made rushing impossible, the extremely op weapons (M4 , 725 etc. ), the amount of campers, nobody was moving at all ( TDM basically never hit the 75 mark ), the insane camperspots the bad player abused to get kills. Another big problem were the maps. They were extremely boring , bad designed & had not enough variety compared to other COD´s. I still continued playing since finally the big update came & everybody hoped for big changes.And another time activision failed us by not giving us what we deeply want. They nerfed the M4 and the 725 but misbalanced other weapon , they didn´t nerfed the volume of the step as much as needed & they gave us another not needed battle pass with new weapons which started to be op as fk. So it was the basic Activision move, which they do every year. A few other negative parts of the game are
    - the headshot bonus dmg: that almost oneshot u with every weapon doesnt matter if its a mp or a secondary
    -the lean on mechanism: is the worst funtions of all time. it basically allows camper to increase their efficiency to another level. No recoil at all.
    -The OP overkill perk: compared to other COD´s this perk gives you what you ever wanted 2 full equiped guns at one time. its so unbalanced and so stupid. why would you ever allow that?
    -The creation of the rpg dudes: Ive never ever seen a COD with that amount of noobtuber. if they hit you and didnt kill you they immediately switched to the rpg ( they got a perk for quiker switching and reload time for the rpg ) and finished you. Its the worst behavior supported frome the game.
    -The spawns: we already been to rough spawn systems in cod ( B04 , Ghost etc. ) but this cod makes it even worse they eliminated spawn pushing and created a never ending circle of we push A they spawn C. We push C they spawn A. But its not the only bad example: they spawn next to you , behind you or in the same place at the same time as you do . Better example is the map shipment , its the biggest **** show ive ever seen !
    -The attachments: Every weapon has a lot of attachments to modify your weapon. Atleast it seems like, there is. They addded basically 80% of trash to the attachments. 20 different sights, useless stocks & specials just to fake variety.
    - Make the noobs happy: one of the biggest problems with this game is the fact that they made the game for noobs to enjoy it. Thats the reason camping is so strong. They added the aim speed factor to the game so you improve the aim speed to play aggresive while your weapon gets less precisise. the camper add more precise to their weapons because they dont need that fast aim speed for camping = outplayed.
    After 27h of playing the game im just disappointed & sad that my hope were once again crushed.

    Game keeps crashing... Sometimes dev error, fatal error, CTD without error message or windows bluescreen, wtf. Unplayable on my gtx 1080 and i7 3770k, win 10 with 12Gb RAM....

    That makes it for me nearly unplayable, I have absolutely no understanding for what reason the patches have to be that big EVERY TIME?! Even Star Citizen, a game still in full development, manages to keep most patches relatively small. The best Part is that you can not event Play Single-Player without make all the updates...

    Solid throwback to the days of MW and MW2.

    People as so butthurt over the Russians being bad guys. This game has its issues, but for so many people to rate it so low, its just stupid. This is a SOLID game. It's far better than Blackops7-no-content-experience.
    If you can get over how much you LOVE mother russia, this is an excellent game.

This game ran flawlessly for me throughout the beta and for about a month after release. But a couple patches in, I started to experience a multitude of crashing issues that got progressively worse with each new patch added to the game. And Blizzard refuses to give refunds to those of us who literally can not even run the game. What an absolute joke. This is the last time I pay for anything made by Activision.… Expand

    I did enjoy the game when I could play it but can only give 0 points when I can't even play it!
    The patches being so big is bad enough but when the patches break the game and make you download it all again is just stupid, and no real apology about it from devs.
    Now it puts me in server queue but when it loads it just gives error and quits to desktop, same for friends.

    There is bug everywhere. I can try to play it 24h a day and you might not get to max level. XP battlepass in not working. I tried support everywhere and no one respond. Activision does not have a engagement with the users. The only place I got some type of answer stop replaying and did nothing! images below.    Do not buy it!

    Spec ops: I'm putting the worst first here. Spec ops is complete **** there's barely any missions, it doesn't have much content so i dont have much to talk about.
    Campaign: Holy **** this campaign is awesome, it has an amazing story but some weird elements, one example of a weird thing in the story is when the highway of death is bombed by russians and not americans.
    Multiplayer: The multiplayer is awesome and brings many new additions to the table. Gunsmith: The gunsmith in this game has one of the most in depth customization i've ever seen.
    Overall Gameplay: The gameplay is amazing it brings many new additions such as canting and hybrid optics.    … Expand

Графика стала заметно лучше, здесь прогресс очевиден, звук тоже очень классный стал. В общем, визуал хорош, сюжет уг, геймплей всё тот же.Скажу лишь за кампанию: сюжет отборнейшая клюква, смешная и грустная одновременно (а ведь мы все ждали сюжета в духе первых MW, но увы), геймплей в принципе типичный для колды красивый тир, кое-где с элементами стелса, в принципе ничего нового.     Second thing! This game is probably one of the worst optimized pc games i have played all my life. It is so badly optimized for pc that its almost impossible to describe it. There are many bugs, errors, and the game crashes VERY OFTEN. And i thought it was my pc to begin with, but its not. I very often get an error code and then it crashes. And i have a very powerfull pc that is pretty clean, so that is not the problem. I own almost every COD game, and they have almost never crashed or given any error codes.

