They've added prestige points so the Elyos/Asmo ratio would be more balanced since it made more people participate in sieges. The one thing I don't particularly like so much is that they removed a good 60% of the campaign quests out of the game so it's a bit harder to lvl than 4.0, but don't worry, it's not anywhere near the grindfest it used to be. The Aethertech class is a lot of fun, and it's not game-breaking (remember the gunners?).
All in all, I do recommend trying this game if it's your style.

There's no MMO on the market which can provide the same level of enjoyment regarding PvP as this game, that's why so many people sticking around the game and still playing it , even though this version is only available on private servers now. No global cooldowns, you need to know A LOT of tricks to master the game, and there are a few 1v3 or more moments which makes PvP epic in this game.

Downside is the class balance. The game has 1-2 broken role always, which is spiritmaster and gunner in this patch, both of them are nerfed later. Other negative I can bring up is the huge RNG factor in PvP, like godstones and random knockdowns. It can ruin the enjoyment factor. PvE is very boring and outdated compared to other MMOs on market. Final aspect don't like is the cryengine 1, which they cannot change. It limits CPU usage for only one core, making FPS levels poor for most of the players, especially on sieges.
