    A really good game with a lot of potential although the with the state of the game right now it may take some months before it becomes great, but the mechanics are very fun and engaging, story is good and flying around in a mech suit is really exhilarating

    Anthem isn't really a bad game. It wouldn't be fair of me to out right paint it only as such, with a narrow viewed mentality. I think there is many positives that I experienced, that out weighed the negatives. I didn't find any major issues with it. I'll start with the negatives first, but I'll admit, I couldn't find many, maybe that's because I'm not a very picky person and I don't nitAnthem isn't really a bad game. I didn't find any major issues with it. I'll start with the negatives first, but I'll admit, I couldn't find many, maybe that's because I'm not a very picky person and I don't nit pick things apart to the most minute features, of course that is rather subjective in view for everyone, but here we go;

    **Negatives**

    * Small glitch like a double Javelin that happened once, overlapping at its station port, when introduced to Tassyn in the cinematic scene.

    *Small glitch when I fly too high above ground and getting to a cut off point and my Javelin getting stuck at the side of a mountain which has happened once.

    * Rubber-banding issues when playing in some missions, but that is my fault because I have a crappy wifi connection, so I am partly to blame for my personal experience with the game.

    And that's all I can think of for negatives at the moment.

    **Positives**

    * I think the graphics are great, that they are sharp and very detailed. Thanks to having upgraded my desktop computer, it has improved the graphics and performance of the game to reflect the high quality put into it by Bioware.

    * I enjoy the dialogue among the NPC's that you run past and hearing what goes down among the people in Fort Tarsis.

    * The detail in facial movements of the characters in Fort Tarsis are very natural and malleable, even catching a smirk, a roll of the eyes in sarcasm or a slight open mouth in expression, blew me away. It gives an added layer to the voice acting and movement of the characters.

    *The voice acting is phenomenal and very high standard. I was very impressed and hope to learn more about the characters.

    *The story and lore has a lot of detail to keep me busy. And I have many codex to catch up on to read, to get the in depth understanding of the new world of Anthem.

    *Fighting mechanics are very easy to use and to pick up on. I found it enjoyable getting to fly in the air and to go in the water. They improved the mechanics since the demo for the water movement mechanics. My favourite Javelins to fight with has been the Inceptor and the Storm. I find they have some really cool combo abilities to attack with.

    * I happen to like the idea of fighting with others in a random group, and getting to work together and create tactics. It hasn't been negative as I thought it might be. But I've changed my mind since playing. Plus you do get to do missions on your own which add to a extra level of challenge.

    * I'm happy with the idea of getting to set your difficulty and that with each difficulty setting you get better items.

    * Overall functionality of the game has been very smooth, despite me having a sub-par wifi connection from my end of things (My fault).

    I know some people were talking about the servers being a problem or not being able to connect through their choice of platform, but that is something I didn't experience. I don't know how to articulate it, but, I think what ever those people experienced as issues, happened to them under certain circumstances that lead to those issue for them, but not for me. It is rather a 'some but not all' scenario.

    Anyway, I want to see more from Anthem, I'm a very patient person so I am happy when they are ready to put out more content. Hopefully adding more content to the characters as time goes by to evolve alliances and the story, and more gear and weapons to choose from.

    Ein Score unter 3 ist einfach nur lächerlich.
    Das Spiel ist solide, aber es fehlt definitiv an Content (welcher aber nachgeliefert werden soll)...
    Somit für die knapp 15h Story spaßig und (im aktuellen Zustand) danach höchstens mittemäßig.

    Das Potenzial wird sich hoffentlich in den Updates entfalten ;)

    Enjoyable game. The load screens are a bit much, but are getting quicker through patches. As for the game play, it's been a lot of fun, graphics are great, hdr looks fantastic on pc. I think a lot of the negative reviews are coming from people that didn't know what type of game they were buying. A fun co OP adventure game that doesn't take itself too seriously. This game has some of those elements, but in low doses. It's the ones expecting extreme levels of looting, cut scenes and crafting that are disappointed with this game, or just hate EA. I'm okay with that. EA premier is how I'm playing this game, $80 a year for access to every one of their games. Great service.… Expand

    This is an initial impression. I'm sure I'll take some hate for it, but I really enjoyed this game. I think the people voting 0 are just jumping on a hate train.

    Gameplay is incredibly fun and flying is awesome. Battles are fun, IMO. Early impression: overall, most fun I've had playing a game since The Witcher 3.     Bugs/Problems: 9/10 - the ONLY issue I've had is sound cutting out. They know about the issue and I believe they are working on it.

    Apparently load times are a concern ... they bother me a bit, but I don't play for hours on end. Thus far, I play for one or two missions a night, so it hasn't bothered me. I think they will fix this.

    Overall I got nothing horrible to say. I have a feeling people are hopping on the hate train for this. The devs seem receptive to feedback, and the pre-release is a way for the users to get involved in the process. I think they will make a tonne of changes in the future.

