May 12, 2026There’s just something about being able to punch Nazis and solve elaborate puzzles on the go that is uniquely satisfying.
-
May 18, 2026If you have a PS5 or Xbox Series X, those versions are the best way to experience the game visually. But if portability matters—or if Switch 2 is your preferred option—this is still an adventure well worth taking. After all, great treasure hunts aren’t about perfect conditions—they’re about the journey.
-
May 13, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, from developer MachineGames and publisher Bethesda Softworks, brings the same great story, gameplay, and adventure to the Nintendo Switch 2. It might have a slight drop in visuals, but it delivers on all other gameplay fronts.
-
May 12, 2026Concessions aside, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for the Switch 2 is impressive. The globe-trotting adventure takes Indy on another mystical quest, and one that’s worthy of the films at that. New characters and locations help this story feel fresh at times, and the exploration and puzzles are equally important in delivering the ultimate fantasy of being the beloved treasure-hunting archaeologist who’s been a staple of cinema for nearly 50 years.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t just another dose of leftovers on the Switch 2. This is a fantastic port of an already exceptional game that makes use of the Switch 2’s unique features and still looks great even in handheld mode. If you haven’t yet had the chance to take this adventure on, then this is an absolutely fantastic way to do so.

May 12, 2026The Great Circle is, by far, the best Indiana Jones media since The Last Crusade. While its story plays things a bit too safe, it's probably for the best after the last two contentious films (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny). Indy works best when he's a young escapist character that men wish they could be. He shouldn't ever be depicted as old and tired, which has been a trend with many legacy characters lately. While Gina sucks as a deuteragonist, the overall adventure is so wonderful that it's easy to forget she spoils the puzzles. The gameplay is tight and well polished, offering classic action-adventure fun packed with puzzles, stealth, and battles to keep things fresh, all wrapped up in some of the cleanest, slickest production values out there. It's an absolute technical marvel on Nintendo Switch 2, and the gyro-aim options make it more enjoyable to play than on other consoles.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is the best cinematic to game adaptation I’ve ever played, one of the best stories the Indiana Jones IP has told, and one of the Switch 2’s most impressive third party ports thus far. The Switch 2 delivers this masterpiece nearly uncompromised. Its only the occasional stutter or low-resolution texture that gives away the game’s slimmed down form. Whether you’re delving into ancient ruins to solve puzzles, or introducing a nazi to the loving embrace of a sledgehammer, every moment of the Great Circle is absolute bliss.
-
May 12, 2026When a game comes late to Nintendo platforms, you sometimes wonder, was this really worth all the fuss when it first released? Were we missing out? The answer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an emphatic “you’re damn right it is”. While the game’s mechanics are things we might have seen before, we’ve never seen Indiana Jones treated with this much respect for such a long time. MachineGames have nailed it, and the Switch 2 port shows that the age of the impossible port isn’t over, because you lose almost nothing by playing it here. We might not get another Indiana Jones movie again, but if we can get another Indy game as good as this, we’ll be just fine.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was already an excellent adventure game, and this Nintendo Switch 2 version does it justice. Handheld mode comes with a few expected compromises, but MachineGames has delivered a remarkably polished port that makes Indy’s latest adventure feel right at home on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
-
May 12, 2026If you only own a Nintendo Switch 2, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle is an absolutely must-have. Is it worth buying a second time if you already own the Xbox Series X or PS5 version? Not really, but if you want it to be an excuse to play the entire adventure again, then nobody should blame you for doing so. The Switch 2 version running at 30 frames per second will deflate some, but when you consider the addition of gyroscope functionality, the trade-off is worth it. Overall, Indiana Jones And The Great Circle on Switch 2 is a great Switch 2 game, even if it might be a harder sell for those who've already played it.
-
May 17, 2026An epic journey around the world in true Indy-style, now portable on the Switch 2. Despite some pop-ins and compromises, this offers a full gaming experience that fits right in with the movies.
-
May 13, 2026A quality port to an amazing game. The framerate may not always be as smooth as we had hoped, but don't let that stop you: Indy on Switch 2 is still an easy recommendation.
-
May 12, 2026This is exactly how I imagined an Indiana Jones game would be. A perfect balance of puzzles, combat, and stealth. Machine Games perfectly captured the atmosphere, irony, occasional slapstick humor, and Troy Baker delivers a fantastic performance as Harrison Ford. Everything runs surprisingly well on the Nintendo Switch 2, though some compromises were necessary. If the enemy AI weren't so weak and the purchased camera weren't so overused, it would have been even better.
-
May 12, 2026Like many ports of current generation titles, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a solid iteration of an excellent title. The game absolutely nails the feeling of a classic Indiana Jones adventure with a great balance of puzzle-solving and action. The dialogue and humor are spot-on, the places you visit are as varied as can be, and the presentation is still incredible on such a seemingly underpowered device. It would've been nice if the DLC were included in the package, and there are still some gameplay elements that don't feel fully fleshed out, but this remains a title that is well worth playing — no matter where you're playing it.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle delivers both high calibre adventure, story and performance in spades, to the point it feels as though it’s wading into “uncharted territory” for its publisher. The decision to bop a Nazi should be a foregone conclusion, however the lack of balance in stealth and combat systems kept me in limbo, and left Indiana Jones and the Great Circle just a stone stele’s throw from true greatness.
