This game demonizes and dehumanizes some hero's while completely fabricating story lines to be inclusive. Gone are the days of Battlefield, COD, and MOH giving a damn about historically accurate battles. The neutered mechanics really made matters worse. Nothing about this game is 8/10. The mechanics are bad, it's broken and not improving, it's maps are big and empty with 15 sec re-spawn times on supposedly fast paced multiplayer, even the menus are trash and overly complicated. If it had at least 1 true story, and stopped misrepresenting EVEN THE GOOD GUYS as racist, sexist, thugs who did nothing but take all the credit, I would be willing to recommend a rental of this game..... If you buy this as a gift, give it to someone you hate. Other wise, stay far far away from this trash. Worst 3 hours of my year.… Expand

    I really enjoyed Bad company 2, and Battlefield 4 wasn't too bad either. But this took the same road as Battlefield 1, open maps where every time you turn around you are being hit from a different location. It's just a giant cluster f***. Теперь я могу поставить оценку выше 0. При всех недостатках (отвратительный релиз, малое количества контента, ужасной поддержка и огромное количество багов) BATTLEFIELD V отлично играется за счет прекрасной стрельбы, хорошегоНу что же, спустя полгода после релиза большую часть критичных багов вылечили и в игру хотя бы можно играть, какой большой подарок для фаната серии не правда ли).     If you listed 10 "Iconic WW2 things" about 3 of those would be in this multi-million dollar WW2 game. They wanted to "focus on the untold stories of ww2" and put a girl with a robot arm on the box cover. I've put about 80 hours into BF5 and I lost count of the hackers, and I mean legitimate hackers, people with 80+ kills and 0-2 deaths. EA doesn't care about PC at all.

The only good thing is the gunplay (multiplayer), but that really cannot actually be enjoyed, because of the things I've listed earlier.

I am very enjoy to play Battlfield 1(i think its my favorite). Battlfield V its a unfinished, lagging and unbalanced piece of **** Its not worth money because it is a defective beta test game.I also want to note that for the sake of tolerance the game rewrite history.     The lag in this game is something else. And when I say lag, I mean the lag compensation from the game. If you're in cover? Guess what, you're out in the open on the enemy's screen, they will see you, and they will kill you.

    There's a setting that changes the foliage setting, which affects the render distance of said foliage. In a competitive game. In a shooter. With some maps that have up to 50% of nothing but corn fields. What are they thinking, truly?

    Some updates will reset your weapon loadouts. Some updates will introduce new bugs. But either way, enjoy the 40GB+ download. But hey, at least they managed to set up their in-game store correctly.

    Please, please take my advice. If you wish to waste your money, please spend it anywhere else than here. Anywhere else. Take someone out for a date. Throw the money into a toilet. I don't care. But even that will give you more satisfaction than playing this grindfest, sorry excuse of a product. Even buying Souljaboy's gaming console would be a better investment.    … Expand

    This game from launch is lacking content, the stories are OK. Combat can be fun, but when the game is lacking content, the combat won't keep people around. The gameplay needs work, and the single player AI is crap.

    - single player story: played it on "mid" in 8h - on hard its a 10h-story.
    - story is "blahh" (german for .. "blahh") sometimes enjoyable ... sometimes anoying like old chewing gum. Multiplayer: (bought the game for MP) - ALL (!!) maps are way to small for the numbers (64 or 32 .... ) - every map has to much silly spots to "hide" and shot 5 dudes in a row from    Long story short:

    "short time playtime -> event -> achivment -> short time playtime -> event -> achivment"

    Я очень оскорблён таким коверканием истории второй мировой. Для меня это кажется совсем неприемлимым. По моему мнению, такая игра не заслуживает таких оценки от критиков. Да и даже оценка от игроков завышена(выше моё мнение, а не утверждения. Единственное утверждение, это что игра противоречит действительности)Я очень оскорблён таким коверканием истории второй мировой. Для меня это кажется совсем неприемлимым.     The game had a semi-stable release (compared to BF4 PC) and was actually very fun despite the game-breaking bugs that plague the experience. Patch after patch DICE releases "new content" and "bug fixes" (which essentially re-break the game to a state worse than before) through their live service, Tides of War. This is where I see the main issue is. On paper, I can see how Tides of War can be a very immersive experience; DICE wants to bring the players along a narrative journey throughout World War II as they release new maps and content to encapsulate the attention of players through the life cycle of the game. However, the execution of this live service system has been THE WORST I have ever seen from a Triple A Developer/Publisher (Not a surprise, its EA).

