A awesome FPS, lots of adrenalin and reflex booster combats, but in resume it's the same CoD ever, just another name... That's all. A must have to any CoD fan...

Bored instantly, no innovation. a few games of multiplayer were okay, yet so similar to mw1 let alone 2... how can they resell the same game three times? it's basically a map pack for mw2! Shocking waste of cash, its like they twiddled their thumbs between release dates and reskinned a few bits and piecies to stop boredom creeping in....

Stop rating the innovation. Now stop comparing bf3 to MW3 (cause are different styles of cames [arcade, realistic]). Ok, now the game deserves 9. Its funny. The game is the most played game in PSN, LIVE and steam (losing only to elder scrolls 5), and got THIS amout of negative reviews. too many haters?

Modern Warfare 3 does not deserve an average user score of 2 out of 10. No way. To be honest, it wouldn't deserve an average user score of anything less than 6 out of 10.

It's not a great game, but it's most certainly a good game, and unlike Battlefield 3, there's heaps on the disk for gamers of all types to get stuck into. While it's admittedly a little short, the campaign is a great ride - plenty of "woah" moments. Spec Ops doesn't just have missions now, it's also got an awesome new Survival mode, playable on all of the multiplayer maps. Throw in decent multiplayer with new modes to keep it fresh, and there really is something for everyone.

Granted, it could use a new engine, but then, with the 360 and ps3 on their last legs, they may be better off waiting for new hardware anyway. As far as comments regarding a lack of innovation are concerned, that's something you could criticise most FPS's for.

An average of 2 out of 10? No way. Anywhere from 5 to about 9 is about right, to be fair.

After a disappointment in world at war I bought modern warfare 2 in high hopes that it would be a worthy sequel, which it kind of was...it added many features tightened the multiplayer and continued the story. I was willing to overlook the fact that it was ALMOST the same game, they were coming dangerously close to over saturating the series. Inevitably this happened a year later with black ops which was pretty much a clone of all that had been done before. After all this nonsense we hoped for a glimmer, modern warfare 3...a game which we all hoped would live up to the legacy. Unfortunately all modern warfare 3 really is is and exact replica of all that made up modern warfare 1 and 2. Nothing truly original was added to the experience. Activision has gotten all kinds of greedy. Forcing out games yearly at a full retail price knowing full well they are selling an unworthy product...not taking into account whether or not the consumer is getting what they paid for. The fact that the fans will buy it is apparently enough to justify tossing together some explosions and new maps and putting a new number on the end. All I ask is why? I am not a fan boy of one gaming device or the other, or one gaming series or another, just someone who doesn't understand why this is not only acceptable to you fans, but you will actually defend the games quality. Nothing is truly different about this game then the other major call of duty releases every year since 2007, nothing was stopping them from releasing small packages, more maps, more modes...nothing. Instead they put together not an inferior product, but a slap in the face. All of this has been done before. I've bought this before. You've bought this before. Before you think of buying this garbage and support these publishers who think it's ok to take advantage of loyal fans...think of what you could do to force them to make a modern warfare game that truly lives up to the standards of todays games. Was this much of a review? Not so much...not a rant either. I just want people to realize that the graphics are outdated, story still generic, game play rough, sound poor, and multiplayer virtually unchanged not because they can't but because they wont. Take a stand. Play your last call of duty if you have to a little longer until they see they can't treat people like dirt anymore. If you read this far I hope you see where I'm coming from and live up to my hopes that we will one day see a modern warfare 4 WORTH praising, not this thrown together mess, thank you. It is surely not worth the $60 price tag if you already own MW2, and the graphics were showing their age in MW2, and now they look downright terrible. I do find it impossible to compare this game to Battlefield 3, because the two games are completely different styles. (I own both.) This game is your average CoD game, fun because of how easy it is to pick up, and the singleplayer is exciting and intense. If MW2 had never existed, this game would definitely be worth the $60, but just as basically a map pack for MW2, it still has room to stand on it's own and is pretty enjoyable in my opinion. Expand

But like all Micheal Bay films it lacked a coherent story and if this is your first Modern Warfare Call of Duty game then you could care less about the characters. Only thing I'm content with about this game is that it is finally over. The series was wrapped up as sloppy as possible but at the very least the story was concluded. As for the multiplayer aspect of this game, on PC it is beyond horrendous. There are dedicated servers which is a step up from Modern Warfare 2 but they are unranked. Meaning that you can't level as you would a ranked matched game. So it takes out the whole point of playing on a dedicated server unless you want to get away from the hackers. Oh boy there are a lot of hackers in this game. 7 out of 10 games feature at least 3-4 hackers. Ranging from wall hacks to aim bots even rank hacks. How could someone prestige to the 10th tier if the game has been barely out a month? What's even more disappointing is the ranked matches are horrible done. If your host you most certainly get the jump on everyone and have the higher score at the end of the round. Assuming of course the match isn't filled with hackers.

