    - insanely thought out game mechanics (progression system is completely disagreeable, replacing weapons attachments with a CoD perks system, and vehicle progression is haphazard with nonsensical balance of strength, where certain progression paths guarantee an overpowered vehicle, like the Spitfire mk VA left side tree. "Company coins" and its ancestor from BF1 "Warbonds" are just a needless hazing ritual for a new player that serve little to improve gameplay apart from adding grind before unlocking needed perks.

    KEEP AN EYE on company coins as they are not only pure progression currency, but also what you use to purchase skins in the in-game Teen Vogue magaz --ehm, "Armoury".     The game is unfinished and extremely clunky, the content is lacking, the UI is horrible. It should not have been released in such a poor state.

    Battlefield, unlike its competitor Call of Duty, has always been different is the reliability and realism, and now we are presented with a toy shooter with painted characters. Sucked out of the finger conveyor nonsense that has nothing to do with world War II. And there is a assumption that after the release of Battlefield 5 fans of the franchise sharply diminished.

    The worst battlefield ever made..Leave aside all the sjw talks and inaccurate ww2 history,i am not giving 0 because of that but for the GUNPLAY and lack of some iconic ww2 content(americans and russian military    This is just my opinion

    All the fans wanted was a return to the roots,a return to that amazing feeling you had with BC2 BF3 and 4,where the gunpaly was truly amazing and satisfying(at least in bc2 and bf3),but in BfV none of that exist.The gunplay is pathetic,and it doesn't feel real/satisfying at all,it became another generic Cod style shooter,basically all the weapons are the same,shooting them feel the same,no difference and their customization is simply terrible..the single player is awful as well with some of the most stupid AI that i ever seen in the series..No american and russians armies,half of the weapons recycled from BF1 ,most of the animation recycled as well,a well done copy paste job here.
    No effort here to deliver a finished product with quality content
    Bottom line,Battlefield is dead,they finally managed to kill the franchise for good this time..i am happy only because i bought the game when it was on sale for just 27 euro,for more then this price is a rip off    … Expand

    Well, I don't know exactly how hard it would be for these marketing people and these what so called game "journalist" to understand that you don't need to make everything political correct in order to show support to certain subject, alright? There are a lot more way to show support like making donations, make a story line that actually relate to the mater instead of forcefully to make it political correct. just learn from car makers, some of the openly show support to lgbtq community and gender equality which i am totally fine with, but they don't force you to watch a 1min ads talking about equality every time you enter the car, or only paint it in rainbow color to show support. If i wanna watch political propaganda brainwash, i will just go watch tv news.
    Yes, 2018 is a bad year for gamers, fallout 76 is a bad game because I see no effort of making it better from Bethesda, and they failed to deliver what they "promised". Cod bo4 is bad because it has become too far from its root, and the quick cash grabbing practice is just disgusting. BF5 is a whole different story, while the game is okay and has some potential, the publisher and devs are just ignorant and make it to please these political activist aka.some game journalist (with all respect to these hard working programmers who actually physically make the game), and it has gone too far from its customers. Im glad they learned it the hard way but at the same time knowing that they are not going to change anyway...
    In the end, if i get a second chance, I will probably spend the money on some actually creative and interesting game like thief simulator or a premium vehicle in war thunder, and a chick fil a sandwich.    … Expand

    Just a reskin of BF1. Good graphics is everything this game has. It's overpriced, has nothing to do with WW2, gameplay is boring and too simplified, multiplayer is doesn't require teamwork, maps are small, spawns are too quick, everyone is running around shooting each other like in call of duty. Avoid this game, don't be fooled by amazing graphics.

I started with bf1942 and they were doing great for many years but I noticed a drop in effort and quality with bf4 which was barely any different or better from bf3 then bf1 came out I was so happy to go back in time but IT was A TOTAL disappointment multiplayer.     Even worse than BF1 if that is possible. It is bad on pretty much every level. I can't even see my character any longer while trying to customize. Snipers can leap and roll around like an arcade game while still landing head shots. It feels like alpha in every way.