    People who give it a 0 with no thought contribute to companies not caring about what we have to say. But that's just the way I would feel if I were them.

    Disclaimer: I got this for free with a video card, so maybe my expectations were lower. I did pay for early access so I could play over the long weekend.    … Expand

    The looter Shooter genre is expanding, and this is it's trident. Does it have flaws?     The game runs well, it looks good and it’s fun to play. The mission system is similar to a monster hunter in that, you setup for a mission, you collect loot during mission, and once the mission task is complete you return to the hub. Satisfaction comes from the ironman style shooter experience and the co-op nature of the game. Wildlands was an okay game as game, however it’s the co-op nature of the game that made the experience and the same goes for anthem. The bit and piece of the story of the world is released to the player through dialogue with characters in the hub world. I have just over 10 hours of play time and it gives me the experience and play game I was expecting. As well it’s fun to play.
    I haven’t noticed any bugs and the loading screen haven’t been an issue, however I have M.2 drive. And of course there are things that could have been better with the game but the game isn't as bad as the review suggest.

    What is going on with the reviews of the game? If you really think there is an issue with the game at least start at 4. A score of 0-3 would mean that the game would be unplayable. A lot of the reviews are based on the reviewer’s opinion of EA as a company or their opinion of what the game should have been (another Mass Effect). The game is not a RPG or single play story driven game. The game is a squad-based shooter about the world of anthem told through missions and quick audio.    … Expand

    Loving it so far. It's not perfect but by looking how devs responded so far with updates and bug fixes I know that this game have a lot of potential. Can't wait for the first content updates and events!

    The most fun I have had in a long while in a game, because the combat is just so much fun! Gets really good after 30 hunting masterwork/legendary weapons and items. Doesn't show it's true colors until this point, unfortunately. But even the first 30 levels I was really enjoying myself.

If you can look past some janky UI, loading screens (aren't really that bad, people have been over-exaggerating), and some bugs, you will have a great time with this game. I have dumped 40+ hours into this game. I don't really get the negativity around this game toGame is actually extremely fun. Awesome if you enjoy looter shooter games.     I really don't understand all this rage around Anthem. The game feels awesome and the combat mechanics are way better than the most games out there.

    Regarding the lack of end game content i guess that time will tell. BioWare already confirmed that more content is on the way and the possibility to form guilds will add value for the community. I have been playing consistently with 2 friends online via discord and it’s the coordinated combat where game really shines. Meshing the different suits to strength and setting up mass chain combos is a lot of fun. I don’t see that getting old anytime soon.

    For me the “hate” is un-rational and not reflective of the actual state of the game. I am not excusing bugs and connectivity issues – those should have def been sorted.

    Think about destiny 1 and 2, or the division at their launch... They were not finish at all but now they are pretty good. I think the same thing is gonna happen with Anthem, a bad launch but a great life.

    This game can improve in somethings its true, have some bugs and maybe is slow in the loading. But the game feels awesome with some changes can be a very good game. Maybe its a 8 of score or less but the people with 0, or 1 ? To much haters in this game i cant understand.

People that rate it low came here expecting a new Mass Effect when the game clearly was never advertised being a single player game, focused on story telling with strong, impactful choices. Yes, the dialogue is still there, you cant complain about speaking to a bunch of people in the fort and then say its not ME, when ME was exactly this, talk to all your companions all theA great game.     The game runs great on my i7 7700HQ and 1070, the long loading screens do no take more than 15seconds on an ssd and the game is fun as hell. Its a looter shooter, if you expect a single player, story focused game, this is not the game for you.

    I Really don't understand all the hate, I am just got to the "End Game" (Master Work Javelin 488) and am at the point where it is just starting to get a little stale, and only a little. But I am over 60 hours in at this point. I believe a lot of people get spoiled by totally blown away by a game ( ya I am talking about you red dead...     I have been playing Anthem from day 1 of early access i have around 30+ hours in the game and i have my main colossus javelin at 450ish.

    Visuals- The visuals are fantastic you can see where a lot of the development time went. The world that you can fly around in beautiful, models are crisp and i have seen very few graphical glitches in my 30+hours played. Due to the way the frostbite    I have been playing Anthem from day 1 of early access i have around 30+ hours in the game and i have my main colossus javelin at 450ish.

Due to the way the frostbite engine works the load times on early access were longer than they should have been, but the Bioware devs (who have been all over the forums) have dealt with this by shortening all load times by about 30-40% within only a few days.

    Content- Content is one of the few things that may be a little bit lacking on launch. I am still enjoying playing as the combat is just too much fun. But i will say you have to look forward with this game as far as i am aware they have at least a year road map of content to be pumping out. Some of which is coming in march and most people seem to ignore this and slating the game after pumping 30 hours into the game already. Also to note that the future content for this game is free and they have stated that there will be no DLC only cosmetic skins.

