Whilst not quite being able to hold a candle to the origInal due to some serious frame rate issues on earlier devices and moments of clunky control right when you don't want them, this handheld version of one of the best creative games available is still worth the cash, along as your device is current enough to run it.

Porting a classic to the small screen isn't an easy task, and while the mobile version of Terraria is by no means perfect, it's still an entertaining experience. As with any port to mobile, most of the issues lie with the limitations - worlds remain two sizes too small, frame and spawn rate issues abound, and most annoyingly, glitches. Lots of 'em. Like, an aggravating amount. Fortunately, constant updates mean those pesky bugs stay manageable (if not squashed), and in the end it's easy to overlook these minor flaws in what's otherwise an admirable port of the PC masterpiece. Extremely addicting game, and your imagination is the limit. However, this game is not really one at last, after about 4 days or so of playing you get bored and move on from the game. But other than that, great game.

This game is extremely fun, and works better than minecraft pe (minecraft on phone/tablet) If you don't have consoles this is an amazing game to get a full portable experience.

I had heard that Terraria was better than Minecraft. TI thought "No way!" But my mind changed right after playing it for the first time! One of the games main features is the variety of bosses - so far I've defeated 6. Just yesterday I took on and defeated the Wall of Flesh! Some of the cooler bosses: Skeletron Prime, the Goblin Army, the Pirate Army, Eater of Worlds and Duke Fishron!I had heard that Terraria was better than Minecraft. TI thought "No way!" Alright, I'm going to give it straight.
Terraria. Great game. Free roaming, I guess. Slight Story. Lost of stuff and items. Not as much as PC but its good enough for Mobile.

The only downside is that for the people who have beaten all bosses, what do we do next? They haven't released the final bosses and items yet, and there is no mod area to get more bosses.

This game is a challenge to beat. And it really is fun that way. But one problem: Glitchy as heck. But this game is soon getting 1.3 so we get more bosses and others.

One of the best indie games I’ve ever had the chance to experience. Mobile controls may be a bit finicky, but with time and patience, you can get used to them. Terraria is quite difficult, with the endgame being a gauntlet of fights.

People compare Terraria to Minecraft a lot, when really, they aren’t alike at all. Terraria worlds are more of a short-term thing, with limited size and the constant threat of the corruption slowly eating away at your world. If you want to use a world long term, it’s possible to cut off the corruption, but it’s VERY time consuming.

Terraria has a heavy focus on progression and combat, with building just being an extra. If building is all you truly care about, however, Journey Mode allows you to duplicate materials, and has a Godmode, allowing you to completely ignore all forms of damage.

Unwieldy controls and missing multiplayer modes let down an otherwise impressive port. [Dec 2013, p.76]

If you like to explore a randomly generated world, mine and harvest everything your eyes can see and build any type of weird structures, Terraria is the right game for you. If you loved the PC version you will love the iOS version too, despite the lack of multiplayer and the size of the map.

While by no means a replacement for the full PC version of Terraria, this pint-sized iteration is an effortless recommendation.
