Please ignore the single player because it has alot of bugs, glitches, invisible walls and bad texture pop in.They didnt bother rendering 2 feet out of the bit they have designed for the level. The multiplayer is great as always!

Great game in keeping with the BF tradition. The Battlepack system is a great addition and the graphics are insane. Early issues with crashing appear to be fixed and i havent had any issues in a while. I highly recommend.

This game is alot of fun...it's just like BF3 which isn't a bad thing, although $60 for new maps is a little steep. Oh and it would be really cool if the game didn't have so many bugs upon release, I can only play about one match before the game crashes and then I have to try connecting to another match only to have it crash again after one game. If not for the bugs I would give this game a higher rating 8 or 9 for fun factor and replayability, but the game crashing after one match, sound cutting out, lag, and other stuff that shouldn't be present in a released, it gets the lowly 6 of shame. Child game, un-enjoyable, unbalanced, bad netcode, AR/carbine weapons = nailguns accuracy, hit dectection is so weird. If you play alone you will sooner or later have enough of this game, because it gets annoying. it is enjoyable enough with friends, but without, you will have a hard time with the whole essence. Anyway I am level 109, so I have more than enough game time.

First, Battlefield 4 is way better than any CoD game, that's a fact.
The big fights on 32vs32 maps are fun, dynamic, beautiful.
It's overall a good game. Though, this game has big weaknesses : -too much vehicles. It doesn't give a good idea of war combats. 10 infantry soldiers and 20 people in vehicles for each team kills the interest. You still can have fun not being in a vehicle,

Though, this game has big weaknesses :
-too much vehicles. It doesn't give a good idea of war combats. 10 infantry soldiers and 20 people in vehicles for each team kills the interest. You still can have fun not being in a vehicle, but you'll probably kill less, die more and it may become frustrating at times.
-the maps are not good. They are similar, not creative, not that interesting. After a few games, you've see, it all. They are also not very numerous, and if you want more, I guess you'll have to pay more.
-The levolution is... not impressive. It's just scripts that launch at a certain time of the game and it's... yeah, meh. They basically built their trailers around it, and it's bland in game.
-It's pretty much the same as BF3. I know a lot of people keep saying this, but it's true. It's the exact same thing, except two or three little things. And now that's a problem 'cause if you played a lot of BF3, no need to buy it. At all. Stay on the 3rd. For the first few hours, you'll have fun, then it will get boring very quickly and you'll regret the money you've spent.
Same thing for the people who didn't like BF3, you won't like BF4 either.
-They are selling a game $60 when it is barely playable. Crashes every 2 games, lags, freezes, bugs, ...
The game is clearly not finished. For such a price, it would be legitimate to expect a new polished game.
It's not new and not polished AT ALL.

I wanted to give EA a chance with this game after what they said. It was BF, I really thought they wanted to take care of the series, at least because it could be a mountain of money. They didn't. This game is a failure. Not a complete failure, some things are good, but still a failure.
    Totally not worth the money.

I enjoy the recon class, and sniping really showed how poor everything looked. I installed the game day one, and had the mandatory 2GB download once the game started. Then it happened....I NEVER INSTALLED THE 2nd DISK!!!! That's where the HD textures were hiding. THIS GAME ROCKS. I loved COD, and opted out of ghosts due to some pretty bad feedback and didn't want to shovel out another $60 just yet. Battlefield 4 is a epic game with many innovations and a big quantity of bugs, but if you stop to pay attention, the creators are launching updates that are improving since the launch, and if you wait they will correct the rest, like in battlefield 3, i believe you need to wait until they fix the bugs and then, you can buy one of the best games made.

It's sad how this fantastic game gets bad reviews. The community here is full of haters who don't know their game and keep claiming that every BF game after BF2 is bad.