Overall this game is somewhat mediocre. No innovations and not even better graphics. Same engine and same gameplay. It is the last MW3 in the saga and thank goodness for that.

Just like black ops, this is a game you fire up but don't enjoy. MW2 built on COD4 and even without dedicated servers, it was still ridiculously fun and challenging. Killstreaks don't make any sense in MW3 - you can die 10 times with minimal kills and still call in stealth bombers. If you're a sniper, forget it. The only reason I'm not still playing MW2 is because Black Ops and MW3 have killed it. If IW could at least re-release the old maps (without ridiculous DLC prices) I might start to enjoy the game.

The bottom line is, MW3 is everything MW2 was, but every good aspect has been replaced with something worse. The loss of stopping power is frightfully irritating - a reminder of how tedious it is to kill others in Black Ops. If you like COD4 and MW2, you won't like this game. If you have never played Call of Duty, now is certainly not the time to start.

I'm currently thinking WHAT kind of purpose would be to rank up on a dedicated server... HM I GET IT NOW, SO YOU ALL **** WAREZ VERSION OWNERS CAN USE ALL FEATURES OF THE GAME. WELL, NO U DON'T
    - I saw that many of you wanted to have a custom POV angle setting, well that would be some feature for the hardcore games but I don't get it, if you are hardcore cod multi players, why do you want to have ranking on dedi. servers(to get back to the prev. question again). If I would be a hardcore cod clan multi-player then I would want all the available guns and features immediately to train for wars and well, the dedi. servers give you this choise... Just again a minor point to show you all metacritic people that the 0-10 point reviews all are bunch of **** and childish flame.
    - Graphics: no change from the previous version as I saw, but i am noob in this game so this is something new for me, i don't care. Hardcore multi-gamers should not aware this thing either...
    - Multiplayer - fairly lot of changes as I see after i read and heard things from friends and blogs about mw2. Fairly enough content, lots of stages and coop missions
    - Single: adrenalin pushing content, unluckily I am now in the middle of a story and I don't know some things back in the MW2 but who cares. The only thing which is bothering me and is confusing that the story is about lots of different soldiers, we are jumping between these places and to tell the truth I can't totally feel myself in the story in this way. And to point on the haters' POV, most of them just throwing here a "single is **** phrases, I think this is totally not enough review of the content ;-)
    - Sounds: thrilling

My POV tells a 9 point of 10 for this game, but I would give a 7 if i would be a cod fan: 80% would be a fair point and I would minus down 10% for disappointment: content reusage is so high in this game that this is some kind of DLC of MW2 and not a new game