    Gameplay- The game play is main deciding factors in the any game for me and what i focus on. The gameplay is fantastic. If any of you have played Mass effect 3 multiplayer you will love this game. They have taken the base concepts in ME3 Multiplayer and perfected it. The combo system, the wide variety of skills and the good amount of loadout customization (Way more than destiny ever had). I have seem a lot of people dislike the gunplay in the game, and yes if you are used to destiny where gunplay is 95% of the game then sure. In my experience so far the guns are filler for the skills, combos and ultimates gameplay. I seem to only use my guns in the short time my skills are on cooldown or i am low health and need to stand back (Granted i am playing colossus and other classes may differ). There are a few infinite loading bugs and time where you can get stuck in missions which i have come across a few times. Also the sound bug where your sound just disappears until you restart. I am hopeful that Bioware are on top of these and will be fixed soon though.

    Story- The story is pretty good, i mean its no Mass effect or dragon age but for a multiplayer shooter its fantastic. The voice acting is top notch, the characters are very memorable and had me looking up the voice actors for a lot of them as i kept recognizing people. There is something really charming about running around Fort Tarsis and seeing how these "Mini Bioware side storys" play out. i would also highly recommend exhausting all dialog options as you go through the story.

    Summary- Personally i am still enjoying the game playing mostly on GM1 difficulty and enjoying the gameplay. I can understand if the game as it stands now is not worth the full price of a AAA game but i will say that you can just get Origin premium for £15 and have a full month to play a high tier game.If the game has not impressed you now then maybe look back in a year or so and see what they have added because if you are not happy now i am pretty confident that you will be in later down the line.

    Coming from games like The Division and Destiny, I can say with a level of confidence that this game is in a much better spot to be a knock out. The mechanics are refreshing, with the added mobility of flight that can make the difference between walking away a champion, or lying in a pool of your own blood. And there is always that moment of suspense when you hear a slight ding, letting you know you just got loot, and your dying to see what it is. The world as well, utterly amazing, You could easily just fly (Yes fly) around and find new things for hours, I would know as I have almost 50 hours at this point invested into the game, although I would say 2-3 hours of that is purely in customization. The color options and options available are amazing, and the premium items are so easily earned through in game grinding that you will never have to spend a cent more unless you cannot be bothered spending 2-3 hours grinding out the coin.

    The story is a little generic right now, and the contracts can seem a bit repetitive, and after a little bit you may want a break, and the load screens can be....painful at times (If you are on PC load it onto an SSD, will cut the load time down substantially)

    If you want a game that is like hey day Destiny, or the Division, then this is not for you. If your after a game that looks to be in a much better starting spot then the two, with a greater possibility to expand due to how the lore and world is set up, then this will be by far the best option out there, just dont go in expecting to find the diamond without allowing some polishing to happen first.    … Expand

    This game does NOT deserve the 3.8 user score it has as of writing this review. Now I'll tell you why. For starters, this game is the first live service that a development team has created who was previously only focused on single player games; bugs, minor issues, and glitches will be present. For starters, this game is the first live service that a development team has created who was previously only focused on single player games; bugs, minor issues, and glitches will be present. That, however, is the nature of multiplayer, live service games, is it not? Ask Destiny or any MMO. You rarely START with a polished product. It takes months of LIVE TESTING to get things working right, sometimes longer.

    It should also be noted that it is a "looter-shooter" game. Looter-shooters are NOT for everyone. They are prone, by function, to monotony, repetitiveness, and, yes, grind. If these are things that bore you, if the nature of the game play itself does not hold your interest, it will not be for you! I HATE Dark Souls - the overwhelming learning curve and stiff-feeling controls make it a horrible experience for me - but that does not mean I think it's a horrible game; on the contrary, I see where some people find it appealing. So why would someone give this game a poor rating if their biggest problem was "I hate the grind"? The answer lies in two letters: EA.

    There is this culture going around the internet lately that involves hating a developer because of the crap their publisher pulls. The amount of hate that EA has garnered lately makes people put an EA labelled blanket over everything they release so that they don't have to look at the actual product and only have to see that "oh, EA made it...must be garbage". Small problems are compounded into HUGE problems to justify this hatred and suddenly these people have reason to feel sick to their stomach at the mere mention of the publisher. It doesn't matter how good they did, it only matters that the sins the publisher has committed in the past are unforgivable in the present.

    Take Origin for example. The Origin Access service is subjectively one of the best deals in PC gaming - $50 per year for a really good (and ever growing) library of fun games. Games that got excellent scores on this website. Yet, because the service is one provided by a company owned by EA, the term "Origin Access" has become taboo in the gaming culture. "What? You have Origin Access? How could you? That's horrible!" You're treated like a leper for mentioning you have it. Why? Because it's cool to hate EA.

    If people remembered that Anthem is a game that might not be for them, if they look past the fact that it's labeled with the two most dreaded letters in gaming, if they forgive it it's flaws for being a live service game, then maybe they could see the gold beneath all that mud. Maybe people would notice that the developer chose not to monetize anything but cosmetics and are actually listening to the complaints of the player base and TRYING TO FIX IT. Maybe people will see that the game is actually fun to play if you're "into that kinda thing". Maybe.