The gameplay is pure frustration most of the time you are dead and dont know why. I am an experienced Player, but this meatgrinder sucks. I would love to give this **** back to dice.     Been playing the BF series since 2002. It has come a long way. In the recent releases, I enjoy BF4 the most, and that remains unchanged thus far. Tanks and planes are just being eroded away in BF1 and now basically stupid in BF5. If you love strictly infantry warfare, this may not bother you. But what made the BF series so vivid are the tanks and planes! Campaign is short, but most peopleBeen playing the BF series since 2002. It has come a long way.     AA is useless, even when you do great on an AA vs a plane they just avoid and heal and are back in the game after like 20 seconds and will avoid that AA turret or just come back to kill you and repeats this.     The customizing of your weapons is poorly implemented. Cosmetic unlocks that don't impact the performance of the gun? Why have them in the game?!

    Strange netcode makes it feel like you're getting hit by a wall of enemy fire, while from their perspective, they're hitting you with a long, sustained rifle burst to take you down. It makes for an odd experience.

    Lots of bugs.

    This is the first Battlefield game I can say is truly bad. I have played Battlefield games since the Wake Island Demo years and years ago. DICE has lost touch with is customers and its finally coming back to bite them in the ass. GET WOKE GO BROKE

    You cant change the past but sure can lie about it for you're own politically motivated agenda thats Dice's new moto, if featuring woman so prominently on the front lines of WW2 when it was almost entirely made up of men is not enough, then rewriting history so that the bravery and actions of 2 commandos squads is completely cut out of an historic military operation so all their work is shown to be done by a single girl up against hundreds of German solders, this is just disgusting taking creative liberties is a common practice to help fit the story being told around a movie, game or a book, but the changes made would be like saying the Normandy landing where lead by woman which we all know is not true.

    Visually the game is as great as Battlefield 1 and plays very much the same except multiplayer has had many changes to create more of a general challenge to normal playstyles, while creating a more of a demand for squad diversity of classes to succeed.

    Don't buy this game so you don't fund companies who call their fan base 'uneducated' for pointing out the obvious lies, women didn't server on the front lines in anywhere near the number of men that were fighting and they certainly didn't let men or woman with prophetic arms fight and those handicapped people with missing arms certainly couldn't fire rifles effectively so they would be a liability, and DICE say its 'authentic'.    … Expand

    This is a very generic shooter & isn't unique like it used to be in the earlier battlefield games.
    The movement is insanely bugged and uncomfortable to control, leading to unpredictable and stupid deaths. Then you have to deal with pathetic laughable spawns that never make sense.
    The maps get very boring with about 1 or 2 interesting maps upon a few playthroughs, then they just become a headache to play.
    The squads are the complete trash as most are locked and the one you get into are usually with players who have no clue how to play the game.
    Don't buy this game, the devs don't care about anyone but the money in their pockets.
    The delusional people who say this game is great and there is nothing wrong most likely never experienced the older battlefield games(BF1,BF2,BF3), This is not the game you want to waste money on, trust me.

    If this wasn't the BF franchise I might have gone easier on it and given it a 5, but this is a franchise that I've loved since the first game, and to see them ruin it more and more by every itteration since BF3 has earned them no leeway.     I tried to approach this game without prejudice, knowing that there are a lot of problems reported since launch - bugs, balancing issues, and the feeling of early access right from the get go. I tried hard, but this is the most unplayable, laughable and content-lacking release in the series yet. The teams are unbalanced to the point where you get landslide victories in every match, getting annihilated by snipers and better-equipped players every time. This game is as annoying as it gets, has little to offer besides laughable bugs, and is also being changed randomly by DICE, especially in terms of the recent TTK change, which nobody quite understands. To sum things up - don't buy it, let alone think about buying it.… Expand

    I first though that this game would have more content like more maps, more single player missions, USSR and Japan even, including battles with these armies, but nope, instead we get tons of useless skins on our weapons and - vehicles.     The first free DLC was recently released, it’s a step in the right direction, but again content is so little, and the upcoming DLCs seems to be the same. The game feels empty, shallow, unfinished and not driven by creativity but by finance. Maybe just maybe there is hope when the last DLC is out.
    And not to mention these animations for dying, reviving or getting revived, it takes forever. These animatons it does not fit into multiplayer, its frustration and stupid.