BF4 filled all the missing features of 3, but is "bad because of bugs". BF3 is bad because it lacked all the features of the previous BFs. BFBC2 is golden and better than 1943, but worse than BFBC1. BFBC1 is bad

BFBC1 is bad because it's only for consoles.
    BF2142 isn't as good as 2.
    BF2 is the best BF.
Seriously, this is ridiculous. I will go as far as saying BF4 is the best BF yet, as it is currently clean of bugs, but still receiving updates for balancing issues, which are mostly fixed now. BF4 was, at the start, completely unplayable, but is now 100% functioning, and now they've balanced out the weapons and vehicles, and this is all because of a hard-working team called DICE LA-they're in fact the most supportive/active developers I've ever seen. In fact, if I read a new forum post or watch a new Lvlcap video about balancing issues, a week later, DICE LA has fixed it in the newest update, which makes me think that they check absolutely every corner of BF4 hate on the internet. They really do their job well and are saving BF4 from being a buggy unbalanced disaster
Sure, BF4 has had the worst launch of any BF game, but it sure is one of the best multiplayer FPS out there now (If not THE best). It's a game that improved on everything amazing BF3 did wrong, and sure put every CoD game ever made to shame.

This game was unfinished right from the start (even the beta was an alpha indeed) and was rushed to be released before COD. Yes, it introduces many new -and nice- features but turns into pure abomination in the end due to the constant freezing, disconnections and the countless bugs. On my ps3 system (don't begin to say the gameplay was intended for next-gen since there's something called "optimization" and if the PS3 system wasn't enough to deal with the game then it shouldn't be released for that console in the first place), it freezes on my "every" play and enough is enough. I regret that I even purchased Premium right from the start. The patches, on the other hand, didn't help at all. It's sad to see the Battlefield series at its current state. I hope BF5 will be tested properly and have more constant MP (as well as SP). My 5 out of 10 is dedicated to the fun I had with the game in spite of many frustrating moments. Battlefield 4 is an amazing game, and DICE really stepped up this game with Frostbite 3. It's really an improvement to Battlefield 3. There isn't any reason that I've found yet to give this game a negative score, however I do think that the whole "Levolution" thing is a huge gimmick. The only maps that really have any Levolution are Siege of Shanghai, Flood Zone, and Paracel Storm. Those are the only maps where once the Levolution occurs, the maps are significantly different. And even then, it's still pretty gimmicky.

The game is really great. It improves nearly every aspect of the online player experience (except the weapon modification screen which is frustratingly complicated, though I'm getting a handle on it). If you liked BF3 or if at least it interested you but wasn't your thing, check out BF4. DICE and EA are ambitious and most of it they pull off well. If you didn't like BF3s brand of warfare, or prefer smaller, moshpit inspired gameplay chances are BF4 isn't for you. BF4 doesn't want to cater to COD-type warfare. What they do in BF4 is improve their special brand of combat and it really shows. Stop the COD vs BF4 hate. Just play your games and, if you really want to have a good time, stop worrying about the nerdiest rivalry ever and just play both games because they are both good in their own way.

First of all, I can't really blame those who makes jokes about the game being in Beta. It is, even if possibly the one I'm playing today is Beta 3.0, and not the horrific pre-Alpha some of us bought on October 29th. The netcode is better than before (it doesn't take much do be better than trash, but it has improved; not reliable yet, but better), and some of the major bugs and, most importantly, the CRASHES, have been fixed, at least as far as I can say. Maybe I'm optimistic or just lucky, but I haven't experienced nothing special except, of course, some lag and a couple of minor reload bugs. The problem is: is Battlefield 4 worth playing now? Is Battlefield 4 worth NOT BEING ERADICATED from the planet just because it started to be less than God awful only around January? Let's make a pros-cons, it's easier for me and for you. Just one advice: i won't include in the cons the OBVIOUSLY KNOW BUGS, because that's already clear in my opinion. I will write pros and cons like if BF4 was a bug-free game, but these bugs will obviously weight in the score.

