I have played over 40 hours by now. Only bots are at Cyberpunk 2077 who are trying to get better score for this broken unfinished mess. People like you are really cringe. It's very well done re-creation of England and Norway in 800's and it's not copy + they fixed all the problems that Odyssey had, now you have hood that you can take off at any moment, hidden blade is back, parkour is back and there's no xp grind. The story is interesting and heavily based on history, characters have depth and make you care for your relationship with them. Voiceover work was done incredibly well both for the characters and the npc, it never felt like you were listening to a dude with a mic pretend to be someone. Their idea of being able to switch characters (genders) at any point with their clever signal scheme is very very nice, I can't count how many times I changed. Combat is smooth with nice hit impacts, every hit feels like it stuck in your opponent, the parrying system is very easy but balanced unlike other ac games were you were literally a god amongst men. I like that fights aren't leveled locked, for example I managed to raid places way above my level on my 40th attempt and a lot of swearing. When it comes to graphics no surprise there it's top notch. Music bangs and cinematography is decent. Lots of weapons and armors to choose and find. The store weirdly enough does not contain the coolest stuff in the game (except valkyrie armor i had to buy that it was beautiful). Also most of the store items or weapons at least you can get without money from vendors (luck based). Stealth gameplay is nice, the guards are the right amount of aware, they don't have the all seeing eye of aurus and they don't have object permanence issues. I also really like the quality of life decisions they made with the auto guided boat and horse that actually work well unlike witcher 3 were the horse would end up in narnia if you trusted it. Overall a very good game that I can safely recommend Expand

Another complaint would be that ocean feels really empty, there's hardly anything in the ocean, compared to Odyssey that had sunken temples and whales, sharks, sunken shipwrecks. Maybe i just haven't looked enough, but so far it seems that there's nothing to explore in the ocean in Valhalla and that's a shame. I was hoping for giant squids and stuff, because it's the correct region where they actually live in real life, but i guess Ubisoft didn't want to take that risk, because "giant squid too scary, whore cares that it actually exists". But negatives out of the way, it's still really solid Assassin's creed game. Not better than Black Flag, but overall it can be fun. I was just expecting little bit more. Hopefully next game will be this huge leap, but Valhalla is still okay. But it fixes so many things that Odyssey lacked, like solid story, more interesting map, not grindy anymore. There's room for improvement, like adding more legacy outfits, adding something to ocean?? Please Ubisoft?? Unless it was always meant to have empty ocean, but it's just weird idk. But like i said it's still way better than Odyssey, even with it's flaws.

There's absolutely no question that i'm bigger AC fan that he could ever dream to be. Calling Valhalla garbage is biggest joke in years. Valhalla is easily better than both Origins and specially Odyssey. Valhalla is first AC game in long time where it has been really interesting to finally explore the open world. You mentioned how interesting pyramids were in Origins, well of course. But here the thing, they were one of the few interesting things about Origins. Most of it was boring empty desert. I don't hate Origins, but it wasn't as interesting as Valhalla. Valhalla has way better story, better character and better open world. You said that England doesn't have landmarks or places to explore. Kidding me? London? Stonehenge? Huge castles? Mountains in Norway? There's so much to explore. Valhalla is easily one of the better designed maps Ubisoft has ever done, just behind Black Flag. There you go. You said that you laugh at people who think Origins is meh, well i laugh at you saying that Valhalla is garbage. There's clearly, very clearly more people who like Valhalla than Origins. Valhalla was biggest PC launch for Ubisoft EVER. It had over 2 million players in launch month alone. Jor Raptor gets 100 000s views on almost every Valhalla video he makes. People very clearly like this game and many have said that they absolutely love Valhalla map designs. Showing your "poll" as some evidence is BS, because most people answered that they haven't even played this game, but you said that people agree with you. Hell no. Thankfully you don't get that many views, so i don't really care that much, but this one video made me write this, because it was just too much nonsense. If you can have your BS opinion, then i have every right to have my opinion about your video and point out false things. I have been Assassin's Creed supporter and fan over 10 years and i very likely like games that you don't even like, because you seem like somebody who hops on hype trains. If it's like black flag or even Unity, i would be fine with it, because Unity already had tons of customization options and rpg elements, it also had better parkour than any of the older games. Here - Assassin's Creed Valhalla fixes all the mistakes Odyssey did and brings back old AC elements like hidden blade, ability to wear hood and social stealth. AC Valhalla has multiple smaller maps (North America, Norway) and one big map (England). Variety of enemies is bigger than ever, over 20 different enemy types.