    At launch, there were eight maps with SIX game modes (3 of which are unpopular with the PC community) which resulted in a severe content drought and a loss of interest from many players. The game being in an almost pre-Alpha state did not help with its publicity either. Game-breaking bugs, rampant hacking, and the Deluxe Edition SCAM has tarnished the once highly acclaimed Battlefield franchise. There is a dire lack of communication and clarity from DICE to the community which becomes extremely frustrating when players want to know what they are promised in the Tides of War service after being extorted 60 dollars for a far-from-finished product. The most recent patch, as of the writing of this review, is Chapter 2: Lightning Strike which introduces many of the game-breaking bug fixes and "new content" (no new maps until March???). Once again, the bug fixes, while some did work to improve the experience, actually broke the game even more than before. This is absolutely ridiculous and SHAMEFUL that a Triple A company such as DICE, with some of the most prestigious developers of the industry, would dare release a product in such a dismal state. The content that players expected at the release of a new Chapter have either been pushed back or have a big fat SOON slapped onto it. ie Rush, Greece Campaign, Tank-Busting Vehicles, Combined Arms, Firestorm. Everything is just SOON and when the products come out they are either broken or completely below expectations.

    I genuinely wanted to like this game and support it in its entirety, but seeing the toxic practices of EA and the downward slope of the Battlefield franchise is extremely disheartening. The Battlefield V memes making fun of this game have been more well made and thought out than this dumpster fire. The hopeful optimism I had from the first time I have heard of Battlefield V is long gone and now I just dread where the rest of this game's life cycle as well as the future of Battlefield games are going. Aside from the amazing sound design and the slightly improved graphics compared to Battlefield 1, Battlefield V ultimately is a husk of what previous games in the franchise were. The game is simply unfinished, rushed, and obviously marketed to be a money-grab for those foolish enough to fall for their ploy. I completely regret my decision to purchase and support this game and I am ashamed to call myself a Battlefield fan. There is a lot of potential in this game that is overshadowed by greed and an effortless production for one of their main franchises.I don't know if EA will change their vile practices or better, if DICE will escape their grasp, but I really hope that the same mistakes they made in Battlefield V will not be reflected in future Battlefield games.    … Expand

    really unbalanced game, has nothing to offer and barely has any guns or items to chose from, sadly the game is overrun by cheaters like wallhackers and aimbotters, starting guns also barely scratch the enemy and will not even help you survive, higher ranks also have camoflauge that makes them blend in more and giving them better guns, only thing you can do is be a squire for your teammatesreally unbalanced game, has nothing to offer and barely has any guns or items to chose from, sadly the game is overrun by cheaters like wallhackers and aimbotters, starting guns also barely scratch the enemy and will not even help you survive, higher ranks also have camoflauge that makes them blend in more and giving them better guns, only thing you can do is be a squire for your teammates and avoid combat, rarely even getting a kill(this being said as an old Battlefield player who enjoyed the whole Battlefield series) you should expect to get at least balance, this game is a waste of time and money, not worth buying, this one goes in the trash, back to Battlefield 4, i guess?… Expand

    Once new patch comes, they change everything about game experience(weapons, ttk, balance, graphic, game mode etc...)
    This is really annoying me. Also lot of bugs still exist in spite of after many update. This is the worst game in the Battlefield history.Even the BFH is still better than it Lastly, this    3 months have passed since official released, but seems like still open beta.

The gun play sucks , half or more of the weapons are completely useless, bipeds can not deploy, time to death is extremely fast, you cannot distinquish the enemy players from the background, you cannot even lie down half of the time... the maps areThis is the worst battlefield game I have played. The developer's apparent obsession with "unknown battles" leaves almost all of the iconic WWII locations, weapons, and armies absent. The weapons that are offered feel similar to each other and the factif you're a fan of the Battlefield franchise, this is not the game for you. While BFV is graphically enticing, I have found the game to be soulless, like a generic shooter with WWII skins. The developer's apparent obsession with "unknown battles" leaves almost all of the iconic WWII locations, weapons, and armies absent. The weapons that are offered feel similar to each other and the fact that players can choose whatever weapon they like regardless of side makes the game less immersive. Since WWII titles are so saturated, a franchise like Battlefield should offer players some sense of nostalgia, and BFV provides very little. Despite having purchased the game at launch, i'm increasingly uninterested in playing it, and find that the "updates" offer nothing exciting. Hopefully the devs will take a course correction get the franchise back on the rails. The raw elements of a great game are all present, but the execution is really lacking.… Expand

