  1. Spin aside, for those with a taste for the creepy/weird and a willingness to see through the grime of the world into the heart of the spirit, Bad Mojo is an extraordinary adventure.
  2. Strikingly original, Bad Mojo (meaning "black magic") is a gritty, action-based exploration that sucks you in with great visuals, and keeps you playing with a poignant story and clever obstacles that bar your progress from room to room.

A tremendously fun game; I don't usually play adventure games, but this one held my interest from beginning to end. With excellent roach animation and plenty of interesting locations to wander around your senses are kept keen, and the stylish video clips add very well to the eerie atmosphere.
  4. An ambitious adventure game of epic proportions, especially from the perspective of a roach.
  5. A true one-of-a-kind experience; unless you absolutely can’t handle the gritty material, you owe it to yourself to hunt down this quirky game.
  6. A unique game and a nice change of pace to the "standard" adventure template. It puts you in a very strange scenario, one you won't see in many other releases. Some will find it disturbing, some will find it intriguing, and I'm guessing that almost all will find it just plain different.
  7. This game, like too many now, is just a clunker wrapped up with pretty graphics. It may satisfy all you gamers that absolutely despise the bright and cheery atmosphere of Myst, but lacks in gameplay. So don't worry about calling the Orkin man, this cockroach is just about dead.

I had heard about it many years ago but I recently remembered of it after seeing it mentioned in a list of good old games. The video cutscenes are silly (and very low quality) but they are funny but the gameplay is impeccable. It surprised me that while it was traditionally harder than newer games, it wasn’t that bad and I think the balance of its difficulty even for 2019 was excellent. It did not hand hold you and a puzzle or two could have better controls to make more sense, but it always gave hints. Only minor gripe I have with it is that the symbol that denotes there’s a guide nearby could be more explicitly explained at the start as an existence in the game because resolution was too low to notice it at the start.

Anyway, 9/10. It could easily be remade or turn HD.

PS. It would likely digust you at first. I nearly stopped playing the game entirely because of it. But it’s part of its character.
