    I typically don't review anything, but I want consumers to beware. The promises in advertising and PR are not fulfilled in this game.

    The graphics are still the quality of 5 years ago. The only thing that perhaps helps it look modern is just anisotropic filtering. Even the maxed out textures are mostly low quality. Calling this a next gen title is not just a joke it is an insult. The    I typically don't review anything, but I want consumers to beware. The promises in advertising and PR are not fulfilled in this game.

    The gameplay is non innovative. Making this game no better than an expansion pack of MW3 at best. It will feel like more of the same, or perhaps less of the same in some cases. The new kinds of maps that you have to 'learn what the map can do' has very limited implementation and doesn't affect game play in any way.

    CoD might be fun for casual players who just want to play the same game they have been playing for years, with nearly the same quality of graphics, and nearly the same gameplay. It is just an over priced map pack. Nothing about this title lives up to the "Next Gen" promise, and is not worth the price tag. I have no idea what they spent that blockbuster budget on.     So, this is my 3rd COD. The first one MW1 and I did not like it. So I skipped the whole series for a long time. Then BO2 was realeased, I bought it and enjoyed it. It was really good game (and still is). So I decided to pre-order Ghosts.

    Next thing is FOV, locked to 65. Also imo this game is not as fast as BO2 is. It's bugged, slow, campy piece of garbage.    … Expand

The animations are awful Grenades are thrown by magically puking them out of your face and waving aimlessly in front of you afterwards. Character movement look like something from the first iteration of the source engine... everything seems out of place. The sound effects are borderline hilarious. Silencers sound like a mix between a laser gun from star wars and the classic james bond pistol. Btw explosions are sad, very sad.
    Read this out loud: "POOF!" I guarantee that sounds better than anything in game.

    Gotta say graphics are lacking feels so toonsih and more unstable than bf4. There is nothing new or worth while in this game to make it stand out as a must have.

    From the stuttering happening in the menu to the poor texture quality this game was not worth 60$. You cannot change your FOV and you will find yourself killed by shots out of your field of view. The game was poorly optimized for Pc I expected much more for the requirements. I rate this 1/10 because I'd feel like an idiot if I gave it 0 after spending 60$.

The leveling up feels uninteresting, and so does creating a class. For pc, the game looks, handles, and generally feels like sh*t. For Infinity Ward to boast that they would work extra hard on the PC version for a great experienced,In all honesty, this game is bad. Especially for PC. Infinity Ward done goofed it up. For pc, the game looks, handles, and generally feels like sh*t. For Infinity Ward to boast that they would work extra hard on the PC version for a great experienced, they might as well have been a politician, because that was a promise unkept. The settings can't be changed in game, which is ridiculous. You have to back out to the very first menu if you want to change simple stuff like texture settings. The options are scarce too. Features are disincluded, for others. I.E. Vision distance can't be changed, for the whole "dual rendering" on snipers. The dual rendering is more pointless than having camos for the damn dog, which acts brain damaged. When you aim down the scope, the "amazing" world around you is rendered twice, then blurred out, so you get to see green blotches in all their glory. The engine is not, in any way, "next-gen." Battlefield 4 runs better than this. I'm not some Battlefield fanboy either, I have appreciation for both of the series. I'd rather have bought Black ops 2 than this garbage. The audio settings (read: SETTING, AS IN ONE) is comprised of a master volume bar. So no, I can't turn down the crap music, so I can listen for footsteps. At this point, BF4 is better at being CoD than CoD. The weapon selection is crap. I've seen more guns in a point-and-shoot. The perks feel non-existent. Everyone else says the story mode is poop, so why bother. I give it a 1, as I gave one f*ck to write this review. Don't buy this Activision is half-assing it now. So much for all the "we are building a new engine". Adding some poor lighting effects (google ghosts two suns lighting) and upping polygon count doesn't equal a new engine.     After reading some negative user reviews I first thought: "this can`t be that bad". I have a high end rig, so this has to run smooth. What a mistake! This came runs like crap. In mp there`s a constant stuttering (with or without Vsync on, even with low settings). And in sp it`s even worse. I hardly reach 60 frames with my FX8350,    That`s an imposition! Can`t believe I spent 60€ for this!