    Or, you know...the scores could chase away future players and we could lose an actual fun game to the annuls of time. It should be noted that I actually thing this game deserves a 7 out of 10. It's fun, but not "YOU MUST PLAY THIS GAME BEFORE YOU DIE" fun, as a 10 out of 10 would suggest. But the OVERWHELMING number of crap reviews must be balanced to bring this game to it's actual deserved score...and my 10 will help in that endeavor...if only a little.    … Expand

    Played about about 10 hours so far, I haven't had any technical issues, and loading screens don't seem long like many suggest (Possibly because I use SSD?) I really enjoy this game, don't see where the hate is coming from.

    Between the demo and early access I have put in over 50 hours into the game and never got tired of the combat. Flying is fun and intuitive, the classes feel unique and independently powerful, and the open world is gorgeous.

    While the game is not perfect (my biggest gripe are the long loading screens) Bioware has already shown their ability to fix issues quickly with the changes made from the super buggy demo to the full game release. I would also like to mention that during my time in early access and after playing for hours at full release last night, I encountered zero server issues, disconnects, etc. which is quite rare these days.

    This is not a game that is a full package right at launch. It is an evolving world that will be continually changing as it moves forward. Unlike other games in the genre, the new content isn't hidden behind paywall DLCs and other monetizing tactics. Usually I would be nervous about this approach but i'm willing to give Bioware a chance because of their transparency and how well they have already communicated these upcoming plans.

    It is also worth mentioning that this game doesn't use any disgusting money-grabbing tactics like so many other recent EA games. No loot boxes. No pay-to-win. Only cosmetics that you can buy with real money or money earned in game. The in-game currency is also generous enough that I was able to purchase a full armor set before I was level 15.

    Yes the game has some bugs, this is a new IP with no base to work from so they are learning as they go, before the game even launched we had 2 patches to try and resolve stuff and a lot of things got fixed for "most" people.     My opinion on the game is if you have even one other person to play it with, it's a fun game to play. I've been playing it and so far about 15hrs in, still not bored, enjoying the different play styles of each Javelin, enjoying the missions DESPITE (read, I am acknowledging this) the missions been quite samey (Kill all the enemies, hold a spot for a timer to fill, and general grab item A and take it to B) it is still fun with friends (maybe the issue is people who are low balling the game score don't have friends?)

    Graphically the game is nice, not much stuttering making the game play smooth (I have a 7700k and a 1080 w/ 16GB ram) the loading screen issue has resolved itself for me (I do have the game on a SSD though also).

    Each Javelin is different enough to be fun to unlock, and the customisation makes them enjoyable to match how you want to play.

    All in all I would probably give it 7/10 in it's current state, however due to the unfair down votes I have ramped my score up a little.    … Expand

    Anthem is beautiful and great fun. Playing with friends is a joy. Random matchmaking can be a pain with no way to communicate with your team mates except for specific sections - which is being addressed in the April update.
    Overall the gameplay is a blast.

    Most of the negative reviews come from the ever popular EA bashing. I am not a fan of EA but a fun game is a fun game.

Gameplay is super fun, graphics are amazing, story is great, this game does not deserve any score less than 8/10. Outrage culture gone too far these days.

    What I was not prepared for, though, was an incredibly fun experience with polished looking visuals, excellent diversity between classes (javelins) and dialogue animations that were better than anything i've seen in a game to date. The facial expressions on Owen, especially, are flawless and really give him such a life as I never could have imagined.

    The game feels very much like a twist of Destiny, Mass Effect, and Warframe, but it does it very well. I will go so far as to say, it's the game that Destiny should have been. The synergy between teammates abilities, and the gun-play, are so well executed, and the flight mechanics feel so smooth.

    The Day One patch also turned this game around. Prior to all the fixes that they made, my score was much lower. But after having experienced both pre and post update, I can honestly say that I have a tremendous amount of faith in the continued development and support that this game will receive, and I'm looking forward to limitless hours playing.    … Expand

There's no faster-than-light travel without time dilation, there are no humanlike aliens that just happen to speak English and are not vastly technologically superior to humanity, and there's little-to-no arbitrary space magic.

    In Anthem, humanity has spread through the galaxy and, on at least one colony world, has come across the remains of a vanished, godlike Elder Race. The ruins and relics of these Godlike Engineering projects are capable of causing all sorts of world-shaking catastrophes and events, and are hotly contested by different human factions, and a race of aggressively hostile insects that link together to form humanlike bodies. Your mission is to protect the free human outpost from the harmful effects of the ruins and relics, assist your faction's discovery and R&D efforts, and prevent particularly powerful relics from getting into the wrong hands. It's simple, it's straightforward, it doesn't insult my intelligence too grievously, and it works well overall. (That the insects and vanished Gods are really VERY alien is a nice touch.)