    So Infinity Ward, you should consider getting some new designers for the maps, and some new engineers for the programming...

    But this game and so many previous titles suffered from the same problems. As a gamer I feel like the community isn't heard on some matters. Some earlier games had awesome modding that made us able to play competitive matches in a totally different level. Now that is greatly hindered.

    And on of the biggest problem is developers unwillingness or incompetence to address the issue of hackers. They are many and always seems to find their way to public matches no matter the kind. This game does have report system but it doesn't really seem to help and there's no automated scanning/preventing of even the most obvious hackers. That's the main reason I'd want anyone wondering about buying this game the think if they are prepared for a such thing.    … Expand

    I bought this game a while after I played the warzone mode, which I don’t like that much. I just can’t see any battle royale game anymore.
    So if you just want to have fun with some friends and get that nostalgic cod feeling, this is your game. Unfortunately after one year the price is still pretty high which I don’t understand.     One of the best COD from orginal Modern Warfare. Nice jump in tech (graph, anim, sound). Super Level Design in multiplayers maps.

First step even purchasing the game is not a good experience. you need to online accounts from 2 different companies just to play the game, and even when purchased the game will not exist in your game library. you have to download a 2nd game just to play this. Once in the game it will prefer advertising the newest Call of Duty instead of pushing you to the game you just purchased.

    The story is also terrible. Almost instantly you are already told you have to watch out for Russians and gas. Then, oh look, there were Russians there and we killed them accidentally, what a big surprise. No tension, no suspense, no twist.

    to so boldly call itself "Modern warfare" when a far far far superior game called "modern warfare" already exists, is a gigantic insult to the series. It favour far too many scenes where you play as a security camera guiding people, or as helpless children.

    There is also a complete lack of control consistency. B is sometimes change fire mode, sometimes aiming mode, and sometimes select under barrel.

    The gun-play seems fine and the graphics are nice, the the story is either an entire rip-off of of events already well documented in media, and with little to no suspense.    … Expand

There was so many times in this COD where the match has rarely has kills because everyone is too afraid to move. When you rush there's always someone hiding in a corner or in a building.     The game heavily needs a redesign on the maps to fix this issue because right now it ruins the game and makes it unfun. I understand camping is part of the game but this is way too much bull to even enjoy by this point. Only one out of every five games have actually been true fun. The rest? People set up tents. It's a shame too. The graphics and design are beautiful but the Multiplayer is boring. That's the biggest problem too, that is supposed to be the biggest selling point of the game and it truly is failing.

    5 out of 10 in this state. They need to improve the gameplay and make it fun like before. This is just plain boring and a waste of my 80 dollars. At this point I find PUBG to be more fun. As soon as bullets start flying you get .3-.5 second freeze which means you die in this game. Not to mention overall garbage map design and map modes.     This game has so many issues with stability on PC, it crashes every session within 15 minutes. Game size is enormous - almost 200GB - and patches (50GB+) never solve any of these stability issues.

    I wanted to play this game for the Battle Royal mode (Warzone). It is so broken you can not even be in a gun fight. The game closes and even after several re boots it still does not work. Do not even try it.

    The multiplayer is mediocre, a campers paradise with no teamplay, you get punished for run and gunning and capturing objectives and rewarded for camping and getting kills for killstreaks. If I wanted this I would go play MW2 as it's maps are great. it will keep you entertained till you realise the games maps are crap. I was interested for a week or 2 but I'm now back to battlefield as it just plays better.    … Expand

Ну ок, война то в игре выдуманная,но где же "серая мораль" войны? Почему в кампании не показаны негативные стороны как действует американское правительство? Например, бездействие спецслужб при подрыве какого нибудь всемирного торгового центра, с последующей эскалацией конфликта на Ближнем Востоке и использование этого теракта для оправдания военного вторжения в другое государство? Или операции направленные на контроль нефтяных месторождений? Если вы действительно хотели показать "серую мораль" войны, достаточно было просто взять эпизоды из настоящих военных конфликтов и интегрировать их в выдуманный конфликт, показывая негативные стороны каждого участника конфликта.
    Теперь переходим к положительной стороне игры, это именно техническое исполнение:отличный звук, отличная стрельба и баланс оружия, интересные игровые режимы, особенно после добавления Warzone, могу даже добавить что кампания вполне увлекательная получилась.
    Краткий итог: геймплей 10.

