Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload on Switch 2 revives one of Atlus’ most beloved RPGs, pairing its poignant story and overhauled mechanics with the optional convenience of handheld play. Unfortunately, uneven frame pacing and leisurely load times impair this otherwise soulful remake.

Oct 24, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a visually impressive remake that honours the original in many ways and enhances it in presentation. The graphics and animation are among the best the series has delivered so far, giving new life to a classic. However, if you’re someone who values brisk pacing, rapid story progression, or immediate action, you may find yourself frustrated with how slowly things progress early on. The payoff was worth it for me as an enjoyer of the series and the genre, and I had a great time playing Persona 3 for the first time. I definitely recommend it to fans of Persona 5 who may not have played earlier entries in the series.

Oct 24, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a great remake, with improved graphics and cutscenes, new gameplay mechanics and fantastic sound. It is disappointing that the game runs only at 30fps on Switch 2, and that there is a quite a bit of stuttering at certain points. However, none of these issues are game breaking, and overall, Persona 3 Reload retells a great story on a modern console. It is definitely worth picking up and playing.

Oct 23, 2025I really wish that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Persona 3 Reload didn’t have the technical problems it does. Without them, this would be a slam-dunk recommendation for any and all RPG fans. With them, I have to load that endorsement with a number of conditions. If you’re planning to play mainly in handheld mode and are even lightly sensitive to frame pacing or stuttering, you might want to hold off for a performance update. Those looking to play in docked mode will have a more tolerable time of it. Persona 3 Reload is an excellent RPG, but you might want to play it elsewhere if you have the option.

Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2 with a visually optimized—but technically limited—edition. This revisit of the acclaimed 2024 JRPG successfully adapts its interfaces and resolutions for both handheld and docked modes, offering a polished visual experience overall. However, it struggles to maintain consistent performance during exploration and combat sequences. As expected for a port arriving nearly two years after its original release, this version does not include any of the previously released DLC.

Nov 4, 2025I will very freely tell you how much this port is not as fantastic as this game is, the decision to release this port as soon as possible could potentially hurt what is otherwise a fantastic JRPG game and unless the Switch 2 is your only console of choice, I'd play this game elsewhere or wait for future updates.

Oct 29, 2025While I’m definitely looking forward to updates to the Switch 2 port of Reload, but it’s rather rough on the technical side right now. I would summarize it as a great game that looks great, sounds great, and plays great, but is unfortunately a victim of poor performance.

Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload for Switch 2 should've been the easiest win for Atlus, but it is lacking in some key areas. If you've not played it before and mostly play docked on Switch 2, it is a good but conservative port, and P3R remains worth your time. The real issue is how Persona 3 Reload for Switch 2 doesn't feel great to play at all right now on the go, the real draw of this new port. Had Atlus included all DLC, it would've been a good excuse to replay the game with different costume and music options, or even made it so those who played the base game last year could experience Episode Aigis on the go.

Oct 28, 2025If you can only play it on Switch 2, don't miss out because it's a must-have, but if not, the experience on other platforms is visually better.