    Interestingly, the humans of Anthem appear far more technologically developed and sophisticated than the humans of Mass Effect, which leads me to believe that we're some thousands of years in the future. And, also, it is quite clear that the fragments of the Elder Race have accelerated human development -- which also seems to be the case for the bugs!

    The setting's art, like its background story, is solid. The art direction is not as inspired as it was in Mass Effect 1, and it's not as varied as many other games are, but it's polished to a high gloss, it looks damn good, and there are flashes of brilliance.

    (The visual focus here is "Modern Sci Fi" -- whereas the original Mass Effect was "1970s retro-futurism." For this reason, Anthem might seem less original -- as though you've seen it all before. You have. But, nevertheless, it's really well done, at least in my own estimation.)

    And the music is quite good, too. Not as good as Mass Effect, on the whole, but a couple of the tracks -- "Ancient Mysteries" and "Outlaw Ambush" -- have a unique sound that fits the setting perfectly.

    So, from an overall aesthetic point of view, I think that the game does extremely well.

    The game's mechanics are fun. Bioware have nailed the jetpacks; the four combat suits all feel very different; the gunplay is not bad. If you're familiar with Mass Effect Andromeda, you'll be familiar with the gunplay here -- but it's much better in Anthem. The sniper rifles, in particular, are infinitely better in Anthem than they were in Andromeda.

    And then there are the combat powers... Suffice it to say that the Storm exosuit is particularly fun to play. The elemental powers make you feel godlike -- quite literally like a Greek God -- and it offers a unique experience that I've never encountered anywhere else.

    So I think that there's a really solid foundation here. And the game runs very well on my two-year-old laptop with a GTX 1060.

    But there are many issues and annoyances:

    - Loading screens everywhere. So much ink has been spilled on this point that there's no need to write about it further.

    - The fact that playing with other people, in missions or freeplay, is a horrible experience. I wish that I could either (a) play with AI bots, or (b) just play solo without being penalized for it. Instead, I played all of the missions in Single Player mode, which made the game far harder, I got fewer equipment drops, and I earned less experience.

    Simply put, Bioware should make single player less painful. As things stand, it really is a sort of punishment... but STILL better than playing with other people. Online co-op is an even greater punishment.

    - Mission design is laughably bad. It's almost too repetitive to be believed.

    - The user interface is nearly as bad as the mission design.

    - Equipment drops and inventory management don't really make sense. You can't figure out what items you've just picked up -- let alone equip them -- until you're back in your base and the mission is finished.

    - The crafting system is totally opaque, to say the least.

    - The entire notion that you need to play in a team doesn't mesh with the story or lore of the game! In fact, the campaign ONLY makes sense if you play in Single Player mode! This was a major annoyance.

    - The sound design in general is sub-par.

    That's it.

    Ultimately, I believe that most of these annoyances can be fixed, and that the game's foundation is a very solid one. But it could have been released in a much better state, and some of the interface and mission design choices really make you wonder what the game's QA testers were doing.    … Expand

    The game does the important parts well, and with how masterworks and legendaries change up the gameplay it feels closer to a Diablo game than Destiny, Division or Warframe (games, I'd like to point out, which all were deeply flawed experiences on launch.)

    I will say this, I don't think you should buy this game yet - definitely try it on Origin access if you're curious - but don't write the game off yet, there's still a lot of potential here, and being a looter shooter the two things the game does well are loot and shooting, so it's not as bad as the bandwagon hoppers will have you believe. I'll throw in a list of my personal pros and cons to close this off!

    The pros:
    - The expedition gameplay is fun (Fort Tarsis is trash)

    - Masterwork and Legendary loot feel special to get (I'm a Destiny fanboy but less than 10% of the exotics in that franchise feel better than a bog standard legendary, some even feel worse)

    - The world is a lot more interesting than you first give it credit for, it's easy to dismiss it as a generic rocky landscape but keep an eye on your cortex.

    - Many of the characters, even the more irritating ones actually have personality. (None of that relying on Cayde-6 to be your only three dimensional character)

    - Voice acting is a cut above all other games in this genre... Mostly ¬_¬

    - The boss fights, while bullet spongey, actually have mechanics and feel like actual bosses.

    - The game in the grandmaster difficulties is challenging, but not obnoxiously so.

    Cons:
    - It is incredibly buggy, even after the day 1 patch.

    - No in-game text chat (and the voice chat isn't particularly good.)

    - Titans are some of the least fun creatures to fight in video games, ever. Bioware decided that tedium and challenge are one and the same.

    - The expedition selection UI is horrendously archaic, and clunky.

    - Until you get to endgame and start getting masterworks, guns are kinda trash (DISCLAIMER: THIS DOES CHANGE WITH MASTERWORKS, GUNS AREN'T PERMANENTLY TRASH)

    - Fort Tarsis is so sluggish and bland, it feels like it belongs in a different game, coming out of missions into that is quite jarring.    … Expand

    Something feels different immediately, some of the combat wonkyness and jitters are gone. My colossus (because Thiccboy is life) feels... more... Colossal..

