    To not sound too rough - yes, the game itself is basically just another BR shooter on a    «Let's take Titanfall 2 and instead of continuing development on Titanfall 3 to make the franchise even better, let's throw it into a bin and make another sub-par Battle-Royale game.» When someone says you shouldn't expect anything special from EA, then this game is a latest example of that.

    To not sound too rough - yes, the game itself is basically just another BR shooter on a different game engine wearing a different skin but it doesn't mean it's the worst BR game. If you're into trying every different BR game out there in every couple of months, then you might as well try that one too to experience the futuristic & flashy BR shooter with robots. The game is free and could be fun to some people when playing with friends in first few hours but In my opinion that's all for most people who are expecting a bit more from a (and I quote) Triple-A title.

    Unfortunately the game's main focus seems to be getting you hooked on different direct microtransactions, loot boxes and battle passes to make some quick bucks for EA... and oh boy how many different options the game has in store! EA has come a long way to learn how to promote it's microtransactions after horribly handled Battlefront II and it brings to question if the store and it's features were the main priority when developing the game when seeing these high detail skins and models vs the actual game environment and mechanics dating years behind in terms of quality.

    The game seems dull and obnoxious, I tried my best to invest myself emotionally but it sadly brings almost nothing new to the BR scene (when leaving out the futuristic world) and therefore is an unnecessary addition to the pool of BR games. There was a chance to make a difference with putting in some actual effort but even Fortnite and Ring of Elysium (which are both in Early Access) seem less rushed than this Titanfall-without-Titans game. Calling it a AAA title is just an EA's marketing gimmick.    … Expand

    Games balancing is horrible. Most of the guns are glorified bb guns. A typical fight plays out with you shooting someone 10 times with any gun and them turning and shooting you twice with any gun and insta killing you. Sniper rifles? you can shoot someone 3 or 4 times and still have them walking around.

    Seriously, already toxic atmosphere with hackers galore. Guns are basically lasers no matter what you have. You can snipe with pistols. If you like the toxic battle royal genre and hackers, this game is for you!

    1. Titan combat and pilot/titan interaction
    2. Wall running, double jump, g-slide, slide hopping So it astounds me that respawn decided to abandon every core concept of titanfall, to make a battle royale. There are some great innovations they had such as the ping system and having a drop leader, as long as being able to revive characters. However things such as getting rid of the source engine and changing recoil patterns for guns such as the hemlock and flatline makes me disappointed. It is honestly amazing how they were able to create a game that contrasts its predecessors so much.

    Downloaded this just as it was announced, and must say I'm impressed. In a crowded field of battle royale games, this one is able to innovate and put an emphasis on team-play that I haven't seen any other game do.

    The game itself as a battle royale game is very decent. It's relatively fast, shooting is nice, movement smooth, didn't experience any netcode issues. Comparing to other popular BR games I can't even find any critical flaws this game could have: PUBG is still buggy and just still feels like an indie game, Blackout has significant balance problems and TTK just feels odd to me,The game itself as a battle royale game is very decent.     This is not a game but online casino and should be taxed as a gambling inc. The "game" as such is very bad - servers with 1 tickrate, very bad netcode, movement is very poor and TONS of cheaters. It's a cash grabbing EA scam. As per usual.

    My verdict: Stay away.

    Firstly its eas product, secondly servers were down for really long time, i couldnt even play this game last night. There were problems with downloading this game, origin couldnt even download not broken files really??? And now game cant open. I wish this game could be in development of other studios.

    While you can clearly see that this is a well made game, and was created by a professional studio, it is really about average at best. I don't have a problem with battle royal mode, but having heroes with abilities just doesn't feel right here. Also you are forced to play with at least two other people, which is just ridiculous. Time to kill is freaking ridiculous and extremely inconsistent, because of the design of the game and heroes, you can either kill people with single hit, or have a minute long gunfight where you are just pumping each other full of bullets.

    This is new game and its exciting, but I see people dropping it for whatever they were playing before, or moving to new things once this will get stale here in a bit. Once again, not a bad game, just a mediocre BR game with some questionable design elements that were put into the game to make it "unique" but really don't work that great.    … Expand

    The game's pretty bad with it's optimization, apparently a GTX 1060 Ti can't properly run this game at 1080p and 60 FPS. Also firing a Kraber .50-CAL Sniper can just crash the game.

