    If you put mw2 and mw3 side by side, you would not be able to tell the difference. Its still just the same recycled game that came out in 2007. Graphics are very dated, this does not look like a 2011 game. Multilayer is nothing new, get a few kills then call in an airstrike and boom you're done.     This game deserves nothing less than a 0/10. i bought this game at midnight release, and I got tired of playing it after 2 days. This game should've been called Modern Warfare 2.5, this game is just a map pack and a game patch. The game is not near different enough to be worth $60. Black ops was more different from MW2 than this crap was.     Absolutely no updates to engine used in MW2. They even had the balls to use the same soundclips in multiplayer, e.g. the extreme digital liger scream with double-bass drum when you level-up/unlock, "Take no prisoners!" at level start, etc. The multiplayer looks like its being processed at 1366x768 and stretched to fit your 1920x1080 screen. Same flopping chickens, same outfits, and theAbsolutely no updates to engine used in MW2.     I have played every CoD going all the way back to the first one on PC. MW3 is by far the worst version I've ever played. The map design is atrocious. The lack of RANKED dedicated servers is unforgivable! It's very clear to me the amateurs at Sledgehammer are not CoD players at all. They took MW2 wonder map design and mutilated it. They took Black Ops awesome dedicated servers andI have played every CoD going all the way back to the first one on PC. MW3 is by far the worst version I've ever played. The map design is atrocious. While traveling to a friends house and playing it on his Xbox. There is absolutely no reason to buy this game. Whether you like or dislike the COD franchise, no reason.     This is just a call of duty mw2 DLC, same graphics, same gameplay. Everything the same, I feel riped off! No ranked dedicated servers? Check. No adjustable FOV? Check. No real innovation from MW2? This is quite sad, I wish you guys could release an absolutely NEW GAME. Im going forBF3 im sorry.

    The Call of Duty franchise is really hitting its lows now. Same old, it should be a mod not a game.

    Nothing new or interesting to mention, it's not worth the $$$ or time.

    It has no reason to be on PC, they shouldn't even bother porting it to PC in the future.

    I'm only happy that I was given it for free, but then again I could of gotten something much better, anything...

    Biggest disappointment of the year!!! I buy call of duty not for the single player, but for the mutliplayer. Immediately when I entered the mutiplayer, I knew this game was going to suck balls. IWnet all over again, lags, host migration etc. By this time one would think that infinity ward and activision would have realized IWnet is the biggest rubbish there is. Even Call of duty 1 hasBiggest disappointment of the year!!! I buy call of duty not for the single player, but for the mutliplayer.     Maybe a good DLC, but certainly a poor game. Poor graphic, NO RANKED DEDICATED SERVER, no evolution for the gameplay, short solo, corridors maps only. Upscaling in video settings (shame)
    I precommanded a game for the first time and that's the last for sure.

    Nothing more than a map pack for multiplayer with the same graphics than its predecessors. The campaign is playable but still nothing new in this saga. Lack of work by the developers plus the cost of the game I think it is an insult, still the hardcore gamers are the ones who want the game stay like it is now.

    Very nice DLC you have there! But its not a game, just DLC. You are just used by EA to get more and more money. Learn to think please ;) Just look - everyone are paying that same cash for longer, better looking and better in storyline games.

    This game pretty much was a re-release of MW2 except with a couple tiny improvements.

    The new things in the game could have been covered in a patch or some DLC, most certainly didn't warrant an entire new $60 game.