    PROS
-Most of the maps are very well designed
-It offers a truly astounding Battlefield experience WHEN IT WORKS, and BF fans know what i mean
-Graphics are gorgeous, nothing to say about that
-Sound, when it isn't bugged, it's really remarkable and realistic
-The perk system makes sense, encouraging people not to play like morons unless they like losing their perks for their squad being wiped out

    CONS
-The unlock system still sucks (i. e. assignments and gadgets progression criteria)
-Excessively vast arsenal has room for lots of pointless weapons and, of course, some OP guns
-The map design of Operation Locker can be found at the voice "How to NOT make a multiplayer map"
-The game has an excessive load on your system in certain situations, where 60 stable fps, even with a quite high-end PC, are all but reachable 1080p
-Questionable weapon balance (PDWs not universal, Carbine now universal, DMRs nerfed like and the same goes for most of the rocket launchers)
-Hit detection is one of the worst I've ever seen
-Map design is good for some game modes and bad as hell for others
-The whole game costs 60 50 Thanks, BF4 Premium, for being expensive. And for existing

I may not be an expert reviewer, and I sure as hell am not good enough to tell you or DICE how to actually make Battlefield 4 a game worth buying. The situation is better than two months ago, but can I tell that for me BF4 is better than its predecessor? Nope. And keep in account that I've played BF3 on the PS3, not exactly a wonderful porting. This is my opinion, as incoherent and senseless as you want, but sure as hell sincere. And 5 is my vote, same as before.

Battlefield 4 is an excellent multiplayer game and a bland single-player experience, filled with bugs but still nevertheless enjoyable. To start off, this is not BF3.5. Here's a complete list of all the new features:

Frostbite 3 engine (dynamic weather effects and destruction BF3's engine could not handle)
    Commander Mode returning
    Levolution
    Customizable knives and vehicles
    Counter-knife
    Improved and dynamic naval combat
    5-Man squads
    No blue tint
    China faction
    Platoons
    Spectator mode
    Improved and responsive Battlelog
New character models that make it easier to differentiate between faction to faction
Suppression improved; toned down on all weapons except for sniper rifles and light machine guns
    Field upgrades unlocks
    Spot animation
New game modes like Obliteration and Defuse, as well as improvements to existing game modes such as Rush and Conquest.

And that may not even be all of it.

However, one big disappointment for me is the single-player campaign, its ends up turning into a Michael Bay explosions everywhere movie with little to no redeeming qualities. Its an improvement over Battlefield 3's, with much more open environments that allow players to approach levels in multiple ways, but ultimately is pointless. The pacing and writing is abysmal, characters are thin, and is not worth a play-through.

But as a multiplayer game it succeeds. The 64-player battles are unmatched, the destruction is more Bad Company 2 style, as well as a new mechanic called "Levolution." Most of these major map-changing events are triggered by players, but some are not. Levolution is mostly scripted but still nevertheless enjoyable, and change the tide of the battle immensely. Some Levolution events are better than others, the skyscraper on Siege of Shanghai gets old after it falls down 3 or 4 times, but other events like flooding the city on Flood Zone are far harder to trigger and change up the overall gameplay.

The reviews on here are just purely immature, Battlefield 4 is an excellent game, it has noticeable launch issues which decreases its overall appeal but is worth the price of admission.

The nice thing about this game is that players now have the option of spectating games that allows them to observe suspicious players. People no longer have to wonder who is hacking... It actually shocked me that I have discovered servers that I performed extremely poor on had almost nothing but hackers with modified skins and movements uncharacteristic to normal play. They can also now be aware when they are being observed and they will literally sit still... which in the least part is a heck of a way to grief cheaters trying to hide their cheats.

They also added what I nearly forgot existed all the way back from Battlefield 2142 the Commander slot in battles. Commanders can be devastating for matches yet very few want to play the role as it is not exactly exciting when most people do not follow orders... but one can progress in rank quick from being a Commander. It sure does suck when your opposing team has an Commander and the other team doesn't; the Commander's team usually wins...

One thing I did not like in this game was the new vehicle set-up. Jets seemingly lose control when I start firing; they simply stall out in the air and I lose my positioning for a kill. Manipulating the throttle to increase turning speed has been significantly gimped; when the throttle over exerted the plane literally stops turning entirely as if it lost all of it's wind. They also put in several different types of Guns for the jet and it makes spotting cheaters damn near impossible when the 30 mm cannon naturally does too much damage. The Miniguns on the Transport Heli no longer harm Tanks; as if they really did any serious damage in BF3. They are now good for killing soldiers and eventually bringing down other flying vehicles.