    I wish I could give a better score, BUT Activision released the same game 5th time. I hoped that this will be the real nextgen Call of Duty, but after the trailers the game disappointed me! The campaign story is perfect, just like the cinematics, but the texture qualities... man... I have only one question left: Why is this game have such a high system requirements?

    You kill people, blow up, rinse and repeat with different methods like missile, bombs, sniper turret or dog (Lol).
    They copied ideas from a lot of things like Disguise mission and Helicopter mission from Black Ops 1, Tank mission from Battlefield 3. If they gonna make a single player campaign like a movie, Make a movie.    But still CoD ghosts campaign repeat the mistake of MW3 campaign

    Monumental crap, graphics are terrible but the download was 30Gb, that's like the game coming on 6 DVDs. Not sure what is included in that when the game looks so shocking.

    Best advice, avoid. Things like Metro: Last Light show what PCs are really capable of

I'm very curious as to what that 30gb is used for because this game looks like it was designed in the early 90's. It just looks amateurish.     Infinityward have broken their promises of "dedicated server connections on launch for all platforms" so instead we were left with an iwnet style crap p2p connection /hostings.

I have a over powered gaming rig and this game on "optimal" settings looks like it should be on Nintendo 64. Glad i received this game as a gift so I didn't have to watch my 60.00 burn. Yeah, the old IW net gaming system that was shoved down our throats. The lag more often than not ruins this game. How bad is the lag? So bad, they include NO PING METER in game. The default setting in your config file allows you to join games so long as your ping is under 800 ms. Yes 800. There are no FOV settings, so you are stuck at the standard 65. Want to turn off music in game? Sorry, the only audio setting available is volume.

    Thanks for the console game on my computer guys. A total lack of effort gets you the score you deserve.    … Expand

    Im so glad I didnt get this game because its so bad, also it has nothing on Bioshock aka the best replyable game of all time. You can get the triple pack for £20 at the humble store or wait until the steam sale for it to be cheap

    2600k...GTX 680 4Gb FTW...8 gigs ram...Samsung 840 pro.. What am I missing here? Does it run like s*** on purpose? Go play MW2 and see BETTER graphics AND gameplay. What a joke...What a bad, bad, bad joke this was. Not next gen in the slightest, runs like a$$, and I still can't find a reason why????

This has burned me on Activision for the last time. $60 for a game that has horrible graphics stutter, insane lag compensation, NO ANTI-CHEAT, and random crashes. On top of that, they are already marketing buying their expansion IN GAME, not even in the least bit concerned with the user outcry. Everything about this game was copy and paste, butOne of the WORST games I have EVER played. Single player is both boring and short (I completed the game in less than 7hrs),, and multiplayer.... where to start on that I wonder? How about the retarded amount of people that cheat and use hacks? To the point where there is no point in playing multiplayer unless you cheat as well.     The game is very laggy, and my pc, and I have an AMD Phenom II x6 and ATI HD 5850 1GB
    and 6GB Ram.

    Bf 4 have "Levolution" feature which was quite innovative but Bf game have destructible environment from the beginning.....A whole 60 story skyscraper crumbles down in Bf 4 and in COD Ghosts a tiny gas station falls down........The producer of COD Ghosts are exaggerating that some destructible environment are innovation in gaming but on a contrary Bf 4 producers are saying true facts about their engine and they do not brag about anything....they just clearly provide the relevant facts..............COD Ghosts tech feature video was totally a joke as it did not reflected anything in the actual game.    … Expand

    Maps are too damn big and complex... CoD was famous because his pace was fast, and we didn't have to search for an enemy for a long time... Now the campers are everywhere, the guns insta kills, and eveything is ultra boring.

