The game sucks so hard, I wouldn't even play it for money.
The Multiplayer and Singleplayer are full of bugs, the Multiplayer laggs like hell. The Singleplayer is just a boring firing range on cardboard discs. Multiplayer is almost impossible to play because everywhere snipers are camping and giving you 1-hit. The Multiplayer is lagging as hell and sometimes you see that you hit an enemy

Buy BF3 Premium for ~20€ and you have an almost working game with almost the same graphics.

I bought a product which is meant to work on day 1 100% with no issues what so ever, if you say that there will always be bugs and its only week 1, theres going to be issues, well you are a and thats what DICE like. This should have been a DLC for BF3.

As for the muli player, well it sucks, it still lags and freezes up. I have no interest in their upcoming projects that these rats make because its not worth it. I'd be more happy if they released this next year with no bugs and better game play. This is just unacceptable to any consumer,

By far one of the worst games I've ever played.

The campaign brings nothing new to the table. There are barely any servers open. It takes forever to find a server with people on it. Matches last less than 8 minutes. Limited customization with messy and bad UI. THE GAME IS LAUNCHED THROUGH THE BROWSER. This is just unheard of. Do NOT buy this game.

I have loved Battlefield for a long time, but now it is getting harder to deny that it has just become another EA cash crop. It is fun, but completely broken. Even when it works, it is just like 3. It is more of an expansion. I'm glad I only spent $30 but even then I wish I could actually play online. My score would be a bit higher if online was playable.

What the (This could literally be the entire review of the campaign but I'm going to move on.) Not like it starts off confusing, it keeps on being confusing throughout the entire thing. It starts off in a car, with a "funny" joke. Then you go back in time where DICE thought they were "cool", 13:37, seriously DICE, be realistic for once. To compare, BF3's campaign was varied and had a lot of cool things in it, like you could be in a jet, and iirc an attack chopper, and amongst dozens of tanks. This one, nothing. You're in a tank for about 3.5 minutes and a boat for about 5 minutes. That's IT. I could compare the singleplayer to the horrible MW3 campaign and STILL the BF4 campaign would stand out as the absolutely worst. You have missions that apparently require stealth. Every time, I've just pulled out the gun and shot the crap out of the AI cause there's no obvious path to walk around them. But wait, does it have to be this difficult? Am I maybe thinking too much? Yes I am, the AI in the BF4 campaign is stupid. They have no ears, no sense of anything sneaking behind them. Then you also got your own AI, which is apparently the slowest and worst scripted AI ever. You always have to run in front of them to be able to progress while shooting. And if you do so, the scripted enemies will show up BEHIND you. They pop up like you don't have adblock or something. Other than that, the plot is confusing, seems like this one guy is the reason for all this, then stuff happens then there's no conclusion, not even a pointer for what would happen or a sequel. Wouldn't want to play this campaign at all again, the story is less than interesting and the gameplay is worse than regular CoD run and gunning.

Now over to multiplayer, which apparently is the only thing this game is made to do. Hey, morons, you pay to have a singleplayer too, even if you don't play it. Could've probably saved 10 bucks on not having a singleplayer at all.
The multiplayer is good enough, still not better than BF3. People are freaking about this levolution crap. It's NOT the biggest or greatest thing ever, it's just a slightly scripted event that people want to abuse so that it happens IMMIDEATLY. So you're playing most of the time in a levoluted map. Some morons would say that it's "game changing". I would just call it a minor inconvenience. There are minor improvements from BF3, like the weapons got more stuff, you can choose better between special stuff for your classes. But that doesn't matter at all, because of the one thing DICE has not a single clue in, which is the ****ing netcode. BF3 was bad, but this takes it to an entirely new level. This is also the reason I would say the full release feels more like an alpha, as the beta had extremely close to none issues with this. The servers crash left and right, now there have been a bunch of patches and STILL the servers are extremely unstable and the netcode ****s up every now and then. The hit detection is gone, there's nothing. Snipers are useless 90% of the time due to a bad netcode. DMRs are completely useless as they deal no damage at all at any range. Then you have assaults and carbines which are the only weapons that works decent, then you have LMGs which are STILL the most overpowered things about the game. When the second assault DLC comes, then guess which maps EVERYONE's gonna play. Your favourite meatgrinder maps! There's also big issues when it comes to things. Suppression is still a dumb thing and is even worse now. Defibs have to be charged up now, and WHO knows about that? About 0.1% of everyone playing. So you get revived most of the time with 20 health and die immideatly. Thanks DICE, please tell everyone before making these changes. At least the spawn protection is gone when you spawn on other players.
Also, the feature I've been excited for in this game, the commander mode. Completely ruined. I'd rather go back to BF2's way of handling things you could use. They should've kept that, where you had to destroy certain things to hinder the enemy commander in using things, then you had to use engineers to get them back up. And now you have to hold points to be able to use things? Like, it's the opposite of what it should've been. This doesn't balance it out, it's more like whoever gets first to the objective is the winner if both commanders are in play. If the enemy got all the points, what the hell are you supposed to use? You have absolutely nothing to help out with, and the enemy got EVERYTHING in the world. This is what I've gotten from just looking at gameplay. Unbalanced ridiculousness.

