Multiplayer 4/10 Netcode/lag/crashes/server lag, it's all there. I have played to battle rank 20 with more than 50% crashes. I've forwarded my ports, I've re-installed the firmware on my router, I've downloaded the amd beta drivers, I've repaired the game, I've checked every possible fix out there, and I still crash. It's not fun. When I can play, I find myself being killed around corners, through walls, and never beating anyone 1 on 1 at point blank. The only way to get kills is to flank and kill from behind, and even then when I try to, they wind up figuring out I'm shooting them in the back and one shoting me instantly. It's never taken more than 2 bullets, less than a half a second, to kill me, no matter the distance they shoot from. I can't kill anyone 100+ meters before they kill me, it's just not possible. My accuracy on conquest is under 5%, while on domination (close range sneaking up on people) it's 15%. It might be because I suck, but I'm not the only one.

Single player 6/10 I enjoyed it, but to be honest it wasn't action packed. There were moments in the scripted story that were amazing, and I really loved it, but the actual game-play was terrible. I played on normal, and the ai was pathetic. I enjoyed how they tried to flank me every now and then, but it was like shooting fish in a bucket, completely without a point and felt like a grind to the next action packed story. It was a better movie, even though the story-line wasn't really that comprehensible, than it was a fps.

I'll give it an 8 because I'm nice and I really want updates so I can play this damn thing. In the future, please try to fix all these bugs before release, not everyone is as forgiving as me.

Battlefield 4 isn't without its draw backs. As a whole the game is good however the single player aspect of the game is really lacking and far too predictable. The game however is more meant for multiplayer use and in that area it really does exceed all expectations (when it works). The game is riddled with bugs yet they are being fixed gradually. Campaign is pretty short but does offer some fun with the new weapons to unlock. Multi-player is vastly more fun than BF3 for me personally anyway I know alot of people will argue that this is just BF3 with new graphics and it pretty much is but there are alot of systems that have been refined.

Only downside is that mutiplayer is very buggy and this needs to be fixed.

Battlefield 4 brings so little to the table, its near Call of Duty levels of re-hash. and with every crash people lose their experience gained that match.
Randomly people will not get rewarded with experience after the game has ended, either.
I can see other peoples reviews where they say the "audio is top class, perfect" and such.
I can count at least two maps where the sound just cuts out in the middle of the map.

Yes, the game has it's positive sides. But for me, there's too much bugs to be squashed,
balancing to be done, and fine-tuning to be done before it can come close to being all-round
confortable to play. Just my two cents worth.

I wanted to love this game, battlefield is like crack to me, still get my fix online, but single player needed alot more work. Dice should re evaluate for the future before passing off another single player that doesnt make the grade.. The game is better without it (but who buys battlefield for single player anyways...and we know why...)

This game would likely look better and run better if it was not produced for consoles as well. Then it comes to the review. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews, I purchased it when it was on sale 3 weeks ago, what I can say is that even the single player campaign worth the money! (though I have to say the story is ridiculous, and apparently they have no idea on what Chinese government is like today. The story is full of typical western bu**sh** and the story is for China in 70s)

Funny that many ppl were b**ching about the netcode and crashes, b***sh** IMO, It only crashed twice, and the netcode problem only happened 4-5 times for me. Played the game for more than 40 hours. Definitely not like what those haters overly exaggerated about (Or maybe it's the new patches that fixed these problems Idk).

Problems do exist, that's why I gave it an 8.
1, Story is full of typical western bu**sh** abt China like I said. Misleading as hell.
2, Multiplayer unlocks are gone after finishing the single player campaign, come back after several matches tho, but that was very frustrating cuz I thought those unlocks were gone forever.
    3, 75 Ticket bug.
4, Stats won't show up in battle log until, I don't know, 2-3 hours later I guess. A long lag like this is not acceptable.

That being said, this is still an awesome game, not a 10/10 but definitely 8.5/10. Definitely worth ur money I promise you that!

This is the year that BF beats out CoD. I played COd and I'm done and probably not going back again! The only complaint this year for BF is the game feels buggier than the BF3 launch and I'm still getting a lot of lag even on sub 20 ping servers. The Battlelog is even deeper than before and the maps are entertaining so far. 15 hours in and I'm enjoying the ride.

Better than the their current gen console counterparts though I can't talk for next gen since I've yet to experience it.