The game in and of it's self is solid, but there is still an apparent lack of innovation, the campaign as always, pretty epic, but the multiplayer really doesn't add anything new, if anything it takes features that were established in Black Ops, a currency based staggered unlock system meant you could unlock what ever you felt fit your play style straight away, rather than waiting for it.The game in and of it's self is solid, but there is still an apparent lack of innovation, the campaign as always, pretty epic, but the multiplayer really doesn't add anything new, if anything it takes features that were established in Black Ops, a currency based staggered unlock system meant you could unlock what ever you felt fit your play style straight away, rather than waiting for it. The PC release is rather sloppy, bugs plague it, we get stuck with IWnet if we want to earn those shiny unlocks, it's pretty poor. While these things can be added down the track, I'm not entirely sure it will happen if only because in 12 months time a new Call of Duty will hit store shelves and they will want us to fork out another $100 minus cost of DLC. If pricing wasn't so terrible in Australia I wouldn't complain, but I would like to get my moneys worth out of a game not feel ripped off. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly let me say i am extremely disappointed that this is the highest earning piece of entertainment in our civilization. This is like Justin Bieber and Twilight as they are to music and movies respectively.
They throw crap at you and they still make a ton of money every year, the reasons for which are beyond my comprehension.
I still remember playing the first Modern Warfare and being blown away by it. It was a breath of fresh air in the WW2 shooter infested era. That unfortunately was also the last FPS experience i have enjoyed.
This game just goes on to show how much they have run out of ideas. The engine appears superbly dated and not worth running on a good rig, let alone warrant the full 60 dollar price. I am atleast glad they finished the story once and for all. A lot of ideas have been overused here , the slowmo breaching of countless rooms, following Capt.Price in stupid missions where the AI is so blind they'd walk over you and still not be able to spot you. Most of the missions here start off stealthily and end up becoming long and boring corridor sequences either in a street or a building. The layouts of the environment haven't changed much since the first game in the series and they have overused the idea of killing playable characters gradually over the sequels. The protagonist of the series spends more time on his deathbed in this title and it would have been nice to keep him alive as the series ended. I have to say this is the worst game in the series and the critic reviews just goes to show how you cannot trust these sites these days. How can this game get such a high score. But this series isn't meant for the SP experience and we are yet again given the same experience with micro tweaks and modes. Activision has suffered creatively since the core team left Infinity Ward to form Respawn entertainment and this clearly shows in the game. If you own a decent rig and like FPS, then the game to buy would be BF3 (even though it has its own set of issues). This is definitely a console FPS (yes they should call it this).
The recoil in a weapon is barely present and the gameplay style is more lonewolf oriented. It is disturbing to see how low the series has gone over the past 2 games. Bottom line : Don't buy this so Activision can stop throwing the same crap at us year over year.
Now that this game has been laid to rest , i am looking forward to some innovation from their side for the inevitable COD-9 slated for 2012 holiday season.

I'm actually going to write a review against all negative critics.
I have been playing COD franchise since COD1. I bought all COD but this time I thought it is time to switch to BF3. After watching both reviews on GT, BF3 scored 9.2 and MW3 scored 9.3. That little 0.1 made me change and I decided to buy MW3 instead. So why am I giving a 10/10 for MW3? Here is why:
    COD4 was a huge success

That little 0.1 made me change and I decided to buy MW3 instead. So why am I giving a 10/10 for MW3? Here is why:

COD4 was a huge success and I have to say it was really my first FPS I got addicted with and played COD4 for 1500 hours. COD4 was great and finally a GOOD welcoming change after CSS, Quake, Wolfenstein and TF engines. I remember though at that time people wanted to go back to WW2 style. So Treyarch decided to make WaW which ended up to be a pure disaster. Finally MW2 came out! Although it was a great game, lack of dedicated servers on PC did not make me want to play MW2 a lot. Therefore Treyarch then decided to release BLACK OP re-installing previous dedicated servers.

I have to disagree with 85% of negative critics posted here. It is true that MW3 resembles a lot to MW2 but who cares? seriously? I know the franchise has been releasing a game every year? Get it over it lol again who cares? If they want to make money let them be! MW3 is, to me, an awesome game. I started it and I got addicted instantly. MW3 combines all previous years of experience this franchise has gained from COD4, WaW, MW2 and BLACK OP. Guns are really good, I haven't tried all of them yet - but so far rifles are well balanced. SMGs are SMGs. Melee got nerfed slightly to make it more realistic and finally many perks have been reviewed, changed and unlike in BLACK OP, akimbos are now only secondary guns. I am relieved to not see P90 akimbos anymore.

As you would expect, MW3 maps are truly well designed. Although there are a lot of openings - you can't really "own" a map as MW3 is based on fast-pace style. It is good (gives new players the opportunity to kill and respawn is almost instant) and bad (for veteran players, it can be sometimes very frustrating - veterans can be killed from any corners)

I am also very happy that Infinity Ward has introduced a whole new system in MP that allows you to level up a gun. I also enjoy new perks that can make you invisible to Air Support/Choppers.

Finally, perhaps it is only me but I feel like MW3 really learnt from MW2 mistakes and Auto matchmaking on MW3 is fairly solid. The engine is really consistent.

New modes such as Survival and Co op mission are really great! See I never really liked Co op mission. But MW3 made me change my opinion! Also if you are a "zombie-fan-kid" like I was in BLACK OP, you will love the survival mode Infinity Ward has introduced in MW3.

