    Ok, I'm not sure about it being a Mario game makes it bad to the kids who play Call of Duty all day... but who cares! This classical Super Mario 64 will keep you on from playing several hours and hours until you complete the game! After completing the game, you have several things to do left or just call the game a collector's item.

    The granddaddy of all 3d platformers! Super Mario 64 is basically my childhood! It still remains a personal favorite and game I cherish both in the 3d platformer genre as well as all 3D video games in general.

    I reviewed all of the classic Mario games now, and it's finally time for me to review this game. God damn, this game is awesome. One of my favorite games of all time, actually. To start off, we have the average everyday plot of a Mario game, so I won't have to spoil it. You go into the castle nearby and you jump into a painting to enter a stage. Something similar has been in every 3D MarioI reviewed all of the classic Mario games now, and it's finally time for me to review this game. God damn, this game is awesome. One of my favorite games of all time, actually. To start off, we have the average everyday plot of a Mario game, so I won't have to spoil it. You go into the castle nearby and you jump into a painting to enter a stage. Something similar has been in every 3D Mario game since. Most stages contain boss fights, which is fine by me. However, they're all pretty easy, so don't expect a challenge. Even the Bowser fights are no challenge. Despite this, the level design is great, the soundtrack is awesome, and the graphics... while not the best for the N64, are still pretty good. Overall, Mario 64 is a kick ass game and my favorite Mario game of all time.… Expand

    The standard setter for all 3D platform games to come, Super Mario 64 develops a fantastic camera system and tight controls for the best experience on the Nintendo 64, in my opinion.

    Nintendo do it best when it comes to launch titles, and the time you spend trying to capture all 120 stars will be rewarding and fun. For me, it is still one of the best games ever created.

    Possibly the greatest game ever made, or at least in the top 5 of every game ever made. This game will be 20 in a few months and no game yet has rivaled what this game has done in gameplay, worlds, soundtrack, graphics (for the technology back then) or immersion.

    The game that set the standard for 3D Platforming games and to this day probably still the best one ever. Easily one of the best games ever made and a must play for any gamer.

    My 2nd favorite Mario game is this one. The controls feels so free. Not in the bad way. The levels are awesome and the bosses are too. This has to be the 3rd best nintendo 64 game. I recommend everyone play it. It's 100% awesome!

    My personal favourite game of all time. Many, many levels, great platforming, was revolutionary to 3D gaming. I honestly speechless about this game, it's AMAZING!! 100/10

    oque falar de Super Mario 64, um jogo incrivel, grafico muito bons, temos o Mario que é personagem espetacular, muitas mapas, um diferente do outro, alguns sao dificeis, a trilha sonora é incrivel, temos personagens classico no game tambem, a verdade é que Mario raramente decepciona, jogo incrivel, classico, vale a pena demais jogar, baixem um emulador no pc e joguem esse classico.     O jogo eh ótimo, desde seu lançamento eu me supre endo, ate hoje eu jogo e eh um jogo incrível, com ótimos gráficos (para a época) e com ótimos comando, mesmo com aquele controle de N64 meio bagunçado rs, mas esse jogo é ótimo 10/10!

I really enjoyed getting all 120 stars (twice because I loved the game so much). Despite the n64's controller (remember it?) The controls were actually good, and the different levels are varied have just the right difficulty. Although I prefer Super Mario GalaxyMario 64 has aged incredibly well. It stills stands up today as enjoyable and fantastic to play as it was in 1996, truly addictive and very well made, the level designs are memorable, the music is charming and the controls are intuitive.     I had never actually beaten this game until 2016, despite having played it briefly a few times since its release 20 years earlier. So even without copious amounts of nostalgia, this game grabbed hold of me and didn't let me go until I had 120 stars. The level of challenge is great. The analog stick makes this the only way to play this game.     This game was absolutely mindblowing and revolutionary for 1996. The graphics might have aged but they still look nice for the eye because they are so cheerful and colorful. But what's best is that gameplay and controls haven't aged and they are still perfectly fluid and responsive, even for modern standards. You can still play this game in 2020 and have lots of fun.