Campaign: What can I say.... it just sucks. We all know the campaign in these games are usually not good and this game is an example of that. Most of the time you can hardly care less about what's going on and you'll just want to get through the campaign already. To make matters worse, the devs decided to put some multiplayer unlockables in the campaign, meaning you have to play it if you want certain items or guns in the multiplayer. The story itself is just boring and part of that is how you, the main character, is poorly done. You never talk during the game which would be fine if you weren't the squad leader for the majority of the game. Often times you'll get scenes like a commander saying, "I'll answer to the squad leader only" and yet your companions will end up doing the talking for you like your a new trainee just learning the ropes and following along yet your suppose to be veteran and the leader.

Multiplayer: Of you've played Battlefield 3 then you'll know what to expect. Same classes are there though some items have been mixed around. Really like that they added stats to the weapons and actually categorized so if you want a submachine gun you can just go to that. One big drawback that I don't understand why they didn't add it to the game is being able to customize your loadout while waiting for the next game. It doesn't make sense to do it while playing since you rather be playing and helping out your team rather than take time to change your loadout when you could've done it before the game started. The maps are pretty well done though, ranging from big vehicle maps to smaller no vehicles map yet big enough to accommodate a 32 and even 64 man matches.

Biggest problem so far that everyone is mad about are the bugs and crashes that happened during launch. It is really unacceptable especially considering that they've had to delayed their first DLC, though I don't know why there's already a DLC, but the fact that it's been delayed shows how not ready the game was from being released. I can only recommend this game if you manage to get it for cheap like I did for 20$ and if your into FPS were sometimes you just want to jump in and experience some high action shooting.

I dont get why everyone is bashing this game. It is a good game offering a wide variety for the MP FPS player. Anyone who knows BF knows that the SP is just a coaster disc, and while there are some bug issues currently with server disconnects those will we be worked out with subsequent patches. And lets face it all PC releases suffer from balancing and tech issues.

So with all that being said those are the only two reasons why I gave this game a 7 vs 10. There is a ton of fun to be had here and i have thoroughly enjoyed mowing down my enemies in MP. With the new customization options soldier classes are the most diverse they ever have been. The game is beautiful as well and level design is unique and fun. but it does fall short of some of the BF3 maps like metro, and seine. With that being Said DICE has a long track record of providing map packs for its games, and soon the most popular Bf3 maps will be brought to this game on the new frostbite 3 engine.

Don't listen to all the whiners this is a good game and while it may need some patch work to make it great. it's def worth picking up and spending countless of criminal hours mowing down everyone in your path

The wrong for gamers and bf3 users going bf4 is simple:
    1) Bf4 is not a visual stunt and realism compared to bf3 in ultra max settings.
    2) Some maps in Bf4 are empty! you look at Parcels, you look at Shangai. They are empty, sure you have effects like flying paper all around or you can swim under water weewwwwww, cool heh? yet nothing compared to realism of BF3. I do not blame Dice for their choice but console manufacturers to force developers to get to their best with crunched down ultra minimal hardware possible.
3)Yes the game is really expensive, what you call premium is just BF4 with all expansion attached and ready to download when each of these expansion will be available. yet or +$100 compared to 1 year, 1 year and half and bf4 premium drops at 40$ altogether because well gamers are going other horizons and also Dice may want to "annualize" their franchise then what of this 100 dollars worth? just the right to be called premium since beginning with or without all expansions out already.

    Now the good:
    1) The engine seems and appear to diffuse scatter light a bit better in SOME situations compared to bf3 such as the locker room when you go in/out of the indoor tunnel and you get somewhat blinded and everything become contrasty. The engine needs a tweak for that whereas when you stop in the middle if this light diffuse and scattering then the changes stops where they are at and sometime remain as long as you stay on spot instead of diminishing as human eye adapt to light change after a short period of time. Sometime it works well, sometime it does not but those are fixes that will come along the way and it will be something plush and plus to the gameplay and game.
    2) Physx works well if not better than bf3
3)Introduction of hide behind a box and pop to shoot. It is not perfect but fixes will come along.

    Conclusion:
It could have been great and limited itself. Overall a good game but not worth +100$

It is a fun (though frustrating) game... when it doesn't freeze or crash. At the time of this writing I think I have about 15-20% of my games freezing or crashing. Though this is better than the ~50% at launch time, it's still inexcusable for a "finished" product.