    Yeah you literally get nothing when you purchase this game, sure the graphics are good and i got around 100 hours of game play.
    i have been playing battlefield games since bad company but this game misses so much of that old battlefield feel.
    The game has been out for a while now and the only thing we got was battle royale, like ,really dice? no new maps and it is way too few weapons

    As far as the changes to multiplayer go, the attrition system is just an awul design decision and completely ruins the ability of someone to play alone in a squad of random players. Don't have any real life friends who play battlefield? Tough tiddies then, the game will hang you out to dry.

    The fortification system is like a building simulator for 5 year olds. The most boring part of a battlefield game in 16 years of the series. AIn't no one gonna be doing that DICE who has even the slightest interest in an actual "first person shooter" hint; the clue is in the name "shooter".

    The enemy players are almost completely invisible unless you have bionic eyes, and especially once you start shooting at then or they start shooting at you. There are no "feels" in the gameplay whatsoever when you can't make out a target and as such the core gameplay feels completely soulless. It's a complete camp-fest with no one able to move anywhere and the person who just snaps first due to lack of patience (or boredom) and dares to walk somewhere into the open gets inst-killed by someone laid prone 5 miles away. What great gameplay. /s Gone are the tactical map layouts with interesting lanes and cover. Let me guess..... I'm supposed to be fortifying, right? Yeah, you can keep that boring crap.

    The audio, which is normally a trademark of DICE quality, is absolutely garbage and sounds like it has been done by an indie dev team on extremely low budget. Especially the weapon sounds and the environmental sounds of footsteps and bullets landing near you. There is ZERO atmosphere in the game.

    I don't know why everyone praises the graphics, DICE like to tank your framerate alright, as they load more and more graphical processes into each new game in the series, but they forget that good graphics also need good art, good visibility and good aesthetic design that is CAREFULLY CONSIDERED FOR THE TYPE OF GAME IT IS, and this game just looks like a big ugly mess that you can't see sweet FA in with a forced crappy Anti-Aliasing method blurring everything further. In a first person shooter! There's a reason why CS:GO, Fortnite and other games with technically "low quality" graphics are the most played shooters - tip, it helps to bloody see what you are doing!

    Battlefield is no longer battlefield. Full of bugs that render your game useless until you restart, server issues in almost every gaming session (I have extremely fast internet, so it's not me), I get shot around barricades and corners even though I already ran through them, etc. Battlefield 3 seemed to be last real one.

    So many fundamental FPS features are missing or butchered, things that used to be in older Battlefield games. The remaining experience is warped to chase after COD and CS playerbases (and later, Battle Royale I'm sure). Battlefield has lost its identity, leaving it a broken and awkward mess.

    The game was bought on the 15th (deluxe version). After 6 days instead of a patch with bug fixes (Unable to connect to EA servers 2000) and many other bugs that do not even allow to play, they launch another sale in origin... They threw the owners of bf1 with premium purchased at the game release, now they just ignore. DICE did not live up to trust... Twice

    This game makes my PC loud despite me having an i5 9th gen and an rtx 2070 with 16gb of ram. If I run it at low my pc is still loud. The graphics is probably the thing making my pc loud. Its like this game wants you to get the worlds fastest pc to play it.

    Objectively no but if you havent played previous BF titles probably you will be impressed about destruction, vehicles, classes and other many many things BF is known for.
    BF:V compared to previous BF has less content at launch, less weapons (weapons copied from BF1 arent counting in overall) and majority of things that DICE was advertising (Battle Royale for example) will come in March (almost 5 months after release!).
    In this "best Battlefield" game vehicles are trash. If you were dreaming about destroying enemy team with mighty Tiger tank you will be dissapointed. Tanks are paper made and the only way to survive in them is camping because assault soldier equiped with panzerfaust will destroy you pretty fast before you will escape.
    Medic class is now useless because now every squadmate (not teammate - keep that in mind) can revive you and its killing the whole idea of this class. The worse thing is that now you can keep small medkit for bad moments and you dont need medic for this because you can pick up it from supply station or just spawn with it.
    Big ammo and medic boxes are useless, Its not filled with limited count of ammo pouches but with only one. When somebody will take ammo from this everybody else need to wait in line for new ammo to spawn..... no words. Faster way to refill ammo is just asking someone to drop you ammo pouch. Boxes are waste of time.