Tl;dr, one of the worst and least fun singleplayer campaigns ever (I do enjoy a good singleplayer experience), a mediocre multiplayer mode which doesn't improve anything from the previous game, a spoiled return of commander mode and an extremely buggy and laggy game overall.

On the last level, I completed it, but the Origin servers failed to record that I had completed it, meaning that I never got any of the unlocks that should have came with it. I also noticed a high number of egregious bugs and glitches some of them were consistently present not just freak bugs. In multiplayer, crashes and outages are extremely common. My session today is particularly bad, with only 2/7 games successfully completed, without any sort of connection problem or crash to desktop. On better days, it's not much better at all. The gun mechanic works about the same as MoH as well as the game play. It's very easy to die. But, once you figure out the learning curve it's not so bad and quite enjoyable.
3.) VEHICLES LAVS pretty much die from tanks now. Tanks take 2 to 4 hits before blowing up. Jets have slowed down (easier for kills now). Attack Helicopters feel weird to fly. Mini choppers are very quick and extremely sensitive.
4.) HARDCORE LOVERS There's no hit markers. So, if you kill a teammate, it won't tell you unless the server has been set up to let you know, or you look at who you killed on the top right hand corner. A bunch of new players are playing this mode and haven't figured it out that they can kill their own teammates.. So beware, but other than that very fun.
5.) The game is absolutely beautiful. The maps, the buildings falling, the sun. Everything is beautiful. The maps are very well thought out. They've given snipers a chance in the game, good infantry, and great vehicle play. You get everything.
6.) BUGS YES WE KNOW THERE ARE BUGS. EVERYONE CHILL OUT! Bugs will happen, but hey! They fixed some of the MAJOR bugs, like SERVER CRASHES and GAME CRASHES. SO stop crying about it.
7.) AFTER THE BUGS HAVE BEEN FIXED. It's pretty fun! Plus, I really like the battlepacks.
8.) Customization is pretty dope too.

I had issues with the game just like everyone else. But like I said above, once you've gotten the learning curve down. It's not that bad and pretty fun. Typically, people get angry when they die a lot and then spread hate. There are things not to like and there are things that we like. It's an overall, 7-8 out of 10 in my book. I hope this helps you potential buyers.

Oh and the AI characters don't accurately engage until you manually tell them to. Worse battlefield ever with marginally improved graphics. The first battlefield that I would not recommend. Expand

The game looks and sounds very good especially now with 3d vision. But it is simply unplayable i played about 3 hours an it crashed 8 times. I considered buying cause i enjoyed BF2:BC2 and BF3 but it's not playable. Generally games don't crash on my PC i can't remember when i had the last crash. Even if they do, they crash once in 10 hours not every 10 minutes.

1942, BF2, BC1, BC2, BF3. This is the last of my cash DICE will ever get to see.

Single campaign (hello CoD) is a joke, that ends in (spoiler alert) deciding which one of your squad to send on a suicide run. And whats the best thing? Kill all of them once because for each different dead buddy you'll unlock a new weapon. I don't think I have ever seen something this tasteless in a AAA

Kill all of them once because for each different dead buddy you'll unlock a new weapon. I don't think I have ever seen something this tasteless in a AAA game. You see, when you pull stunts like that in GTA at least noone claims it is a good thing. I don't care for having a SP campaign so I don't care if it is good or not. What I do care about is when those resources are so obviously needed to finish and fix the part of the game that actually matters.

Even now, after all the patching and fixing it is still easily the low point in the series and for DICE. I bought Battlefield 1942 on release. The only game I did not play intensively in the series is Vietnam.

To put it short: the game has a netcode (basically the underlying data highway of the game) that still cannot handle what is going on on the server. You'll die long before the game actually tells you that you are being shot at. In addition to that DICE had to reduce fire rates of weapons and damage outputs simply to mascarade the problem. Pathetic.