    I bought this game for the reason of the steam winter sale. A sizeable 33% off seemed pretty good to me and I have enjoyed most of the previous call of duty titles. However, I don't know if Activision have some kind of grudge against the PC community or if they just forgot about us but the game feels sloppy. Now this is a new feeling I have felt for a call of duty game, they are normallyI bought this game for the reason of the steam winter sale. A sizeable 33% off seemed pretty good to me and I have enjoyed most of the previous call of duty titles. However, I don't know if Activision have some kind of grudge against the PC community or if they just forgot about us but the game feels sloppy. Now this is a new feeling I have felt for a call of duty game, they are normally well polished and pretty solid but it fails to deliver on one of it's core selling points. I am constantly being shot around corners and spawned directly in front of my greedy enemies sights. I'm not even going to delve into the abysmal port or various missing necessary and expected settings options. (No field of view option, really?). Also I don't think the campaign deserves a mention, I have precisely 14 minutes on record and that was the opening cut scene when I accidentally downloaded the single player. I thought I was never going to have my PC back. But if your really desperate for some fast mindless action and don't mind a bit of BS then be my guest and go for it. All I'm saying is that they better produce something pretty damn fine next year otherwise there profits might dwindle. Anyway I'm sticking to COD4 and MW2 for now.… Expand

    Typical dull and repetitive rubbish that seemed like it was dreamt up by some gun toting conspiracist. Poorly ported over to the computer and the campaign is just short of an arcade gun game. Don't bother spending your money on another one of these assembly line made games. They think they can just pour all their money into the graphics department, but that is not how games should be made.

    This has to be a all time low for IW.
    messed with settings for 70 hours of multi-player.
    The game would run 75-90 fps max
    but feel like 8-10 fps.
    I have removed this trash from my PC.

    OK, software problems can be solved. And the i have contacted support and a few weeks later somes problems have been solved.     Today, 04 june of 2014 i have entered in the multiplayer.
    How many players has worldwide?

    After waiting a few minutes because there is no much players avaliable i started the game.

    In the first few seconds i see an player running and crossing a door and i'm in his back.
    I just start running in his direction as i'm in his back he is not seeing me.
    What happen is when i cross the door he is aiming in my direction and shooting!

    Seeing the replay the player by nothing has just stop going in the direction and returning back to my direction aiming down.
    When I cross the door he just shot.

    Ok, coincidences happen.
    I play for more a few minutes and the player is the TOP in the team with zero deaths.

    OK, the player can be a super skilled guy with a long time of play in the map.

    But in the end what happens is that games like that doens't attrack new players and some old players that just enjoy a good action FPS giveup.

    There is a minority of super/mega/power players that must play in dedicated rooms with only themselves.

    Maybe we merelly mortals with normal skills deserve a game that we can play with fun.

    Just forget to buy this game.
    You will only see a lot of cheaters or super power players that you won't have fun.    … Expand

    The spawn engine is absolutely terrible. The graphics are completely outdated compared to "other" titles. Resource usage is insane which is to be expected from a production line franchise. Infinity Ward brought me into the CoD Franchise and forced me to leave with this pile of crap. Thank you for curing the addiction.

On top of that I cannot believe how many cut scenes and animations there were in the game that literally got copy & pasted from MW2 & MW3. I have been saying it for years, Infinity Ward is dead. Activision needs to let Treyarch take on as full time lead developer, then let SledgehammerAfter playing threw both the Xbox 360 & Xbox One versions of the game... I am simply not impressed.     for example: mission 1: you won't find any dead bodies or survivors after the attack but before that you can see lots of people screaming & running around the street. So where did they go?

    2) Stealth is pathetic. for example
    In mission 2nd or 3rd: the german shepherd has to crawl around & kill every body in a stealthy manner.. How can 1 not find a dead body or even hear the screams of the tangos being killed ? Its a dog bite you get plenty of time to scream.

    3)No decision making.. This has been my complain since long time.. Modern games (especially post 2008) has started giving an option to take your decisions & that would change the result & rewards of the game but there is no such thing in COD

    4) Can't built my own weapon in single player: there is no option to attach a single thing on my weapon. The only option to get what you desire is to find a desired weapon with desired attachment. & what are the odds of that ?

    5) the only 1 point I give to this game is because of cinematic kills in few missions which looks really good. but again If I want to see such cinematic's, I would watch some good movie for substantially lower cost

    6) Not much new In the multi-player section as well..