    No, no, no, no. No matter how people who dont know how BF looked before 2010 will be repeating this heresies it still wont be tactical as BF2 or 2142. BF:V hasnt commander mode, hasnt enchanced order system, has only 4 player squads (its too little, BF2 haD 6 and even BF1 which is named as casual had 5 person squads!).
    Remember good old times when you were under heavy fire and your squad leader asked commander for artillery support or doing the sabotage in enemy base by destroying his artillery or UAV as special ops? That was tactical and teambased game. "V" is not even close to this with only "attack" or "defend" order and V1 rocket falling from the sky. If for you teamplay is just sprinting with some random people from flag to flag which we had in BF3, BF4 and BF1 you probably believed in game marketing.
    Ah, I forgot about some stupid mechanic in game that breaks balancing. When some team is losing its getting capture flag time buff and its tickets will be bleeding slower.... no words. Once I had game when we were losing 100-400 and we won 0-70! *another game praising opinion*

    Hardcore? I can say only "maybe". We are living in times where when game has things like weapon recoil or faster TTK than Overwatch is instantly called hardcore xD
    I like weapon recoil in this game but we have problem - with red dot sights (in WW2 lulz) recoil is smaller and even handless person can control it. With iron sights weapon is harder to control.
    The second thing wrong with this are red dot sights in World War 2 game. I know that this technology was used during this war in planes but facts are facts and these sights were introduced for infantry in late 80s. The only reason they are in BF:V is making the aiming easier and *profanity* casual.
    Faster TTK was good idea but in BFV its very bad cause broken TTD, You die too fast. When you start to taking hits its impossible to do anything because you die in a second. No possibility to find out from where enemy is shooting. Game feels like CoD now....
    Here is no 3D spotting which is the greatest thing in this game. But wait. Spotting now is completely gone! Only sniper can now spot with his periscope or flare gun. You cannot spot enemy tank as regular soldier to warn you teammates because spot will not appear on minimap. Teamplay focused as hell...

    Now some cries about WW2 and overall war athmosphere feeling.
    Do you remember epic operations in BF1? Do you remember when DICE said about GREAT OPERATIONS in BFV? Yeah? Now imagine BF1 without epic charges after taking sector, without epic music, epic miracle wins with armored train or blimp. These are grand operations in BFV. No feeling of "great" in this.
    Game hasnt athmosphere of WW2. Its soulless and sometimes they are almost putting political correctness in your mouth.... it even not feels like war anymore. The militaristic feel that we can remember from previous BF titles flies away... now its something similiar to Fortnite (cause of battle royale mechanics and neuter customisation without authentic uniforms and insignias). Im not even writing about things like women in airborne troops because other people wrote enough about this

    Overall I can say that Battlefield V is not Battlefield anymore.... EA and DICE killed it completely.    … Expand

    * Netcode sucks. I need 3-4 shots to kill an enemy but I die very often with one shot because of whatever problems they have with their netcode. * Maps are horrible and congested. You have to rush to very narrow corridors just to die on the other side. There are no flanking paths. Tactical thinking is not possible. *    I loved battlefield 1 but this game is just horrible compared to it:

    * Explosives feel like throwing popcorn. In BF 1 the rocket launcher was great for assault so you could fight longer range targets or campers even if you had an SMG or shotgun equipped. With BF V the rockets are very inaccurate. Also, grenades feel very weak.
    * You run very slow in this game making moving around tedious.
    * I can only play as waman (and you play by default as waman for some classes) but not as a black transgender single mom waman with an abusive husband? I guess EA is racist and sexist against this minority? ;)
    * Again this early battlefield feel of randomly dying from all directions is back which they fixed in BF 1 which at least for me takes the fun out of it.    … Expand

    From maps being boring and linear; to hearing women screaming all the time (nothing says WWII like shrieking women on the front lines!); to HAND GRENADES damaging PATHETIC worthless paper Tanks; to INVINCIBLE bombers that have thousands of hit points and who's tail gunner has about twice as powerful of a gun than the CANNON on FIGHTER planes.