Improved gun-play over BF3 and slightly better visuals with well designed maps make this a nice buy. On the downside, you have to go online to play single player and the servers aren't very stable. The game also have frequent crashes which set back progress. Ok so Battlefield 4 is great if you have friends who you can play with. If you don't have friends then it's not that great. Graphics are awesome and all that but the biggest problem is that when you want to play the game there is a 50% chance that EA servers are down or just some other problem. When i think about what has been done better comparing it to bf3 i can count the things on one hand.
    - the squad system and orders combined with the commander adds a little bit more tactical variation to the public games
    - the little "counts as kill" feature if you almost killed a player and he then is shot by somebody else feels good not to have your kill stolen
    - the weapon settings and customizations are more complex and versatile
    THATS IT

i wont list all of the bad things bf4 has introduced but just some major points
    - the whole design feels weaker than bf3 at least, like a bad f2p ripoff
    - vehecles and weapons also feel worse
    - maps are horrible

and to add a nice topping the game is litterally almost unplayable because of gliches, bugs and crashes.

The multiplayer is an updated version of Battlefield 3, that would be ok if it has gotten any better.
At this point in time this is (still after 1,5 months) clearly an unfinished product, every patch changes the feel of the game completely so if you got used to the gameplay its like a slap in the face every three weeks and it is impossible to stay at a certain level at skill.
The maps are not that bad but the game is clearly missing a good Infantry only map, the only thing close to that is Operation Locker but that one isnt called the "Meatgrinder" without a reason (too few routes, too linear).
Levolution looks nice but in the end its just a gimmick and doesnt require any change of tactics, in the most matches the events arent even triggered by the players.
The worst thing is the hit registration, it was not that good in BF3 because of client side hit registration, but in BF4 its beyond acceptable. At first there was the one hit kill bug then hits in the head would have been registered twice leading to your instant death. Trading kills was so common at a certain point it was simply enraging. And after the latest patch hit registration is messed up and sometimes delayed. If you know in which direction a player is moving you just have to shoot there and you will hit him even if the player model on your screen reaches this spot a short period of time later (this was tested in 2m distance) and even works through solid walls.
Hit Registration wasnt the best in all of the Battlefield titles but this is simply unacceptable.
In conclusion Battlefield 4 is simply an unfinished title with a lot of potential but the launch phase of the game has just simply ruined it, as a gamer buying a full price game we can expect a finished game (yeah it can be a little rough around the edges), but this is still in beta phase.

If the game was actually finished the muiltplayer would be amazing and the single play would be better than average. But as it stands on PC I cant play the game because of the buggness of the game. Since I cant play it and non of my friends on PC can play it either it deserves the lowest possible score. In its current state its just another cash grab by EA and a stain on DICE.

The only problem that I have with BF4 is that I cannot play the singleplayer campaign due to the game crashing, while I do have that problem with multiplayer it happens after several hours of gameplay. I really enjoy playing in multiplayer which makes up for the lack of singleplayer.

The gun mechanics are significantly dumbed down, and you will often find yourself getting killed in an instant and that the weapons are overall a bit unbalanced, with the DMR's and the shotguns being absolutely useless compared to the automatic weapons.

The new gun mechanics are easier to pick up, but make the game significantly more shallow. However, there are many new customization options that can prolong the lifetime of the multiplayer. Vehicles remain mostly the same, but the addition of attack jets to conquest and obliteration gamemodes have rendered the so-called "anti-air" jets completely useless.

As for the singleplayer, it has a forgettable storyline and dull shooting sequences. It wont take you more than 3-4 hours to complete it and there are plenty of bugs, just like the multiplayer

The graphics are decent, but just like in Battlefield 3, the color scheme is quite dull.

The game isn't worth 60$, but it's still an OK game.

So here's my take on it....

I just built myself a new gaming rig. I'm running 2 GTX 780s SLI and an i7 4770k. On this rig, BF4 rarely EVER crashes. And I mean RARELY EVER. When I had a 650ti Boost, I was experiencing more crashes, but that was several patches ago. I don't ever have the audio dropping problem anymore either. So they ARE optimizing and patching, but for it to be flawless on everyone's different computers will take a lot of time.