This game is using the same engine from Modern Warfare 2/3. The graphics still look like early Xbox 360/ps3 game from 2008. There aren't even dynamic lighting effects! This would be fine in an early ps2 game from 2001, but this is 2013. This is inexcusable for a "New Gen" game (using that term, VERY loosely.") The gameplay can be whittled down to a checklist of features we have grown to expect from Call of duty games post MW2. Short, linear, and haphazardly thrown together single player campaign with a poorly written, rehashed and generic story and no character development? Check . Multiplayer filled with hackers, lag and the same respawning problems that have plagued the series since Black ops? Check. Multiplayer maps and lobbies that aren't conducive to the style that online FPS games should be played in (I.E. Campers, jerks and little kids that shouldn't be playing M rated games?) check and check. A severe lack of innovation outside of one or two new game modes, and different weapons. uh check. A game poorly optimized for pc with no fov slider and fps cap, clearly ported as an afterthought by a company that doesn't care about pc gamers. Mother flippin' check! When the biggest innovation in your game is being able to play as a woman (something that could have and should have been added 4 games ago) its time to rethink your development techniques. And to think that i had so much hope for this franchise after modern warfare, to think that I thought that this would be the go to franchise for innovation in the often stale genre of shooters for years to come. Call of Duty is like a metal band that gets a cult following in the L.A underground scene, then as soon as they get a recording contract start putting out mainstream pop songs for $. And will call of duty ever change? Hell no, because they can keep milking this cash cow with minimum effort as long as people have horrible taste in video games. What happened to the old call of duty? Where is the robust single player campaign with bold set pieces and likable, developed characters? Now what do we get? A doge? Wow. Such great, many campaign much camping. I would say don't play this game, instead play Battlefield or halo or (enter name of x shooter here) but the fact is that they're all just copy and paste, cash ins on a franchise name with lackluster single player campaigns expecting the multiplayer to carry them . If you want to play a fun shooter with some innovation, start a new character on Fallout 3, or try splinter cell blacklist, Hell even gears of war would be better than this crap. The gaming industry needs less greedy, lazy franchises like this and more games with creativity and imagination like Rayman origins/legends, Muramasa: The demon blade and ni no kuni. This game only gets a 1 in my book because its functional (most of the time) otherwise it would be a zero.     If you want an actual FPS get Counter Strike: GO on PC or Battlefield: Bad Company 2/Battlefield 4.

    Now that I am calming down a bit let me spin you a tale of love, adventure, and ultimate disillusionment.

    Once upon a time I was twelve years old or so and I played a lot of Age of Mythology. Some of my clan mates played the original Call of Duty back before any of the sequels hit the scene.

    One day I was at Walmart with my dad a bit after my birthday. I had some birthday money and I said I wanted to buy a game in the electronics section. When I returned I was holding, in my little innocent hands, the first Call of Duty game. On the cover was some dude with a gun wearing a helmet and some explosions going off and stuff. My dad thought about it for a second and shrugged, "I guess you're old enough now".

    And so it began. It was my first FPS game and I was hooked quickly. I fondly remember hanging out in Pavlov's House with my Mosin-Nagant and lancing down the advancing enemy Nazis. Actually I liked even more to hang out in that little building to the side of Pavlov's House that no one ever goes in. I had a stealthy play-style and I liked to go around the back of my enemies and shoot them up without them knowing where I was. Those were the days...

    Next came Call of Duty United Offensive, one of only two CoD games since the first that was actually innovative.

    Then CoD2. Better graphics, same great gameplay, good maps. Not very innovative but nonetheless a good update to the series.

    CoD3??? That was a thing?

    Then came Modern Warfare. I liked the first MW game quite a bit. It still felt pretty tactical to me. It was a fairly good translation of classic CoD gameplay to a modern setting. Unfortunately this game somehow attracted a lot of very annoying players.

    MW2, An OK game. I never bought it, but my roommate had it and we played some. This was the first CoD game I played that I didn't feel compelled to buy. It seemed like they had struck a pretty good formula in MW1 and then sat down and thought, "well crap, what do we do to make another game now? I guess we just have to keep adding crap" and that made MW2 a sort of bloated version of MW1 with its super annoying killstreak bonus system. The maps also got tighter and my stealthy play-style wasn't as rewarding.