-
May 16, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Switch 2 stands as a remarkably complete handheld adaptation of a cinematic adventure that was never originally built with portable limitations in mind. What makes it work is how consistently the core experience survives the transition. Puzzles remain engaging, exploration stays immersive, and the sense of being part of a globe-spanning mystery never fully fades. The trade-offs in visuals and performance are real and occasionally noticeable, but they rarely undermine the moment-to-moment enjoyment.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a great game with a unique personality, highly varied and entertaining, featuring a more than notable gameplay adaptation on Nintendo Switch 2, although its technical performance on the console could have been better. It’s an unpolished diamond that is still enjoyable, even if it leaves you wondering what it could have been with better optimization.
-
May 16, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle underscores the Nintendo Switch 2’s unique standing among Nintendo consoles: it’s the home of ambitious blockbusters from partner studios—games that are a lot of fun to play and capable of delivering surprises whether you’re playing on the TV or holding the console in your hands.
-
May 13, 2026The Great Circle on Nintendo Switch 2 continues to offer a pure Indiana Jones experience, where its successes in adapting to a less powerful system outweigh the limitations it faces. With a few launch tweaks to improve those platform-specific features, MachineGames still has plenty of treasures to bring to players with the game.
-
May 12, 2026Even if I wasn’t as impressed with The Great Circle on Switch 2 compared to other, similar ports, it was still an enjoyable experience. If you can get past minor visual weirdness and a smidge of lag, this version of the game will serve you well. And if you’re a Switch 2 only houseshold, there’s officially no need to miss out on this latest Indiana Jones adventure. But if I had the choice, I’d probably play this one on a platform with a big more processing power.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an impressive Nintendo Switch 2 port, with glorious visuals in docked mode and solid handheld performance. I’ve got a couple of quibbles with the gameplay itself, especially in the early stealth-oriented missions, and there are a few rough moments in transitions between cutscenes and gameplay. However, I’d still recommend this version to anyone looking for a quest that lives up to the legacy of this iconic franchise.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an impressive port on Nintendo Switch 2—maintaining the fun and excitement of the films, and the impressive qualities of its console brethren.
-
May 12, 2026A globe-trotting adventure with compelling exploration, crunchy melee, and tomb-raiding puzzles. With a great story and sky-high production value, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is an authentic new franchise entry with a capable lead in Troy Baker. And despite taking the odd hit, the Switch 2 port holds its own admirably.
-
May 12, 2026Indiana Jones isn't one to compromise, yet to embark on his quest for the Ancient Circle on Switch 2, he's settled for a now-retro resolution (1080p or 720p in handheld mode) locked at 30 FPS. In exchange, he's gained mouse and motion controls (though the latter aren’t exactly precise). After all, there are plenty of better ways to play Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, including on a handheld, but the technical effort to adapt it to Switch 2 is commendable, and it must be acknowledged that the core of the game remains intact.
-
May 12, 2026The arrival of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Switch 2 brings with it all the magic and adventure of the original work by MachineGames, but it comes at a steep price. While the blend of exploration, puzzles, and action remains rock-solid and perfectly in line with the spirit of the films, the port suffers from significant technical compromises. Between framerate drops, pop-in, and evident visual downgrades, the title struggles to maintain stability, especially during chaotic sequences and when playing in Docked mode. Despite a stealth AI that isn’t always brilliant, it remains a great adventure; however, the purchase is recommended only if the Nintendo ecosystem is your sole gaming platform. Otherwise, look elsewhere to enjoy the title at its full potential.
-
May 18, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Switch 2 is a commendable port. Despite technical compromises like dynamic resolution (540p-1080p docked, 360p-720p handheld) and texture compression to fit a 64GB cartridge, it impressively retains ray-traced global illumination and runs locally at 30 FPS. While frame drops occur in busy areas and textures are noticeably reduced, especially in handheld mode, the game delivers a visually faithful and well-optimized experience for the hybrid console, avoiding cloud streaming or large downloads. The HD Rumble implementation is also praised.
-
May 16, 2026The Switch 2 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is absolutely not the best version, but if you can live with a somewhat inconsistent framerate, there's still plenty of fun to be had here.
-
May 12, 2026Dr. Jones does what he can with what he has, alongside MachineGames and Bethesda. It is a game that shines in every way thanks to its nostalgia and a unique adventure starring the legendary archaeologist, but it is somewhat held back by the lack of polish in its port. With a few improvements, some patches, and better texture handling, the game could end up being as good as its versions on other consoles.

May 12, 2026Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Switch 2 is another miracle port for the console. Gone are the days of playing third party games on a Nintendo console and feeling like you’re getting a sub-par experience. Despite some necessary concessions, this is a good port of a great game and you’ll enjoy your time with Indy here as much as you would anywhere else. [Switch 2 impressions]
-
May 12, 2026While we need a bit more time to test later portions of the game on Nintendo Switch 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is one of the better Switch 2 ports so far in the AAA space, retaining the game’s identity and delivering a solid portable experience. It isn’t as good as the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 or even the recent Dynasty Warriors: Origins port, but I like it more than Final Fantasy VII Rebirth based on that demo. Stay tuned for our final score in the near future. [Review in Progress]
-
May 13, 2026MachineGames handled the port internally, without relying on specialized third-party studios; while the result is generally convincing, it involves certain technical choices that are worth knowing about before making a purchase.
-
May 12, 2026All of the inherent strengths of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle remain in place on the Switch 2, and it performs surprisingly well overall. If the team can improve some of the lighting and shadowing issues, it would be a nigh-on perfect port, of one of the best games of recent years. [Switch 2 impressions]
