Nov 18, 2025Persona 3 Reload is one of Atlus’ best RPGs and is definitely worth playing. The Switch 2 version has huge appeal for people who haven’t played it yet, as well as for those who want to replay it while lying comfortably in bed in handheld mode.
-
Jan 11, 2026With the Switch 2 port, fans can finally experience Persona 3 Reload the way it was meant to be played — under the sheets during the Dark Hour, jabbing away at your screen and blearily wiping your eyes as you save the world with the power of friendship.
-
Nov 10, 2025Persona 3 Reload on Switch 2 is functionally the same game found everywhere else, and though the remaster of Persona 3 Portable is playable on the system, this is a more refined way of experiencing one of the most memorable stories in gaming and a seminal title for the RPG genre. The inconsistent frame rate will be unnoticeable to some and inexcusable to others, but the added perk of portability may be enough to make up for its graphical shortcomings. Moreover, it wouldn’t be right for a game that aims for excellence to be shot down for the few targets it missed, just as how a life of many highs shouldn’t be defined by the times it stumbled and struggled. Persona 3 Reload is a beautiful game, and it being on the Switch 2, imperfect as it may be, means that more people will get to see that beauty for themselves and come away from it with a greater love for what games can really be.
-
Oct 23, 2025Persona 3 Reload’s strengths are in its details. The game’s turn-based combat and social aspects should become repetitive, but they build effectively throughout. More importantly, the style, story, and characters are continually compelling, driving to a finish that will stick with you well after the game’s finished.
-
Oct 23, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a superb remake of a cult classic that successfully treads the line between faithful recreation and modernisation. Its gorgeous visual overhaul, much improved audio presentation, and myriad quality of life improvements easily make it the best way to play an RPG that is just as relevant today as it was in the early noughts. In some ways even more so..
-
Oct 22, 2025Persona 3 Reload is the best kind of remake: it honours the core of what makes the game great, but isn’t afraid to modernise the experience at the same time. It’s nostalgia done well, because it plays onscreen the way the original felt in my memory (without having to squint at a 4-inch PSP screen). It’s honestly a joy to see a game I loved brought to a whole new audience, while still giving me a deluxe version of something I already know I’ll enjoy. While it may not include every ingredient that every version of Persona 3 has ever had, it’s a confident and complete version all its own – and I can’t wait to keep climbing that tower.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a confident remake of a truly seminal RPG that cements itself as the definitive way to play Persona 3. It's clear that careful thought and deliberation has gone into every aspect of Reload to respect the legacy of Persona 3 while preserving its timeless charm and atmosphere. An absolute must play for any fan of the franchise, and a great point to jump in for those looking to take the plunge into Persona.
-
Oct 21, 2025This has been quite the non-review, I know, but then I don’t have anything to say about Persona 3 Reload that I haven’t already said, other than to note that it’s not quite as refined, smooth and slick as it is on PlayStation 5. It’s a slight enough degradation that I have no issue recommending the game anyway, though. More broadly, I guess the retro gamer in me does miss the days when meaning in video games was a collaboration between the player and the limitations the game developer worked with.

Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is amazing on Nintendo Switch 2. To have this Persona 3 experience on the go on a mobile Nintendo console is just great. If you can overlook the lowered FPS, it is a great addition to the Nintendo Switch 2 Library. From the Memento Mori theme story, the memorable cast, soundtrack, and battle system, you will not regret it.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a wonder on Nintendo Switch 2, which uses the classic Persona formula of sending you - a school child - on a hero’s journey surrounded by friends. Embark on a remake of an epic tale that feels familiar, but sparkles with a new voice cast, soundtrack, and graphics.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is not a carbon-copied remaster of Persona 3 Portable or even Persona 3. It’s a refreshed perspective of Persona 3 that removes a good bunch of pain from older RPGs while retaining the charm and character of the original. It feels like many thoughtful decisions were made to better the game’s flow without compromising on its core experience or watering it down. Framerate quibbles of the Switch 2 version aside, owners of 2023’s Persona 3 Portable might feel like there aren’t enough changes to warrant a replay. But, if you haven’t yet experienced its source material, Persona 3 Reload is without a doubt the best version of the game to play.