Next: not a single map is systematical or well designed for ACTUAL GAMEPLAY. It is either a clusterf*ck of objects where a camper hides every 10 yards or there is no cover at all for infantery for 1000 yards. Nothing in between. You will find no classics like Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, the Aftermath Pack or Sharqi Peninsula here. There are no lanes, no tactical gameplay. Because even if you try to do so, one stupid press of "Q" by an enemy and you are marked on the minimap for the next 15 secs. So much for realism, community. Tons of idiots will tell you the maps have realistic design. But that does not make for fun gameplay. If I want a realistic experience, I'll play Insurgency, Verdun or maybe ARMA.

A bunch of gadgedts are so out of place and unbalanced you'll want to punch your screen. Have fun getting killed by people across the map flying some toy remote airplanes with C4 on them. FUN!

What happened here is EA (I presume) decided to integrate the CoD (and actually Halo - superweapons) formula into BF to get those brands slowly and surely of the market. What the managed by doing so is utterly blur and wash out what was once a great series. I've put nearly 300hrs into this game since launch and uninstalled 4 times out of pure frustration.

There is a great game under this technical disaster though.Lots of small improvements over its predecessor. Commander is not very good though. Lots of content in the multiplayer. Some excellent maps: Flood Zone and Paracel Storm are probably my favorites. Most maps work great with 64 players with lots of vehicles. Rush is bad. TDM and Domination are great for infantry only combat.

I love: The graphics; they're beautiful. I max out with a single GTX760, no SLI. The map sizes; so far they've been huge. "So far" because I can't stay on a server long enough to get a feel for the maps available but I'll get back to stability in a moment. The game play, imo, is the same as it ever was. The game play, imo, is the same as it ever was. I've been a fan of the BF franchise since BF1942 DEMO and having not played BF in 2 years (BFBC2 I never played 3) I was able to jump into BF4 and get straight to work with minimal drama.

    I hate:
Dependencies. There're too many nonsensical dependencies between me and the game. I click on the BF4 game icon in my start menu and the first thing that opens is Origin, then Firefox, then I get to using the server browser as it occurs on the website which takes a while before finally, The Game [datface.jpg]. Very wasteful and aggravating. What happens when the browser has a problem? No game. But I'm not trying to browse; I'm trying to play.

Immoderate capitalism. I paid about $100 for BF4 "Premium". I went online, chose a server and found myself in a queue. My position was 2 and beside that appeared "PREMIUM PRIORITIZED" or something to that effect which said to me that I'd been put ahead of someone else in line because I was "PREMIUM". This's a game, not a lesson in socioeconomics. I don't want to know that the server considers me a "preferred" player because I spent more money. Just put my arse in a queue and let's get it on already.

Instability! I can get in a good 7 minutes between CTD (crash[es] to desktop). It repeatedly crashes and on a couple of occasions I've fallen with bluescreens. I've been building my own PCs since 1997 and I've bluescreened about 4 times since 2002. Twice playing GTA3 (2002-video driver incompatibility) and twice over the past couple days wrestling with BF4 (BCCode: 1000007e). Not okay.

    Win 7x64 SP1, Xeon 1230 ver. 2 3.3GHz, 16GB, GTX 760

I know the game is till relatively new but I can't see this having been tested prior to release. QC was playing Bomberman 64 or something in the basement when they should've been testing. If I could play the game I'd have rendered of score of something like 8 or 9, I'm sure. In its present condition, however, this game is only worth a 6 7 at best.

The gameplay however feels like they've copied and pasted everything from BF3 into a semi different-ish scenario. however the major downfall for me has to be the fact I haven't actually been able to get any further than the third mission (I'll keep this as spoiler free as possible) while driving (sailing?) a boat back to an even bigger ship I was hit by a huge wave of bugs and glitches planes hovering doing nothing, gunfire coming from an invisible enemy ship, enemies disappearing in front of my eyes, at one point my ship randomly exploded for no apparent reason, the (useless) AI screaming at me to watch out for the helicopter that is supposedly coming for us, I saw no helicopter and a ship that is impossible to catch up with its almost as if when you think you're getting close the captain presses a boost button. Now don't get me wrong this game has got potential but I feel they have rushed to get the 360 version onto the market while focussing all their attention to the future Xbox One version of the game and on multiplayer. I haven't played any of the multiplayer aspects of BF4 just yet I was planning to finish the story before doing so but now I'm a little scared that I will be met with endless lag and bugs.
The final verdict is, this game has potential its got brilliant graphics and realistic war zones, but unfortunately lacks the polish it so rightly deserves. If I were you I wouldn't do what I did and waste £40 on a current gen copy and wait that little bit longer for next gen warfare.

