A game that pushes VR’s boundaries. Strange, playful and committed to creativity, but intense if you're new to VR.

Bonelab is a near-perfect blend of sandbox and narrative gameplay that stretches the technical limits of the Quest 2. Its heavily physics-based gameplay is ground-breaking in many ways, offering ways for creative players to dispatch enemies like never before. Be warned, though, that this intense game isn't for the faint of heart or stomach and will make many people motion sick with its intense movements.

Balance issues in combat and puzzles make Bonelab more of a physics playground with mod support than a well-done VR shooter.

Bonelab is similar to its predecessor in key ways—both the good and the bad. The game's physics driven world can be refreshingly immersive in the way that almost everything interacts together. But physics sometimes make the game less fun and even frustrating to play, especially when it comes to the game's many climbing segments. While there's lots on offer, including a campaign and several replayable mini-modes, they all suffer from the same core problems which is boring enemies with little variety, poor encounter & puzzle design, and bland weapons. In lieu of having those things provided for you, you'll have to extract your own fun by challenging yourself to execute stylish kills and physics-shenanigans with the game's all-you-can eat slo-mo feature. While the game repeats most of Boneworks key issues, this time around if offers proper modding support which could improve things significantly— that is... if the game's community is willing to spend the time building the toys this sandbox should have had from the start.

BONELAB is an incredibly interesting piece of tech with a terrible shooter holding it back. The physics barely work, the mechanics are cumbersome, and the puzzles are unintuitive and frustrating. There are a few moments where the combat can shine, but that’s not enough to make the game worth it.

Even if the lore of Bonelab is a bit difficult to understand, just watch a video to find that it is wonderful and very advanced.
The shooting, the physics, the immersion and the fights are incredible, and even more if you are a regular Vr game player. If you start being bored by this game, which is understandable, a lot of mods are available. You can download new maps, new guns, new mobs... and this is not the end, it's more like the beginning. Thanks to Stress Level Zero for developing incredible vr games and creating amazing worlds. Everything is good in this game.

The only Con is that the game is a bit abandoned, its probally because its mostly created for having fun on sandbox,

Also havee to say that the game feels like a re texture of boneworks with a bit of new mechanics.

My most anticipated VR game by a mile is probably one of the most broken experiences I have ever played. For every moment of greatnessMy most anticipated VR game by a mile is probably one of the most broken experiences I have ever played. For every moment of greatness bonelab achieves it’s marred but terrible glitches, poor design choices and overall what can only be described as lazy development. The tools it gives to the community are priceless and will no doubt lead to the creations of incredible experiences from the amazing modding community. But from a gameplay perspective what stress level zero has put together is bad, honestly it’s terrible.
There will be moments of joy but those highs only serve to amplify the crushing lows that you will experience time and time again.

This isn’t a review bomb, I finished this game and I wanted so bad to love it, I kept hoping for it to get better, I kept hoping for it to function properly but time and time again it failed. The community has already created amazing things, but a game should be reviewed based on what the developers delivered from a gameplay perspective and in that regard bonelab has no redeeming qualities.
