  • Summary: Armed & Delirious is blander than it thinks it is and certainly less clever and entertaining than it should have been.

One of my favorite games growing up. It's a mix of silliness, creative wonder, and adventure. Also one of a few games featuring an obviously female protagonist with no sex appeal. Graphics are good for 1997, though the setting is very surreal at times.

You play as an old lady who is trying to find her cookbook. Adventure starts in your home. You slowly collect random objects and then use those objects to solve obstacles you encounter later. There's no combat and no time limit. And the game is long and deep. I spent many months on this one, while younger, and never finished. It's a game for people with lots of free time.

I hope to reacquire this one in the future. It's great.