    Potential was there with amazing graphics, but so wasted, the sales also speaks for itself.    … Expand

The matchmaking in this game is broken, it will never fill a team with new players, I have multiple instances a night of a Domination game that is 4 v 15+ - the game never brings new players into a round.     - no HE / AP distinction
    - the short barrel Panzer IV cant even kill infantry at close range with the smoothbore gun

    Bought it for less than a day at 50% off, refunded immediately.
    This is no doubt another piece of money grab title glued up together with whatever they have in store

Apparently I am no longer in their demographic even though I have played every single other Battlefield game prior to BFV. So I am going to take my uneducated dollars with me and move on to bigger and better games.

The game was exciting and exhilarating.. The Graphics where terrible but the game play was fun and felt like you were actually a soldier on the battlefield. Fans bought the game because of the gameplay and lots of COD fans started turning away from that franchise because it was repetition with the same engine with no skill level.. COD killed the skilled FPS genre. My last favourite COD game was MW2 and after that it just felt like a reskin and was boring. Battlefield 1 was the start of the "Lets be like COD" mentality, Lets reduce the skill level so far down that kids can play it. Then in Battlefield they notice R6:Siege are doing well so they start pinching the Alpha pack idea from that see if EA can get on the band wagon of making money. What EA have forgot is why people are buying skins and putting their money into R6:Siege.. Is Because its a skilled shooter with enjoyable gameplay. Its the gameplay that is key, EA's moto is Make it look shiny and grab the cash, they have forgot what making games is all about.. I Pre-Ordered Battlefield 5 and when i seen the reviews come out it sort of put me off and then my friend paid £10 for a trial of Origin Premier and played the single player campaign and played the multiplayer to death, beforer me and I had paid £70 i decided to cancel my pre order. I then went a purchased Hitman 2 (Which i love) I went and played on my Friends Origin Premier before it ran out and tried Battlefield 5.. and so glad i did and got a better game for my money.. De manera irreal se ve a veces hasta más cantidad de mujeres y negros que de nazis blancos arios... Insólito - Multijugador decepcionante: Los mapas son mediocres y todo lo que es diversidad de armas (esta era importante y no lo otro) es flojo. - Mismo error que Battlefield 1: Campaña muy mala con mini historias de fascículo, cortas, con imprecisión histórica y desperdicio de la temática de la 2ª Guerra Mundial. Parece que para EA y Dice está mal ser blanco, rubio y ario, que hay que meter mujeres y negros en esos lugares (claramente, una bajada de línea). Les creería, pero es la 2ª vez consecutiva que lo hacen. - Censura de símbolos históricos de la Guerra como la de los nazis. Guste o no, forman parte de nuestra historia. -Battle Royale muerto.

    En fin, el mayor pecado de este juego es tener escaso contendido. A las 10 horas ya no sabía qué hacer, se hace repetitivo y aburrido. La campaña es ultra decepcionante.
    Calificación de juego: 4.5. Calificación por politización, campaña de "igualdad y diversidad" en acontecimientos donde no hay lugar a eso, y falta de respeto a la Segunda Guerra Mundial: 2.

The problem is that when scaled to consoles, BFV is a clear visible step backwards compared to BF1. Lighting is almost broken, since it's either too bright or too dark, and everything has a sort of overexposure look to it that makes visibility a hassle and nothing short of rage inducing. Shadows are basically a wormhole into the dark abyss, and enemies sitting two feet away are seemingly invisible. Recent updates made this slightly better, but your mileage may very. Overall, the LODs are also noticeably less detailed on console compared to BF1, with muddy textures and steady pop in that both deceives and distracts you. You'll proceed to engage enemies, only to find that they were behind cover that hadn't rendered in yet upon getting closer. Vegetation also looks bad, not decent, not mediocre, literally terrible. Trees and bushes use mesh patterns, and a lot of the time trees won't render fully. Vegetation also takes a sort of blocky 2D appearance at range.

    The single player experience on BFV is a souless heap of **** with paper thin, shallow characters that aren't developed to any capacity to make you care about them, and they're accompanied by terrible, cringe worthy writing and typical war cliches. The gameplay doesn't get much better, since most missions revolve around you using one man army like stealth tactics around an open area, completing fetch or destroy objectives while taking out seemingly mindless AI.