    A lot of people claim this game is fortnite and Titanfall. While this is some what true, it is by far not the whole truth. This game, unlike others in the genre, actually puts its own unique twist on things. The legends system lets you choose certain playable characters to help your team in various ways this means the character selection can mix things up every game. Overall the game is fun and free, I would recommend most at least give it a shot as it literally cost you nothing.… Expand

    What an annoying smorgasbord of spazzed out color and unrealism. Its seems to be art directed by someone who is constantly dropping acid.

    Combat is reminiscent of Tribes. Guns do so little damage you might as well just use your fists. I have no idea who this game is designed for but it sure as **** not me.

    Finally a battle royale game with some innovation!
    Great classes, great gunplay, great ideas (ultimate skills, reviving teammates), and a optimal time-to-kill.

    I don't like the genre, but this one is GREAT!!

    Just a battle royal game nothing more, very laggy servers, the gunplay feels off, only one type of game mode, you can't play alone, the network lag is unbearable, only a few types of characters, its a laggy mess, something is wrong with the distant gunplay too, poor optimization.

    The unique nature of the Titanfall series has been stripped down, torn out and incinerated in favour of a Fortnite-looking PUBG ripoff with Titanfall's weapons thrown onto the pile for brand recognition.

    The characters -all eight of them- are totally unlikable. Emo chick, gay hologram guy, someone from a nation I can't figure out, and Lucio from Overwatch's sister are the characters you get to pick from in this travesty.

    Better yet on the cover, one of the characters is holding an L-Star from Titanfall 2. This weapon does not appear in Apex Legends, so that's a lie before you even click "go."

    You are forced into teams of three and are left at the mercy of the game at all times, I have fallen through the world several times and been "crushed" while walking around. I'm assuming it was a crush, I just kinda drop dead and it says I committed suicide. A multi-million dollar company has no room for excuses.

    In my very first match, I was dubbed "Champion" of my team, which means I am prioritised by enemies as I give more XP upon kills. This usually only triggers if you were the best-ranked of your squad in your previous match... but this was my first ever match. So that works well.

    The game has a premium currency because of course it does, with the maximum you can pay for "Apex Points" being around £79.99. While these do not allow for Pay-2-Win elements since you can't outright buy equipment, you DO have to buy two characters to use them. So yes, it is in part Pay-2-Win.

    I honestly want this game to crash and burn, it wouldn't be as bad if it released as an extra game-mode on Titanfall 3 - a game I'm not even hoping for if it's in the hands of these "developers."

    Overall...
    Take the "Titan" out of "Titanfall" and you're left with "fall".
    Exactly what this game does.

    Edit; I have recently found out that this game is held together with sticks and twine. Spontaneous crashes far into matches, audio bugging out and not playing at all, massive lag spikes... heh, it really screams "We didn't give a monkeys", doesn't it?    … Expand

The map isn't too big so you don't run like 10 miles to come across a player like in other games. I like the squad sinergy. Ping system is awesome. Guns are cool and gameplay is smooth.     Pros: Fantastic BR title with fresh elements, great game play, and loads of replayability. Graphics are fantastic. Shooting feels just right. Pacing is on point. The hero mechanics don't feel overwhelming or too underwhelming.... each character brings something to the table and provides scenario based advantages.
    Cons: Netcode could use a little work (though it feels alright). Some bugs    Pros: Fantastic BR title with fresh elements, great game play, and loads of replayability. Graphics are fantastic. Shooting feels just right. Pacing is on point. The hero mechanics don't feel overwhelming or too underwhelming.... each character brings something to the table and provides scenario based advantages.
    Cons: Netcode could use a little work (though it feels alright). Some bugs need to be fixed ASAP (auto windowed mode on every restart...... game crashes, and server instability (occasionally).

    Recommendations: Br games need to add some kind of currency specifically for wins.... so that winning feels even more special (gaining items with wins currency)... also the cosmetics are nice, but mostly just fluff. Hopefully they start working on a new map and FAST. because BR titles need more diversity in the map departments. Something pubg actually succeeded in (eventually).

