Age of Darkness delivers an engaging campaign and a solid survival mode at its core. You’ll build, send units to their doom, and relish every horde that crashes against your carefully constructed defenses. While the game doesn’t go easy on you, it always makes it clear why you failed—ensuring that each battle against the forces of darkness leaves you stronger and wiser.

There’s a great ‘town defense’ RTS at the center of Age of Darkness, but the lack of polish even after its 1.0 launch is disappointing and the campaign lacks punch.

An interesting survival RTS with great and massive battles, but also a bit repetitive.

The game is currently still noticeably lacking in content, this Early Access release is more reminiscent of a larger demo.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand is an instant favorite of mine, cleverly improving and expanding upon tried-and-true RTS mechanics, adding co-op multiplayer, and delivering it all in an awesome dark fantasy RPG package. Grab a friend and face the darkness in what could very well be the best RTS game on the market. [Early Access Score = 100]

The game is very similar to They Are Billions, but includes a powerful hero you control to defend your city. It can be extremely addicting at first but as I'm writing this in early access, there is only a single mode and hero to choose from which quickly becomes repetitive. Overall a fun game that will likely improve with more content. Full Review »