All in All BF2 is still the best game. They do too much with this franchise and it has now become exclusively all about the money and it really irritates me that they have already created Battlefield Hardline.

This may be the official last Battlefield Game I ever buy... purely for the fact that they keep rebuilding the beast... if they want to go this far then they should just make it a P2P MMO.

When I look at it statistically, this game comes out at about $70 retail and then people wind up paying another $100 for all the: expansions, Weapon Kit Shortcuts and Premium status; the shortcut kits have been designed to be more useful in such a way because items are practically random now from the suitcase bundles...

They've already duped us into paying $15/month to play this game without them being held accountable for all of the Hackers running Injectable code cheats in this game.

Look at the release date, this game isn't even a year old yet and it's already being phased out by Battlefield Hardline; which is a whole new kind of garbage...

Talk about encouraging the existence of a Police State and Criminals with Guerrilla Military style weapons. It's just not right to advocate the killing of Police...ever...

One of the problems with early BF4 was the 10-tick (updates 10 times a second) servers and how they updated: you could unload on someone and all the bullets would hit them at the exact same time, when the server updated on the next tick. The experience was just not good.

Now, however, it runs very smoothly and the experience is overall very good. It is much better with a few Squadmates over Teamspeak, but if you find yourself a good squad, you can use the integrated VOIP and have a very fun teamwork experience.

It's not revolutionary, it's the same battlefield as BF3, only somewhat tweaked, destruction refined, and with a LARGE number of maps and modes.

Hardly worth full release price at the time, but it's a bargain now: you can easily put in 500 hours before becoming anywhere near bored, as it offers excellent variety.

Overall, this is the best current MP shooter game available I don't care if you have a hard-on for COD or CS1.6 this has the best mix for customisability/graphics/environment and realism (aside from ARMA) available.
Whilst I don't think this game's initial maps were as good as BF3 (except Paracel Storm) I think the variation within each level is amazing i.e. you can have close quarter fighting in a map with vehicles this brings a whole new dynamic to the game that we didn't have in BF3
I think, like BF3 (and remember enthusiasts, BF3 wasn't without a massive amount of issues too) BF4 will improve as the title goes on for the next 2 years e.g. the Sniper class NEEDS to be nerfed it is far to COD like (to note, this is a negative) and too easy to master

Overall I mark this down for the required tweaks, but am not emotional enough to let it ruin an otherwise perfect game!