    Conclusions: Great title, minor inconveniences, loot shop needs work. Overall balanced and great experience (especially with friends)    … Expand

    This game is not friendly for players new to FPS Battle Royale and provides no skill level Matchmaking after playing a full day and not able to win a match it just seems repetitive and boring. Not worth time for new players at all.

    The game showed a good side, but still leaves a double location to it. The developers simply took the rest of the BR and added to it. TITANFALL+PUBG + COD: BLACKOUT + FORTNITE + OVERWATCH = APEX LEGENDS. 8 of 10. It is played 50/50

    That being said, I've sunken over 30 hours into this game already in the past several days. I am also someone that has played Fortnite, PUBG, and Blackout to a good extent. I got entirely burned out of the BR genre and had expected that I would never want to play one again. However, I gave this a chance after hearing of other people's surprise by it's quality. After doing so, I learned for myself how incredible it really is. They took almost every good aspect of other BR games, removed the bad, and implemented heap-fulls of new mechanics that make you ask yourself why no one else has thought of putting them into the previous BR games.

    This game focuses on team-play. Many people don't like that they don't have single or two-player modes, but they intentionally didn't include them, it's not that they didn't add them out of laziness. They made the decision that in order to play the game as intended, you need a team of 3, no more, no less. Understanding that fact should make you focus on how to best use and support your team. And they've implemented many new mechanics and tools to help with that team focus, i.e. the new ping system.

    I give this game a solid 10 because of the obvious care that Respawn Entertainment put into this game. True, they have expensive micro-transactions, but because of that, the game is free. You also do not ever need to buy anything in the game. So far, everything that's been in the micro-transaction store has been available for free unlock through just normal playing of the game, even the other Legends (characters).

    This game was done right, and for that, they deserve a better User Score than 6.9 as it stands now. It's only that low because of all of the 0 ratings it's received by those who don't know the purpose of posting a "review" of a game.    … Expand

    There is only 3-person parties which i dont like, cuz sometimes they can be really [not smart]. Game graphix is not iptimised at all. I have like 40-50 FPS on low settings with 1050 ti and i5-7500.
    Game crushes like every 3rd game.

    I don't like battle royale games but this one has me hooked! The shooting feels satisfying and the legends are fun to play. I played Titanfall 2 and loved their multi-player so I'm glad we get to see it return here. It's a free to play game that is actually polished and fun to play.

    So what people say?

    1. Game has micro-transactions
    So what? How does a machine-gun painted with pink and butterflies affects your performance? Standard skins have high quality and decent looks. Only things worth buying for anyone who wants something new are new legends, they don't cost too much and it is absolutely fair.

    2. It should have *** like other Titan games
    I haven't played Titan games and I don't see 'titan' in the name of this game. Wth?

    3. It is team only, and you cant win without a team of friends.
    Random teams plays absolutely okay. I had around 60 plays and we got to the top1 16 times which says winning in the game is no problem. Yes, sometimes you get newbies, other times you get experienced players. Want stable results - bring a friend which I did in the end.

    4. Lags, poor optimizations and so on
    I have seen a lot of AAA game starts, like BF series, and every start is a ton of issues that makes the game unplayable for hours if not days. And I was amazed how well this game runs on its start I had no issues whatsoever. My friend has old CPU and 1060 card which is average at best and he had nothing to complain about.

    About the game itself. I'm not a good writer and I'm sure all things were covered by other reviewers but I would like to confirm a few things I liked very much.
    1. The game feels very optimized and runs very smoothly, in terms of input lag, FPS and network. You feel everything in the game under control and that feeling is so crucial for action games.
    2. Gameplay is so intense and it makes it very good. The gameplay itself and everything in the game organized in a way that you don't have to spend your time waiting for something. You have a new match in a few seconds and match starts very fast no need to wait minutes for other players and other loading screens.
    3. In game pinging is very cool and makes game enjoyable and coordinated for a team with no mics.