    Innovation: It was a tremendous boom at that time and to say, the way to handle the camera and to mario is amazing and so far it has been very copied this formula pr other games.

    Amazing! Even today Mario 64 is playable, and that says everything. Great plataforming, combined with the excelent controls (for that time), Super Mario 64 is a true gem that needs to be keept alive.

    One of the greatest platformers ever created. Looking at it now, the levels are little more bare and smaller than when I first played as a kid, but it still holds up. Level design is varied in the 15 worlds, some better than others, but there isn't a world in the game that I think should be cut, that's saying something (best ghost house in any Mario game). The music is fantastic, the secrets are well thought out, and the variations to how you acquire the power stars keep it feeling fresh. Graphics aren't horrendous, sure its blocky and pointy at times, but it still has that Mario charm that can't be wiped away with age. I was worried about the camera when thinking on replaying this gem again, but I was surprised how few times it was a deterrent to completing my task. There were only two parts where I felt it floundered, and that's pretty good in a five-hour-plus play session. Once I got reacquainted with the controls, it wasn't a hindrance that plagued my entire sessions. An excellent game, if you haven't given this one a chance, go play it.… Expand

    Probablemente este ha sido el título que ha marcado la diferencia total en la historia de los juegos de Nintendo, se trata de la primera entrega en utilizar texturas 3D para la consola de Nintendo 64 en el año 1996.

    La historia en sí es muy sencilla, un fontanero de baja estatura, pelo castaño y bigote de color negro. Debe salvar a una princesa que fue secuestrada en su propio castillo, siendo raptada por el típico antagonista de la saga: Bowser. Ya con el hecho de saber que la sinopsis es casi igual al ´Debut´ de Super Mario en 1985, y además que ella se encuentra encerrada en su propio castillo, no presenta gran amenaza y tampoco es la gran cosa, así que. ¿Por qué este juego es tan desafiante y exitoso en ello?

    Porque es honesto, el juego sabe que tiene una premisa simple, así que la explota, transforma y evoluciona de maneras inimaginables. Haciendo a nuestro protagonista casi imposible la tarea de encontrar a la princesa de una forma rápida y sencilla.
    La dificultad siempre está en un nivel desafiante tanto para jóvenes como mayores, tanto para jugadores con experiencia, como para aquellos que utilizan por primera vez una videoconsola, y esto representa el gran trabajo llevado a cabo en la construcción de los controles y la jugabilidad balanceada.

    El Castillo, el cual es el escenario principal donde se desarrolla todo el juego. Se presenta como un universo entero, el cual está plagado de mundos, cientos de estrellas, misiones, y jamás se te da la oportunidad de quedarte ahí sin nada que hacer, siempre surge algo nuevo que explorar y descubrir.
    Para aquellos que jueguen este título por primera vez probablemente les parecerá casi infinita la exploración. Recuerda mucho al castillo de ´Hogwards´ de la saga Harry Potter, el cual está lleno de pasajes secretos, trampas, monstruos y misterios, algo muy similar al castillo de este juego, el cual posee un diseño arquitectónico totalmente perfecto.

    La banda sonora, probablemente una de las más icónicas y memorables en la industria de los videojuegos. Cuenta con distintos temas aplicados para cada nivel, pero el mejor sin dudas es el del escenario principal, el cual suena como una orquesta sinfónica de sintetizador que refleja a la perfección la paz y comodidad que ofrece el ambiente. Probablemente el único problema que encuentro con el juego es el manejo de la cámara, el cual a veces resulta un verdadero obstáculo para poder llevar a cabo las acciones de el personaje, pero nada que arruine la experiencia en general.