    Multiplayer is just a giant meh-fest of lost potential. There's a great game somewhere lost in this experience, but its muddled by bugs, lack of content, and forgettable maps. Weapon and class balance is at the worst the franchise has seen, and that's not the result of a faster TTK. Hit detection, server performance, and overall netcode are also subpar, with consoles only featuring 30Hz servers, There's no custom servers, no RSP, and the customization is rather shallow, which leads into my next point below in the next paragraph. This is the only game I've played where I'll steadily deal 130-150 damage on an enemy, only for him to magically 1 frame me. People only have 100 health, but you can sponge 150+ damage into them and still get killed in a single frame by them. It's broken, and the recent "fixes" didn't fix anything. This game is just a mess.

    BFV has the worst progression system of any shooter I've played. The in-game economy is just God awful, and everything is an unnecessary grind. There's very little meaningful customization, and what is there is mostly aesthetic. Unlocking the same couple of skins for each weapon requires a constant grind of tedious assignments like "kill 10 enemies in 1 life while attacking objectives while shooting from the hip", along with a general side objective like "get 60 kills" or "deal 2000 damage". What does this unlock? Why, a muzzle, or a stock, and a muzzle or a stock in one color no less. To unlock full sets, you need to keep completing samey tedious assignments. To add insult to injury, the max level cap is just level 50. Compare that to BF1's base 100 or BF4's 140, and you get my point. The amount of company count, BFV's in-game currency you unlock is very minuscule as well, and unlocking items as small as a grip cost 1500cc on the low end, which is comical. No doubt this is so EA can inject microtransactions or collect on the premium sale of coin. Things like complete outfits, which STILL require tedious assignments to even unlock cost upwards of 15,000cc. You get my point, progression sucks.

    Combined Arms is a travesty and a huge embarrassment to DICE as a studio. It's go here and kill these people co-op on multiplayer maps with mindless bots that sponge bullets and magically 1 hit you. It's dull, mindless, and I don't understand why it was ever even delayed to begin with. Funnier yet, the cutscenes have sound bugs or appear blurry leading into the missions, which is just further lack of polish on a feature that was delayed 3 months; pitiful.

    Overall, this game is bad. It's agenda pushing single player experience is dull with no soul, the multiplayer is broken, unfinished, starving of content, bug filled, and lacking of any polish, and the co-op is literally just a huge "f@ck you" and cherry on top of this whole ****ty experience.

    I love Battlefield, but it's sad to see such a pathetic low after so many highs. What the hell went wrong?    … Expand

    Single player is just horrendously bad, everything feels dulls, forgettable experience and serve no other purpose than to push SJW agenda.

    The game is super buggy. I found myself being stuck between pebbles and broken terrain ad having to re-deploy. There were game modes that bugged out and would never end. The netcode took a step backwards compared to BF1. The menus are an absolute mess, requiring you to go back and forth, clicking on this and that. Even the in game “quit” button still does not work, a known problem from BF1.

    I will admit that the game sounds, graphics and visuals are amazing. The actual gameplay is a decent step forward. But at the end of the day, it is still a mess. I keep asking myself, why does EA keep making the same mistakes over and over.    … Expand

    The campaign is pretty short and divided into 4 parts, which aren't connected directly. Whether the format is good or not, the last 2 stories were kinda enjoyable, but it isn't anything spectacular. I personally didn't enjoy the mechanics in the game itself and found game-play pretty chaotic.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game takes "fast paced" gameplay to an unenjoyable level. Dying so quickly works when respawning is also quick, like Call of Duty. But this game compacts too many elements into not large enough maps.

    Some minor campaign spoilers here.
    The single player campaign? It would've been better just to not have one, than to use the disgusting revisionist versions that were implemented. An entire Norwegian commando team was effectively written out of their own mission, replaced by a "mom and daughter" team that embarked on the mission in ways that don't make sense for reasons that don't make sense at all.

    It also portrays the French as having segregated black soldiers and treated them as less. In actuality, Germans at times would kill all the blacks of captured squads, and there were white French commanders that died for defending their black soldiers. As well some white commanders were killed simply for having black soldiers in their command. This campaign effectively writes ALL of that out of history and portrays the French as just as racist as America was at the time. Revising history to make blacks or women look bad, or taking them out completely and giving credit for accomplishments to someone else simply for their race or gender should NOT be acceptable to any race, white or black, etc, or any gender, man or woman.

