Dark, disturbing, unsettling -- Beckett is a powerful narrative adventure game that gets under your skin and makes you question everything about yourself and the very nature of reality.
The game is a single-player, point-and-click style experience that lasts around 3 hours. But it will be in your head for a long time after.

We made Beckett as a story that could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best of literature, theatre and independent world cinema. It won the Games category in the 2018 BAFTA Scotland awards, made various game-of-the-year lists (2018) and was made part of V&A Dundee's permanent gallery collection.

You could call it a psychological horror. You could call it an anti-love story. You could call it a surrealist nightmare. Beckett is a disturbing, unique experience that will make you question what it is to exist.

The game puts reality under the spotlight, drawing you into a missing person's case set in a dark and unforgiving world. Our main character, Beckett, morns the loss of his wife - she was everything to him, but time has passed and life has lost meaning. Then there's the City, which plays with Beckett like cat with a baby bird, making him act against his will. You must take control, explore, navigate, interact, talk, defy... we're all memories waiting to happen, we're all memories waiting to fade.

Beckett is a surreal experience, but a wonderfully unique take on the point-and-click style adventure that makes the delivery of the gripping story far more digestible for a wider audience. Anyone that enjoys an engaging tale but may be put off by the idea of playing in game form should reconsider this as it is perfect to jump straight in without any trouble, and the dynamic way the story changes dependent on certain choices makes it all the more enjoyable.

    THE DEAD DON'T CARE
Beckett is a 2018 point & click, graphic adventure, even maybe a visual novel and existentialist videogame developed by The Secret Experiment. Behind of this enterprise is Simon Meek, who along with The story Mechachins, gave life to a digital adaptation of the homonimous John Buchan's spy thriller book, The 39 Steps.
WE'RE HERE HERE NOT BECAUSE OF OUR CHOOSING
Becket is a journey of individuals. Through this man, -who’s disgusted, who’s utter existence at present time is solemnly corroded by decay and nostalgia of an idealized future that died with the years; a gaze upon what was already lived, understood and disappointing- we see a city full of others. Beckett, and old man, thinks of deceased people. Beckett. He once loved. He thinks of the times when he was soft and naïve. Beckett, poor, poor Beckett. He understands the consequences of doing human contact, of feeling something and above all, to be part of the psycological framework in other people's minds. In the mind of He/She/It, in some moment in particular, i am an emotion. You don't exist.

Simon Meek's work, more than a video game, is a story telled in different platforms. A Burroughsian reality that has all the properties of our own. From the role in plot, everything is pernicious, everyone is threat, to the point that the only real ?human character are you; the otherness depiction is