    I can shield and pick up my downed teamies...

    the melee jitters that I felt before are gone, its so much smoother.

    THE LOADING... THE LOADING IS BETTER.. SO MUCH BETTER OH GODS THE LOADING! 15-20 seconds from end expedition into the forge. Forge loads almost instantly! Fort Tarsis loads 15 seconds now? maybe?

    I mean.. wow...

    If you can do this in 4 days... then people NEED to give you props that you rightfully deserve.

    I believe in you, the game isnt perfect, but the issues you fixed this fast shows what youre capable of and I believe youll fix the other stuff straightaway.

    There's planned and already developed content and they are listening to the customer base to make quality of life improvements. 15-30 hrs of content will likely become 40-50 as new stuff is released.

    This mindset of having to have a fully fleshed out game on release is archaic and problematic for games like this. If the game is fun and playable, why not start playing while it develops even further?

    The largest crowd funded game (Star Citizen) has raised hundreds of millions and doesn't have a released product yet. Its BETA is playable, and I've happily committed $ there too, but I have happily paid for the game knowing what the game COULD become with my support.
    Athena isn't any different. It's a game that they want to grow and continue to evolve. Invest now and support it's development. Enjoy a fun game that's just going to get better.

    All these haters just want to be seen as important nay sayers and are simply restating what each other say... there's no creativity or imagination to their complaints. They're dry and repetitive. Now if only they can evolve with the times. Fully developed games were important to have fleshed out using old technologies like floppy drives.

    Most of the best games of our day continued to evolve. World of Warcraft, Destiny, Borderlands... the attention the game was given post release in each of those cases was far more important than the initial release.
    I'm all but hoping this game has the opportunity to become what it should become before the haters just looking spread salt have their way.

    Sure, this is a game for those that like a loot grind/chase, and if striving for a better spec item is not your thing, this will be repetitive... But this game is not a 0-4 score... I'm pretty sure people giving it a 0 have not even purchased and simply like to hate on EA.

    This game is so much more enjoyable than I have expected. After about 43 hour (mostly played as single player game) I'm still excited to start my PC to play this game.     I have only played one of the classes yet (colossus) what is a tanky type "frame" and I am not interested the rest yet because Its so much fun. Rushing through dozens of enemies killing them with bare physics running over them and knocking them down like a real tank than launch a huge fire combo on them is a blast.

    There is six difficulty level easy,normal,hard, than you can unlock other three at lvl30 master I,II,III.
    I don't like easy games but I have to play it on normal because it was already enough a chalange I just imagine how hard it Will be to play the master levels.

    Flying around feels very good and World looks absolutely beautiful and very detailed the sci-fi vibe is strong. The artist who worked on the World did a pretty good job I think. Birds flying around you
    and other wildlife roaming on the ground while the trees and flowers bend by the forces of the strorm or breeze while you flying through canyons and ruins of the ancient civilization.

    Although its not a real old style bioware single player game I found the story and the lore interesting and there are also a lot of conversation with a few choice to direct the outcome of the story of some of the character at your home town (its the single player hub of the game) and this time they it feels they really put a lot of time in these to make its quality as good as possible so it can't be criticized as much Andromeda. The town also changing through your gameplay in an "immersive way".

    The performance is great with my GTX980 4GB and Ryzen 2600x 16GB. I put everything ultra except textures High and lighting High but with HBAO+ Full. and its rarely drops below 50. It mostly feels a stable 60-70fps and I think thats pretty good from this hardware.

    I can understad some of the low scores here but I have seen a lot of non deserved negative critic also. Like the lowest score "professional reviewer" mentioned there are not enough cosmetic option and most locked behind a paywall. I thought ... What??? After about 15hour gameplay I had enough currency to unlock the ecic skin set and about four rare set but I did not because I found the color customusation more than enough for now. There are at least 7 layer and about 30 different textures and colors to customize these layers there are vinyls etc. the general customoization is actually pretty good and you can unlock new ones every day by buying it from ingame currency from the ingame store (rare color 3k, epic vinyl 20k) I have about 130k credit after43 hour but you can earn about 1-3k credit or more within an hour after 20lvl+. Btw why worry about Cosmetics and that its not easy to unlock when the combat is the fun part? Or maybe not. I guess you eaither like the gameplay and its challenges enough or not thats all.

    Also I have seen the complaint of repetitiveness. sure after about 40-50 hour when you have almost seen everything and finish the main story you can start to feel the repetitiveness but it was ever the same with many looting shooting game. Warframe for example ... I have played that game for about 1000 hour its combat and areas much more repetitive than Anthem still hundreds of thousands play it and enjoy it. Yes its "free" go figure. :D What about games like Diablo with its 3-4 act same repetitiveness . Millions loved it..... Why? Because its gameplay. Repetitiveness is not an issue unless the gamplay is fun and with Anthem I think its there and it Will be even better with its expansive World and new challenges and things to unlock in the future what is planned.

