Every gun you could imagine with over an amount of unlocks and attachments that only a BF game could take advantage of. Jets, helos, tanks, amphibious vehicles, jeeps, little birds, UAVs, controllable robots, AA vehicles, and so much more. It's jam packed with content.

If I didn't say this is the best game I've ever played, I'd be lying. 10/10, thank you Dice!

I wish I could give this game a higher score than 7 but unfortunately I have quite a few issues with it. First of all, half the maps are tiny and aren't open at all. The other half of the maps are really good and there's tons of gameplay options with all the new unlocks and whatnot. Long time battlefield fan and I am truely impressed by the games visuals and sound effects on high settings. I feel that the singleplayer-co-op and battlelog stuff falls short and prevents this game being a 10 for me. That aside, the "main-event" competitive multiplayer is fantastic that for me this game warrants a 9 rather than a 7 or 8.

BF3 is a solid game with some of the most enjoyable multi-player to be found. I can't say much about the single player, I played about an hour of it, then switched to MP and haven't gone back. I really don't understand all of the complaining about using a browser to control the game. Most reviews seem to dismiss it outright, but for no actual reason I can find. Here are some reasons I LIKE the browser. I don't have to sit staring at loading screens anymore, I switch to another tab and browse the web. If I want to check my stats from another PC, it's all the same interface. I probably find this more appealing than most since I'm a developer and can see the sense in it. Yes the game, and battlelog have bugs. That is standard on any game of this size, it's not ideal, but it doesn't make BF3 worse than any other game I've played in the last 5 years. Nothing ships perfectly anymore, so why expect it to? So far DICE have done a good job of addressing issues, so they don't bother me. For me the bottom line is this, I don't know of any other game that can provide the same experience BF3 can, the sound and visuals are fantastic, and the game play is a lot of fun. Huge maps, destructible environments, great vehicle combat. BF3 is the only game I know of that can provide all of those, so if that's what you're looking for, there is no competition. Expand

The game follows closely with the rest of the BF series, with large expanded maps, vehicular warfare, and a reward system for squad based tactics. Every class is useful with each of their jobs and the game tries to promote a mix of classes to be a more successful squad when teamwork is being used, even in their "condensed" form. (example: assault and medic class combined into one). On the other hand, not having a Commander diminishes it's value because of certain tactics is now left out of the equation. No more are the artillery strikes, or the map scans, or even supply drops. Much of that is left with the squads and squad commanders, on a much smaller scale. That also leaves out another objective, by trying to go behind enemy lines and take the important commander buildings out. dice took that objective out and turned it into another game mode called rush. Graphicwise, it is one of the more intense sceneries to date. Tracer fire everywhere, with smoke pluming in the background, destructible environments all adds to the feel of a real life battlefield. Destructible environments alone adds to the tactical flare of the game. Can't go around a wall? C4 it and make your own door. Enemy camping in the building and you not having line of sight to the enemy? Tank with a couple of AP shells in that building will bring the building into rubble. I know there are alot of gripes about Origin, but to be honest, I see no major flaws in the system. The game loads lightning quick compared to BF2 or 2142. It will have a learning curve to use, since it is somewhat a new way to interface with the game. We could also say the same about Steam when it first was released. All in all, I find BF3 to be a refreshing departure to the CoD world of Ramboesque style, one man army gameplay, to a large scale full on 64 player war, where squad based team play reigns king. However, the team at DICE recognized the value of public opinion and immediately patched the game upon release and is still continuing to do so. The actual graphics are quite unrivalled and the technology in the Frostbite 2 engine literally makes you jump when a bullet goes flying past your head. The technology and animations are much more fluent and realistic. Still a couple of early release bugs but with them soon to be ironed out, Battlefield 3 is a serious challenger to the FPS genre and says to competitors, "Your move".

But everyone knows that Battlefield always was much of a multiplayer game than single, I was amazed by trailers, then I played the beta and I didn't like it very much... I gave the game a second chance, bought it, played multiplayer and it's just GORGEOUS. I can even say that this is the best multiplayer since CoD4 and absolutely one of the best multiplayers ever. The scale of warfare, the size of maps, tons of unlockables, customization, vehicles (jets are amazing, although not very effective against enemies on the ground), the realism, sound effects, weapon balance and those extremely beautiful graphics (even on consoles it looks amazing)... it's just a must have. I know that some people don't like gameplay like that but for BF fans it's just what everyone was expecting of a new Battlefield game. However, there are many issues that bother me: input lag (especially on Kharg Island and Tehran Highway), no private matches and hitboxes that sometimes act like broken are the biggest ones but I hope DICE will fix this soon. It's a massive game with outstanding multiplayer, even with its issues it's a masterpiece.

