WB continues to kick loyal fans in the balls by giving those who have stuck patiently and loyally to this broken, buggy (but just playable on top line hardware) release free copies of Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Origins.

Y'know, the ones that anyone who is playing Arkham Knight already owns and has completed because it's a trilogy (plus a cash-in prequel)... Also, here's

Released as the most broken port I've ever seen.

Literally, the worst trash I've ever seen get released to consumers.

Rocksteady and WB don't care about PC users, they just wanted your money for a broken product, and realized that Steam refunds weren't letting them screw us over and keep our money so THEN they pulled it.

The negative reviews are due to its initial low performance. Atm if you get a decent enough computer it will perform perfectly, a couple of glitches aside. That being said, the game itself is underwhelming, but worth the money.

I think a lot of the existing low reviews were made after playing the original, apparently awful, release. I bought this in October '15 after a major patch, and I have been thoroughly enjoying it so far! It has all the things I liked about Rocksteady's first two Batman games plus a lot of new things. If you like the first two Batman games, definitely get this one!

so get your ass straight you **** **** they're the ones for the bad Arkham Origins PC port too.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. AK wants to be more of everything, and this is where it fails.

The basis of the game is solid and where this game simply is an additional version of its predecessors, it works fine: Flying through the city, hand-to-hand-combat, voice-acting and especially the over-arching joker-related parts are superb.

But where it tries to add onto the tried and true formula, it fails horribly:
    - The new story is just too much of everything. Does it really have to be such a doom scenario?
    - The character of the Arkham Knight is shale and stereotypical. Plus, his vast arsenal of mercenaries and resources going unnoticed is just silly.
    - Technology always was a bit too over-the-top in the Batman universe, but this time, it is just too much to be still believable. The voice imitation device? Instant hacking of everything?
    - Logical flaws (like being allegedly unable to hack a number-pad, because it contains no electrical parts ... wtf? ... just to make you use some admittedly nice surveillance camera trick).
    - The worst offender now is the Batmobile. Sure, it is fun driving around, but it is so grossly overpowered and this whole drone-thing that comes with it is just lame. Reminds me of the old C&C days, where the soldiers (in Germany) were allegedly only robots with green blood. Sure.
    - Framerate drops and stuttering as soon as you call the Batmobile.
    - During an extended and repeated chase scene, you fall through the ground and have to drive for five minutes to make up the lost distance because apparently every tank can drive as fast as the Batmobile.
    - Batman does not kill, but he rams people while going over 100 km/h, be they on foot or in a car. Very meh.
    - Far too many riddler riddles. 247 or so. Artificially bloated gameplay.

So while the basics are ok and the Joker-Batman-thing is great and the real core of the game, the rest is a major game-design fail.

And don't get me started on the port.

This should have been so much better.

The game itself is fine, it has everything you'd expect from an Arkham game. Everything from the previous games has been refined, but sadly the game doesn't really invent in any interesting ways. The only really new thing is the batmobile, and it is fun to drive in small doses, but it's definitely overused. There are lots of boring drone fights and there are even car race tracks made by Riddler that make no sense whatsoever.
The story is alright, but quite predictable. The character Arkham Knight is more annoying than anything else and his identity becomes clear far before it's actually revealed. In the end, he doesn't really even contribute anything to the main story overall, he just kinda hangs around and wants to kill Batman (like every other Batman villain ever).

It's nice that the game is finally in a good enough condition to play at least mostly properly. The game doesn't surprise and it definitely doesn't like feel like a grand finale to the Arkham series. It's good, even great sometimes, just not great enough.

I thought AC Unity was bad but in its current state many pc users will find this game unplayable given the poor optimisation and sloppy pc porting. I am partly to blame for preordering (the one time i do lol); certainly learnt the hard way not to do that.

    Now the positives:
Ive played 25 h to complete the main campaign and the actual story, gameplay mechanics, open world are really good (the story in particular wraps up nicely and the game is very hard to stop playing because of the excellent story progression). This is probably my favourite arkham series episode of the trilogy because of the underlying satisfying substance of the game. Too bad and though i recommend the game I don't suggest you consider buying at present (you cant anyway) given its poor execution on pc...

Be careful with the ratings since people love to hate even though the overall experience is not as broken as many would say (although it is obviously sub par).

I can play the game at almost 30 fps locked at it's lowest settings with a 3770k and a GTX660ti and I won't complain the game looks fine and I imagine someone with a newer card wouldn't have any problems. The map was much better and didn't need the transition to 3D. The gadget panel should have stayed real time and not put into a separate menu that pauses gameplay. Last but not least the batmobile addition seems kinda forced. The critics were spot on about it. Some levels will take so much time to complete because the stupid batmobile lost steering or you didn't drive that great. The first game didn't piss you off with something like this and I have a feeling they should have just made the batmobile work in fewer sections of the game. Expand

I thought mass effect 1 was bad in terms of PC optimization but this is a straight up joke. 30 fps cap on my friend's beast computer and my computer which is a r9 280x w/ fx8320 and it cannot run 30 fps. Same old, same old. Arkham Knight is way overrated, I seriously couldn't get past the first two hours due to pure boredom. Tank is a nice addition, but this isn't a shooter! This is not what people want. The rest, well, if it's your first Batman game in Arkham series you'll have ton of fun but otherwise it's not worth it.