    Don't belive the hate and the low scores just by a "Premium Access" and try it out yoursefl like I did. Even If I would stop playing it now I got more than enough from my 15 bucks what I could get with any new game out there. 43hour fun for 15 is not a bad deal I think.     For me, nothing really wrong with the game functionality or it's quality as an overall thing. No game is perfect, yes there have been minute graphical glitches, but I wouldn't call them major issues.
    It overall worked just fine for me. My gaming specs and internet connection are within the right requirements to play the game. Just because the game may not work for you doesn't mean it's a bad game or that it doesn't work, because it has worked just fine for others.

    As a word of advise always check that your platform and connections are updated and within the required specs to play.

    Graphics look great with a lot of attention to detail in the environment and attention to detail with each character, with fluid and natural movements. The game play mechanics is fun and easy to navigate when playing, taking on some of the game play mechanics of MEA, which has been effective to use when engaging with fight tactic and creating strategies for attacks and combos. The story it self is inspired and engaging with a lot of mysteries in the lore that I want to unlock.

    Anthem isn't some half baked product that was put out. There was effort put into making the game and the developers have been transparent about any issues that people had.

    If anything Anthem deserves a 10/10. The game is more polished than MEA in regards to it's production and final product and many major issues have already been addressed and fixed.    … Expand

    Is it all good? No. The loading scenes are still too numerous and too long. There are still bugs, although personally I've experienced only one, and audio bug that caused sound to drop in game, it was resolved by a restart, but not ideal.
    It's a new game, it has ambitions. It's fun to play and the the visuals and sounds are outstanding. Is it the best game ever made? No. And tbh that would be too subjective to quantify in any meaningful way. But I'm finding it great fun to play and that is, above all, what I look for in a game.    … Expand

    It's not a bad game but you need a high end GPU and an SSD. It may have been a bit over hyped but all in all I'd say it was a good game. It needs much more content to it's name. It's literally enduring the same type of disaster ME:A incurred. I hope they go back to enhancing Mass Effect Andromeda because it is hands down a better game and it had far more content than Anthem.

    Magnificent, beautiful and huge world! Set of secrets! Dangerous opponents! Very not simple fights which are not simple to be undergone a command and it is already alone even more difficult. I was captured by this game! The only serious shortcoming is an optimization. Still it is necessary to work on it.

    Anthem is a game that I have been waiting for a long time. I don't mean Anthem specifically, but rather I have been waiting for the kind of game that Anthem is at it's core. A loot shooter with engaging, addictive combat and absurdly powerful loot that comes at the price of countless hours spent.

    The world is breathtaking. Even while playing on my rig that is nearly a decade old and the graphics turned as low as they go, the vistas and scenery found while flying around the open world are some of the most awe inspiring views I have ever witnessed in a game.

    The combat is the perfect blend of exhilarating, challenging, and rewarding. Rather you are zipping around slaughtering monsters you over gear or going up against foes you have no business attempting while clinging to cover praying you don't get flanked, I always find myself craving more after the last mob falls.

    The abilities, guns, and javelins are surprisingly diverse in meaningful ways for a game at launch. Want to focus on freezing enemies and setting your team up for devastating combos? Check. Want to weaken the enemies resistances and cause your whole team to do massive damage? Check. Want to sit back and snipe enemies with a variety of snipers, marksmen rifles or heavy pistols or maybe you fancy getting up close and personal with hard hitting shotguns. Don't worry, all that and so much more is all here.

    My most ambitious hopes never expected the loot and grind to be so close to my ideal set up. With a, perhaps, too wide array of stats and rolls that range from nearly useless to OMG I'm a god now and a drop rate that I wouldn't budge an inch, you can be guaranteed to spend countless hours taking your freelancer from a barely capable newbie to a being of pure destruction.

    Now, of course it's not all sunshine and rainbows. You move to slow in the hub world. The story is engaging, but nothing exceptional. Load times are excessively long if you are not playing on an SSD. Certain loot affixes are unclear. There is no detailed menu to let you know what your stat values are. There are bugs, varying from minor graphical, to audio canceling, to mission breaking, although, in my experience, they are not overwhelmingly common. Perhaps the worst problem is not getting loot drops when an enemy, even a boss, is killed while you are downed. While none of these problems ruin the game, all of them together are noticable.

    (TL;DR) Bioware has a game here that is exhilarating, addictive, and has more potential for the loot grind audience than maybe any game has ever had. There are problems, yes, but even its current state, the game is easily one of, maybe the, best loot shooters I have ever played. I cannot wait to see what the future of Anthem holds.    … Expand

    Unfortunately what may well become a great game, is being hammered by people who hate the publisher (Electronic Arts), while ignoring the fact the game developer (BioWare) has launched an original, fun and high quality product. Since the demo, early access and worldwide launch, BioWare have been exceptionally responsive and have demonstrated that that they are both aware of emergent problems on a technical and gameplay level, and are also committed to solving them in the shortest possible time with an eye on a bright future. The road map for the first few months looks very encouraging and they have plans for over a decade of updates.

