I think this is the best the AC-RPG combination could offers in term of gameplay and plot-wise. The combat feel more grounded now and while for most of the time it still feel very easy there are some occasion where it requires patience and precision. The enemies are less spongy and there are more variations than just the classic warrior-archer archetype. The enemies are less spongy and there are more variations than just the classic warrior-archer archetype. But, I gotta say the strong point for Valhalla, aside the combat and hidden blade return, is the story but it takes a while for it to come together, so I understand why some people feel bored and I don't blame them this is something that Ubisoft has to work on for the next installment. If you're a long-time fan and despise the new RPG style I won't recommend this game but I do encourage you to check the first civilization, Aelfred and modern setting story! It explains a lot of things that we don't quite understand in the pre-RPG AC games. Expand

Really good plot, huge and detailed open world. Really nice graphics for a cross-gen game. For me loose one point for the technical problems at the launch.
A slap for the ones that who have been saying that the AC saga is dead.

A perfect blend of old and new AC mechanics. A bridge to the next gen. Every quest is wholesome and organic. Satisfying combat. Gorgeous setting. Runs well on my 1070 PC.

Ubisoft is one of the most important gaming companies ever. That's absolute fact and absolutely nothing will change that. They release multiple games every single year, every year. Then there's this group of idiots who sht on all their games, while at the same time hyping up companies that release 2 games in ten fcking years. Ten years. It's not me hating on "CDprojectred", hell no, i like them very much. My point is that without Ubisoft, gaming landscape would be incredibly empty. Imagine world without Far Cry's Assassin's Creed's, Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon's, Division's, Rainbow Six and so many more. There has to be some company that makes AAA games while these other companies makes two games in 10 years. How is it so hard to understand? Without Ubisoft there would be basically nothing, but endless multiplayer games and "Marvel's Avenger's" type of trash. That's not the world i wanna live in. I wanna live in world full of tons of different games each year. Of course there's also this bunch on sonyfanboys (again not talking about people who own playstation, talking about fanboys, i own playstation as well) that act like only games worth playing are console exclusives, that let's be honest are usually story simulators full of endless cutscenes, these are more movies than games, i personally want actual games ya know (and yes there are also good ones like Bloodborne.)
Everyone acts like life lasts forever and it's cool to endlessly whine about some companies while waiting 10 years for a game from another company. All we have is 100 years (usually way less) and then it's over. Forever. So instead of constant whining, either enjoy the game or just don't play it, if you don't like it. It's that simple.

Would recommend this to Assassin's Creed fans who liked Black Flag or even Unity. It's extremely well made and possibly one of best open worlds in whole series.

I love this game. The game is surprised me TBH. I never thought this game will be any good But after playing it I realize how good this game is.

Story: Story is good Not gonna spoil anything. Gameplay: If you liked Origin and Odyssey combat systems you are definitely gonna like this. The gameplay is similar and has some new things like Settlement building and rads etc. And thank god

AI: They definitely Improved the AI. Of course, sometimes they stuck on the terrain or run headfirst into a wall But they are now more creative AIs works together to perform some attacks.

Openworld: Where to begin!! I always believe when it's come to build an open world UBISOFT knows how to nail it. The open world is huge and there is a lot of stuff to do in it.

Disclaimer: If you are looking for fresh missions every single time. None repetitive game this isn't the game for you. GG

I loved origins but odyssey needed more depth in story. Valhalla is a perfect game in every aspect minus some bugs that can be fixed with some patches.

AC Valhalla almost feels like "Thank You" letter from Ubisoft to all their fans that have supported them past 7 years. It's truly amazing game and there's nothing more that pisses me off than these absolute nolife losers who give zeros without even caring about this series or buying it. I wish all the worst in your lives.

Why Metacritic allows reviews with zero scores from people who clearly don't even have this game, makes absolutely no sense. But whatever i guess. This game is amazing anyway. I would give 9, but now i'm forced to give 10 to get this score to where it needs to be.

Like i totally get it when someone is burned out of Odyssey and is not interested playing another 100 hour epic, but here' the thing, this one is so much better than Odyssey ever was. But in the end it's obviously up to everyone individually what they want to play. To me, this is my favorite AC setting ever (Norway-England-North sea). Not only that, it's overall great game, good story, good voice acting, amazing graphics, one of the best map designs in history of Ubisoft. It's easily one of the best games of 2020, there's not even much competition. Like of the few games that can compete with this (from 2020) is Final Fantasy VII Remake and maybe Doom Eternal, that's literally it. These two are completely different games from AC Valhalla, so it's almost unfair to compare them, but all of them are quality games. Expand

If you liked Black Flag, but didn't really care for Odyssey, i would strongly recommend trying Valhalla. It's best of both worlds. Stunningly beautiful game world, both Norway and England truly shine. One of my favorite games of 2020.

I have heard console versions are not perfect, some screen tearing? But on PC it runs well in my opinion. "Easy Allies" youtube channel gave this game 8.5 out of 10, that's solid score, i would recommend checking that review out. I like this game, feels way more Assassin's Creed than Odyssey.

Haters can just f..ck off honestly. I'm so done with this "i had this one bug, 0/10 reeeeee", like grow up or something. Nothing is perfect, Ubisoft usually always fixes bugs and this launch has been actually pretty okay, so far i like this game a lot.

AC Valhalla has very big map and it's very long game, so basically if you don't like long game, there's no point trying this one. But if you do like long games, it's very solid. One of the better AC games imo.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a great-looking open-world game with impressive landscapes and cinematography. However, the checklist collectible open-world still needs some work to feel truly engaging, and combat is too tedious and too frequent to be compelling. As a lapsed fan of Assassin's Creed trying to see if I can click with the series once again, Valhalla didn't quite hook me as I was hoping it would.

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

Sneaking is fun, fighting is fun, walking through the great outdoors is so much fun. Sightseeing too! Valhalla is free minded and could be innovative, but lacks skills to persuade its players about that. [Issue#308]