-
Oct 21, 2025The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Persona 3 Reload keeps the Atlus RPG experience intact. The only sacrifice is the performance reduction (30fps instead of 60fps), but in return, you gain the ability to play it anywhere... which is greatly appreciated in a game of this kind.
-
Oct 29, 2025The arrival of Persona 3 Reload on the Nintendo Switch 2 feels more like a compromise than a carefully handled release. Expectations leaned toward better performance, not such limited optimization. However, that does not take away from the fact that this entry in the Persona series remains an experience truly worth playing, regardless of platform. It is a title every player should experience.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is designed for a broad yet discerning audience, including those on Switch 2. It’s perfect for anyone who’s never experienced the original story and is looking for a deep, narrative-driven, emotionally engaging JRPG. It’s also ideal for players who loved Persona 5 and want to discover where many of its ideas originated. Those who have already completed previous versions, however, might feel less motivated, unless driven by the curiosity to relive the experience with a fresh technical and artistic perspective (perhaps even in portable form).
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a necessary return, a bridge between past and present that confirms the strength and sensitivity of a saga capable of reinventing itself without betraying itself. Atlus demonstrates its ability to respectfully restore, giving the game a modern look and splendid art direction, even if it fails to completely smooth out the wrinkles of a dated design. The experience remains intense, emotional, and deeply human, with a refined combat system and a narrative that continues to shine. The Switch 2 version, unfortunately, shows some technical limitations that partially dampen its magic, but not enough to obscure the greatness of the work. An essential journey for fans, and an excellent entry point for those who have never experienced the Dark Hour.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is an authentic modernization of a landmark JRPG. For newcomers, it offers an unforgettable adventure with fantastic combat and a rich, intrigue-filled narrative. Returning players will find the classic revitalized on Nintendo’s hybrid, with locked, steady performance that makes it a perfect title to experience on the go. Altogether, it’s a faithful revival that ensures Persona 3 continues to resonate with both old fans and a new generation of players.
-
Oct 21, 2025While somewhat of a disappointing port, Persona 3 Reload on Switch is still one of the very best RPGs you could play in 2025.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload remains one of the best JRPGs out there, and what I encountered here does little to deter me from that sentiment. Switch 2 owners might not be getting the best version performance-wise, but they’re still getting a version that’s worthy enough to play on the go. Those who care about smooth framerates will be better served playing it on more powerful platforms. But if you’re looking for a solid enough port on Nintendo’s shiny new Switch, you can certainly do a lot worse than this.
-
Oct 21, 2025There’s still some structural issues with Persona 3, but it’s probably the most underappreciated member of its trilogy.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload on Switch 2 is a great opportunity to play an incredible game on the go. While there's compromises to the game on more powerful consoles, and it needs a performance patch, my commutes got a lot more interesting having this in my bag.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is an extensive and thoughtful remake of the original and unquestionably the best way to experience this modern RPG classic. Switching between daytime and nighttime activities is a blast, and the streamlined gameplay and slick presentation make even the smallest actions feel satisfying. Minor frustrations remain, chiefly the repetitious nature of Tartarus, while the lack of FES and Portable content prevents Reload from being the definitive version of Persona 3. If this doesn't bother you, though, consider it a must-play on the Switch 2.
