    If urban infantry combat with very limited access to vehicles is your thing, you can't go wrong with the Dragon's Teeth map pack. The four new maps are all solid with the superb "Propaganda" having all the trappings of a new fan-favourite. [Sept 2014]

    Additional four maps offer different experience to DLC owners. Finally, we couldn’t call out Battlefield 4 as a “problem game”. But don’t forget: Dragon’s Teeth is focusing on infantry battles and close combat mechanics.

    Even if there are no vehicles in this DLC, the four maps are well designed (a couple of them have an interesting "levolution") and the new game mode pushes the player to coordinate their actions.

    I’ll preface the review by saying that I only play Conquest, Domination, and TDM. Since those are the most popular gam modes, I’m not worriedI’ll preface the review by saying that I only play Conquest, Domination, and TDM. Since those are the most popular gam modes, I’m not worried about bias.

    I’m not a big fan of any of the BF4 DLC. They’re inferior to the DLC released by its predecessor. Most of the maps in BF3 are enjoyable. There are a few maps like Metro that are awful, but those are the exception. In BF4, good maps are the exception.

    Dragon’s Teeth is a terrible addition to the franchise. The biggest problem with the maps is that functionality is sacrificed for vertically. In Domination and TDM, Snipers have a huge edge. Rooftops are easily accessible and just as easy to defend. So snipers can absolutely control the map. In Lumphini Garden and Pearl Market, it’s common for players to take sniper damage or die the first second after spawning. Even with randomized spawning, I’ve been killed by the same players multiple times successively because of their rooftop advantage. Roof camping is worse than the Siege of Shanghai map. A lot worse.

    Sparse cover in Lumphini Garden makes TDM and domination difficult. If the enemy controls the scaffolding, they can pick off players from any position on the map. Spawn. Die. Spawn. Die. Spawn. Die. Roofing camping is just as prevalent in Pearl Market, but there is noticeably more cover being an urban setting. So stealthy players can sneak around enemies.

    The Sunken Dragon map is probably the worst domination map I’ve ever played. Not only can snipers keep players pinned in spawn, 2 objectives are in the same building. So for players who spawn across the river… Well, just forget it. They have to swim across the river undetected, sneak into a building that is a maze of halls and exposed stairs, clear out several floors full of enemies, and then capture both objectives so enemies won’t continue spawning above or below them. Bottom line: get to the freaking building first and hold it at all cost!!

    Other problems plague the maps than just unbalanced design. Spawning sucks. But terrible spawning plagues the entire game. Players get hung up on environmental obstacles like fences, ledges, windows, and pebbles. No exaggeration. The inability to move over obstacles is most obvious when the ground is sloped. Sometimes players can leap a fence, and sometimes they can’t. It’s sloppy programming. Imagine having low health and running from an enemy with a Scar H, just to get hung up on a stupid fence. Oh, and then after spawning, immediately being shot by a sniper camping the scaffolding. That’s Dragon’s Teeth in a nutshell.

    On conquest, the maps are easier. But that’s a consequence of having more space. So is it all bad? No,
    Propaganda is decent. It’s my favorite conquest map in the Dragon’s Teeth DLC. Most noticeably, snipers have fewer advantages because they can’t roof camp. Cover is adequate.

    As more servers incorporate DLC into their rotations, purchasing them will be a necessary evil. Of course, gamers can just open BF3 and enjoy its awesomeness. Dragon’s Teeth doesn’t add anything but frustration to the franchise. The maps are unbalanced and glitchy. DICE needs to take lesson from Treyarch.    … Expand

    Mediocre Game and an Insult to every BF-Veteran. Still better than 2042 tho. DONT BUY!

Gardens is just snag central, walk get stuck on invisible rock, jump walk forward get stuck on invisible rock. A levelution that kills half the players on the map was a great idea. Alleyways is just a camper fest. Propaganda is the only semi decent map. The new weapons / gimmicks are yawn. Played dlc for about 2 hours. Infantry based dlc should have been easy to pull of, but instead they waste time on making it pretty but screw up the mechanics. Bf4 to gather dust again until the next dlc. It's a shame that such a good franchise has to die like this.… Expand