This game is not for the "weak in specs". You need a strong machine to take advantage of this game and its graphics. I get 140 frames per seconds and I can tell you that the game is gorgeous. The movement is fluid and smooth, the audio is great, and I'm having a blast playing with my clan and random squads. BTW, I'm all about the multiplayer, but the campaign is nice too.

Now for the bad (which isn't a deal breaking issue with me). The game's current netcode (the software engineering that is responsible for online play) needs a lot more tweaking. There is a current bug, the '1 shot kill' bug, that was supposed to have been patched a few patches ago and hasn't been. This bug is extremely frustrating and it makes it appear that the person who killed you is using some kind of a cheat. There ARE hackers in this game just like any other PC game, but this bug has caused the entire community to being suspicious of each other and it goes to create a lot of hostility and frustration. I'm one of you above average players and I am now getting consistently "hackusated" almost every day as I improve at BF4. While I take it mostly as a compliment, I have actually been banned by some butt hurt admins who didn't like me killing them repeatedly. Hence why I have started recorded my gameplay and posting to Youtube.

Another issue (for me at least) are that the anti-air vehicles and weapons are too powerful, and helicopters and jets (mainly helicopters) aren't as much fun to fly as in previous titles. The range of these weapons creates a scenario that if more than 1 player on the opposite team are using stingers, IGLAs, air radar missiles or the mobile AA tanks, it is pretty much impossible to fly around the map, and most of the time you will be destroyed as soon as you take off from base (which is unacceptable).

Aside from these 2 complaints, I cannot in good conscience say that this game is anything but great. While it doesn't bring anything really new or groundbreaking to the table (other than levolution which is pretty to look at but usually has a negligible effect on gameplay), it is still a solid FPS game with nice maps, gorgeous visuals and audio and high replay value.

In conclusion, it is worth the $60. The $100+ for Premium is kind of a rip off, you don't get much from it. Be prepared for some multiplayer frustration though, but just keep in mind that it is the netcode and not a hacker 95% of the time and you won't lose too much hair over it.

I really appreciate the changes DICE did (new attachments, scoring for damaging vehicles, light switches, Commander Mode, but the map design could be better (for instants "Operation Locker" a.k.a. "Metro 2.0"). Sometimes it's impossible to play Rush, because a lot of maps enable baserape (but this is a problem we already got in Battlefield 3 and for this the players are to blame), although the map offers more than two ways to get to the objective. At least Battlefield 4 comes with an impressive graphic and levolution is a great feature, which is able to change a whole match.
Eventually, it's a good game, which would be even better if almost everyone could play this game without any bugs etc., but I don't agree with people who say it's just a Battlefield 3 DLC, because it's not.

I agree with the people saying that the game feels sometimes like Battlefield 3.5, but some improvements have been done. Sounds are better, graphics also mildly and the guns behave more realistically.

    Problems this game still has:
-Random crashes every now and then
-Sometimes it's a pain in the ass to get to a server, since the service is not working properly
-Hit detection sometimes drags behind. You run to the cover, get there and die from a shot that should have hit you earlier, if it was going to

Another annoyance is the battlepacks... You're unlocking a weapons utilities, and sometimes you just can't know what you'll get, and quite often the random unlocks just prove to be completely useless...

But all these things aside, the actual gameplay is still nice.

I would have initially have given this game a 4 or 5 out of 10 due to my horrible experiences with it. However, now that they have patched up some of the core, and most aggravating, problems, the game is actually a lot of fun.

I see that several of the views below, the negative ones, bash the levelution system which provides us with the destructibility of each map. I'll have to disagree with many people here about that. From personal experience, I'd say that it makes a lot of difference in how you play the game, if you actually think ahead and take your environment into consideration. If you're one of those people who just run around killing people, the destruction physics will mean nothing to you no matter how good it is. There was one time which me and my squad-mates were hold up in a building as we tried to defend the area from the assaulting enemies. Sure enough, with enough firepower the entire building collapsed, leaving us with no cover and a harder to defend point. So instead, we decided to use some guerrilla tactics and destroyed their attacking vehicles with C4. The changes to the environment that happen can make it look like you just stepped into a new area although it is so damaged that it looks foreign, not to mention the amazing graphics which add much more immersion to the environment of each map.