    In addition to people's critics:
    1. No real innovation? I don't think so, I think there is when it comes down to perks, guns etc. Although it is minimal it doesn't really bother me like most raging kids.
    2. Another cash? LOL so what? seriously who cares?
    3. Bored of Campaign? At first I was very excited about MW3 SP, but the more you play the more bored you get. Why? Because you try to finish the game in 7 days. I'm pretty sure if you space out your gameplay you won't find Campaign as boring as most people think. It took me 8hrs to finish Campaign on Veteran mode.
    4. MP is exactly the same as in MW2? Yea pretty much and I'm happy about it. BLACK OP wasn't much for me. Im more an Infinity Ward fan.

Anyways, the Sp portion of the game is in no way, shape or form boring. It is as exciting as ever and thety did alot of very cool things, like the under water part of getting on the sub and the level with the sand storm coming in. Took me a little longer to beat this one than the last one. Loved it. Graphically, very good as always. Not stellar but very good. You also have Special OPS which gives you many more hours of intense action and fun. As for the MP, they made some nice changes which I really liked and some things I don't like which is why it doesn't get a 10 or even a 9 from me. I have had no lag problems, but on PC, we only get to play 12 guys per map. That is just stupid. And the maps are so small that when you drop in a pkg, 1/3 of the time its is stolen. Also, every time the host leaves, you have to wait till they find another one. And deaths count against you if you get tk'd. Thought the MP was gonna improve after the improvents on Black-OPS, but guess not. Overall, a good game, but not perfect.

Recently though with my age as well I have stop playing this game more and more... I am no fanboy of any franchise, I play what I like. I don't mind rehashed games, because I felt the MW2 engine was almost perfect. It was fast-paced, easy to learn, but hard to execute correctly without extensive amounts of practice. I got a story line, a dozen new maps, new guns, old guns reworked, and more ideas. So as far as the 60 dollars go, if you like FPS its worth it; even though you can get more bang for you buck picking up BF3 or even Skyrim( B&A ADS OP). I voted this a 3 because as a PC user this expansion was another insult to me. The PC community does not care about rules especially when it comes to Matchmaking systems. We were grown using DOS Commands and having choices on what we played. In today we are forced to load up through 3rd party programs, which are easier to "hack" than the game itself. Cons: - No Dedicated Servers (we understand you want to "revolutionize the game industry" but, sometimes things are better to improve and not revolutionize. - No Lean Again... Please stop with PC Ports, it takes a whole what? 3 minutes to toss in code to allow lean. Patch the bugs later on when u find them. I know people personally who didn't buy MW2 because of lean.

    - Lack of Security... You allow dedicated servers to be controlled, listen... if people want to do something they will find away. Especially since MW3 didn't get Elite there is no reason to stop people from getting ranks on this new dedicated server, at least so the people who actually want to level up with integrity don't have to deal with auto-aim, walls, or mods in "match made" servers.

    - Maps, for real? The maps are way too controlled. Look at Cod4 maps, and compare them to the completely random, and complicated maps in mw3. There are too many walls, not enough openness, the places that are closed the routes are completely construed by impassable objects (I seriously can't get on top of this taxi that is 1/2 into the ground?), and every route has a completely safe camping corner. In Cod4 Maps most camping spots had at least 180 degree hazard zone, where you could get hit from behind or the side by looking in one direction. Pros -
You kept the same engine. Thank you. Etc. -
FPS games should not have extra monitor capability. There is no reason to have a FOV that covers 3 monitors, so you get extra advantages over other players. Especially when you can't edit the FOV settings. There is no reason to get third party fixes to a game setting that shouldn't of been in the game in the first place. Overall, it isn't the graphics, the weapons, the engine, or the storyline(honestly though, I've seen better in choose your adventure books), its the large things PC users(where most of these ratings come from) want into their game not a ported PC game.

I love the game, more so than BF2. And more then Black Ops and MW2.

Here is a summary of the Pros / Cons of the game:

PROS: - Movement is smooth and works well on my existing NVidia 450GTS hardware on MAX graphics. - The additional Game Modes and UI Improvements were sorely needed, and these improvements address many of the issues I had with the older series. - Being able to vote on the next map is nice, although I wish it were among 3 or 4 map choices. - The addition of info on the Lobby screen showing you your challenges at a glance is sweet. - I like the large number of maps included, and most of them play really well. - Dedicated Servers are great, but they need to be ranked. In late 2011, I expect not to have to restart or quit a game because one of the players happens to be the host and is causing the whole game to Lag.