    The most ironic part is that the dev introduced you to "Highway of death", claiming that "The Russian bombed it during the invasion, killing the people trying to escape", while the real "Highway of death" in real world was bombed by US allied forces. Like some comments said, "Americans being Americans: Blaming the Russians". The political theme is just absurd. There is no "both sides of the story" as mentioned by producer before game release. The game clearly depicts war crime as one side, and justice as the other.

    Multiplayer part. To be honest, this is probably the first CoD multiplayer I have ever played seriously. The ground war is just full of campers.

    Battle Field has longer TTK, and does not have kill-streak, so campers in BF really cannot make a huge difference. They are just some nails that can be easily dealt with. It is balanced.

    In this game, however, Time To Kill is much shorter, and there are kill-streaks that allow players to use all sorts of war machines to melt enemies. Therefore, the dominant strategy in ground war is just to stay in place, grab high-alert perk in case of appearance of backstabbers, grab a sniper or DMR, kill a bunch of enemies, and summon some missiles or VTOLs to melt enemies for your team. The mode is infested with campers, and that forces players to quit or become a camper. Especially the district map, the entire game just becomes Call of Duty: Rooftop Warfare.

    You can expect campers to snipe you from rooftops. You can expect campers to make a camp in an abandoned building. You can expect campers to stay next to an enemy point to kill new spawns. In BF, TTK is longer, so you have time to react, and have counter measures to deal with that. In this game, if campers got their crosshair on you, you are dead.    … Expand

    The story is absurdly simple, recovering a chemical weapon that blablablabla, the story is segmented into small operations that in maximum difficulty took few attempts to complete, and I must say that at certain times the game is a bit unfair, to the point that in realistic mode, this game feels like an Uncharted, where you shoot, hide, and shoot again until there are no NPCs on screen.

    There are many characters that literally have a line of dialogue, like Yegor or many others.

    Captain Price's charisma gets diluted as he appears on the screen, and it seems that only in the kinematics you can distinguish part of that soul that characterizes him.

    The gameplay has improved a great deal, with weapons now having a recoil that is erratic and more like the vibration of a controller than a 5.56mm rifle. (In my opinion there is no better recoil control than that of the Rainbow Six Siege). The decisions and little things like deciding to be part of the torture of the butcher, make me feel more inside, I just regret that these decisions are a mere circumlocution to offer me the same story with the same shots but with different lines of dialogue.

    Without a doubt the most enjoyable thing for me was:
    The night missions, no doubt, the graphic section and the dynamic lights have been a joy to play.
    The mission in the sniper's nest, the physics of the bullets were very good.
    And finally, the WarZone mode, which offers many possibilities both tactical and strategic, and the game is a real experience when you enjoy it with friends.

    I think I've been very benevolent with the release, I think the problems with the servers are unacceptable, and that the progress is based entirely on the hours of gameplay in "how much you kill and how extravagant", the battle passes are a rip-off, and it's just that you need to play for many hours every day to complete it, and I don't think that's dignified.

    The campaign choked me in many points because in realistic mode the enemies blow you up with two bullets, but still it was very short, excessively short, to say that the continuous story mode in special operations is very generous and that those are almost mini-games, wherewith two well-armed friends, the missions are a joke.

    Game makes CPU spike to 100% and barely uses GPU. In menu or in game this makes my computer a brick. Discord, Youtube, Spotify, NOTHING WORKS when this game is booted up. Not to mention it randomly crashes every second or third game. The worst part is the game is good and fun when it works.... it just doesn't work though.