Now, the initial problems that I mentioned before had to do with their servers. It was impossible to play with friends, Battlelog wouldn't work, and servers were laggy and hard to get into. It was annoying that I couldn't play with my friends, and due to that I almost returned the game. However, with the most recent patch, it seems they have almost solved the problem completely. Although the exclusion of a party system in game can be annoying, it can easily be worked around due to the flexibility of in-game team switching. The server problems which plagued BF4 previously can only be seen on some occasions and they aren't as bad as before. I can also proudly say that Battlelog works perfectly fine, however it is rather useless.

For the in-game issues, the gameplay itself works well. It is impossible to drop-shot and quick-scoping is almost impossible as well. The guns aren't balanced at all, however the game itself relies on the strategic thinking of the player to win situations, and not the gun itself. However, if you are in a straight up, no-cover, shooting match with someone with a better gun, you will lose, which is how it should be. The fact that you have to continue to play with a certain class or vehicle in order to unlock more for it can be kind of annoying, as compared to COD:Ghosts squad point system, however you can earn enough score by completing objectives and aiding your team, which also helps you level up.

The Commander system is also a nice addition to BF4. With it, you can see the map from an eagle-eye perspective, aid the team with UAVs, EMPs, supply drops, squad promotions, and the ability to order squads to objectives on the map. Not to mention the addition support options which you can use when your team has specific objectives on the map, such as an AC-130, cruise missiles, and a map-wide infantry or vehicle stand; you can even mark enemies for everyone to see for a period of time if they have a 6-kill kill-streak! Although it seems like having a commander can win you any game, most of the time no one uses the feature, and when they do they don't seem to do much with it. If your team sucks and refuses to listen to commands, having a commander won't make much of a difference. However it may be able to make you lose just a little less.

Overall, I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys the First-Person-Shooter experience and wants a more realistic game than COD.

Unfortunately, EA pushed this game out quicker than it should. The game still has glitches, and extreme frame-rate drops at times, even for the console versions. There is also a few minor things that isn't apart of the game. There is no co-op missions, you can't invite friends to a squad before going in-game. You have to follow them in and hope you guys end up on the same team. The only way to customize any of your load outs is through in-game customizations. You can't change load-outs on the My Soldier like you could on BF3. You're also only limited to customizing the specific vehicles on the map. For example, say you play on Operation Locker, a close quarter combat with no vehicles, but say you unlock a new camo that you want to put on your tank. You have to wait till you are on a map with that tank available to put it on. Also, in Battepacks you are awarded things like "New Emblem" and "New Solider Portrait." This has left many confused of where to locate those items. The only way to locate those items is through the computer by logging into your battlelog. This can be a hassle especially if you want to just change your emblem/clan tag.

Like I said, Battlefield still is an over-all amazing game, but there is still a lot of things they left out or over complicated that could of been made easier.

The graphics...we don't need to talk about them...you all know.

When this game first launched in it's Beta, it had uncountable problems. Network issues, game issues, absolutely terrible service, and overall a bad experience. Now although DICE, the developers of Battlefield 4, has fixed most of these issues after the initial release of the product, it still contains issues to this day.

DICE is constantly trying to improve, but doesn't allow room for that to happen. Recently, in the upcoming game "Battlefield: Hardline," a new developer team "Visceral" has teamed up with DICE and took control of the new product. They initialized an 'Open Beta' for the game and I got a chance to play it. It is going to be a great game and there were not many bugs, but I will save that review for another time. While DICE is a great team, Visceral beats DICE at least in the support department because they were really open to criticism and suggestions, which DICE is coming shy of.

So while this game has it's ups and downs, I think it does deserve more attention as they are always improving it. I'd suggest it to a friend.

I held off buying BF4 in protest of what I saw as EA and DICE's ruining the series by "call-of-dutifying" the way new installments in the series are handled. However, during the recent sale I made the leap and picked up the base game.

In short, this is everything Battlefield 3 should have been. Despite what people have said about BF4 being rushed out, I believe it is the other way around: This game makes me think that BF3 was rushed to release before it could become the game DICE wanted it to be. That game, in my opinion, is BF4. While many things here do look nearly identical to BF3 at first glance, anyone who has played a good amount of the latter will immediately notice that nearly every feature has been expanded upon and simply made to feel more "complete": Much larger (and better) maps, BC2 style destruction (collapsing buildings are back!), in-game VOIP for squad members, Commander mode, multiple weapon attachments, different classes of jets (stealth fighers vs. attack fighters), the AC-130 incorporated into the base game (awesome, btw), and a much larger assortment of weapons, items, perks, etc - Quite simply this is everything that BF3 was expected to be. Release issues aside, I strongly believe that much of the hate for BF4 can largely be attributed to the fact that BF3 was not yet the "complete" Battlefield game which DICE envisioned.