Best multi-player game since ET:Quake Wars, best game engine out there, intense 64 player conquest or 32 player objective based rush and fast paced 24 player team deathmatch, there is a game mode for all players.
The single player campaign is what you can expect from a call of duty game, very short cinematic story. Overall a very enjoyable game with hours to spend online.

Graphics wise no other First person shooter even comes close and for a game where it feels like skill is needed rather than just run and gun again nothing comes close. Having now played MW3 I can honestly say that battlefield 3 has out done it sure there are more maps in mw3 but you can probably fit 3 or 4 mw3 maps in one bf3 map. Add to that more realistic or at least great sounding weapons might not be realistic as I have never fired one but sure do sound good, vehicles you control not the AI and a genuine team play orientated scoring system and battlefield is more the thinking man's fps. All that said BF3 is as far away from being MW3 as MW3 is from being BF3 they are completely different games for team play and vehicles choose bf3 for Rambo style run and gun hands down mw3 wins.

I gave it a 9 simply because at this point in time there are some issues most of which don't really have a huge effect on me but there still there and while I like Battlelog it could do with improvement.

I'm of the opinion that this should have been called Bad Company 3. This is not to say its not a great game, it's just not Battlefield without a commander IMHO. The irony is not lost on me that the Box art resembles BC2. Makes me think that the BF moniker was a marketing afterthought.

Had EA/DICE included a battlefield commander, the game would earn a 10/10, easily. As it stand, this is the only glaring omission in an otherwise epic game.

I cant really call myself a cod fan-boy but i am definitely a big fan of the series. Between spending endless hours on youtube and gaming websites, the flaming wars between Cod and bf fanboys caught my attention and it made me wonder what made battlefield so good to be compared to a giant like cod.
Now,I have never played any of the previous battlefield games. I have played 5 minutes of the Bad Company 2 campaign on the PC and the Bad Company demo on the xbox 360. "pssht.. this sucks compared to cod" i said , and never looked back. Until now, Battlefield 3 Beta was doing its rounds when i got a first hand look at what battlefield multiplayer was like. I downloaded the beta and entered the game. Heavily overwhelmed by the sheer size of the maps and the game graphics i was like "oh cool". I ran a few steps and was immediately killed. *rage quit* . A day later i decided to give it another shot, promising myself i wouldn't rage quit. This time i moved around a little bit and very soon it came to my realisation that i was playing this game like i play cod. That was not working, It was difficult to spot enemies and i died before i could do anything else. I couldnt tell the difference between an enemy soldier and my own team-mates .Every kill felt like a reward, even though i ended up killing more of my own troops. I did not play again, till the game was released.
As battlefield 3 released i did not give it much thought because i eagerly waited for the the release of modern warfare 3. On 10th of November i decided that i am going to buy one of the two. Battlefield 3? or modern warfare 3? Here in India , Modern Warfare 3 costs twice of what i paid for battlefield 3 so it kind of helped my decision .i took the leap of faith and I hesitantly bought battlefield 3 . I had bad experiences with this game in the past and i strongly felt it wasn't my kind of game. So before jumping into the multiplayer world i started the campaign. It didn't take me long to finish the game by the end of the campaign i was said to myself "ho-hum Great looking game but quite a weak directive on the story" . And here is where it all got better, I wasn't expecting a whole lot Indian players to be online but i knew i would get fairly decent pings on other asian servers, but i was surprised that every server hosted in India was full and the ping never rose above 30. I jumped into the multiplayer and found it surprisingly easy to spot enemies , use my guns, and overall move around the place.
It became clear that the campaign for battlefield 3 is nothing but an extended tutorial to get used to the game. My brother and me were at the game for hours. The more we ranked and unlocked equipment the deeper into the game we got , everything that was wierd at first began to make sense and fianally i knew how it feels to play a battlefield game....'Awesome". The Graphics simply blew me away. I assembled a high end PC (complete with a GTX 580) and to be honest this is the best looking first person shooter i have ever seen.
the audio and sfx blend in perfectly with the game. The Environment is beautiful and the fact that you can blow up just about anything you see in game is the icing.
But, these are the not the factors that define a good game. Tons of games look and sound great but the key ingredient is the gameplay and Battlefield 3 has loads of it. The team-based gameplay is something new to me and i am thoroughly enjoying it. Watching buildings collapse, seeing your teammates running through the crossfire to revive team-mates or seeing an engineer hard at work at fixing the tank taking heavy fire from the opposition while helicopter and jets scream past overhead amidst the smoke caused by the falling debris really makes you feel like you are part of something big.
Battlefield 3 has been made to take the crown of war based gameplay from call of duty. With the release of modern warfare 3 on its ageing engine and its tried and tested linear twitched based gameplay , Gamers will feel cheated and move on to a new avenue looking for and upgraded mature gameplay eventually migrating to the battlefield camp. Dice has managed to not only surpass but dominate as a better game be it visually or gameplay-wise.
I give this game a 9/10 because dice has made a real winner i take away one point for its campaign which could have been a lot better.I predict this game to be the next counterstrike with a similar cult following.