-
Oct 21, 2025So, all in all: should you play Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch 2? If you've been waiting for precisely this version to dive into its world, the answer is an absolute yes. And I envy you: you're in for dozens of hours of genuine fun and a quality that's in short supply in the usual release rate. However, if you've already enjoyed P3R on PC, PS5, and/or Xbox Series, you're not going to find anything new here.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a remake that fits surprisingly well on the Switch 2. It’s a solid choice for owners of the console and longtime Atlus fans. While most of its visual quality is intact, the framerate is locked at 30fps in both modes — a strange decision that’s sure to spark debate. Aside from that, it’s a strong port overall but fans will definitely miss the Episode Aegis expansion.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload on Switch 2 is exactly the same game we played more than 1 year ago but the frame pacing took a heavy hit and it's in strong need of a patch. That being said, Persona 3 Reload is still an amazing JRPG through and through that fans of the genre should definitely play.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload on Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t on par with the capabilities of the hardware.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload on Switch 2 revives one of Atlus’ most beloved RPGs, pairing its poignant story and overhauled mechanics with the optional convenience of handheld play. Unfortunately, uneven frame pacing and leisurely load times impair this otherwise soulful remake.
-
Oct 24, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a visually impressive remake that honours the original in many ways and enhances it in presentation. The graphics and animation are among the best the series has delivered so far, giving new life to a classic. However, if you’re someone who values brisk pacing, rapid story progression, or immediate action, you may find yourself frustrated with how slowly things progress early on. The payoff was worth it for me as an enjoyer of the series and the genre, and I had a great time playing Persona 3 for the first time. I definitely recommend it to fans of Persona 5 who may not have played earlier entries in the series.
-
Oct 24, 2025Persona 3 Reload is a great remake, with improved graphics and cutscenes, new gameplay mechanics and fantastic sound. It is disappointing that the game runs only at 30fps on Switch 2, and that there is a quite a bit of stuttering at certain points. However, none of these issues are game breaking, and overall, Persona 3 Reload retells a great story on a modern console. It is definitely worth picking up and playing.
-
Oct 23, 2025I really wish that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Persona 3 Reload didn’t have the technical problems it does. Without them, this would be a slam-dunk recommendation for any and all RPG fans. With them, I have to load that endorsement with a number of conditions. If you’re planning to play mainly in handheld mode and are even lightly sensitive to frame pacing or stuttering, you might want to hold off for a performance update. Those looking to play in docked mode will have a more tolerable time of it. Persona 3 Reload is an excellent RPG, but you might want to play it elsewhere if you have the option.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2 with a visually optimized—but technically limited—edition. This revisit of the acclaimed 2024 JRPG successfully adapts its interfaces and resolutions for both handheld and docked modes, offering a polished visual experience overall. However, it struggles to maintain consistent performance during exploration and combat sequences. As expected for a port arriving nearly two years after its original release, this version does not include any of the previously released DLC.
-
Nov 4, 2025I will very freely tell you how much this port is not as fantastic as this game is, the decision to release this port as soon as possible could potentially hurt what is otherwise a fantastic JRPG game and unless the Switch 2 is your only console of choice, I'd play this game elsewhere or wait for future updates.
-
Oct 29, 2025While I’m definitely looking forward to updates to the Switch 2 port of Reload, but it’s rather rough on the technical side right now. I would summarize it as a great game that looks great, sounds great, and plays great, but is unfortunately a victim of poor performance.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload for Switch 2 should've been the easiest win for Atlus, but it is lacking in some key areas. If you've not played it before and mostly play docked on Switch 2, it is a good but conservative port, and P3R remains worth your time. The real issue is how Persona 3 Reload for Switch 2 doesn't feel great to play at all right now on the go, the real draw of this new port. Had Atlus included all DLC, it would've been a good excuse to replay the game with different costume and music options, or even made it so those who played the base game last year could experience Episode Aigis on the go.
-
Oct 21, 2025Persona 3 Reload finally hits the Nintendo Switch 2, but what should've been a celebration quickly turns into a major letdown. The frame pacing and constant stutters make every step through Tatsumi Port Island a chore, no matter how enjoyable the game itself can be. Maybe ATLUS will patch the frame rate issues in the future, but even then, the lack of support for 60 FPS might be enough to detract some players regardless.

Oct 28, 2025If you can only play it on Switch 2, don't miss out because it's a must-have, but if not, the experience on other platforms is visually better.
