    So lets talk about MW2...woops I mean MW3. To be honest, I saw this coming. I knew that this game would just be a MW2 DLC. Unfortunately, the brand "Call of Duty" still attracts the masses of idiots who go for the name not the game. The only reason Activision published this pile of rubbish is because they could have just slapped the name Modern Warfare 3 on a copy of Justin Beiber's DVDSo lets talk about MW2...woops I mean MW3. To be honest, I saw this coming. I knew that this game would just be a MW2 DLC. Unfortunately, the brand "Call of Duty" still attracts the masses of idiots who go for the name not the game. The only reason Activision published this pile of rubbish is because they could have just slapped the name Modern Warfare 3 on a copy of Justin Beiber's DVD and people would still buy it. What it all comes down to is that the console gaming population has an average IQ of around 30. Living in denial that there is no better game than Call of Duty. It is only the rest of the gaming population that tweaks their head to left of the games shelf to realise Battlefield 3 came out too, a MODERN, INNOVATIVE and BRILLIANTLY BEAUTIFUL FPS actually does exist! Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed the previous Call of Duty games (Treyarch being my favourable developer of the series) but this is just a ridiculous game. In conclusion, the majority of the gaming population (mainly console) has turned stupid, maybe this is why unemployment is such a big issue. I don't buy for a name. I buy for a game.… Expand

    - No ranked dedicated servers
    - No massive changes to gameplay in multiplayer, just tweaks like an anual sports game. - The touted LAN requires a permanent internet connection...

    + Multiplayer maps more enjoyable than what's in MW2 (subjective)
    + Singleplayer is mindless fun

    I was excited to see this game, I played COD 4 and MW2 for the story, never bothered with multiplayer until Black Ops. The story is what I wanted, and what I got was a childrens book. Graphics? What graphics? I've seen this game before, oh yeah, MW2, christ, even COD 4. You expect some sort of quality when you send £45 on a product, if I went to the butchers and bought a legI was excited to see this game, I played COD 4 and MW2 for the story, never bothered with multiplayer until Black Ops. The story is what I wanted, and what I got was a childrens book. Graphics? What graphics? I've seen this game before, oh yeah, MW2, christ, even COD 4. You expect some sort of quality when you send £45 on a product, if I went to the butchers and bought a leg of lamb for £30, got home just to find its a hollowed out carcus with maggots inside, I would be entitled to a full refund, why not with this? The campaign was far too short, remember the days when the story of a game would be a decent play through of about 12-16 hours? This one barely hits 4, and that's with toilet breaks, snack breaks, and a small nap due to boredom. To be frank, I think I have had orgasms longer than the length of this game. Now, the multiplayer. Oh my good hypothetical higher being and sole creator. I played 1 hour of this so called" multiplayer, and I felt like crying after the first 6. The maps are smaller than shanty houses in brazil. The maps are poorly designed. I would love to be able to defend it, and the Christians would love to prove God is real, so its not happening. The guns are the same as the ones from MW2, did they really not bother at all? The character models are also the same, I really cant think of anything original about this game, damn, even the cover of the case which this diabolical mess comes in is as generic as you could imagine. If you have gotten this far into the review, then you are probably aware that I hold no place for this "game" in my heart. Don't go anywhere yet, there is more. Hardened Edition? Special Edition? Soldier Wannabe Edition? I Bought This Game To Reassure My Mum I'm Still A Virgin Edition? How many bloody editions do you need? Its the same "game", just comes with some crappy little toys or a metal case, OH MY GOD!!! METAL CASE!!!!! I keep my tobacco in one of those and it doesn't make it any better. Seriously, stop bringing out all of these stupid editions, its a game, people want the disc, well most people, there are a select few losers who will happily hand over there bar mitzvah money to pay for a little toy to go with their "game". Also, Activision, I have no doubt you have one of your mindless slaves going though all of these reviews, so the following goes to said mindless slave- Report back to your masters at Activision HQ, presumably on the side of a volcano, and tell them that they shall never get a penny of my hard earned cash ever again. It's mine, I worked for it, I will only give it to somebody else if they have worked for it, you haven't. Stop making these DLC's, they are a rip off, you are practically stealing. The profits you make, damn, if I made that much I would get done for racketeering. You make enough money, you don't need anymore, you have more than enough to guarantee that you will live a better life than me and most other gamers. Give some to charity, do something good with the money. Last but not least, next year when Call of Duty: Whatever You Call It comes out, I shall not be buying it, and I hope that there are enough people out there who are smart enough to see that there are better games out there that have actually had a bit of work put in to them, and they wont be buying your game.     Just rented it, to test it out, and it's just the same old crap. Nothing original. Just trying to ride out the money train. Campaign is the same monotonous, "kill generic bad guys to get to the next scripted event", garbage. You can just play any other modern warfare to get the same multiplayer

Regret buying the game, complete copy and paste of mw2, the graphics are the same if not worse on PC, i can not speak for the Console versions but on PC, the lack of dedicated servers has completely ruined the multilayer experience all over again, the maps are horrible, most of them are too small for 16 players and between the horrible lag i find my self spawning into gunRating it a 0.     Terrible game. Cut and paste of mw2. It is so bad, don't even try it out. Barely anything has changed and it sucks. It is just a $60 dollar expansion pack. Huge disappointment on the pc.