Back when BF3 was released I rated it a 6 I believe. I went on to put in around 1400hrs into that game. It wasn't until they fixed *most* of the problems did I find enjoyment playing BF3. It took months to nearly a year before weapon balance (which still is kinda a joke but not so much so as it used to be) was fixed, crashes were resolved (game hasn't crashed in over a year for me), and other bugs, i.e. underslung dart bug, were resolved. These fixes saved BF3 in my opinion but I can only speak as an infantry player. I don't know about balance in regards to vehicles (though I've heard the tanks were nerfed). What also kept me playing BF3, and still does, was the "feel" of the game. I liked the fluidity of the game, the gun mechanics, etc.
What I liked about BF3 is absent in BF4. The game feels stiff. The gun mechanics dumbed down. Seriously, just looking at my stats, my avg accuracy is much higher in BF4 than in BF3. It wasn't terrible in BF3, avg was 19% but in BF4 its nearly 22%. Why? Because weapon recoil is so easy to control you can snipe people with ARs. Weapons also feel like toy guns rather than the beasts from BF3. My second gripe comes from the perk system. Holy jesus what were they thinking. In BF3 each person in a squad could select a perk that gave all people in the squad said perk. Ideally, you'd want to get in a squad with people who ran different perks. This worked out most of time because you could just jump to a squad or change your own. When people didn't bother to change theirs you could kick them from squad if you were the squad leader or just jump to another squad in hopes of being able to get better perks. In other words, you had more control over your perks. In BF4 you know have to rely on pubbies to actually play as a squad to get your perks through a progression bar but if you've every played BF4 with random pubbies you know that most BF players have downs. They will not do anything squad oriented and thus you are out of luck if you wish to play with perks. Not only is this frustrating but instead of picking your perk now you have to pick a pre-defined perk tree. Want cover and sprint? Ha, not going to happen. Want cover, ammo, sprint? (the essentials) Not going to happen. In BF3 my k/d was over 3. In BF4 my k/d is just under 2. Why? Because in BF3 spawns were eventually fixed and you didnt have people spawning directly behind you on flags. In domination mode in BF4 people will spawn directly behind you. For example, let's say your team has two of the three flags. Where oh where will the enemy team spawn? You'd think at or behind their flag right? Nah, on one of your flags, and most likely behind the line that you and your team has created to defend it. Completely unforgivable design problem that should have been addressed long ago. I could go on about the shortcomings of this game and I could go into all the crashes (server/client side), the joining server bugs (black screen that eventually just disconnects you but won't let you terminate the process) or any of the other bugs I'm too lazy to go into. This game will be "ok" in a few months once they fix problems but as a whole the new mechanics are really what bring the game down. Certain things weren't perfect in BF3 (perks for example) but now they went ahead and made it even more broken. I bought this game on release (didnt preorder) with hesitation and I should have probably not bought it till it dropped in price. Now I almost feel forced to play it so I can at least get something for my money. Big disappointment.

The other issue I have, and sadly it's common practice now, but the premium and DLC packs. In a sense I don't consider these packs taking away from the main game because the amount of maps the main game has is on par with all previous titles have at launch. The downside to me is the fact at one time maps and DLC was free, or even cheap, not $15 for four maps.

Furthermore the gameplay is good as always, but the biggest improvements is the map design is a little more open then 3 in my view. Metro and other maps failed at times as it was too linear for a BF game without multiple access points, and these maps seem to have corrected that issue. Also there is more emphasis on vehicles on some maps, and even naval warfare on a couple of maps. Finally the levolution technology which is a cool idea seeing certain parts of the map changing the dynamic of your strategy, but it isn't always executed well. Some maps change how you attack a point, but other times it just adds some debris in the way.

In regards to the single player campaign it's nothing special. It has some cool moments and it's fun, but it isn't long or anything revolutionary. It's a typical popcorn flick in which there is a lot of action, a basic story without much character development, and it consists a few what you would call wow moments. Overall the game feels more stable then BF3, and it has some nice changes which I think are good. If you like multiplayer shooters, definitely check out; however, if you are a player who randomly enjoys them, then wait for a sale on the main game or get BF3 as you have plenty of choices for your FPS fix.

Negatives (mostly) aside, the multiplayer portion of the game is excellent. Fast paced gameplay in 64-player 'Rush', to the huge scale battles of 'Conquest Large', and team play in 'Squad Deathmatch', plus some all new gamemodes most of which were definitely not ripped off of Call of Duty... *ahem*. The multiplayer, in all seriousness, does provide a satisfying experience all in all; the new destructive play brought through 'Levolution' and many unlockables to be... well, unlocked.

Multiplayer does have it's fair share of bugs, however: servers breaking half way through a game and kicking everyone off, long load times, and graphical glitches hopefully all to soon be ironed out by DICE.

Overall, Battlefield 4 is a fun, exciting experience, let down by the single player story mode, and the countless bugs users have encountered throughout the game. EA clearly pressured DICE to release BF4 early for next gen console support, meaning many huge bugs were left in the game. The main point is what could DICE have done with the incredible multiplayer if they didn't have to produce the single-player. Maybe added more maps, weapons, vehicles, removed bugs, polished the experience... And with a hefty price tag £55 on Origin for the Standard Edition (why would you pay that?), the game does not appear ready for it's full release yet.