I'm really surprised how well optimised the game is on AMD hardware. While the beta ran poorly on my PC, the full game runs at a constant 60fps on high settings at 1080p on my budget gaming PC (6300 6-core processor 7850 2GB GFX and 8GB ram).

The multi-player is sheer brilliance, the crazy happenings on 64 player maps make you generally feel like you're on a battlefield and will constantly make you laugh out loud. the sound and feel of the guns are great and the potential to level up looks long winded adding good longevity to the game. A special mention must go to the new game mode obliteration, so much fun!

The levels of destruction, amount of vehicles, changing weather patterns, levolution, all make this a fantastic package....All for a meagre £30!!

There have also been changes in the methods of leveling up to obtain new weapons. A player must level up that weapon type to unlock more in the category, meaning players can no longer cheat their way to the best sniper rifle by using an assault rifle unlocked by another class. I would give this game a 10 if it were based on the content alone; however it falls short due to the common EA pitfall. The game started with critical patching needs. Most of these have been taken care of, but there are a few that still need to be worked out. It is not uncommon for any company to require patching, but to the extent that EA pushes this fact is now simply a running joke among customers.

That said, this is where the content makes up for quite a bit. I'll forego the Battlefield for adults and Call of Duty for kids argument, but Battlefield has been the definitive military styled shooter for quite a while and I don't see them losing that title.

The game sadly still has problems after just over a year of release. It looks great and when its actually playable (when bugs dont crash your system) its really enjoyable. Sadly EA forced Dice to release BF4, something damaging to the next releases for the series. Care for your customer first then profits.

Multiplayer Battlefield 4: is simply frustrating... I loved BF: Bad Company 2.
-My biggest complaint exists with the vehicles. The vehicles are far too maneuverable. They can turn on a dime and attack any position. The vehicles make little to no sound so the player cannot tell they are even nearby or even directly behind the player. They can move forward and in reverse at full speed almost instantaneously. The cannons and guns also have no reduced speed to aim unlike in previous BF installments. This make it almost impossible to hide from a tank, the drivers can round a corner faster than a player on foot can run. And finally, THE TANKS and Helicopters MAKE LITTLE TO NO SOUND!! I cannot count the number of times a tank sneaks up behind my soldier while I'm running and not under gun fire. I can actually hear footsteps from other enemies on foot better then the vehicles. This needs to be fixed, how has this been overlooked? Stealth tanks.. yeah that makes sense. =/ It is telling that the developers do not even play this game. It is ****

-Latency issues / rubberbanding on servers where I 'supposedly' have a 20-40 ping.

-While searching through servers in lobby, many of the servers show there are 40+ players in game when there are not any in reality.

-The BF4 takes far to long to start unlocking the weapons and gear for each weapon must be unlocked separately. This takes forever. It ruins the balance of the game, especially considering these weapons and gear do provide a significant advantage of beginning equipment (stability, accuracy, recoil, spread for guns and longevity or speed when being attacked both in vehicles and on foot)
-The maps are gorgeous! however, they are not designed well from the perspective of being fun. A player is almost forced to camp and there are ~4 entrances to every building or roof. There is absolutely nowhere one can take a shot at an opponent that does not leave them exposed to retaliation fire.
-There is TOO much clutter to get stuck on in several maps.

Not everyone has access to the Internet at all times and many people (I included) care a lot about campaign. Unfortunately, BF4 has identical flaws to the predecessor in this regard. Single Player Campaign is short, forgettable and full of painful scripts. Well, I know it's FPS and I shouldn't expect a long-lasting action competing with any Grand Theft Auto's storyline, but please; if I am a noob amongst plenty of skilled players, then I would really like to enjoy the game alone. Playing against computer does not frustrate and an interesting story would really aid in keeping me playing.

If you read other player's reviews about multiplayer, you'll understand why BF4 is over-hyped, that's why I skipped it.

Spawning mechanics are a disaster too- get used to die cause someone shoot you from behind. Other feature also dont work- liek queuing and plenty of other things. You may expect that crashes will be fixed but things like netcode will remain like thay did in bf3. Singleplayer is a disaster as well its terrible and dumb... but you have to complete last mission 3 times to unlock 3 weapons for mp so....
However! Grapichs are a bit better then in BF3, some maps remind bc2 maps and there is plenty of customisation[ gadgest, camos, attachments, battlepacks, emblems and more]. Gunplay is fun /except netcode issues, lag, and Sniper riffles/ and still Conquest is epic, especially with levolution. Gameplay is a bit different than bf3 so you wont feel bored.

