There is not a reason why this game should not be reveled as the pinnacle in first person shooting. Everything from the vehicles and the audio, the destruction and the fidelity bring this game to life! I would buy this game and give it a 10/10 for its Multiplayer alone. If anyone is looking for a great multiplayer fps then look no further. This is the best one to date!

Amazing look and play to it. BF3 sticks to its roots from previous titles in the series but blows the competition out with the new Frostbite engine! I am proud to say I am an ex CoD fan. Campaign, however, is is average, but my hours will be on multiplayer, so it doesn't bother me much.

"Battlefield 3" makes strong and calculated improvements, reinventing itself with an enviously powerful and advanced game engine, dedicated servers for secure online play and greater progression branches for a deep and invested online multiplayer experience. The single-player story is one with many sympathetic and memorable characters in extraordinary circumstances. More importantly, it's a story that pays respect to America's Armed Forces and to the selfless sacrifices made by the soldier. Seriously though, the entire package of Battlefield 3 is probably the most satisfying gaming experience in quite awhile. I decided to write a review of my own after reading some of the mixed things others had to say. Look, we all have our preferences for different styles of games, and if you aren't a fan of FPS games, why would you even bother? This game is meant to be played online with your friends (if you have them). I have never played a game that felt so completely and utterly, EPIC. The single player... blah blah whatever. It's fun for a play through, and it's pretty and all that, but who cares? You didn't buy this game for the campaign, did you?! If you did, and you were disappointed then I'm sorry, and better luck next time. Okay, so the online experience; the meat of the game: Challenging, extremely fun, beautiful, rewarding, and a heap of other adjectives I could also pile on there, but in the end, amazing is the only one needed. The environments are completely astounding. You'll hear a jet smack into the ground and explode, a rocket whiz past your face, bullets coming from every direction, and it's scary sometimes. The lighting is unbelievable. Didn't your mom tell you not to look directly at the sun? It can actually blind you! (Well, at least your soldier). Come running out of a building or tunnel and it takes a bit for your eyes to adjust. Did I mention that you can blow things up?! Boom!!! The feeling I get when my squad and I are taking fire from the enemy while hunkered next to a blown up oil tanker; running and diving to get to cover; providing suppressive fire for the rest of my team to advance... it's unmatched by other games. There's vehicles too! Folks, I can't say enough good things about this game, but I can say one thing. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It may be extremely frustrating at times, but put in the time and effort that it takes to learn this game and you will be rewarded heavily. Battlefield 3, in all of its greatness, also has some flaws. I can't really think of any, but I'm sure it does. To those of you who gave this game a low score (anything less than an 8, in my opinion), come down off your mountain top and design a better gaming experience for the masses. At this moment, there are no comparisons. If you want to play sometime, my screen name is Gungis. Expand

Its kind of a surprise to see a game where vehicle, aircraft and foot combat is this well done. Graphics are amazing, since it looks like they were designed with PC in mind and are not gimped by consolitis.

The sound is also incredible, looks like someone finally went to a gun range and shot real guns. If you've shot guns before you will get chills and adrenaline rushes in the firefights, especially indoors.

My biggest grievance is the random disconnections! I have scoured many a forum looking for the answer to this, but every fix doesn't seem to work for me. I don't think its a problem with ISP so going to just hang back for a patch.

From what I can tell, many others were having these issues too, and were dinging the game reviews because of it. But I held on, and once I got into the game, I really started to enjoy it. Singleplayer still doesn't hold a candle to multiplayer, so at the end of the day, the multiplayer is so good, I kept coming back for more. It's fun switching up the classes, playing different roles, and upgrading your capabilities. Levels are rock solid in design, and the vehicles make battles feel like real warfare. And really, that's all I care about. Good solid fun... even if it was a serious pain to get this that point. Expand