    The bugs; the de-sync; the ridiculous balance of weapons; ground vehicles being worthless and there just for background scenery.

Medic weapons are so ridiculously under powered it's not even funny. I do like that they moved more toward infantry based combat, but at the same time I feel bad for people who like vehicles. The vehicles are slow and clunky and I don't even spend time in them because of it. Where you can customize your player and weapon skins, there is a major lack of actual weapon customization for actual parts that effect gun play. Each class only gets a tiny handful of weapons and there's almost no variety to what you can use per class. Though I don't really care that women are about 75% of the battlefield, it's just that there are times when a lot of people are dying and it basically sounds like a bunch of seagulls are being viciously strangled to death, that kind of takes away from the immersion.

    All in all this game feels empty and it is in no way worth a $60 price tag. The best thing I can recommend is to wait a few months before buying. They have promised to add more content in the coming months for free, so we'll see how that goes, until then, I have refunded the game. Do not forget Origin will let you buy the game and play it for 23 hours from the time you launch it. If you don't go past the full 24 hours you are eligible for a full refund. This 23 hour trial took all of 7 hours for me and I was done with it.    … Expand

So everybody tend to camp in the dark areas and behind corners. This game is more about selling the skins to the players but not about well crafted maps and nice gunplay. Nothing is good in here. I strongly do not recommend this game to any one. There is a nicely crafted (after endless months of tweaking) BF1 out there, there is perfect to play (compared to BF5) BF4 there, so why pay more? **** Dice, **** EA.     There are good things about the game in comparison con previous versions. For example, destruction and bullet penetration is fine. I'm also OK with attrition even though I have no friends and I would much rather play as lone wolf. But I would be able to stand that if it weren't for the complete lack of spotting and insta kills.

    Kills feel satisfying
    Good weapon selection this time around
    Vehicle models (well done) and tank and air combat is fun and requires some skill
    Squad revive and ammo attrition etc is a great addition
    Attempts to get some actual team gameplay back into the game
    No micro transactions and all DLC available to all ++
    Very smooth launch. Easy to get onto regional servers.
    Runs well on a GTX970.

    Cons:
    Rewriting actual historical events and people is not good.
    A full single player campaign would have been great
    Netcode issues, will hopefully be addressed as with all their titles after release.
    Enemy visibility, it's very hard to pick out players, and sometimes they are literally invisible.
    Bombers need to be toned down, add airfields so they need to resupply perhaps like the original games.

    Update: They have already started to patch things so fingers crossed they keep improving this title as it is a beautiful game and has stacks of potential.    … Expand

This is not the fifth part of the Battlefield series - this is DLC to Battlefield 1.     It's just sad. There is no historical accurarcy. Frome game to game battlefield is losing so much from it glory. I prefer battlefied 4 bugy lunch than that *#*!. Some designers at DICE need to educate them selfs about history.

We still haven't seen the return of Commander Mode, but this is definitely a step in the right direction. I'm definitely enjoying my time with this game and I'm hoping that DICE are given enough resources to give the TLC this franchise deserves.… Expand

There's also very little customization---not for the benefit of realism, because in the game you can slap a nydar shotgun sight on almost every rifle or smg, like that was a normal thing back in the day. How about porting the barrel, tuning the recoil spring and bolt for faster or slower cyclic rate, trading rpm for recoil etc. People have been chopping barrels and stocks, attaching diy wooden foregrips, extended magazines or making semiauto handguns fully automatic since the great depression days, just look at John Dillenger's full auto 1911 in 38 super, it was criminally awesome. but none of these cool stuff was in a game that should have them for the sake of gameplay while maintaining realism. Instead they were just too busy putting micro transaction and cosmetics in the game like that could count towards having content.… Expand

    A really great game, gameplay wise, however it's a full price AAA game and it still has fully overpriced micro-transactions. I really miss the times where you unlocked cosmetics with skill and dedication. It's sad to see all those great games failing in delivering a nice and "rewarding" user experience.

    game is terrible hackers/cheaters playfield. don't support this **** game it's worst bf game and if you wan't best skins for you character / weapon you need buy it for REAL money. this game have nothing, no maps, no guns (half them from BF1)... NOTHING but hackers/cheaters. EA/Dice... good job

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