Does it have ranked dedicated servers? No. Is it MW1 with a little MW2 and Black Ops mixed ( mainly the bad parts ) in with worse pc support? Yes.     I have no idea why i decided to buy CoD MW3, i never really liked any of their other games besides CoD4 and CoD2, but i thought i would give it a try as it looked like it could be fun in the trailers and what not. It wasn't. This game was a waste of 30 quid it's so boring the graphics are quite bad though i don't care too much about that but the audio is just horrible, the guns sound likeI have no idea why i decided to buy CoD MW3, i never really liked any of their other games besides CoD4 and CoD2, but i thought i would give it a try as it looked like it could be fun in the trailers and what not.     - The visuals haven't improved one bit compared to previous COD titles - The game looks outright ugly compared to Battlefield 3 - They still stick to this ridiculous multiplayer matchmaking scheme on PC - Call of Duty Elite... And worst of all Steam won't give me a refund for this game. I "blame" Nintendo because    This game sucks for the following reasons:

You can literally see the franchise calling it in knowing full well their fanbase (myself included) would shell out whatever the price they slapped on this with the expectation they were getting a true sequel. Maybe when the "Game of the Year" version comes out (sinceSimply put, one of the most expensive expansion packs I've ever purchased. Could have been a $20 DLC for all it's worth. You can literally see the franchise calling it in knowing full well their fanbase (myself included) would shell out whatever the price they slapped on this with the expectation they were getting a true sequel. Maybe when the "Game of the Year" version comes out (since every game is the game of the year these days) it'll have some DLC included that makes the price worthwhile and has Elite working by then.

Black Ops seemed like a complete package, with my only complaint being the resetting of skills with prestige. This game, MW3 is nonsense. no server admins OR a vote system to boot apparent hackers. just looking on youtube shows how aimbot is rampant.I never played MW 2 for the reasons that were exhaustively complained about back in 2009.     After 10hrs of playing MP in this game i came to the conclusion that this game is a complete waste of money to be honest. Locked fov, locked fps and no improvements graphics wise since mw1.
    Map design feels cramped and horrible. A complete cluster ****
    Next game in the series will be downloaded and tried before any purchase is done.
    MW3 was a waste of my money.

    I wouldn't even pirate this piece of garbage. It's infuriating and insulting to charge full-price for a game with little or nothing to differentiate it from it's predecessors aside from a "3" in the title. There are plenty more games that deserve your time and attention than this.

    the best CoD was the ORIGINAL CoD that came out years ago. i still remember playing and actually enjoying it to this day.

    So, I got Black Ops for Christmas last year!... Found a great deal this year on MW3 for under $20. I played a little bit of the multiplayer and It looked like I just downloaded Black Ops again. Except there was no server browser, I was put into a matchmaking system that I had no control over. I only played a couple maps and found nothing groundbreaking in them. I felt like this would haveSo, I got Black Ops for Christmas last year!... Found a great deal this year on MW3 for under $20.     I am very very upset when I saw mw3. singleplayer consisted of a corridor with 2-3 shelters, each scene was scripted and the player can`t take no part in it, all that was required from the player - it's kill the stupid bots in the hallway. no diversity. also disappointed many of the details, just copied from the previous parts of the game. it seems that the developers were too lazy to do mw3.

So when they announced before the release of MW3 that they were bringing back dedicated servers I thought, "Cool this might be alright". I was wrong.
    MW3 is exactly the same as MW2, I don't mean it's similar, IT'S THE EXACT SAME GAME! I mean c'mon they've had two years between titles and yet there's nothing innovative at all.
    I used to spend hours each day playing the original MW online, then I played MW2 casually for a few months but with MW3 I was over it in about 2 hours.
    I then thought ok, I'll play the single player campaign, that'll be entertaining for a few hours or so. Wrong again, although I don't have a problem with the single player mode, I mean COD is COD. I got a few missions into it and then recieved an error which 'caused the game to crash each time I reached a certain point. I couldn't find any way around it so after a couple of weeks I had no need for this game at all and traded it in.

    So I would have to say for a game that's gloating about how many copies they have sold, I would have thought they would have released a game that was A) not a copy and paste of the previous title and B) at least have the game ready to play.
    Every title released since COD4 would be better of as a DLC package I can't see how any of them can warrant a full title release.
    I hate COD I will never buy it again and wished I'd never spent money on this piece of crap. I realise that giving it a 0 might seem a bit harsh but so is asking for $89 for a game I already brought 2 years ago.    … Expand

I also wonder why professional reviewers (wouldn't call em critics) are so out of touch with the public. The very first multiplayer game I joined had an aimbotter in it. The second multiplayer game I joined also had an aimbotter. They've fixed absolutely nothing!