Fans of Bad Company 2 will be happy to know that the destruction which was so lacking in BF3 is back in full - Buildings can be blown apart in much smaller increments, and once more can collapse entirely if enough damage is done. The maps also have a BC2 flair to them, with many taking place in semi-tropical environments reminiscent of the best Conquest/Rush maps on offer in Bad Company 2 (Isla Innocentes, Laguna Presa anyone?).

In the end, this is still the same Battlefield I know and love, and I am glad I finally let curiosity get the better of me and made the purchase. While BF4 is more refinement over innovation, it is a definite improvement over its predecessor and in my opinion one of if not the best Battlefield game to date.

With Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3, it's not a surprise to say I had high expectations for BF4. The game has thoroughly disappointed me in every aspect, even the graphics. The multiplayer has map designs that frankly made me wonder if the map designers at DICE were replaced by mentally challenged monkeys for this specific game. The netcode has been, and continues to be, a nightmare that's been unprecedented, not to mention the incredibly crappy balance and spawns. Congratulations, DICE, for making perhaps one of the worst games of the current console generation, and easily the worst Battlefield ever produced. I don't know why people say Hardline isn't fit for the battlefield name and reputation, when it's so obviously this one. Expand

They have finally released the winter patch. It does improve alot of things but this is OVER A YEAR to fix these issues that they've since launch. I still would not buy Battlefield 4. Save your money or go buy a more solid shooter like Rising Storm or many of the other Fps's on the market.

The vehicles are really fun to use too, as they provide the player with a great amount of weaponry at disposal whether you want to engage in ground or aerial combat. Furthermore, the visuals are outstanding, even though this game is almost 8 years old at this point. The same praise goes to the realistic sound design as well.
The singleplayer is mediocre, so if you're looking for a worthwhile story campaign, look elsewhere. However, Battlefield was never known for its singleplayer anyway.
All in all, if you're looking for an unforgettable online FPS to delve in, then Battlefield 4 is one of the best choices you currently have.

Most of these reviews were from the launch of the game. Now that the game had time to settle, the game is much better than it was at launch, and it's worth getting with all the DLC, especially when the game frequently goes on sale on Origin. Even if you're uncertain, there is a week long trial on Origin that you can try out.

Bare in mind, I'm reviewing this game in 2015. Yes, I was playing it during its launch. It wasn't so bad at launch, but then again, I was running this with two GTX Titans at the time, so things were quite smooth. This is easily the most complete shooter on PC. The name says it all, as every map is literally a Battlefield. There are so many ways to approach a situation in this game that there's always a thirst for more.

The single player may be lackluster, but who purchases Battlefield for the single player? I'd honestly be happy with a Battlefield game that doesn't have a single player, but rather a well-polished multiplayer. Specialization is a much better approach rather than an attempt to make a game that's a "Jack of all trades." That's just one man's opinion though.

The only reason there are so many negative reviews for this game is because the launch was a buggy mess. Even I stopped playing the game at launch and waited several months (if not a year I can't really remember). Most games nowadays come out a mess anyway so it's nothing new.

Overall this game will probably go down as my favorite shooter multiplayer of all time. I struggle to find anything that comes close to replicating the amount of fun I had in this game.

This game has one of the best graphics in an fps I've ever seen. Comparing to it's biggest rival COD, BF4 blows COD out of the freaking water (at least in terms of the graphics)!! The second plus for this game is the factions. Now you also get to play as China! No longer is it going to be America vs AlQaeda this AlQaeda that... America vs Russia. Same sh*t... Now you get something so fresh. Join China and shoot Americans lol. This is what I'd like to see. Different perspectives =)

Ok, besides graphics and factions, I'd say the shooting mechanics are well done too. The story mode is too scripted and linear but nobody plays it anyway so I won't judge the game by its sp. Overall, Battlefield 4 is a decent shooter with one striking problem that all shooters suffer from. The repetitiveness omgg!! You run, you gun, you camp, you capture locations, you get shot, and you wake up again. Over and over. So in 2 hours you'll be doing the same thing. After 4 hours, still the same...And after 10 hours. mate, it's just the same over and over. I mean, how long do you expect anyone to be doing this?? There's no strategy involved, no cooperation with teammates, no creativity, it's blind and mindless shooting. Lots of people are into that these days. WELL NOT ME!!! Not going to buy an fps anytime soon. And this game was released back in 2013!!

