never really been into mechs, but its absurdly satisfying to slice big robots with energy swords. the customization is fun, it looks great, and runs really well on my rig at max settings at 1080p. its also really nice playing a FromSoft game at 120 fps!

A game series that originally put FromSoft on the map, but hasn't seen much play in a very long while, a welcome addition to the AC family. Definitely not for everyone, but for those that have enjoyed titles like Armored Core, Zone of the Enders, etc. You'll definitely get your mileage out of it.

Gameplay, graphics, performance and difficulty is a solid 10/10

Only thing that brings the game to a 9 for me is the story is kind of boring but doesn’t really matter much when the rest of the game is this good. Would give a 9.5 if I could.

the best mech game since ZoE.

    Pros:
    -Amazing action with mechs
    -Great bosses
    -Perfect controls
    -Deep and big mech customization
    - excellent characterization of the characters.

    Con:
-some balancing issues tend to make the game a little too easy if you know what you're doing
-Some problems in the cameras and locking of multiple targets.
-Replaying some missions several times until perfected may not be for everyone

I like what I see and I like what I hear. Definitely a phenomenal game. The story is straightforward and comprehensive but still interesting. The way it's told and framed is definitely amazing, at least for me, in that there's no human character model (an AC staple perhaps), and that you are framed as the bad guy, especially in later cinematics as the story progresses. Decisions and actions made by factions and people in this game is likewise mostly devoid of humanity, reflecting the armored core of Armored Cores: corporate greed and consequences of the arms race. One of the best thing in this game is that while dodging doesn't provide i-frames, you can definitely dodge a lot of stuff, giving the sense of an intense dogfight more appropriate to the flying tank you control rather than a conventional duel, so to speak. Another strong point is the game encourages you to prepare ahead for missions, and you have to use this opportunity of knowledge and creativity in tandem with the aforementioned skillful display. I've found that every build I've made worked, whether I'm fully decked out like a tank, or gunslinging with 2 pairs of shotguns, or melee only while cosplaying as Gipsy Danger. However, because of this, I thought the game could have had more parts to reward your creativity, especially when there are items in this game that affects your lock-on, and there's not many of those. Even generators that affect your "stamina" differ minimally. Another opportunity is in the game over screen. When you lose, the game allows you to change parts, because quite a handful, if not most, of the bosses and mini-bosses are challenging and also catch you off-guard. However, this somewhat counteracts the prepping, because why prep when you can just change things up? I'm looking forward to an update where this option can be switched off, especially for ng pluses.

The game could definitely use some more content (even though, and because, it's meant to be played repeatedly), more items, parts, oponents. It has a lot of bombastic cinematic set-pieces which I thought it could also use more of, but maybe that's because I just want to see more things go boom. I like all of the characters in this game. They're all sad in their own ways, which is probably why.

This wonderful game feels like it's the testing ground for bigger things. Maybe like a poking stick to test if the market still desires more Armored Cores. I hope interest for this game far exceeds what its makers intended, and, because this feels like a fresh turn of the leaf, I highly encourage you to play this game as Armored Core 6, instead of comparing it to older titles. Give this game a chance, blow up a planet, you will not regret it.

And this may make you think the game is so complicated at the beginning of the game, but after chapter 1 you'll see that the game is not as hard and complicated as other Fromsoftware games. There is exploration in the game, but it is not enough for me who thinks that exploration is important. There are some hidden items in the quests, of course there is the Moonlight Greatsword which is hidden in one of the quests (you may want to know that if you're from soulsborne). So if you have been playing the same old open-world cinematic games over and over again and you want something that brings fresh air, then play this game.
This game plays really well, smooth, optimized, and fun. Bosses are challenging and you are expected to change your builds to optimize against certain bosses. Some bosses even require you to do specific builds to counter them. The missions can go from 1 minute to 20 minutes which is a weird choice in today's world. Later on in the game, the game missions go for much longer and you will need to resupply. There are secrets or areas in the game you need to look for if you want to get new parts for free. The game is extremely replayable even though the game is an average 10-15 hour game. There are small variants of branches you can choose throughout the game and get a different ending. So you are expected to replay the game.
Is this a 10/10 game? No and the only reason why it is that the game suffers from its UI and mechanics. It throws a lot of terminology at you before you can figure out what they are and the contextual menu doesn't help. The best way is to try and experiment with your armored core until you find a build you enjoy.

Too bad that the first new AC out of FROM in many years has to be so overwhelmingly mediocre. Dull visuals, weak sound design/mix, lifeless world, and too many tired tropes to list. The best bits (AC customization and tuning) are watered down and rendered mostly superfluous (beyond a few basic archetypes) due to the strange and unnecessary injection of "Baby's First Souls Game" mechanics, brain-dead AI, and zero exploration. It's less of an update and more of a step back in time for the series. Ugh. What a shame.

I also don't think the game is as easy as some people mentioned, and definitely not like dark souls. The bosses are challenging, and require observation, adaptation and patience to do well. It's all comes down to how to adjust your mech to counter the boss. Before anyone says that I use the one meta build to beat the game, I have never used the meta build that everyone was talking about. In fact, I didn't even know it before I finished all 3 playthroughs. I played a diverse playstyle and constantly adjusted my mech to suit specific missions.

What I was going to expect an immersive game play, scenery, and story turned into a massive hair puller of a "RESTART TO CHECKPOINT" of boss battles. Not only this immense ridiculousness of the fights are frustrating, it pulls me out of my immersion too. I can't quite enjoy the story nor the atmosphere when the game gives you a massive middle finger and then shoves it up your rectum.

Don't even get me started with the FromSoftware Community. They HATE and i mean HATE criticisms from their games. With nothing more than pure belittlement of "GIT GUD" or "You're wrong" and "You just suck". Rather than having fun and playing the game how you like, the game forces you to go META.

If you are a long time AC fan just be cautious as this will just be another title for the SoulsBournSekiro-like fanatics. You will NOT RELAX with this title. Just emulate the older titles.

Overall, Armored Core 6 is excellent for newcomers and longtime fans alike. It serves as a great introduction to the series, and you don’t need to be familiar with past entries to have a great time. On the flip side, the gameplay and mechanics are familiar enough that you’ll feel instantly at home here if you played AC5 or Verdict Day. Given the positive response to AC6, I hope we see more of the series sooner rather than later. It deserves to be one of FromSoftware’s cornerstones as much as the studio’s Souls games do.