Still a fun game with active servers well after release. It had a buggy start but is now a lot better. It's gameplay feels even more smooth than battlefield 3, the maps look amazing and the gun play is quite fun. For normal mode the game irritates the heck out of me but I enjoy playing Hardcore which feels perfect to me.

Stunning visuals, good gameplay. I enjoyed the single player campaign; finished it in 9 hours. My usual regret is that I don't play multiplayer yet I must buy the complete pack, which even with the year-ends 30% off was a bit overpriced. I played BF3 some time ago so I can't really compare them, but I'm sure the series best single player experience so far was BF2 Bad Company. AnotherStunning visuals, good gameplay. This is a very good game, just don't bother with any of the expansions/dlcs which no one plays 1-2 months after release. If you only want to play Conquest mode on the stock maps then go ahead and get this game, though 1-2 years from now (fall 2014) you will only be able to find a dozen servers running.

    - Squad VOIP

    - Better squad perk system
    - Wall peeking and performance is actually better than BF3 for me at least using nvidia 670 fx 8350 )
    - Balanced weapons people will debate this )
    - No one really communicates with each other

    Cons:

    - Requires Battlelog
    - Requires Origin
    - Crashes somewhat frequently (2 out of 10 games for me)
    - Very unbalanced vehicles
    - Tiny aim dot for jets
    - Many invisible wall collisions
    - Hit detection that was worse than BF3s but occurs less often
    - Objects have bad collisions sometimes invisible walls intercept your shot trajectory )
    - Enemy squadmates spawn on allies while you are killing them meaning they can easily kill you as you will have spent most of your clip on the first guy.

Conclusion: For most of you this will put it simply enough. I got Premium for BF3 and didn't feel like a cent was wasted but I will not be getting Premium for BF4 at all.

The destruction is a big advancement from BF3, there is only a few things more cool than blowing up a wall an enemy is using for cover, or crushing an entire building onto a cluster of pesky snipers. Battlefield 4 offers the biggest variety of gameplay from tanking to stealthily flanking the enemy team to flying a jet around the whole map. It is definitely worth spending $60, or even $110 on. I still hate how someone can survive with 1 health, why not bleed them out and make medics more useful. I love the voice in game option now though, always never understood how the console could have it in already, and not on pc when it was bf3. Oh, but I felt disappointed in the campaign, it was short, didn't really connect and semi predictable. Amazing graphics though. So those issues aside, BF4 is great to play if you love teamplay, however the the whole release is more like a BF3 DLC with a new name, graphics didnt get much better and the levolution they announced sooo big is more a fake, its tru big building fall, but its always the same so there is no AI to it, its more like a general map has two stages, one with all in tact, and one where most of the environment is destroyed. All over still a great game, but they way it was sold to us, and they horrible state it was delivered, should give them a big downrating, cause afterall it was a big cheat, imho

I'm rating this a 6 mostly since the game does function most of the time. So many features are still missing from BF4 that are found in most newer FPS games - matchmaking, balance between sides, pre-game lobbies, etc. The server style reminds me more of older FPS games such as Quake... at least Quake loaded within reason back in the day.

The graphics are as nice as they were in BF3 with a few noticeable improvements, bit choppy on ultra even for the high end rigs which was a bit unexpected. The sounds of the various objects in the game are still fresh, it makes for some really intense moments that can make even the most casual FPS player feel like a hero if they so wish.

The multiplayer mode is as good as it ever has been, it's battlefield, you know what you're getting as far as game-play is concerned, there is no comparison to the sheer fun that can be had. Personally, i have experienced a few annoying connection issues that with persistence can be overcome, EA does seems to get this wrong a lot (you'd think with all the money saving from shutting down the old servers, the newer ones would be up to the job, no?).

So, enough with the praise and onto the gripe, there is a reason why this game scored 8/10 apart from all the other faults you might find when playing it yourselves, and that is one word, BATTLELOG. A PC issue first and foremost, why does this thing still exist? Why is the integration of social media and games becoming a thing nowadays? The whole experience of having to open each game through a window makes the product feel like it is held together with tape, it doesn't FEEL like a complete game, almost like the game was an afterthought and battlelog itself should take centre-stage, totally unnecessary, just stick to menus, please.