    The game has only one map at this moment and after playing 30 hours you know it by heart. I hope we will see more content very soon.    … Expand

    Developers are so lazy that just ignored all who do not have modern processors, took and just did not add support for SSE 4.1 instructions. Absolutely disgusting. I hope you bring down the game to 0. You can't do that to the players.

    This game is actually pretty good, the launch was pretty good (The only problem i've gotten was a bit of lag for 20 seconds). the finishers are cool, all characters feel fun with to play. guns feel balanced and movement feels amazing.

    Literally the best BR game in existence(in my opinion). At first i thought it was just another crappy, unfinished BR game but no, it's not. Actually it is a lot of fun, i enjoyed every hour although i have to mention the lack of "Legends" and Guns but they've already said that they will be adding more of them so no big problem there.     This game is amazing, with good mechanics without locks and other problems with incredible gameplay. I was a bit disappointed by the microtransactions by the EA factor but did not influence the game very negatively. Still for me one of the best games created in 2019 so far, but we have a lot to wait because we are still at the beginning of a year full of games to be released.

    A very solid, well made BR game. It has good voice acting and good characters. The rounds themselves are a lot of fun due to respawns and quick gameplay and good movement. Also the teamplay is good due to the amazing ping system and automated voice lines making it easy to play with randoms.     The only Battle Royale game worth playing. The only people giving this game negative reviews are either bad at playing with a team and want solo queue, are mad that it's not Titanfall 3, or wrote the game off simply because it's a BR. Find 2 friends and play this game, it's fantastic.

    Apex Legends is so far the only Battle royale i enjoyed playing.

    Only concerns are Server issues and occasional lag that caused me to die from time to time and the overall future of this game in regards of new content.
    Also its EA. But i have hopes that Respawn will manage to keep those influences away from this game.    … Expand

Apex legends is a wonderfully made game with fortunately not much development from EA and most of it from Respawn. This allows to play whole rounds without using a mic. Another great mechanic is the games revive system. If you were to get downed by an enemy, your teammate has the chance to revive you (like every battle royal) but If you were to get killed, your teammate can grab your tag and bring it to a revive station. BAM, you're back in the game. This adds a unique spin and I love it.

    One this that should be said is that right now you can only play as a 3 person team. I've played a good amount of games with a full squad and as solo w/ randoms. So far I've won 2 games with the squad and 1 game with just one random. Regardless, each match was fun, entertaining, and exciting. I know that they will be adding more game match options but even as it it now, its fun!

    I've player majority of the battle royal games out today and this is how I would put them into order (top being better):

    Apex Legends
    PUBG
    Fortnite
    Black Ops: Blackout
    Ark: Survival of the Fittest
    H1Z1
    Realm Royale
    The Culling

    I am excited to see where this game goes!

    When I then played the first round I really didn't like how the weapons look, even if their handling is really nice. My problem with si-fi shooters is that you can't really relate to these weapons which makes it hard to really get what's an AR or SMG in the first place. I really don't get the point why guns have to look like that.
    But whatever. The game play really nice and the movement itself is really satisfying. On the other hand, the movement is the biggest issue to me. All this sidestepping to dodge bullets and the fact that everyone feels like a bullet sponge makes it extremely hard for me to really like the gun play even if everything feels responsive. If they can add some strong inertia to the movement without making it painfully horrible to play, I think it can be really great.

    The hero system isn't that big of a problem imo. It's kinda "unique" even if other shooters, even br games, did that before.    … Expand

    Could be the best Battle Royale available. FPP only, top quality, beautiful graphics, epic weapons, Source/Quake engine based for smoothest ride possible. Brought to life by legendary producers who created the original Call of Duty series. Can't get any better than this. Can't stop playing. Forgot to mention. It's free. You can pay for cosmetics if u want to. I will, just to be fair. GL HF.

    At first i did not like it. It was confusing, but then about 10 games or more it became really fun and now i think its maybe the best game i played in a really long time. It needs friends though at the moment when there is no solo option. Try it its free and more than 10 games to make your own decision.

    Apex Legends Is simply one of the best Battle Royale games ever made. What makes this game so great is ping system for easy communications, and Titanfall-esque gameplay with charismatic characters.
