All of the variation feels pretty hollow, for sure, but the design of the game compliments what that variation lacks. All in all, it’s a pretty standard auto-runner that also just happens to have Bubsy in it.

Beneath the bland mascot lurks a decent arcade game.

It should be clear byBubsy: Paws on Fire is a competent, well-made game that should sufficiently please both auto-runner fans and Bubsy fans. It should be clear by now that the game, like Choice Provision's other specialties, is an auto-runner style game, not a platformer, so it might not be everyone's cup of tea. But overall, it's pretty fun. It's a simple game, nothing revolutionary, but well done, polished, and pays a lot of attention to Bubsy's history as well. There's a sufficient amount of content for the price (though I personally might aim for a sale), the graphics are good, and it runs and plays smoothly, making this not only one of, if not the best Bubsy game ever, but a reasonably good game overall. If you liked any of the games in the Runner series, are looking for a fun replayable but simple romp, or if you like Bubsy and just want to support an underdog... well, undercat I guess, I'd definitely say it's worth a play. Can't rebind the keyboard controls. This is unacceptable in this time and age.