It's so obvious that you are just some sad loser with your fake account. You have 3 reviews and two of them are just you whining about Ubisoft. Literally every Sony story simulator gets thousands of fake reviews with 10/10 scores. Another example is Cyberpunk 2077 that has over 19 000 positive reviews, most of them are fake double accounts. If you were smart enough, you would understand that Ubisoft could do same with all their games, but they very clearly don't care.

They could fix AC Unity user score in two days if they wanted, but ironically they haven't even tried for past 7 years. They very clearly don't care about this site at all. But you seem to be typical loser who spends all his days on metacritic whining about some games, while other people enjoy these games. How pathetic. I have finished Unity almost each year since 2015. I'm also playing 4 constantly, but i haven't finished it as much, because it's way longer game and i love to just free roam there. Now i would say that despite not liking 1,3, Revalations or Rogue (i hate to play as Templar), i would say that absolutely loving later games like 4, Unity, Syndicate and Origins makes me as much Assassin's Creed fan, as someone who only likes first 3.

In fact, i would say i'm bigger fan than these people, because if someone gave up on this series in 2012, then how can you consider yourself a fan? Maybe early fan, but overall if you hate majority of these games, then you are not fan of this series. It's that simple. Why i'm even talking about it is because watching some youtubers making videos "Valhalla disappointed me", "Valhalla is boring" etc, made it very clear that these people were never gonna like Valhalla anyway. No matter what Ubisoft did, these people wouldn't be happy right now and they would still make their videos whining about smallest details that they didn't like.

Instead of enjoying new games for that they are, instead these people want games to be what they want. That's obviously fair, but again, seems like they have ignored this series since 2012. It was so obvious what Valhalla was going to be. How can you be disappointed, when trailers and Ubisoft people on twitter made it very obvious what this game is going to be. Basically no matter what, these people just wanted Valhalla to be this most basic and boring AC Revalations or AC 3 clone and that's all these people want. That's the only AC game they want and if it's not that, then they are going to hate it. That's the sad reality actual AC fans need to live in, where Ubisoft makes great games, but nostalgic people who can't move on are going to hate these games and make their videos. Main problem with these videos is that these people are very clearly trying to manipulate and make other people believe that this game (and other games) suck. While actually problem is not the game, problem is that they just don't like it. Just cause you don't like something, doesn't mean that it's actually bad ya know?

Conclusion : I very much enjoyed Valhalla, it's not perfect, but it's way better than Odyssey was. Story is more interesting than Odyssey's story. It has beautiful graphics, not as good as RDR 2, but still good enough and very modern looking. Combat is fun, main character (male Eivor) is very likable and better than main characters in Origins and Odyssey.

Origins world design was nice, but it had other issues. Odyssey was all over the place. Valhalla is still not perfect or Black Flag level, but it's easily best of last three. Expand

    AC Valhalla is really nice.
It tries to bring back what was missing previously.
With next AC something needs to change tho, like big change.

I'm glad i played it, Ubisoft once again proves that they can make good games, if they actually try. Can't wait for their E3 presentation in June.

Awesome game, glad to see how many people like this game. Haters can go play their call of duty and leave Assassin's Creed games to intellectuals.

It's not Red dead redemption 2 level great, but it's still way better than most of 2020 lineup. Would recommend, if you are interested in Viking times.

There's a lot of stuff you can do in this game, but my favorite might be free roaming with Altair's outfit. I think it's best of last 3 AC's, mostly because i like the setting and time period, way more than Greece for example.

Not best Assassin's Creed, but far from worst as some people claim here. Hype for DLC is unreal.

There were bunch of bugs for sure at launch, but that doesn't make or break game for me. After latest 14GB patch it's actually pretty good. I would love to give it solid 8/10, but i can't because some lunatics give it 0/10's. So i have to give it 10/10 regardless, so this score wouldn't go down. This type of people mean nothing to me. Cheers. It's actually funny that some people actually dare to complain that Valhalla gets some positive reviews months after launch, while Sony exclusives get 100s of fake positive reviews in first few days. But Ubisoft haters don't have that much brain power to understand that kind of stuff. Expand

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a great-looking open-world game with impressive landscapes and cinematography. However, the checklist collectible open-world still needs some work to feel truly engaging, and combat is too tedious and too frequent to be compelling. As a lapsed fan of Assassin's Creed trying to see if I can click with the series once again, Valhalla didn't quite hook me as I was hoping it would.

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a lot of fun and easy to sink dozens of hours into. It is the best entry in the more recent trilogy and genuinely elevates the gameplay mechanics. Content could be considered somewhat bloated still, but it is diverse enough and the setting and story is solid most of the way through.

Sneaking is fun, fighting is fun, walking through the great outdoors is so much fun. Sightseeing too! Valhalla is free minded and could be innovative, but lacks skills to persuade its players about that. [Issue#308]