Multiplayer isn't much better either. After 10 hours in the multiplayer, I have noticed that almost everything in the game is pretty much an instant kill, doesn't matter what gun you use, you just can't beat your opponents. The game is severly unbalanced and the map design is terrible. We were promised so much by EA and DICE and we payed them good money (Some people even pre-payed for PREMIUM bring the bill to $110) but what do we as consumers get in return for staying loyal to the series? Another slap in the face by EA and their greedy higher ups because once again, I feel that EA only cares about getting money and not trying to push its developers for good quality games. I don't care if you disagree with me on this, but from EA's recent history with their games from Battlefield to Need For Speed, they just keep screwing sh*t up.

EA and DICE should really see from a consumer standpoint on how bad they are doing because people like myself are getting tired of screw up after screw up and soon enough, EA is not going to be making money because they have dissapointed their consumers too much.

Campaign isn't exactly spectacular but that shouldn't be a surprise tho i enjoyed it bit more that BF3. Dice should have enough tools in their hands to force players to do some teamwork, that shouldnt be too hard for them but at the moment its not exactly a goal but playing with decent crew on your own might change it easily. There are other things thet could be considered annoying but to be honest i consider them my personal issues as i might not like them but i dont see them affecting the bigger picture on its own game itself is great playground.

Tho what really annoys me is that every time when some kind of sequel is being released, bunch of guys show up and start talking about how great last part was and how crappy the new one is and it happens over and over again. Whining at its best:). I'd ignore most of the negative reviews, few of them consists any decent critics. That's why i've given 10/10 tho more realistic would be 8/10.

Ignoring all the game breaking bugs Battlefield 4 fails to innovate in comparison to Battlefield 3. The innovations that Dice attempted to add such as new weapons, levelution, and new game modes lacked in comparison to what made Battlefield 3 an enjoyable game.

I created a profile just to review this game. I doubt this review will be read, but honestly writing it just feels like the right thing to do in case I can save anyone out there hard earned money.

Just know that yes, this is a pretty good game. I do not have the experience with the series that many do have, but to me the game is pretty to look at, has great shooting and driving mechanics, and a fantastically grandiose setting. However, I do not feel that I can give the game anything other than a zero because for me it is simply not playable at any graphics settings.

I want to like this game because of the huge spectacular battles. The destructible environments and large maps really provide great eye candy. However, if you are playing on a large server and actually want to join the fray, you will quickly find yourself getting stuck in place repeatedly (rubber banding), and the game will basically become your own personal suicide simulator 2014. These issues are further exacerbated when you are in the middle of a firefight; however they remain if you are far away from the fighting.

I initially believed that this was simply due to my computer or internet for whatever reason, but a quick internet search will immediately show that not only are my issues not an isolated incident but also that they have been in existence and unsolved for over a year now. Many generous individuals have provided possible fixes online, but none of them have worked for me.

If you think you are better at solving computer issues than me, you may very well be correct. Just know that I have spent more hours trying to fix this game than actually playing it (if you could call it that.) I have tried everything from installing on an ssd to smart port forwarding. But still even when I have extremely low ping and join a local server with low ping, I find myself glitching my way across the map like an idiot.

If you buy this game, know the risk you are taking. It simply doesn't work for many people such as myself. You will get a lot of people on these review sites denying that this is even happening, but even Dice has admitted there is a problem.

If you think I am full of it it is your right to have that opinion, and I will defend that right with my life. But it is your hard earned money on the line. And speaking of money, the DLC for this game is out of control. If you want to be able to play any map on any server you will have to spend $70 (in my location). When the game is on sale. For a game that is a year old. For a game that does not work.

Note: I was around for the release of Rome 2, and I never considered even that game "unplayable" if you need some kind of scale to understand how broken this game is to me.

Multiplayer is fun. For the most part. Seems like the game makers stuffed too much on the screen in places and added a few not-needed things that only seems to frustrate a lot of players.

I had hoped to jump right into this game like I did with BF3, but for some reason this game doesnt seem as fun. It's the single player aspect of the game that really ruins it.

I am trying to like this game but I am now starting to think this game is broken to it's core. EA is finally acknowledging that they have a problem as they have suspended all work on the DLC's to attempt to fix this game. I hope they can, but I doubt it.