After the flak that EA and DICE got concerning these problems at launch and the high competition between Call of Duty, DICE decided to buckle down and promise players that they would fix the game, and so they did, and they did a good job at it by adding even more so than originally promised. However it does not mean they should do it again and hopefully they learned their lesson through this game. They still continue to deliver. I wasn't expecting much of the game and now that it's finally available for only 20 bucks (unless you want to get the Deluxe Premium whatever edition) I checked out a Gameplay vid and was like: yea, looks nice, let's give it a shot.
Now - the first 15 minutes of the game look quite promising and atmospheric, and then it starts to get really cheap. And

Now - the first 15 minutes of the game look quite promising and atmospheric, and then it starts to get really cheap. And it only gets worse and somewhere along the line you wonder if they simply stopped the SP guys from blowing money on it because most of their money comes from MP DLCs anyway.

Besides that the story is really dull, wasn't expecting much anyway, they really didn't care this time around (compared to BF3) to setup a campaign that is satisfying.
To me it looks like they started trying to make something nice, and then their budget was cut and they came up with half-assed action sequences... and not even that - you are left to imagine that something fancy just happened because animating the destruction of a dam/ship was too expensive so they just let your character black out.

At release I would have rated this a 4. Poor hit detection made game unplayable. Now it is more or less an extension of BF3. There are some balance issues but Dice still patches game and delivers free content to make up for the **** launch state. I will give them a pass on this one since they did do the players right and get the game in a good state, but I will not be as forgiving ifAt release I would have rated this a 4. Game is full of bugs. The interface is horrible. But the gameplay is fine. I like it still. EA/Dice are evil companies but this game is still fine. Although they have been working hard to make it crap. The game still plays well. I like playing it still. But other Battlefield oh... they totally ruined it. This is what remained of good.

Battlefield 4 on the other hand feels like a hamsterwheel and grindfest replaced good gameplay!

This was the game that made me quit online-gaming and continuing playing only cooperatively with friends!

If you thought Battlefield was an alternative to the annoying and kiddy-riddled Call of Duty you are wrong!
Be prepared for annoying waiting-queues and sometimes totally unexplainable loading times!
    Yes:
    It looks fantastic!
    and yes:
    It sounds even better!
In fact: There is no other game that has this absolutely astonishing sound-design! But it's nothing more than a facade!
In fact it consists of an annoying and totally hollow game-mechanic!
A XP-System that deludes you into achieving something, and is obviously a cover up for the bug-riddled gameplay and hostile game-enviroment with more random deaths and unfair gameplay every round!

The servers are filled with cheaters and death-squads who overrun and deliberately hunt newcomers!

If you thought: "Just have to get better", there is no way to get really better. You just earn xp and more guns and attachments (that's the Hamsterwheel that can get you into wasting time very fast! How often did you realize: NOT PLAYING FOR FUN, BUT FOR MORE XP AND BAGDES?)

Tactical approach is often missing totally and it's "everyone for themselves!"

    Weapons are a joke!
It makes NO DIFFERENCE if you shoot with a SMG or a Heavy MG!
What should obliterate anyone coming through the hail of bullets, often doesn't do a scratch and you wonder if you even hit!
Just to make you understand: The LIGHT MG farts 20 DMG and the HEAVY makes the same amount of stink!
    Pathetic!

A game that will make you hate campers and online gamers in general!

Battlefield 4 could just as well be called Battlefield 3.5. The new Battlefield features are only marginal improvements over Battlefield 3, but even as such it leaves the competitors way behind. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed soon. [Nov 2013]

Even if multiplayer wasn't buggy, Battlefield 4 would still only be a barely passable installment in all respects besides the snazzy graphics. EA and DICE played it safe by providing the same thing they did the last time around, with another phoned-in campaign and only minor alterations to the online.

Battlefield 4 keeps soldiering on in the same footsteps as previous games in the series. The lack of worthwhile news makes you wish for more. Dice stays in its comfort zone calls for explosions and not much more. The series needs to evolve or fade out.