Also, the game is not without it's issues. Server crashes occur from time to time and many times "BF2.exe has stopped working" will appear when you attempt to launch. There are also some in-game issues. Controls for Choppers and Jets need work and binding controls in general is a bit of a hassle. My only issues with the game are really that you can't cook grenades and at times it will spawn you out in the middle of nowhere when the teammate you try to spawn on died in the process. As far as the game itself... It is GORGEOUS. Even on a modest computer just above minimum specs the game is beautiful. This is the new benchmark for visuals. Persistance is way more like BF2 then the Bad Company series. It's going to take you a while to get to rank 50. 100+ hours if you're a good player. The sound is just perfect. It's almost flawless. Maps are nice and big for the most part and I can't wait for Karkand expansion. I highly prefer team based, squad oriented play over the run and gun style of the competition. Another is Battlelog. I appreciate the fast server browser but launching a game isn't as easy as it should be and you can easily overlook messages from friends. However, on the other hand are some nice innovations and a good multiplayer. Singleplayer is bland, Black Ops style and linear. The menu is clear, another take from the Call of Duty series (I am NOT a Call of Duty fanboy, I just couldn't help seeing that both menus (the Battlelog one not the singlplayer one) are similar). However, its the multiplayer that makes Battlefield and Battlefield 3's is great. Theres only six maps, which is sad, but it is overall a great blast. Torches (a very powerful weapon), prone and destruction 3.0 all help in the mix. If you don't know Battlefield multiplayer of late, you're basically tossed in a large destructable map with 63 other people, heaps of vehicles, some objectives, a team support item and a gun. If this game was multiplayer only and featured an actual main menu (not Battlelog for launching), I would easily give this game a 10/10. Expand

There is currently no fps out there that even tries to make a shooter that feels more life-like than bf3. If you're looking for an arcade type shooter you should play CoD or Counter-strike

If you're looking for an arcade type shooter you should play CoD or Counter-strike (it's not a bad thing to want arcade games). However, BF3 will completely immerse you in a war-environment where cover and tactics matter.

Only gripe i have is with how suppression is right now since it makes bullets fly like they did with the AWP in CS 1.6. But it is definitely not a game breaker.

A proper sequel to Battlefield 2, Battlefield 3 brings fresh new maps, the brand new Frostbite 2 engine which is not only beautiful but includes 'Destruction 3.0', BF3 is a multiplayer experience that is both fun and exciting.

Online play is fluid, realistic, and just fast paced enough to keep your attention without making you have seizures. The graphics are amazing. Personas don't look like cartoons anymore. The leveling system is a huge leap forward from the Bad Company 2. Highly recommend this one.

Purely based on the multiplayer. (Haven't touched SP, I mean. Seriously. Two of the maps can be avoided for 64 conquest purposes (which is all you really need to be playing) 1st, Metro; I dunno who designed this map and thought it to be a good idea, but they should be fired, it sucks. 2nd, Damavand; This is similar to Metro but with a wider tunnel system but is still plagued with the who gets the middle base first, wins. Unless you get a decent amount of people behind with your littlebird. Apart from these two maps the other seven are great and hold many avenues for different gameplay and flanking. Each class has their own merits which can help your team greatly, though for pure gunplay and killing power the assault class is in a league of its own. The infantry gameplay does have a slight smell of CoD but then that really isn't a bad thing as CoD was once one of the best on the market (CoD1 and CoD4) though it's toned down and not on as much cocaine as CoD, it just makes infantry seem a lot more potent then other Battlefields were firing your gun felt like you were throwing stones at people. All around it's shaped up nicely but still has some working out to do, but I am sure DICE is in the gym now pumping keys, oh and guess WHAT?! Dedicated servers baby, with admins and punkbuster, hooah. Expand

Ok, full disclosure, I played about 20 minutes of the single player campaign and quit. Not because it was particularly terrible, but more because the multiplayer is the meat of this franchise, I mean the only singleplayer the original's had was bot mode. Bullet mode for short attention spans like mine.

Graphics - Amazing, simply put the Frostbite 2 engine is superb in its detail, the guns

Graphics - Amazing, simply put the Frostbite 2 engine is superb in its detail, the guns look great, the character models look great, and the maps look spectacular. With that said, I was hoping they would put a little more attention into the interior of buildings, we get the same empty rooms that were prevalent in bfbc2.

Sound - Indescribable until you hear it. Explosions have the ummph you expect them to, bullets passing by you crack like a whip, and vehicles sound like big machines of destruction! Hands down one of the best features of the game.

Gameplay - Gameplay is engaging, one of my biggest issues with gameplay is on the larger maps you will sometimes find yourself having to hoof it to get to the action because **** with the vehicles don't wait for passengers.