    With that aside id like to say that this game feels like a really solid game and it has the potential to pull call of duty back into main stream. it has great mechanics that make call of duty what it is and infinity ward did great with it. It has great customisation and they’re heading in the right direction with the complexity of gun attachments, allowing cross play and giving the community game modes they want like ground war and gunfight. Obviously theres things wrong with the game but some of the community are basically saying its unplayable atm which is complete bs. Ive been playing league for the last 2 years so ive had no experience with aim, etc and im only lvl 24.... yet i use the mp5 and have a positive kd and finish top of the leaderboard a lot. Maybe im just lucky or whatever but it feels like the majority of the people saying its unplayable and too hard are just not good at COD Or cant adapt well. Like r u used to call of duty???? Theres always a*ds things killing u ,thats call of duty , you have to learn how to play against it. Obviously there are things that need to be patched, 725 range change, fix claymores, some spawns need changes, mini map changed back too normal and a slight m4 nerf. Why are we so focused on this though? Activision finally give us a good call of duty and all this subreddit is is complaining and complaining. Like yeah the devs need to hear whats wrong rn, BUT WHY ARENT WE CELEBRATING???? Finally we have a COD the community wants and the pc support and crossplay is great since a lot of us have grown up and moved to pc. One thing I would really like to see is a ranked becoming more popular in COD. League has had such success because of esports. COD has a massive fanbase so activision should really push esports and twitch. My only major problem ive had is that my game has been lagging ( I have a gtx 1070, easily should run COD)ive had to turn all setting to low and go into my computer properties to help more with the lag. How the f*ck does a ps4 run a game better than a computer with a gtx 1070 intel-i5 8th gen cpu and an ssd its bu11sh1t i cant even use my 144hz moniter cos it crashed when i tried to use it at 144hz. If any of u on pc can help that would be much appreciated.

    This game has a pretty good campaign when it works which I would give an 8/10 had I been able to play it properly from start to finish. The issue, however, in this game is the terrible cutscenes in between missions that don't play properly. They stutter and buffer from start to finish and I had to quit the campaign and watch it in the menu just to see what the context was each mission. I had to wait days to even start playing it because the game would keep crashing all the time in the same spots. Price is still pretty cool.

    The multiplayer however is very bad compared to the classic games that this game is trying to appeal to. The new maps specific for this game are for the most part seem fine but the main thing that trashes everything is this the horrendous respawns. You can literally be killed and spawn in front of the same enemy that kills you sometimes. This creates a big issue with the way a vast majority of people play the game and that's camping. So the way people used to play the previous games was using the keyboard and pressing the forward key (w) but in this game, you get punished for doing that because of horrific spawns. You get spawned far too close to enemies most of the time depending on the map and it really makes you want to stay still cause they will simply walk around the corner and you can kill them. The servers as well are really laggy and you'll end up rubberbanding so often.
    If these developers ever decide to fix the spawn locations where you spawn away from the enemies regardless of where your team is then I'll consider this a decent game that I'd recommend to people. Otherwise this doesn't capture the magic of why I loved the modern warfare series at all.

    The maps also need more flanking routes in order to eliminate the problem of campers. The maps need to encourage people to get up and move otherwise they should just make more maps like shipment and rust which are just cluster ***** but fun and equal for everyone. Basically, story is ok, multiplayer is not ok at the moment.    … Expand

    Gameplay Is nice on a high end system and graphics in campaing look amazing with RTX, but the game is very badly optimized for people using older hardware. Some have said It runs just fine while others say it's barely playable. Campaing story fell short from what I had hoped.
    All and all a divisive game.

    This game is 95% unplayable. It has the worst trash ass piece of **** servers you could ever imagine. You will constantly have enemies teleporting across the screen, you get killed by enemies before they even appear on you screen, you can’t shoot enemies because of lag.

    I changed the review, because earlier I had the opinion that the game exists only for campers, time passed, I studied the maps, now everything is fine, campers are extinct.

    I also liked the tactical component, I used to only rush in the previous parts, now I like to use cards to my advantage, it's nice, and the aiming speed is not a problem, when I pumped the gun, it could easily accelerate the aiming with modules.

    it’s bad that there is no browser of servers, and dedicated servers, I do not want to play with ping 60>, because of this 6/10

    The campaign is great, but far too short, spec ops is an absolute joke in every way imaginable and the multiplayer goes back and forth between being a ton of fun and an absolutely miserable God awful bug ridden experience that will make you question why you ever bothered playing this game past the first hour, the latter more frequently than the former.

    Minus one point for many minor bugs and glitches and minus another for terrible UI. Other than that, a great game! BTW Don't get fooled by the russbots. This game has Russian bad guys, true, but has US bad guys as well, and arguably they're even worse.

    If you wanna play for the campaign wait the game to be like 10 bucks as it is like 8-10 hours long on Veteran. As for MP the devs just said F you to the players that played their games for years. I had every cod beside Infinity Warfare and BO4 and this is without a doubt the worst experience of a MP I had ever had. In    i only made this account so I can say how utterly **** is this game.

    This should have been named Modern Campfare or Camping simulator.

    Just don't buy it, **** them, this is the last COD that I play, if they don't give a **** and won't either.

    Modern Warfare is not a stellar game, but decent first-person shooters about modern conflicts are so few and far between that it’s surprisingly satisfying.