    Blackops disappointed me, with a lot off problems the first 3 months. But MW3 is a complete joke, I want my money back. It is the worst game I've bought since BO. What are you doing Activision? You laugh at PC gamers when you bring a game like this to the market!

This game is simply the same exact game as any other Activision FPS in the past 4 years, with a different (albeit pathetically predictable) story and the same wretched engine. Multiplayer has not changed significantly enough for me to care, and I highly recommend you save your money and wait until this ends up in the bargain bin. Though those 12 hours of gameplay was more compelling than Black Ops, I still feel incredibly cheated out of $60. Online play is no better than Black Ops. Not just graphically, but the levels almost look like the same levels as BO... Laggy servers, gives laggy movements and12 Hours of single payer game play.     This is just a map pack for call of duty mw2. Would you pay $60 for a map pack? All they did was change the 2 to a 3. I would have given it a five but after reading about how they were trying to boost metacritic scores I needed to bring the score down to where it belongs.

    Single Player This games campaign was as linear and scripted as it could get like any other CoD game. Every 5 minutes something would blow up like a building would go down or a helicopter would crash and it really gets old fast. But in this disaster there are no character development at all, its just one big roller coaster which is miserable to ride, shoot and run.

    Multiplayer

    This has to be the most pathetic multiplexer I have ever played. IW/Sledgehammer had so much they could of learned from Black Ops but they failed to do so. Like many said its a copy paste from MW2 and I agree you could say MW3 is just a $60 map pack with awful maps designs as they are TOO SMALL. Gun balance is as terrible as ever nothing new there, its a shame that they award players doing bad with death streaks the goal is to get better not worse. Call of Duty Elite

    Wow the service was down day one and what do they do? Give you 30 days for free for a program you spend $50 and they don't attempt to fix it till their greedy asses are done counting the money. Verdict

    I have liked both CoD and BF games. Ive had all the CoD games since MW. Black Ops was bad.... This is better technically speaking than black ops, but still same rehash crap. Sure it doesnt stutter (in SP)....but no dedicated servers? Cereals? Ouch.

    The campaign was short. Its story was so generic that even a retarded child can make it. The graphics is worse than CoD4. The sounds are just recycled junk from old CoD all guns sounds like a toy gun. Its streak system become from worst to worstser(i know there's no such word). To make it simple. This game is a joke. Its a CoD4 DLC.. And Cod4 is much better. Save your money and buy other games.

    Most people who this game is targeted towards already have the previous installments of the Call of Duty franchise. My suggestion to those poor souls would be to keep their games, they are not missing anything.

    This game is the same int pc and consoles, and dont optimice and get advantege of this plataform. Poor graphics, poor sound, the same gameplay, the same engine, its more and expansion of call of duty modern warfare 1.

    Remember counter strike, the FPS game we used to play before was better than this trash. I feel sad for those who bought it for 60 dollars.     And, i can not see differences between MW2 & MW3...
    THIS IS THE SAME **** GAME.
    The only new feature is the system to get screwed in the long term with cod elite...

    Another fail pc launch, horrible console graphics lends this to be just another map pack. Move on nothing new to see here. Go play black ops or mv2. OR go play a real game that works well on the pc, battlefield 3

    This game is the worst of years. Its just an updating of Call of Duty 4. The multiplayer is full of kids and all of them's using noobs techniques, and the solo campagn is the shortess mod I never seen in my life.

Also lookup the number of bots/hacks/cheats for Call of Duty 2 you will see plenty of them that are still active and that the developer has done nothing about.     Very, very disappointing. Barely any work put into this game at all. Spawn next to an enemy happens far too frequently and I seem to lose connection a whole lot. The game engine has barely improved since CoD4. They seem to sit back, do as little work possible and just rake in the money because it carries the Call of Duty name. That won't last much longer. PC gamers get rubbish once again.

    Horrible game, do not buy it! Its much worse than mw2, IWFail lags like crazy and camping is so present. The maps are very camper friendly. Together with the long zoom in time and the lag, its impossible to beat campers that are waiting and already zoomed in.