    The inclusion of some levels of historical accuracy, enough to know which missions and groups were being portrayed in accordance with the actual WWII, but leaving out and rewriting things to obviously fit an agenda, is just absolutely disgusting to those who did participate in and help out in the war effort.

    Definitely do not buy this game if you haven't already and you respect those who fought in that war. Because this game disrespects them to a great degree, and disrespects history itself, simply to fit the agenda of the game makers. Quite sad.    … Expand

    yes this was explained by free DLC, but that doesnt excuse it, I bought the game now, not after all the DLC came out. If they release a GOTY edition (and thats a big IF) with all the dlc, then i might consider changing my score to reflect that.

    -Its a bUgGy MeSs
    there's no helping this except with the passage of time

    -lack of authenticity and/or accuracy
    This is immersive for some players, but this game didn't do it for me. Which is a shame because there are a lot of games that do like DM or Battlefield 2.

    The campaign is bugged throughout and is not accurate at all. The cutscenes run unstably at 30 FPS, and I have a GTX 1070 as well as an i9. As for historical accuracy, there is none. Apparently a Norwegian lone skier completed Operation Gunnerside all by her lonesome. This is not even to mention that the USSR is not even in the vanilla version of the game, although apperently it will be added as a DLC much like the Russian Empire in BF1. Also I saw people saying that "This is the way DICE envision WW2, they purposefully made small stories without large battles,". But I do not want small stories. I want at least some large battles with hundreds of soldiers running around. From the campaign, it seems that the way DICE envisions WW2 is that it was some small conflict in which effectively infiltrators and partisans won the war. If DICE really wanted to create an alternate appearance to WW2 , then they should have marketed like Battlefield 2142, not as a realistic game like BF1. But I do have to give them the due respect, that they will allow a campaign for the opposite side, something which was not done in BF1. We will just have to wait and see what will happen with that.
    I have not played multiplayer as much as I wanted to because of how bland it became. The maps are not even comparable in size or structure to those in BF1. The gunplay is essentially like that of COD. The bolt action rifles are useless on some maps along with SLRs. They did add better gameplay mechanics, like greater squad integration, building fortifications, and realistic responses to nearby explosions, such as the shock wave knocking you over momentarily. I also am not against the customisation options of the soldiers, like allowing people to play as women, even though these things in general seem to have been initiated by some "progressives" and SJWs. On a side note I honestly do not understand why people do not like being allowed to play as women; in BF1 you were forced to play as a woman if you wanted to be a rifleman for the Russian Empire and no one said anything then.
    But these cool things do not change the fact that each class has about 5 weapons to chose from. I have yet to encounter bugs in the multiplayer side of things, but I have heard people have experienced them there too.
    All in all for an apparently complete AAA game price, we get an incomplete and deficient shooter. Maybe one day we will get to see it in its full glory, but I would expect this to take months to remedy, or longer if DICE are stubborn enough with their politicised views. I do not even know what happened to DICE. BF1 had its problems at launch, but they were not nearly as bad as this.    … Expand

    Но помимо ебанутых борцов за толерантность и равенство, в хуевой игре надо винить EA, которых заворожила сладкая, полная свободы жизнь в богатстве, полученных на агрессивной монополизации. Они слушают не комьюнити, а финансовых аналитиков и инвесторов. И ограничивают время на разработку. BF1 делали более 3 лет, и техническая его составляющая получилась идеальной (как минимум в рамках серии BF). Но в случае с BFV, игру делали меньше 2 лет, в спешке и производственном аде. Из-за этого мы видим бесконечные матчи, нерабочие окна выбора оружия, бесчисленные проблемы с коллизией и многое, многое другое.

    Вместе все эти факторы и создали ту BFV, которую мы лицезреем. Но если бы не они, игра бы получилась отличной — хотя бы из-за стрельбы и физики оружия. Попробуйте найти хотя бы одного человека, который сказал бы, что стрельба в BFV плохая. Это вам не CoD с ее пластмассовой стрельбой.