CONS: - Dedicated Servers are un ranked, so no leveling up on a stable server. - When setting up a Private Match, it appears as though there is no way to disable the respawn delay. - The graphics should have been better. - You should be able to join a Party, even after the Party Leader is in a Lobby. - Parties should allow the leader to decide if Party Members are on the same team or not, on the fly. That way you can switch off between matches to kill your friends or not.

Overall the game is great, and plays much smoother than BF3. Although to be fare, I like the faster pace of MW3 over the BF3 experience, always have.

Multiplayer? The game still feels like a console port. The lack of lean removes a feature that was much needed, the game speed was reduced as well as the jump just to make sure the casual gamer gets a chance against the hardcore gamers and a direct reply to the complain of casual players claiming "bunny hopping" was overpowered. P2P seems actually worse than in MW2 because they introduced some sort of anti-lag feature to take away the advantage of the host by giving them the same ping as the next lowest ping on the server. Also, you can be in North America, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia... you'll get people that aren't near you in your game and the hosting will not be computer spec dependant, but instead it will be based on the average pings.

Field of View being locked along with max FPS and custom binds. Gone are the days of tweaking your config to match your PC and get the best FPS possible if you cared for that. You're stuck with basic settings with maxed FPS that isn't even syncable with your 120hz monitor if you have one. You also cannot bind a key to say something such as "Sorry for the team kill." or "Planting B! Cover!". Attempting to change any of those settings deemed "unfair" by IW will guarantee a reset of your config. Making it read only won't help either as the game will load a "factory" default config of those settings you tried to change.

When it comes to actual gameplay, the game is OK at best. Being a Search and Destroy player, you'll notice that maps are so small that there isn't any reason to play that gametype minus for a few maps that could actually work out with the gametype. Kill Confirmed is nice and "new" but it stops there. A new gametype isn't gonna make the game worth 60 bucks.

Too long, didn't read? Here's the general thoughts:

No Dedicated servers for Ranked gaming.
Locked config. (FoV, FPS, Binds, Lagometer, FPS Counter, etc.)
No sound options which makes it hard to be able to adjust the volume correctly.
Tiny Maps, some slightly larger that can allow for Search and Destroy play.
Fun Campaign and Spec Ops. Decent new gametype for Multiplayer.
    Modern Warfare 2.1
Gameplay modified to give a chance to casual gamers.
P2P ranked games worse than MW2.

Likes: Campaign and Storyline, New Items/weapons, Decent Graphics, Minimal Loadtime, Fast-paced, Addicting
Dislikes: Online play is glitchy, hacks rampant, can't team switch, Similarity to predecessors, Campaign is short (10 hours), Repetitive, Small Maps, Sniper Rifle is useless except for quickscoping and Killstreak Rewards play too much of a factor in play
I have to give this game a 5 out of 10, but in all honesty that's being a bit generous. The online is okay, but the Campaign was the best part and it wasn't worth the $60 I paid for the game.

Unfortunately the hackers were present within 48 hours of release. Hopefully Valve will do a better job of providing a cheat free environment than they did with MW2. The single player campaign is exactly what you'd expect, albeit kind of short. This game pretty much was a re-release of MW2 except with a couple tiny improvements.

The new things in the game could have been covered in a patch or some DLC, most certainly didn't warrant an entire new $60 game.

Did you play a legitimate version? I highly doubt you did if you reviewed it as 0.
CoD may be a cash cow but hey isn't all games meant to be Cash Cows? You are trying to make people buy the game. People your thoughts are too linear on rating this.

All I can say is MW3 is better then BF3 on some aspects but loses some aspects compared to MW3.

Also to all you haters whos purposely voting it down you should find something better to do.

People who said BF3 is worth the 60 I think its worth 30$ which is what I paid for it since after you hit Colonel (Rank 45) You basically have the same symbol and theres no more unlocks soo yeah boring.

What BF3 lacks most is continuation after you max everything youd go what now?
While MW3s system lets you keep on going longer then BF3 albeit not that long but hey its still something prestiging and what not.