    I got MW3 for Christmas just a couple of years ago when I was 19 I suppose. I played it for 2 or 3 hours and have not played it since. What made it suck so much worse than MW2, which was already really not that great, was the further shift in style towards a fast paced twitch shooter where everyone just runs in each others faces and trades kills. The multiplayer experience had no depth whatsoever. It was dumb. I went back to playing Reach and MW1 on the same day.

    Now Ghosts... Ghosts takes this trend and continues it and I have to believe it is the conclusion of this downward spiral because as far as I'm concerned it can't get much worse. It's just people jumping on each other while holding guns. It's obnoxious.

    (I know I technically missed mentioning like 5 other CoD games too)

    I haven't even talked about campaign but it was actually pretty good in the first two games. The story was WW2 history, can't really go wrong there, and gameplay was pretty exciting. MW1 was where that ended. Like I said I liked MW1 but the campaign was dumb and it hasn't gotten better in subsequent games.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So here goes my in depth review of multiplayer only, because face it that is the only reason people play COD. So your thrust into a world with future weapons representing copy and paste clones of previous weapons with new textures. You can literally find copy and paste objects from previous installments of COD. Cars are indestructible btw.
    So I play and after a while I get the hang of it and start getting good because yes it does play a bit different. The only thing is that the killstreaks make no sense, except the dog, oh wait should I say wolf. Yes you can change your dog into a wolf. So I go on a miniature rampage and get a ten kill killstreak. Awesome right?! Sadly to say it is not. My "reward" for getting ten kills in a row without dying (if you hate dying 6-8 times in a row do not play this game) is a suit of armor. Sounds cool right? Nope because your armor removes all of your guns. Your left with only a knife. A knife. Yes. A damn knife. So ten kills in a row your reward is to be stripped down to a knife which you already had to start the match with.
    So I say screw that kill streak. Another good game comes. Go on a 12 kill awesomeness. What do I get. I get killed. Yes you get killed. Your own killstreak automatically murders you. And you get a sniper in a helicopter. So you have to drive a helicopter while sniping people who take about 3 shots to kill with a sniper. The dog riley is awesome though because if your character starts with 100 health Riley starts with aboout 800 health or so,
    So forget the killstreaks. Lets get into how the guns shoot work animate whatever. They do not sound like guns. For someone who goes hunting on a regular basis and has used fully automatic weapons these damn things are ridiculous. They sound like potato shooters. Camos are ridiculous. Cats in space camos and rubber duckies.
    Character movement is pretty fluid though and the slide is pretty awesome if you can master it. You can shoot while sliding which kinda makes you feel like Rambo mixed with an old Arnold Scharshanegger movie. Jumping over objects and sprinting is pretty smooth as well.

    So what you have in a single match is guys running around with a knife and indestructible armor, wolves on the battlefield, rubber ducky camos, and snipers in helicopters. Followed up by people sliding and shooting potato shooters.
    I gave it a 1 because of character movement.
    This game reminds me a lot of another game, Team fortress 2. But i am sure that they were not aiming for that when they made this game so that is why i gave it such a low score.

Since Treyacrch did a way better job designing part of the COD franchise. I've been in love with the way Treyarch handled part of the series, and I will continue to buy their games. It takes forever to find a lobby.I'm a fan of both BF, and COD, but bf4, and this ghosts, are awful. If you are planning to get this, don't. There is so much lag, the graphics are good, only if you have a really good computer to run it. I have a really good computer, I can barely run it at full graphics without it chopping up. I run every other game on my computer MAX graphics and still get 60-80 FPS. Even Assassins Creed. On top of all that, the guns are stupid. Once again, everyone picks the top gun, and nothing else. Since you will get outgunned every single time. The hit detection is great, the lag is what makes that look like **** I normally don't spend time writing reviews, but this game is terrible. I recommend it to no one. Not even COD fans. The reviews that are good, after playing this game, and giving it the benefit of the doubt, I regret listening to the good reviews. They honestly must be casual gamer's. The only thing I like, is the design behind the create-a-class. Please don't get this game. I wasted my money on the DLC like an idiot.… Expand

    1 for the beginning of the campaign which wasn't bad. After that you just run and run. I left the game after first shootings because this game is GARBAGE. You can't possibly play this game with a keyboard and a mouse, because there is some really weird garbage mouse acceleration that you cannot turn off.
    Conclusion: Whatever the gameplay is, it is UNPLAYABLE.