    En resumen, me atrevo a decir que Super Mario 64 es uno de los juegos más espectaculares, fantásticos e imaginativos que se hayan creado, todo esto con una dirección perfectamente sublime. Aún para la fecha sigue cautivando con su maravillosa estructura, mecánica, musicalización, gráficos y esplendida jugabilidad, todo esto lo que lo ha convertido en una figura icónica y ejemplar para los diseños de entregas posteriores. Además de ser uno de esos títulos que logran transportar al jugador en su totalidad, a su hermoso y perfectamente construido mundo. Una autentica e indudable obra maestra.

    Simply, one of the best game i've ever played. It's so satisfying to control Mario. Level designs are great. Every level designed for Mario's platforming abilities.But camera control is so weird and annoying. Sadly you can't see the boss fights in every course. That's a bit disapointing. But this doesn't change the fact that this game is a masterpiece.

    A mere 10 is not enough but we can be clear that this game is and will be legend until the end of times, is these kinds of games that you will play again after finishing it, i already finished and got sad, but im sure i will be back later. You only can understand if you play it, is the blueprints of all 3D plataformer games.

    Mario 64 is a fun and intriguing game and for it's time it had great graphics. If you've never played this game before, I highly suggest it. The controls and camera work great, unlike Mario Sunshine. It's definitely one of my favorite Mario Games.

    I played Mario 64 countless times. It's as awesome as it always was. The level design is great, music's great, camera's great. The opening is still one of the best in gaming. Super Mario 64 should be ranked as the best 3d game ever.

None of the kingdoms featured in Odyssey are present here, except Mushroom. I expect more from a game with such a detailed story and plot. Obviously thats the main point here. The puzzles are well put together, the music is great, the hub world is the best hub world I've ever been in, Mario is fun to control, and all the worlds are unique and offer up a different, yet fun experience. The only issue I have with the game is the camera, but it was the first true 3D platformer created, so of course the camera is not going to be great. My secondWow! What a game!     This game deserves a very rare "perfect" score from me. An ultimate game classic, that's what I would call Super Mario 64 is!

    Super Mario 64 has strong visuals that is unexpected on the year 1996, to which the year it was released. The concept of the game, in garnering "stars" as tokens in proceeding to various sections of the game, is unique and fantastic.

    The soundtrack of the game is decent and enjoyable which adds tension and motivation in finishing this quite long-played game; by long-played, in a sense, of it's terms on difficulty in acquiring stars and other game tokens such as keys and milestones.

    What I like about this game is not the generic story but rather on how it was very enjoyable in acquiring and capturing those plentiful stars in the game. Every stars I manage to earn adds even more enthusiasm in obtaining all of them. AND THAT! is the way a classic game should have an impact to it's users.

    Congratulations on the creators and all the people who are involved in making this wonderful and classic game. This really develops my fantastic childhood. Every time I see this game and watch people play it, the moments I remember while playing it is a nostalgic memory that I will recall from the rest of my life.

    So many good memories from my childhood. This is by far my favorite Mario game and imagine my surprise and happiness when I first saw the Mushroom Kingdom in Odyssey! I love everything about this game and I cannot wait until the N64 mini!

    This game is perhaps the greatest I've ever played. One of the most masterful platformers with a wide array of fun levels and powerups that kept me engaged for hours on end. This is a game you need to play once in your lifetime.

    I was a kid when I played this, and since then it's been my favorite Mario game. The worlds are varied, and platforming and star hunting are very fun. The game is extremely well designed. It's a must-have for any N64 owner.

    First game I ever played, usually I'd stay away from reviewing it due my nostalgia but I replayed it to the end and must say it holds up for a reason other than rose tinted glasses:

Even to this day, the game stands far above anything that came after it - Sunshine, Galaxy and Odyssey all owe a great deal to what this game did for the genre of 3D platformers, and what it was able to do despite the technological limitations of the era it was released in.