The detail it the maps and weapons and tanks and enviroment is mind blowing for a FPS, that sought of detail you see in The Edler Scrolls games, not FPS games. But all I can say is that the Multiplayer will leave you feeling like you have accomplished something amazing after each match. The map designs are good. You don't spawn on your enemies shoulders at all. Honestly, I can describe how good this game is untill you play it. Its The Elder Scrolls Skyrim of FPS games. Just bloody amazingly fun. The vehicles are a refreshing thing to have, not really my thing, but they work well.

I think my favorite part of the game are the weapons themselves. Every weapon, all the way down to the pistols, feel very weighty and realistic - they are just fun to shoot. This mostly has to do with the sound design. The sound is incredible, you have never heard anything as realistic as this. Everything from shooting your gun, to the vehicles, to shots being fired in the distance, to explosions and falling debris... the sound will blow you away.

At first, I thought limiting the consoles to 24 players instead of the PC's 64 was going to be a big deal. But, it's not, it still feels like a large battle. If you want a big, immersing, slower-paced, semi-realistic FPS, go for BF3.

Seriously though, the entire package of Battlefield 3 is probably the most satisfying gaming experience in quite awhile. I decided to write a review of my own after reading some of the mixed things others had to say. Look, we all have our preferences for different styles of games, and if you aren't a fan of FPS games, why would you even bother? This game is meant to be played online with your friends (if you have them). I have never played a game that felt so completely and utterly, EPIC. The single player... blah blah whatever. It's fun for a play through, and it's pretty and all that, but who cares? You didn't buy this game for the campaign, did you?! If you did, and you were disappointed then I'm sorry, and better luck next time. Okay, so the online experience; the meat of the game: Challenging, extremely fun, beautiful, rewarding, and a heap of other adjectives I could also pile on there, but in the end, amazing is the only one needed. The environments are completely astounding. You'll hear a jet smack into the ground and explode, a rocket whiz past your face, bullets coming from every direction, and it's scary sometimes. The lighting is unbelievable. Didn't your mom tell you not to look directly at the sun? It can actually blind you! (Well, at least your soldier). Come running out of a building or tunnel and it takes a bit for your eyes to adjust. Did I mention that you can blow things up?! Boom!!! The feeling I get when my squad and I are taking fire from the enemy while hunkered next to a blown up oil tanker; running and diving to get to cover; providing suppressive fire for the rest of my team to advance... it's unmatched by other games. There's vehicles too! Folks, I can't say enough good things about this game, but I can say one thing. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It may be extremely frustrating at times, but put in the time and effort that it takes to learn this game and you will be rewarded heavily. Battlefield 3, in all of its greatness, also has some flaws. I can't really think of any, but I'm sure it does. To those of you who gave this game a low score (anything less than an 8, in my opinion), come down off your mountain top and design a better gaming experience for the masses. At this moment, there are no comparisons. If you want to play sometime, my screen name is Gungis. Expand

Its kind of a surprise to see a game where vehicle, aircraft and foot combat is this well done. Graphics are amazing, since it looks like they were designed with PC in mind and are not gimped by consolitis.

The sound is also incredible, looks like someone finally went to a gun range and shot real guns. If you've shot guns before you will get chills and adrenaline rushes in the firefights, especially indoors.

Great graphics, amazing sound, gameplay, and upgrades.

graphics aren't the best but they are good, i think the split console developing is to blame for that.

I am loving this game! With the obvious exception of the single player campaign. There are a few things that have made me give it an 8/10. These are: Can't seem to get the graphics the same as the adverts! Everything is on highest with a DX11 card, yet it still doesn't look as good as supposed in game footage (from the alpha albeit)

Quite a few bugs, such as people sinking into the ground

My biggest grievance is the random disconnections! I have scoured many a forum looking for the answer to this, but every fix doesn't seem to work for me. I don't think its a problem with ISP so going to just hang back for a patch.

It's all a matter of taste, after all. They each provide a certain type of entertainment – when talking about Battlefield 3, it involves a bigger game, more open in its possibilities and more spectacular. But on a longer timeline, less frantic and with fewer Bruce Willis scenes than the mass appeal beast it set itself to dethrone.