Also to all you BF3 fans this review is clearly what BF3 is:

The new support strike package gives a novice player the opportunity to experience kill streaks and contribute to the team. The PC version is very good. Runs buttery smooth on my machine and also has support for dedicated servers once the option is selected from the main screen. There are a lot of more options on the PC version vs. the console, with dedicated server support you get game types like gun game, in addition the dedicated server support encourages competitive clean play and bans cheaters and hackers. It's good Activision did make their game compareble to Modern Warfare 2, which was a pretty fun game, but it's not acceptable they make such little changes to their follow up. I can keep ranting, but I think the UserScore says enough.
There ARE a few GOOD changes though. The killstreaks are nerfed compareble to Black Ops, and the Noobtube has been nerfed so badly it almost became useless. I will conclcude that the game is a piece of garbage compared to AAA+ games such as Skyrim and BF3. Leave it in the stores untill it's on sale for only â

The multiplayer was quick paced and competitive. Then came along modern warfare 2 which used the formula of the first game , but made it better, the story was gripping and the developers used the engine to its potential by making a creative campaign gameplay be it climbing cliffs, driving snowmobiles of them, or throwing knives. The game did extremely well because it was a worthy sequel to a great game. When modern warfare 3 was announced I was thinking what would they do next? To be honest, they didn't do anything new, same engine, same characters , aging physics and predictable plot. The story continues where mw2 left off and the makers did a good job of making the campaign exciting. But like many have pointed out, it feels like a dlc. Missing were the creative mode of gameplay, it left me with a stale feeling considering the trailer looked so good. But all the epic parts of the game were included in the trailer, the collapsing buildings, the underwater level the train sequence, other than those cut scenes it was basically going through rooms and shooting people dead. This happens till the very end. I don't think infintiyward's heart and soul were in this game. Knowing they fired 2 senior members of the team, it has taken its toll. Battlefield 3 is superior when it comes to graphics, physics and the fact that the listen to the gamers in further tweaking the game to make it enjoyable. Activision does not do this. They have assumed that the franchise's history will be the selling point of the game. But battlefield 3 has made sure that doesn't happen. The cod fans are not in for a treat with this one but they will not be entirely disappointed.my final verdict is buy the game only if you are itching to know how the story ends or you feel like playing some new cod maps. Kill Confirmed was a great invention for MW3, it's extremely fast-paced and you get a lot XP each match.

Most reviews have viewed this as a blank slate and do not take the previous games into consideration while gamers view it in the idea of what new experiences can I have in this game.
Playing the game I can really only view it as a glorified expansion to MW2 and as I have played this game before there is no feeling that the developers pushed anything but advertisements in peoples faces.

I was kind of surprised at the negativity surrounding it, especially during launch. If you're totally burnt out on the series, fine! Pick up another game and move on, but stop insulting the people who choose to buy it. To be honest, the single-player campaign could use some improving, but everything else in the game is just as fresh as anything you'd expect from a new game. Graphics are indeed better than those found in MW2, if only by a smidgen. Regardless, MW3 runs at a fluid 60 frames per second on my computer (with parts from 2008). To me, that's incredible! I find it hard to care about graphical innovation from one game to the next - the Modern Warfare series is still a story, not a tech demo. Worth picking up. Expand

Outdated graphics, latency issues, performance issues, lack of pc support, anticheat is lacking. weapon unbalance issues. too many small maps and lack of creativity.

It's the best. I mean if you liked MW(MW2) - you will like this. I like everything - story(well, it's not the most original one, but it's still good), Spec Ops(it's a lot of fun) and of course the engine of the game(which allows me to have beautiful graphics without change of my PC).