All things considered, it's a good and fun game to play, best played with friends or relatives in squad play to rack up points, the single player is a definite step up from BF3, so check it out.

Crossing over from the Call of Duty franchise to the Battlefield franchise wasnt easy, ive been playing CoD since 2009 and been playing Battlefield since 2010. At the time, I was a CoD fanboy and didnt play anything else, I thought to myself "This game is so good, there will never be a better shooter", and while that was true for some of the CoD games I played, the series quickly came to a downfall. I had pre-ordered BO2 hardened edition and payed roughly £100 for it, a mistake I would regret. That was when I told myself that I would never play another CoD again. What was there to play then? Battlefield. As I said earlier, it was hard for me to cross over, mainly because the game styles from the two games differed so much, CoD was run and gun, Battlefield was PTFO. I got BF3 for my birthday and played the heck out of that game, I simply loved it. Eventually I actually got good at it, and at the end of my BF3 days I was actually proud to call myself a good Battlefield player.

When BF4 was announced I was very excited, and eventually I pre-ordered the Limited Edition and BF4 Premium, something that I have not regretted. When the game came out it was a mere disappointment, lots of bugs and glitches, client and server crashes, game modes broken etc. They had also nerfed the vehicles, giving them a limited supply of ammunition, a mechanic which I hate. They had increased the time it took to reload flares and ECM Jammer from 7 secs to 22 secs, something which keeps you from killing people before some person with a stinger locks on to you and you have to go back to your base. I have to say though that playing as infantry is a lot of fun now, more than it was in BF3, but the horrible netcode gives you those "How the f*ck did he kill me?" moments. I would have given this game a 7/10 until I heard that DICE will be making the limited vehicle ammo thing for hardcore servers only, and also possibly changing the Flare/ECM reload time. That made me give the game a 8/10. Of course, they will be fixing the bugs, and when they do the game will propably get a 9/10 by me. The campaign had a horrible story but very satisfying and fun battles, but Battlefield as CoD is centered around the multiplayer and not the singleplayer.

If you dont mind people having all the unlocks before you and being at a disadvantage, I suggest you buy the game 1 or 2 months after the release. But if you can resist the bugs and want to have all the unlocks at the same time as the others, then I highly recommend that you buy the game now.

I wouldn't worry about "having to be online to play single player", because the single player is kind of garbage anyways. Forcing players to use a website AND origin instead of an executable client is a joke. The minor advantages of this far outweigh the negatives. Steam users be aware that integration with steam/steam overlay is difficult and nearly impossible.

The dedicated servers are not maintained by the developers. There are frequent crashes, mostly due to the abysmal optimization for PC, which was supposed to be a key seller over COD. Honestly expect to be disconnected or experience a DirectX/driver crash once every three games. But hey, who cares? PS4 is where all the money's at, right?!

The gameplay itself is so-so. Modes like Conquest capture the feeling of a large battle excellently. However, I realize that the game itself is only a few months old, and improvements will be made over time. The effort made in cross-platforming with Commander Mode of tablets is ambitious and worthy of applause.

    Ultimately, just play Battlefield 3.

Battlefield 4 caught my interest when i first saw the building fall on the E3 demo, and the first question you asking is does it hold up, and what i have played which is every map and both dlc's . is yes it completely made that building fall down seem like a ordinary day in the battle of Battlefield 4, from the moment i get into battle i immediately get sucked in to the beautiful worlds and maps of BF. thanks to the frostbite 3 engine every gun bullet and shred of grass is well realized and well thought out in the maps in multi player of BF4.

but i bet your wondering, is the game fun.... well yes it is, the game play in BF4 is very well done with almost all guns being very balanced and for a novas it was not to difficult to get the hang of BF4 with a couple tip videos and some practice you should be on your way to being a killer in the Battlefield.

some of the flaws are some balancing issues and some weird glitches and bugs sometimes, also some crashing and on last gen consoles the devs really had to pull back on some things to keep in range of the old hard ware of the PS3 and the Xbox 360, making that great Battlefield experience on pc, not even close on last gen hardware. on next gen it is is almost the same experience on pc, if your wondering

this game is a fun and enjoyable game for novices and noobs and i will be playing i until l i see the Battlefield 5 logo on my origin account in 2015. i give it a 8.5/10

Very very bugged product. This is not what I waiting for. It good for beta, not for production version. Will wait for patches with fixes, maybe it became playable.

