You can use up to 3 abilities in each of the 64 levels to try to achieve the fastest times and compare them with other players' time on the online leaderboards. On top of that, the game has a level importer which you can use to import your own creations into the game and upload them onto the Steam Workshop. Overall it's just a banger game which I guarantee will hook you more than you expect. Expand

I really hope, that I can get one of these S Ranks one day, but watching others get those Times is still very satisfying! Especially when you download and watch the ghost of a world record highscore from the scoreboard
I still don't fully understand the story, but I can say: I like the way, that I'm confused! It sometimes feels like walking through a weird kind of Art Gallery with a lot of beautiful impressions and sounds around me.
Some parts of the soundtrack are stressful, which really fits the hard levels, and some parts are oddly relaxed, when you just vibe your way to the end without any pressure!

    How I became a Speedrunner

When I first saw this game, I thought it would be too hard for someone like me. But the game mechanics are very intuitive and you can actually play the game quite easily, if you know platformers in general. It comes with a lot of beautiful artworks and an outstanding soundtrack, which I enjoyed a lot, but I think those things are not even the best parts about Afterthought.

What makes this game special is the unique gameplay. If you want to dive deep into the mechanics, you can basically invest infinite time into the game and pull off the craziest stunts! God, it just feels so rewarding when you finally get that S time. You can even beat the developer ghosts, if you want to embarrass them. And there are a lot of bonus objectives and Skins for all the completionists out there. Although it does not seem like it, almost everything in the game is quite achieveable even for Normies like me. Except for the online highscores...

Personally the most interesting part about the highscore system is, that you can filter the scores by categories. Although I am pretty sure, that I will never get one of those world records for any level (those runs are just insane), I was still able to get records in categories like "Only Dash" or "No Skills".

I think what this game really taught me was how to Speedrun. It even turned me into some kind of Speedrunner at some point, which I think is a pretty cool experience.