    I was till this game a fan of MW series. I'm not afraid of bugs or lags. But MW3 was a huge disappointment, cause it's a real degradation for the series. Now the graphic is more blurry, but cause it doesn't handle AA good, things like fences flicker. And really - that's not a graphic for 2011. The only thing why I brought the game was for the Story, everything else turned out unpolished and old.

Well, this time, it's exclusively cramped city maps where multiplayer is pretty much reduced to running laps around the map. Very tiresome, very quickly. Combine this with poor sound design and a campaign that is completely laughable as it is short (I admit, that IS a good thing with how horrid the story is), and you get a game that is not worth a $60 price tag, nor is it worth the title 'The Most Anticipated Game in History'.    … Expand

    I feel like a morning of playing the MW3 singleplayer... So I start it up...and it crashes instantly. Give a few more goes...keeps crashing...     This system runs BF3 on high without breaking a sweat.

Not even a bit emotional like the previous parts. The whole ideaOkay right. It is 2011 and damn Activision just released the same game for the 5th time. Graphics are just bunch of **** Campaign missions are bored as hell. To delay the playtime, they just spawn ****load enemies without brain and they force you to hide. That ISNT Call Of Duty. The story sucks hard compared with MW1 and MW2. Not even a bit emotional like the previous parts. The whole idea and feeling are just the same as MW1. The whole idea isn't to make a epic game. It's just about the money and not about something fresh and unique.

    I couldn't get this game to work on my brotactular Macbook Pro (or as I call it my Macbook Bro). Obviously IW didn't optimize this game for such a brotactular system and thus they cannot receive my Seal of Broproval. Total letdown bros.

    Modern Warfare is the wrong name, nothing modern about it since it was released what 5 years ago..Recycled trash sold for an obscenely high price. Don't buy this garbage and encourage game producers to take consumers for granted.

    I wish I could release the same game three times and make millions off it! It seems as though Activision has become lazy and considers all people who play their games as mindless drones who will fork out money every year to play the same game. Congrats, Activision. Enjoy the horrible user reviews, you deserve every bit of it. Oh also, stop ASKING for positive user reviews..

    CODMW3 = CTRL A + CTRL C + CTRL V = Same Old $#!# Just another cash in like Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk and will probably end up like those two series as well. BF3 > CODMW3

    If you're a PC player, don't buy this game. Infinity Ward has stuck us with the same garbage p2p matchmaking as console. This means that if you don't pull host, you can forget about having a decent game. The lag is horrible and, just like Modern Warfare 2, the game is plagued with hackers that players can do nothing about.     60$ dlc I expect more from the big gaming company's. 2 years and all I get is a re-skinned version of MW2 with a changed leveling/perk system. Activision has the number 1 selling game out and they can not even improve their engine. They all are sitting on their fat bank account laughing at the consumers.

    Crap crap crap is all i can say. They still dont care about us pc gamers. We dont have elite and i doubt we will get it anytime soon. The maps are **** the game lags all the time and the dedicated servers are unranked. All Activision cares about is the console gamers. We get left in the back with nothing.

    Just another cash in of a tired old franchise. Re-releasing a video game every year and making millions is just a slap in the face to real developers who actually take the time to make a decent video game, with a good engine, great online, and a good story.

    IWnet matchmaking sucks, ping is not stable from game to game it s hard to adjust..... black ops had dedicated servers and it worked very well compared to this crap matchmaking which cannot even get 4 ppl party into same game come on!!!

    map design is bad also

    Modern Warfare 3 is a great game...if you have never played Modern Warfare 1 or 2. To be plain, MW3 is a simple regurgitation of the CODness we have all seen before. I was hoping for something shiny and new, but I admit that I got exactly what I expected. To be honest, we as a gaming community deserve this. If we keep paying for low quality repeats, the publishers and game developers willModern Warfare 3 is a great game...if you have never played Modern Warfare 1 or 2.     I have bought every copy of COD since COD 4 - after playing MW2, i stopped playing cod all togther. When black ops came out, i thought eh, ill give it was 2nd try. I played the game maybe for 2 weeks. Never even thought of looking up this game. tested it out at my buddies place and saw that game has not changed since MW2. Same old run and gun.

    Because this game is now linked to my steam account with a few others I cannot sell it again so the games dvd's have now become the most expensive coaster for my beer I have ever bought. At least I'm getting some use out of my money :)

    Thus, I can't recommend buying this unless you (still) like the fast pace, the customizable weaponry and the short matches, of about 10 minutes each. With the very important mention that, essentially, nothing has changed.

    Stunning campaign with epic moments makes this third installment of Modern Warfare a great show with the best approach to players. No need to mention an excellent multiplayer. [Dec 2011]