    Major flaws -
*Continued crashes even after two patches. Not as frequent but still there. (I have a titan, i7, win 8 etc etc top of the line rig 6 months ago).
*Spawn problems, you have a black screen when you spawn where you cant do anything but others see you can kill you, leading to your death even before you "spawn".
*poor spawn locations ie Daybreak spawns you in the middle of the road which compounds the above problem.
*Lag in the servers that seems to increase the longer the games continues. Not sure if the net can handle all of the increased data due to Levolution. Was not a major issue in BF3 way worse in BF4. Being killed behind walls is way worse than BF3 especially after the china rising patch (for me anyway, starting to become unplayable).
*poor hit recognition not sure if this is due to the built in lag, but sometimes even a still target at close range can't be hit. (even after the patches see youtube)
*have not fixed the minor annoyances of BF3 ie rockets seem to disappear in air if the firer is killed before it hits the target. Almost impossible to shoot someone jumping over an object. Phantom walls/rocks which stop bullets. Phantom twigs on the ground which stop you in mid -sprint until you jump over it etc etc.
    * Major weapon rebalancing needs to be down Ie DMR useless at moment. Attack chopper useless (not a bad thing) This is no a big issue as it will be fixed over time as some weapons get nerfed or buffed.
*numerous other problems see youtube, reddit etc.

I still hold out hope this game will be fixed as I have loved all of the previous BF games, but still after 2 patches and almost two months this game is still broken. I still have to give this a 2 out of ten, but will happily change this when (fingers crossed) this is fixed. Previous review below.

"Great game, great maps, great concept, but mega fail on execution, think SimCity. Every second to third game, the servers crash, leading to mega frustration. Once they get the servers up and running will be a great game, but they had the same problem in the beta and still have not fixed it. I would recommend save your money for now and look at purchasing it post Christmas when it goes on sale."

Seems to me it want to be liked by COD fans and getting worse (more like COD) each release. Mostly small maps with 24/7 respawns behind your back ans physics made right for professional campers ruined gameplay totally. As I said, still best multiplayer on market but I think I will stick to BF3 and BFBC2 until next release or few updates which fix things.

UPDATE: I scored 5 five months ago. But after more than 5 months after release game crashing like 1st day. Nothing is fixed. After preordering this game like all Battlefields before this game is huge scum! I'm done with Dice games forever!!!

first let me say, am no multiplayer fan. i like playing games for their campaign.

i must say BF4 campaign sucks. there is no sense in whatever they are doing. first mission they have to get in a chopper on top of an old building whereas that could have just get into it as soon as they come out of in the plains. also what i hated the most is the ending. its too sudden, it happen just

you don`t understand whats going out or what is happening,

then there IRISH talking all the time and your character does not speaking, you are suppose to be the squad leader but other give you orders and take decision that you should be taking.

my opinion is that BF should be made on for multiplayer. the developers of BF do not know how to create a story and to make audience be part of that story.

The game is amazing, classic battlefield with some shiny new improvements. That said, it is also one of the buggiest things Ive played in a while. My campaign is currently stuck at a point where the textures floor wont load so I just fall off an indoors cliff if I move forward. The online game crashes about once every three games. I want Battlefield to be successful, I love DICE and the series, but this release is unacceptable. Wait 2 weeks, and come back because currently, it is a giant headache. But also, like I said there is no experience better than battlefield when the game is working. Expand

This game is unplayable due to constant crashes. The new patch that came out today has made it to where i cannot even launch into the game. I give it a terrible review because i've had it almost a month and have had nothing but problems.

Major disappointment out of the box. Game is unfinished and broken even now two weeks after release.. When it does work, the COD influence is obvious. This is not Battlefield anymore and doesn't play the the older Battlefields (and I've played, and still own them all) and for that reason, I sent it back and got a refund.

Battlefield 4 could just as well be called Battlefield 3.5. The new Battlefield features are only marginal improvements over Battlefield 3, but even as such it leaves the competitors way behind. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed soon. [Nov 2013]

Even if multiplayer wasn't buggy, Battlefield 4 would still only be a barely passable installment in all respects besides the snazzy graphics. EA and DICE played it safe by providing the same thing they did the last time around, with another phoned-in campaign and only minor alterations to the online.

Battlefield 4 keeps soldiering on in the same footsteps as previous games in the series. The lack of worthwhile news makes you wish for more. Dice stays in its comfort zone calls for explosions and not much more. The series needs to evolve or fade out.