There are a few glaring bugs still present in the game which is why I scored it as a 7 where it could have been higher. One of my personal pet peeves is when my control over my character is taken away or diminished, something this game does often. I could overlook it if not for the many unskippable cut-scenes and activities where I'm stripped of all my control and gadgets save one for some specific action that must be taken. It's this mechanic that has caused one of the more troublesome glitches where you become stuck because the game has again limited your ability to control Batman but hasn't provided the object you are supposed to interact with, thus leaving you stuck forever with no choice but to start over or quit. Despite these flaws the game is still enjoyable and I'd say if you're a fan of the series the game is very much worth picking up, though I'd look for it on sale as it's not worth full price in it's current somewhat buggy state. If not for the bugs I'd give it an 8 or 9. If not for all the times in game where I lose control of my avatar for nothing more than a cut-scene or one of the several times I'm forced to stand around and watch scenes play out while I'm restricted to doing nothing but watching (with no way to skip ahead) I would score it higher still. First things first. The game - mostly - works for me. When I bought my PC some years back it was a high end gaming rig but now it's just middle class anymore (i7 3.4 GHz processor, nVidia 560ti, 8 gig RAM) so I don't really mind the 30 fps framecap. Having grown up with 8 or 16bit pixel games I never cared too much about a few more or less fps anyway as long as the graphics run smooth.

I also had a blast with Arkham Asylum and Arkham City is one of my most favourite games of all times but even though Arkham Knight doesn't run too bad on my machine I'm pretty disappointed with it:

    1. It's a joke how they treated the PC port. I shouldn't be one of the few guys this game mostly works with, bugs should be the exception of the rule, not the rule itself.

    2. The bugs and glitches I had were still pretty annoying. I'm at 74% now and so far I had five crashes and some very annoying glitches and bugs (not being able to get out of the batmobile, not being able to pick up Riddler Question Marks from solved puzzles, health bar not regaining after fights and one time when I loaded up my save Batman even was UNDER Gotham City and kept falling and falling into a black abyss - Reload didn't help, "fortunately" a system restart did)

    3. The quests are nothing like in the last two games. Most missions are boring and repetitive fetch quests รก la Dragon Age Inquisition: Free x Fireman, destroy x shields, find x bodies, disarm x bombs, extuingish x fires, destroy x enemy towers, etc etc ... Giving the long time they took for developement and especially the much greater variety of the Arkham Games before (heck, even Origins was more interesting here) this was extremely disappointing ...

    4. Overuse of the Batmobile: Often one more feels like in a Batman-GTA than in a real Arkham title. Over and over again the game forces you to use and fight with the Batmobile and those fights usually are extremely boring and repetitive.

    5. I'm only giving the game a five at all because of the interesting main story, the - basically unchanged and so still great - melee fighting system, some (but much too few) great side quests and the old Arkham feeling which still flashes through during certain missions when you have to use stealth and ingeniosity to neutralize your foes like in the Arkham games before.

Overall though, this game is pretty disappointing. It's still a not too bad game but a huge disappointment for the last installment of the Arkham series. I would have given one point more if Rocksteady wouldn't have treated the PC gamers like second class citizens. But even without that and given how great Rocksteady's predecessors were I still can't believe how devoid of imagination Arkham Knight is.

I have an AMD R9 280 w/ 3 GB VRAM and an AMD FX 6100, OC to 4 GHz. I run the game on a standard HDD, not an SSD. I only have 8 GB RAM, and it's not anything fancy, like that new DDR4 stuff. Even with a bottleneck processor, I can run this game at a solid 30 fps at High Settings, and with those specs, that's not too bad... Not too bad at all.

May it's because I wasn't expecting to be able to run the game at 60 fps anyways. I wasn't expecting to be able to run the game at all! I got ahold of it after all the terrible reviews, complaints, and cry-outs. I ignored this 1.7 (at the time of review) user score and the negative steam reviews, and let me tell you, it was worth it.

If you have a system like mine and don't mind using key-sites (g2a, kinguin), go ahead and pick up a copy and see for yourself if it will run. I still get the occasional stutters and there are some animation bugs, but that's to be expected out of a relatively massive open Arkham City, which looks amazing, might I add.

Oh, and the game is quite good, especially if you liked Arkham City. Much better than Origins. This rating of 10 is to tell some of you that there are working copies, and this is playable, even if it is a rarity. I'm sorry that it didn't work for you, but there is a chance, and there should be a patch, just be patient. Warner Bros also has Mad Max to worry about.