    All AAA games have bugs and patches galore on release - without exception - and so with Anthem.

    In summary, Anthem had a great foundation on which to build a strong and enduring story franchise - it is fun and interesting, with endearing characters and a fantastic visual look that is miles ahead of anything else I've played. I am enjoying it immensely.

    I can't get enough of this game. It has the usual hiccups for a major new AAA IP and the devs are quick to fix issues. Between the community and the game play there is no reason why anyone that has played this game should give it a negative rating.

    The game is an amazing looter shooter with awesome and fluid gameplay. It's a live service, so a lot of content will be added later on - for free. Sadly it's cool to hate-bomb games today, so don't believe anyone - try the game yourself!!

    Great game so far, they fixed most of the issues from the open beta. Storyline is good so far, flying and combat is great. Ignore all these 0 reviews, its just anti EA fanboys that probably havent even played the game yet

I have read a lot of negatove reviews on this site and some of them as i had thought are just people who hate EA and want the game to fail. Welp, i can give a crap less. As I am aware that he is a Lootshoter, I have no reason to say bad of the game, he seems to me with everything a game of the genre can offer. And I believe that even though the game has to launch smoothly or it is the developers' obligation to postpone the release.     The gameplay is solid with outstanding animation skill thanks to the excellent people that work on the studio. if you don't like loot, or grind, this game is not for you. If you do, then this game will evolve just like warframe and destiny, it takes time, and for now it's just the first chapter of a big book that will become an amazing adventure! I have to admit that I have the game on SSD. If you want faster loading times lower texture quality. I absolutely love that in 25h of play time I have 350k coins and one skin is about 61k. You don't have to spend a dime on MTS. I actually went and spent about 10£ and I have nothing to spend it on. One also have to love the fact that some skins are only for coins and coins can't be exchanged for premium currency.

    It is definitely more fun and engaging than Destiny. And definitely better than The Division. So I really don't get where its the hate comes from.    … Expand

    Blows away expectations. I've never had more fun PLAYING a game. The gameplay is outstanding. Is there flaws? Of course. BioWare has been the quickest, most responsive developer of any modern day looter/shooter/GaaS, and I look forward to the longevity of this amazing title.

    The most fun looter shooter out there. Give this game a go. I guarantee you it will surprise you if you can get past the nay sayers hating on EA and giving 0 ratings which is impossible.

    Anthem is a great game with huge potential. Even it has its bugs sometimes, which I believe they will fix soon its enjoyable and I just do love it.

    Now I have seen this happen sadly with a lot of games, some pulled through (been playing for honor from day 1 and it pulled through) and some didn't (I'm looking at you battleborn and wildstar) truth be told. I'm having a blast with this one, yes it has it bugs but i hope that people can see past that, it's just FUN pure fun, i find myself at 2    Let me start off by saying this game is fun,

    I dont care who the publisher is i care about how i spent my time. This one looks really promising though it has flaws like sadly allmost every game (exept Apex Legends) perhaps has at start. Its download times are big - but the story for me is interesting and the gameplay it self is huge +. Looking more from the updates too but still really a game worth to play and try.

    For 2019... the game has a lot of loading screens. I just hate it. Many additional tasks of the similar type (this is not surprising for games tied with the grind). NPS in the city do not speak, but simply gesticulate. It spoils the whole atmosphere of the game. I would like to know the history of the world from the dialogues, rather than reading game notes. I believe that the function of moving the player to the mission zone is superfluous(this function should be done in the game menu, in case there is an error and the movement is really required).
    In general, I experienced a positive gaming experience. Especially if you compare this game with competitors (but the price of the game is too high). Accurate score for the game 7 points. But I put 8 in the hope of further development of the game.    … Expand

Большую часть косяков и багов исправили и теперь игра доставляет еще больше удовольствия чем в демке, а та мне тоже невероятно понравилась. Joguei por 30 minutos e o que posso dizer é que a estabilidade com servidores e o fato do jogo só funcionar completamente online é um ponto muito negativo...     Have been captivated by Anthem since the first login, the game runs smooth and looks awesome. have had no issues so dont see what all the negative feed back is about just see EA haters. Bioware has a real winner here BIG THUMBS UP!

    P.S. For those with load time issues you should invest in two things, A good SSD and faster internet. 90% of your issue lies there...

    If you want to see Anthem’s lush jungle and glistening Javelins, do it right away — this game is losing audience fast, and there’s almost nothing to do after the campaign ends. Or check it out on YouTube to save yourself some nerves and money.

    It's obvious that Anthem didn't have enough development time, but had some great potential. It's a real shame, that everything turned out this way. Even now, the game can bring out positive emotions. Hasty climbers have sudden falls. No matter how ironic this proverb may seem, it's incredibly relevant for Anthem.