    Но у нас есть, что есть. Но все же лично я уверен, что через год-два игру приведут в нормальное состояние, как в случае с BF4, которая спустя несколько лет после выхода свободно выдохнула, ведь ее больше не беспокоили бесчисленные технические проблемы. Так что, нам остается лишь ждать — либо исправления BF, либо появления на рынке конкурента, ибо таковых сейчас нет. И да, Call Of Duty проигрывает BF практически по всем параметрам.    … Expand

    The multiplayer modes are riddled with bugs such as the never-ending round, or infinite load screen bugs, and a map rotation that seems to favor 3 or 4 maps, not to mention a troubled net code that has issues registering hits and also gives the feeling that while you can unload a magazine of ammunition into someone and they survive, they in turn can hit you twice and kill you. The maps themselves also have issues. On every map I played I was able to find areas that would allow me to fall under the map where a less honest player would be able to rack up kills in complete safety. These areas on the 2 beta maps (Narvik and Rotterdam) were reported to DICE and they still existed at release. SInce release the places in the other 6 maps have been reported, but with the first wave of bugfixes and updates being delayed, who knows when they will be fixed.    … Expand

    I liked no man's sky at launch, I actually kind of enjoyed myself during the fallout 76 beta I even loved every other battlefield even though I was always bad at the game. But even though I was bad at the games I always enjoyed myself, I can't say that I do the same during battlefield 5.
    I do think that the graphics look good I do    I have never had I game that I had so little fun with.

    2.kill cam is worst ever combined with camping issue gets really annoying
    3.general lack of class and guns balance (losing firefights simply because of weapon used not aim or skill), many useless "filler" weapons as for now
    4.operation gamemode is a fokin pile of **** instead of gradual push on whole frontline its often decided on only a few players actions (picking up and planting bombs?!)
    5.ttd is very short, making firefights less about shooting skill and more about jumping on other players and luck (also 1 frame death bug)
    6.land vechicles are really weak as of now thanks to amount of handhold AT weapons avaiiable
    7.air vs land combat is dog**** again (AA guns don't do **** against bombers, only threaten fighters) therefore need decent fighter player to even attempt combat bombers
    8.fokin screenshake from explosions wont let you aim while ADS (holy **** it happens too often)
    9.maps aren't really fun imo, especially given the destruction levels. Can only enjoy Rotterdam
    10.Game somehow punishes soloplays, and given you can't always get online with your buddies it might ruin your experience    … Expand

    Furthermore historical revisionism in this game is just mind boggling. Especially when we consider that Dice and EA are marketing the game as "historically accurate" and "window to the unseen and untold stories of WW2". Had they actually done that it would have featured e.g. German, Finnish, Italian or Japanese perspective to the WW2 which could have been interesting.

    Instead we now see e.g. 15 year girl act as a replacement to a squad of Norwegian commandos, depiction of British soldiers who volunteered for SBS as lowly criminals and French army as highly incompetent and racist (through e.g. "bigotry of low expectations" and "not giving deserved recognition") towards their colonial volunteer infantry from West Africa. This all is just ridiculous and washes away the actual valuable contributions of e.g. women who worked as nurses and or at ammunition factories.

    From technical perspective this is the prettiest Battlefield game up to date. It sounds good (although I must add that voice acting in this game especially for Germans is quite bad and cartoonish) and runs mostly right apart from the continuing issues of DirectX 12 renderer. I'd like to see Vulkan API support in Frostbite engine and thus in future Battlefield games. There are some bugs but nothing in the scale of BF4 when that game launched. I wasn't able to test the RTX features.

    Technical mastery doesn't save poor gameplay, poor writing which pushes far-left talking points and identity politics, lack of content, bad PR with the community, and just the fact that this isn't very exciting Battlefield game. Despite promises to show something new and interesting BFV just doesn't do anything significantly different than previous Battlefield games. People are better off playing Battlefield 3, 4, 1 and/or Bad Company 2 which are mostly bug fixed and have more interesting content and gameplay options.    … Expand

    It’s far from being ideal but all the glitches and shortcomings don’t ruin the overall fun of Battlefield V’s multiplayer experience. Although the single player portion of the game is not bad at all, I would have been disappointed if I bought the game just for it. [13/2018, p.56]

    In Battlefield V we got back to WW2, but with refined gunplay and death system which works great. There are also little problems such as low number of maps and stability issues, that are taking the fun away, but nothing that can't be fixed.

    A great World War II shooter that will grow and improve. Do not buy the game because of its singleplayer, but if you consider the campaign a bonus to the multiplayer, you will be satisfied. [Issue#291]