It's fun to watch game critics tow the Activision line with this game series. It is also fun to watch the yearly advertising blitz aimed at idiots. I can't even get into the individual changes to this game series in particular over the years. Dots on radar, the disappearance of weapon recoil, the simplification or "idiotification" of many game mechanisms such as health packs turning into hide in a corner and regen health, or acquiring skill at shooting in a PC game being replaced by idiotic perks and killstreaks in the multiplayer. Singleplayer...I see reviews for it. You can't tell me anybody is actually shocked when they sit down and Call of Duty is once again a stupid implausible linear "kill all the bad guys" first person shooter. It has been the same single player experience over and over and over so if you're actually upset about that aspect of the game you should probably castrate yourself now before you infect the rest of our population with your potential genetically inferior offspring. If you're one of the poor saps who actually know what competition is and who is trying to find it in this game, I pity you. First person shooters are dead, but guess what everybody? You killed it. All of you. Every single last person who has bought and complained about this game is complaining about a fate which they have asked for. I didn't buy this game. I played some of it at a friend's house. I refused to buy it, just as I refused to buy Black Ops, MW2, and World at War (all of which can better be known as CoD4 reskin 1, 2, and 2a. MW3 (CoD4.2B) is a pile of crap because you made those games before it best sellers. You buy games you know will be the same old **** crap and you get mad that the game developer has screwed you over once again. Guess what? Buying the game tells them you like it and tells them to continue what they're doing. Before I end this review I want to say two more brief rants: 1. The numbering system is askew. Call of Duty didn't have a number but lets call it the first which warrants a second. Call of Duty 2 was appropriately enough named. Call of Duty 3 never made it to the PC. Call of Duty 4 introduced the sub-name Modern Warfare. The next game in the series was Call of Duty: World At War. This is where things break down. Shouldn't it be Call of Duty 5: World At War? In linear terms, not counting expansions, World at War was the 5th Call of Duty game. Then they released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. What??? You mean Call of Duty 6? Why did they number CoD4 and assign a sub-name? Why did they do away with numbers, and then re-introduce them to number sub names? In the future could we end up with "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 6: Desert Combat 4: Infantry Squad 8"?? 2. The reasoning for a change from WW2 to more modern times was that WW2 was "played out" as a genre. Sadly, the weapons called for better balance between opposing forces so games didn't break down into the chaos of Famas vs. Famas or AK vs. AK in every god damn server. We had CoD, CoD2, and that was it for official WW2 releases. Of course we had CoD3 on the console (largely forgotten as a game) and the expansion to CoD, CoD: United Offensive which was also largely forgotten, but it was 2 major PC releases for the WW2 genre and then it was considered played out. Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, and Modern Warfare 3 have since been released, all of which deal with more or less modern military action. Why is it that 2 WW2 games from 2003-2005 warranted dropping the genre forever other than that horrible World at War re-skin of CoD4, while Modern Warfare, an infinitely less balanced and less interesting area is thrust to the forefront for the better part of 6 years? Game play has not changed since CoD 4 and the campaign did not live up to expectations in the slightest. In my opinion Infinity Ward should take every copy of this game to a skeeter shooting range and take a few hours to put a shotgun shell into every copy.

    Spec ops is ok but gets very repetitive, with zombies in black ops you had a storyline and easter eggs to complete, spec ops is nothing but shoot and kill, it will never BE treyarch's zombies, it will never replace it.