Ive bought both BF3 for PC and MW3 for Xbox. MW3 wins to team death-match as BF3 is just too slow, however Rush and Conquest are brilliant. Its great to really work as a team instead of every man for themselves like in COD. Hours of fun. I can run everything in ultra on my GTX580 SOC no problems. There are a few bugs that can stop you from joining games or boot you from the session. And IIve bought both BF3 for PC and MW3 for Xbox. I understand why they wanted to release it seeing as they need to compete with MW3 which even though it is a horrible piece of rebooted **** it would still beat BF3 anyway due to the large amound of 12 year old **** who play it. Multi player is all I have played on Battlefield 3 so far. I don't really have much interest in the campaign. After Bad Company 2 I kind of know what to expect with the quality of the campaign. As I said, when it works it fun. The most fun I've had in BF3 is with vehicles. Helicopters are a lot of fun to play with as are tanks. I can't get my head around jets. They just dont do it for me and I suck with them. The class' are balanced and progression is even throughout them. Although the support class makes me rage like crazy. All support players do is spam mortars and the light machine guns. On line modes are fun and there is a good variety of maps to play on. Graphics are top notch and the environments look great. I recommend battlefield 3 to anyone who likes a good team based competitive shooter. Hopefully the game will be fixed within the next few months. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Battlefield 3 is everything you were expecting, amazing graphics and sound design, huge and destructible maps filled with amazing detail (even on low settings), a fun Co-Op and a small but very entertaining Single Player. Some spoilers and long text incoming... First off, the Battlefield 3 Single Player. Battlefield 3 Single Player is far better than what I was expecting, all the critics saying that it was "cliché" and "boring in some points", but the truth is that Battlefield 3 campaign is really good. The Single-player starts with a bang, and then it slows a little bit. When the story started to slowdown I was I starting to think that the critics were correct, but right after the earthquake mission the the story just got serious and better, I was getting really entertained by it. The cut-scenes were well made and with good performances. The story has a lot of twists and and strong emotional points, witch all of them were very well made, but if you want to understand it, you need to be really concentrated. The campaign is really good and entertaining but it suffers from some bugs, A.I problems and the biggest of my complain, it is too much short. I finish this campaign in 3/4 hours, it might be short but it was entertaining. The Co-Op is very useful for the Multiplayer. It is really fun, entertaining and hard. The Co-Op is also short but each mission is different. The most fun might the chopper gunner, one controls the helicopter and the other is giving covering fire for two squads moving through the village. In the Co-Op you receive points that unlock some useful weapons that you can use in the Multiplayer. The Multiplayer is were Battlefield 3 really shines. Battlefield 3 Multiplayer is by far the best online experience I had (and still having) in 2011, this multiplayer just raised the barrier of FPS shooters in every perspective. The maps are huge and very detailed and the sound effects are top-notch. But this is a small part of this multiplayer experience. The biggest part is the freedom of choice, you can drive tanks, Humvees, jeeps and fly helicopter and jets. But the freedom does not stop here, with the power of Frostbite 2 engine, Battlefield 3 multiplayer maps are fully destructible. a camper hiding in a house near a wall? No problem, just put an RPG, a Tank or anything explosive into work and blow that wall! If that is not enough, just make the house crumble into pieces and dust. The destruction in Battlefield 3 is a real step forward from Bad Company 2. In Battlefield 3, when you start a match the maps are really amazing and detailed, in the end it´s just a pure chaos, in other words, it´s a full battlefield.Unlike some other FPS shooters, in Battlefield 3 you will need to work with your team, being a lone wolf wont help your team win the match. What surprised me most in battlefield 3 multiplayer is the unlocking system, it´s really easy to use and each weapon/vehicle/jets/Helicopters have a lot of unlocks. Before I talk about battlelog, battlefield's multiplayer also has some annoying things and problems in but they will not take away this amazing experience. Now it´s time for the Battlelog service provided by EA. First off, I don´t like that much Origin, but it is in beta stage and in the future it can be better. The Battlelog is where you start the Single Player/Multiplayer/Co-Op modes, in the Beta was not even impressed by the Battlelog, but now I think it is good and very easy to use. In battlelog is so easy to check your stats, unlocking progression, matches, dog tags, etc. In four clicks you can join a multiplayer match with a friend or alone. The stats are all there and you can even check every information of any weapon. You can chat and see your friends progression and stats and even comment every progression that he made during a match, and all of this is for free. For me Battlelog is very simple to use and it is what it was suppose to be, but it has some problems and it can be upgraded with some new things and improvements. This is the deepest and honest review I could have made for Battlefield 3, I made clear all the good points and the bad points, I know I am going to have a some haters down votes but I don´t care that much. It's all a matter of taste, after all. They each provide a certain type of entertainment – when talking about Battlefield 3, it involves a bigger game, more open in its possibilities and more spectacular. But on a longer timeline, less frantic and with fewer Bruce Willis scenes than the mass appeal beast it set itself to dethrone.