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

I found it hard to give this game any credit at all. It has the exact same feel as MW2 and barely makes a visual improvement. I feel like I'm just playing another useless DLC map pack. With MW2 being a mediocre production and a betrayal on all PC first person shooter players, MW3 finds a way to act like they care and then slap you in the face over and over. With the massive outcry of PCI found it hard to give this game any credit at all. With the massive outcry of PC gamers to include dedicated servers and the ability to control your games with console commands, IW finally adds these abilities (hidden deep in the settings) but does not allow you to gain any level or custom classes on dedicated servers. What?? That is the leading reason and enjoyment that most people get out of COD games. What reasoning do I have to join a dedicated server then? Looks like everyone will be forced to remain with no servers. Time for more of the same game full of hackers, no administrators to keep order, hosts dropping or having mediocre PC's that completely interrupt gameplay, lag lag lag and more lag. It's pretty obvious the reasoning that COD games are taking more and more control away from the user. They hide under this facade that they are making the game better and to keep people from abusing it. It's pretty obvious that all of this happens worse than before. They don't want dedicated servers, any user control of your settings (like console commands), custom community maps, etc. It's so that once the next game in the series is out, there will be no reason for people to stick to the old games and therefore get more sales. Gone are the days of playing in servers with clans and establishing a community of friends and regulars to play in your server with your variation of the rules. Don't like it? Then move on to another server until you find people you like to play with and rules that suite your style. COD will be given a 10 from me the very day that they release a game for PC gamers like COD used to be (not a console port), with dedicated servers (that people have a reason to play in and actually rank and level), larger number of player slots (for server owners to choose if they'd like), original and well built maps, custom community maps (for people to show their creativity and love of the game and create their own fun), and no paid DLC with an actual complete game upon release. Get the message Infinity Ward, you've made mediocre games and your constantly insulting gamers with your greed, power, and big heads. Expand

Between Battlefield and COD-MW3 , COD wins with a very small margin. The game's graphics & game play is too good for Battlefield-3. But the problem is the game is too short. And ends when u have just begun to enjoy it. Overall its fun, amazing, and with an engrossing story(Campaign).

When it comes to graphics, MW3 is not most beautiful, but certainly balanced (runs well on PC, which fulfills minimum requirements). Music is also very nice (but not as good as in MW2). if you played Modern Warfare 2. you played modern warfare 3... and what can i say im one of those that just didn't care for Modern Warfare 2 Either. as far as im concerned this series hit its peak in the first modern warfare.

the game brings nothing new to the table its the same repetitive arcade shooter. just with bumped up graphics.

The campaign had a slightly compelling story, but was very predictable.
And speaking about predictable : anyone with half a brain saw most plot-twists coming, especially the chapter where Makarov anticipates the 141 ambush and Soap dies.
It was also short, much like MW2, it lasted all of 6½ hours before i was done. And that was me taking my time and not rushing through. The

The amount of re-used material was obscene.

The special ops were boring, too much repetition again of stuff from the previous game, and just like MW2, it built too much on what you already did in the campaign.
It's so un-original i am wondering why it took them this long to release the damn thing. and IW/Sledgehammer trying to pull a fast one on us with that Survival mode (zombies rehash minus the zombies, anyone?)... That just ticked me off so much i never even bothered with multiplayer, which, from the looks of other user reviews, means i didn't miss much.
All in all, glad i got this game for free from my boss, because if i had spent money on this, i'd have been very, very angry.

Not the best maps ever. If Infinity Ward had made the game by them self it would be awesome but I think Sledgehammer Games made it look more towards Black Ops. Worth a try!

Don't buy Skyrim and CODMW3 together, or you'll wind up playing this for 30 minutes and getting bored as hell, and Skyrim for 8 hours and have a blast.

The strike packages and the additional game modes are an interesting addition though it does feel like more of an expansion of MW2 than an entirely new game (and the brief single player certainly doesn't warrant the additional cost). The number of maps included with the game was certainly a pleasant surprise.

If you've never played a MW game before, you certainly can't go wrong with MW3 but you might be better off picking up the original MW/CoD4 as it is (in my opinion) the best game in the series so far.

Activision need to avoid driving this series into the ground (like they have with other titles) and take a couple of years off. Spend some time listening to the players and come back with some fresh ideas for the next MW game.

I know that many of you are very impressed by the new Frostbite engine that is currently being used in Battlefield 3 but the question is is that all that matters? the graphics?. I am also a Battlefield fan and I've enjoyed playing BF3 as much as any of you do, but I do know that those 2 games arent the same. I'm impressed by bf3's graphics but MW3's Campaign story was just how I wanted all the other games i play to end. I have tried out the Multiplayer and I do agree that it has some similarities to Mw2. I cannot give this game a 10 out of 10 as there is always room for improvement. Expand

Thus, I can't recommend buying this unless you (still) like the fast pace, the customizable weaponry and the short matches, of about 10 minutes each. With the very important mention that, essentially, nothing has changed.
