    As always, AI War brings with it great concepts, great strategy, and enemy AI that is terrifying and spectacular to fight against. With theAs always, AI War brings with it great concepts, great strategy, and enemy AI that is terrifying and spectacular to fight against. With the expansion Ancient Shadows, aside from the usual additions (new ship types, enemies, map styles, etc) the biggest draw is the Champions feature. Instead of controlling an army, a player can opt to play as a single powerful super-unit that can gain experience, level up, and choose RPG style improvements from a wide selection of traits. They have a regular auto-attack and 4 active abilities, so very similar to player characters in games like LoL or Dota. This makes it very easy for new people to help contribute to their friends' AI War campaigns even if they don't like big RTS games like this one.