    Only 65 degree field of view? Which cannot be adjusted!!?? WTF Activi$ion?! Do you know is 2013 and most of us use 16:9 widescreen monitors?!! This is a major fail!

    MP is crazy as always I find the standard MP unplayable the only one that I can cope with is hardcore. But that is a let down too due to very limited number of maps and game types you can use.

    Customization is minimal I don't really care for it but is worse even than BLOPS 1.

    The maps I played so far are minuscule the only big map is on standard game type only which I find unplayable to get a kill you need to hit 4-5 times.

    I will persevere with some of the other new game types, however this is turning to be not just the worst CoD, but just a bad game in general.

    If you have the game and also have CoD 4 fire that up and check out the MP gameplay. It still beats this hands down.    … Expand

    Each current game runs on my computer and looks good.
    CoD Ghosts is jerky and still looks blurry.
    It has 30 GB of hard disk space and supplies a poor graphic.
    The MP is nice by the facilities here, but far too ugly.
    So an expensive game and so little value.

    Modern Warfare 2 was the worst PC port ever made. This one is somehow worse. It is so buggy, broken, and otherwise shoddy. This game is worse than Aliens: Colonial Marines.

    not sure why i spent my money again with good hopes that it will turn out good, but i got disappointed for the last time, thats for sure. never again call of duty!

Since I have almost nothing positive to say about this game, I will instead put a list of suggestions here in the hopes that the devs will read my suggestions, which will hopefully at least help in getting their creative juices flowing again because they haven't really added anything worthwhile to this series since COD4.

    -MOAR players in MP! This is one thing I really miss about COD4. I always disliked the ridiculous amount of cheap deaths in the console versions of these games and now the same is true for the PC versions. In COD4 for PC, when there were more players in a match, you would almost always spawn near your own players. This was because the available spawns were limited to somewhere farther away on the map since players on your team were almost always too close to spawn points (which forced the spawn algorithm to avoid using them) behind/near you. This also prevents people from running around too much and getting behind you since being in the open for too long would always lead to a quick death when there were more players in a match.

    -Bigger maps (and ones that make camo/ghillie suits useful the maps in newer games don't seem to have the vegetation that the older games had, meaning ghillie suits were either pointless or not even used in the game).

    -Better sound/graphics. To this day, the greys and dark greens of the old COD's give a much grittier feel. The silly bright colors make it feel too arcadey, and make it seem like a paintball match.

    -Destructible/dynamic environments. Maybe not on the scale of the BF games, but it would add complexity to the gameplay without taking away from the immediate accessibility these games have always had.

    -A WELL WRITTEN storyline that isn't something so Michael-Bay-esque and over-the-top ridiculous, as well as continuity between games (a la Mass Effect).

    -Sandbox elements that still keep the game relatively linear (This is the COD style), while still allowing you to approach a SP Mission the way you want to.    … Expand

Then I realized that secondary weapons are pointless unless you're out of ammo in your primary because you die so ridiculously fast in this game that weapon switching during a firefight just means you're already dead. It's just like any of the other modern warfare series of games. Treyarch really stepped up with blops 1 and then again with blops 2. And yet these idiots at Infinity Ward just screw it all up and take 10 steps back from what Treyarch was doing with PC CoD.
    I'm so disappointed after only 3 hours of playing I have no desire to pick this game up again. Everything that was good about Infinity Ward is now over at Respawn making Titanfall anyways. Maybe they will blow CoD away and people will look back and remember this series that took advantage of so many players. How they promised the world and barely gave us anything when it came time to deliver. CoD is officially a two year title for me from now on as long as Infinity Ward keeps bring this crap in the off season.     It is capped att 92fps witch is verry easy to reach because the graphics is terrible eaven on the highest settings. Do NOT buy this game u will regret it. 60$ down the toilet

The minimum requirements need at least 6GB of RAM and I only have 4GB of RAM on my system. Since when does a game need so much RAM? I will not upgrade my RAM just to play ONE game.