    If one were to nitpick, the camera might be a bit finicky at times, and the controls might not feel absolutely perfect - however, such gripes feel minuscule and unwarranted when looking at how marvellous everything else is. The music and sound design are sublime and iconic; the environments are gorgeous; the gameplay and mechanics all feel timeless.

    Super Mario 64's legendary status among video games is deserved. While it may be showing some signs of age, I fully believe this is the best 3D Mario game ever, and managed to set an unreasonably high bar for all 3D platformers that came after, even among its direct sequels.    … Expand

    I played this for the 2020 switch version, and at first glance, it just felt weird because I had played Odyssey beforehand and basically it looked like it was gonna feel “dated”. But it is mesmerising how well it stands after more than 20 years. The music is great and the level design is clever and interesting. Absolute classic

    The world is amazing and blew my childhood mind away not to mention the perfect and precise handling of Mario. Nintendo took a risk by bringing Mario to the 3D world and wow did it pay off.

    The best 3D perspective platforms of the 90's generation and probably the best platforms to date. Easy to play hard to master. Great variety of worlds and enemies. Waste of imagination and creativity. Unforgettable soundtrack. Nothing bad to say about this game. 10/10.

    Maaaan what a game. This is by far the greatest Mario game ever created by Nintendo. Like, this game has so much more heart than some of the modern Mario games like New. Super Mario Bros. The difficculty is one of the most balanced in the video game history, the soundtrack is so damn gorgeous, and every stage leaves you with this feeling of wanting to explore more.     The first game I finished in my life, which makes it very special for me. Something unimaginable for the epoch that launched, set standards that would be followed by 3D platform games until today. He aged very well, as it is a very fun game to play today.

I was about 7 years old when I first got Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64 and the second I started it I fell in love with it and even all these years later it's still an amazing game that's graphics STILL hold up.     Super Mario 64 is one of the most influential games of all time and my personal favorite. With a great soundtrack, fun level design, and movement that still holds up today, this game is still without a doubt worth playing.     The superstar 3D mario game is something that will be stuck in your head. Stars to collect are challenging and rewarding, and the courses are all memorable. You can beat the game without going through much griding and frustration, but 100% is challenging, and takes some time to complete.

I enjoyed playing 64 this was such a fun game to play because of how mario controls even tho he's kinda slippery most of the times, the paintings in peach's castle, the music, the wing cap which is my favorite, the metal cap, and the insvisibilty cap. One huge thing that's keeping this game alive is the speed running community. Oh my god there are so many speedrunners playing this game just because they wanted to beat it in under an hour or so but the way they do it is absolutely nuts, theres the blj, the wallglitches and so much more idk them yet but everytime I see a speedrunner playing 64 all I can do is just smile how one of my favorite games is getting this much attention despite how old it is.     Ho finito recentemente questo gioco al 100% e devo dire che è stato un viaggio divertentissimo. Per quanto la telecamera sia praticamente ingestibile, Super Mario64 per me si è rivelato sia un gioco rilassante e sia una sfida. Otiimo platform 3d, in futuro sicuramente lo finirò di nuovo!

I also think that this is the perfect game to speedrun and the glitches are really funny and cool (sometimes also helpful). I really dont care about the graphics because its just the perfect game.     It's a classic, what else is there to say? It's almost infinitely replayable and just pure fun. I think the only way it could be better is if it got a full remaster (Super Mario 3D All Stars doesn't count).

The only game to match its effect was Donkey Kong Country. This game revolutionized how we viewed gaming. It added the Z axis! Sega Saturn was a cheap thrill compared to the excitement of this game. Finding stars, bashing baddies, savingFrom NES to SNES was a small leap. From SNES to Nintendo 64 was a huge leap. The impression this game made on me in my early days of gaming was profound.     The distribution of power stars in the levels is horrendous. I think 7 stars in one level is more than enough, don't you think? I understand that there are memory constraints, but there either could have been less stars overall, or 1 (maybe 2) more level(s). Definately a problem.
