Absolutely average in every way. More events and more personality would really help this game, as well as more variety during events, but this is just a good way to experience the heart-pounding thrill of oncoming carpal tunnel syndrome.
-
I see absolutely no point to this game. If you're playing Athens for an enjoyable gameplay experience, prepare to absorb a sack of bricks to the wrists.
-
Nice try, Eurocom, but let’s face it: the track and field genre of videogames is still dead. Honestly, developers should just give up on making them.

PC FormatYou're left with Commodore-era finger bruises and PS2-quality graphics, and you don't even get the full complement of Olympic sports. Rubbish. [Christmas 2004, p.122]
-
A lousy port of a console game of middling quality. The timing of its release is almost more of a liability than its technical aptitude, making Athens 2004 for the PC almost wholly irrelevant.