Just going to say straight off, the crashes and bugs in the game are pretty annoying, im not going to deny that this game has issues, but underneath all that is a pretty damn awesome game on the multiplayer side of things. Levolution, while awesome to look at, doesn't shake things up as much as I was hoping, but on the other hand, they did bring back the destructible buildings that bc2 had, and thank god for it.
As for game modes, conquest and rush are still as fun as they always were, and the addition of obliteration, while frustrating at some points, can really have some tense moments, and overall, is very enjoyable.
Singleplayer was crappy and forgettable, but let's be honest, why the hell would you buy a battlefield game for the singleplayer.
Overall, underneath the bugs and crashes is an outstanding game, and if they are fixed, which they should be, it can get the chance it deserves to shine.

Batttlefield 4 is a phenomenon! Graphics are still outstanding, Levolution has increased the creativity, guns that are more sway and better to use! It's only 4-8 hours on regular difficulty with missions where you just shoot guys but without popcorn movie cliches like Call of Duty does. Overall Battlefield 4 is a great and beautiful multiplayer game that is MUST OWN! Even though the campaign is dull or not interesting multiplayer is the heart of the Battlefield Series. I have rated it a 9.5/10 Expand

    Really this is two games:

Singleplayer 1/10 Complete waste of time. Levels are horrendously designed, AI sucks, dialog sucks, story suck, mechanics are possibly good but who know because the level design is pants. Multiplayer 9/10 Takes all the best from previous bf games and improves the gameplay. Technically it looks fantastic. Level design is much improved. Only hampered

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the bugs. I have had the game for 2 weeks, and it has crashed only twice. I would also like to point out that all the reviews that point out how buggy the game was came out over a month ago and the game has been patched repeatedly.

The multi-player is tons of fun, but I recommend having a team to play with because you can occasionally get stuck with mentally challenged 4 year olds.

This may be a personal thing but I find that I get spawn-killed WAY to much for it to be by chance.

Unlocking things is an absolute pain and the game is not necessarily nice to new people. After two weeks, you should have a decent set of gear to choose from.

The single player campaign is crap and makes no sense and it is made worse by the fact that you actually have to play it in order to unlock certain (good) weapons.

The "Levolution" is just a gimmick and should be viewed as such. It is not a serious game play element. Sometimes, it is fun to take out campers by making buildings collapse, but that is it. It is simply for entertainment and is just a cool thing to have.

Sidenote- RUSH IS INCREDIBLY ONE SIDED. THE DEFENDERS ALWAYS HAVE THE UPPER HAND. IF YOU EXPECT TO WIN A GAME OF RUSH WHILE YOU ARE ATTACKING, YOU BETTER HAVE ONE HELL OF A TEAM. ATTACKERS ALMOST ALWAYS RUN OUT OF TICKETS.
However, since it alternates between defending and attacking, you won't go on a 30 rush game loosing spree and it is still fun even if you don't win.

Battlefield 4 could just as well be called Battlefield 3.5. The new Battlefield features are only marginal improvements over Battlefield 3, but even as such it leaves the competitors way behind. Hopefully the bugs will be squashed soon. [Nov 2013]

Even if multiplayer wasn't buggy, Battlefield 4 would still only be a barely passable installment in all respects besides the snazzy graphics. EA and DICE played it safe by providing the same thing they did the last time around, with another phoned-in campaign and only minor alterations to the online.

Battlefield 4 keeps soldiering on in the same footsteps as previous games in the series. The lack of worthwhile news makes you wish for more. Dice stays in its comfort zone calls for explosions and not much more. The series needs to evolve or fade out.