    The multiplayer is drowning in problems such as glitches, major lag and serious balancing issues. The maps are extremely small, (think of shipment from cod 4), and are badly designed with awful spawn locations that causes a lot of spawnkilling. Personally i found that Mw3's multiplayer was made up of: 1) spawn kill or 2) get spawn killed, no matter what game mode you play. Multiplayer was a big step back from black ops which had endless customisation options, MW3 has only a fraction of this.
    Great features such as dive to prone have not been implemented in to mw3 which, again, is a big step back from black ops.
    PC has even less support than MW2, with no ranked dedicated servers (another step back from black ops), which leads to countless hackers and cheaters, No adjustable FOV causes headaches and dizzyness when sitting close to the screen, IW dont understand most PC player sit on a desk with the monitor directly in front of them and console players tend to sit further away and have a tv which is why we need adjustable FOV.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What started out to be an interesting sequel got ruined in the end process. It turns out to be Modern Warfare 2.5 in the end, the same graphics are used, same textures, horrifying multiplayer and a generic story mode. The story mode is practically this: You are crashed in New York, things blow up, you wake up in India, things blow up again, you are the bodyguard of the prime minister of Russia, plane blows up and you die with the PM being kidnapped, you are in Africa, things blow up, Warabe dies, and blah blah blah, it's more or less like a Michael Bay movie, a movie full of explosives, and the main plot is forgettable, in the end of the game, I got completely confused with what happened completely because the game took me 3.5 HOURS TO COMPLETE! with these standards, surely the co-op doesn't fail at all. Guess what? That also got destroyed and ruined, copy and paste maps of the multiplayer, stupid AI that go suicide towards you to kill you, a unknown story to it. If you thinks things might be good in the end, you will be unhappy with the result. It's a copy and paste of MW2 and BO, full of rubbish maps, no dedicated server, people talking BS on the mic and messages, OVERPOWERED weapons which will need to be nerfed, full of rip-off DLC which people want their money back for. With an overall package full of failure, you will expect the community to be respectful? Once again, a BIG FAT NO! Community are nothing but craptalkers, people hating other games which aren't COD, full of your parents comeback and the list will go on for months. If I had to pick an alternative to MW3, pick BF3, Crysis 2, RAGE, Homefront, F3AR, Bulletstorm, Resistance 3 and Killzone 3. Avoid this with all your life depending on it!… Expand

    Finally got to try it, wait no I've already played this. Oh no, that was MW and MW2. Same game with new maps and stats. Graphics updated? Nope. Gameplay updated? Nope. PC users gets the shaft again? YES! I miss how PC games use to be $49.99, but because of this crappy company deciding to bump it up to $59.99, every other company followed suit. Crap game for a crap price.

    This is more of an expansion than a stand alone game. No servers, no proper spawn system, nothing new at all, no more Activision for me. Fanboys will be fanboys, and you can whatever you want about sales but lets face it CoD does not look good, or play well and there are thousands of games you could buy for the price of this garbage.

    wow 2 damn bullets to head from sniper and he's still walking, gj...... than shotguns 3 shoots from close range to kill( expect overpowerd striker), when we are at striker i just got 360 noscope with that sniper ...... than hitbox sux badly , small map, same engine

    Just downloaded this via Steam due to their free weekend for the multiplayer, and it has to be said that this is not a new game. Instead, it is a re-skinned version of modern warfare 2, which was good at the time. However, times change, and shooters get BETTER, they usually dont work well when they go backwards like this one did. Graphics are nothing to write home about. I suggest buying Battlefield 3 and supporting a developer who actually cares. I turned into a Battlefield fanboy after playing MW3.     i've since learned my lesson...STOP preordering games. wait to see the player reviews and comments.

After beating the single-player, prestiging several times in the multiplayer, and becoming and ELITE member myself, I can honestly say it was all one big waste of money. The only reason I bought all that **** was because my friends are obsessed with this garbage. Sure it can be fun at times but wow I was surprised at how quickly things got old. I suppose after beating Crysis about 50 times back in 2008 I've been spoiled ever since. Well, maybe it was half-life 2? Hell Half-Life 1 is more interesting than this.     Thus, I can't recommend buying this unless you (still) like the fast pace, the customizable weaponry and the short matches, of about 10 minutes each. With the very important mention that, essentially, nothing has changed.
