    It is truly sad to see something so great fall so hard. They rehashed a lazy phone version of a decade old game that is filled with graphical glitches and and a cut and paste story line. The controls are terrible and clunky at best. It's complete pay 2 win design. To max out your character end game is over 100k Usd. But let's be clear here per blizzard, you can't buy gear directly but inIt is truly sad to see something so great fall so hard. Blizzard take a step back, you failed yourselves as a company now your failing your community who has stood by you for 20 years because of greed and a lack of transparency.     No sane person would ever vouch for this game without being influen$ed.

    Played for 2 days just to get a feel for it, uninstalled it after nothing of value dropped, while seeing my friend who dropped 500$ got A LOT of loot.

    A lot of the game mechanics and ideas are fun and feel great. That being said, once you get to endgame, you'll need a second mortgage on your home. Blizzard has gone the way of hyper-aggressive pay to win. Sad day for all of us.

    Yes, the microtransactions are a pain in the ass and I Hope they change the monetization model BUT at this day you can enjoy the game without spending any money there are no actual barriers to the gameplay so this should not stop you from trying it, you will have a lot of fun and trust me it is pretty addicting, even more if you play with friends.    … Expand

    Done with Blizzard forever. This game is a grotesque cash grab, and there are straight up fraudulent and intentionally misleading statements in the pay transactions. This should be criminal, but Blizzard is definitely going to be writing fat settlement checks to resolve all the class action litigation this is going to create. Good riddance to a sex addled, crappy gaming company.

While Diablo 3 had its issues at launch, this is the most disgusting thing I could ever expect to come from a Blizzard game. While 98% of my friends switched to POE I was the last hold out.     As much as gameplay is ok feeling wise, and aestethicly pleasing visually most agrresive monetisation I have seen up to date makes this a very hard pass and avoid forever title for me. Actually the feeling of wasted potential here nullifies all the points for gameplay and visuals resulting in "0" score.

    I had a chance to play this game for a full week now, reached max level, equipped all legendary items etc. It becomes more and more apparent why this game is a turd in a gold wrapper with every moment I play it.

    But there's the other side.. All that shiny graphics and flashy fancy shine and cling hides a vile, microtransaction ridden hellhole (literally and figuratively as well.). You can barely notice it in the period they considering as "getting the player hooked", but experienced player can notice a few things here and there that was already introduced in other games..

    There are soo many freakin' currencies! I lost track after 30+, but I even found new ones after hitting the max level. Blizzard is of course super helpful to point you where you can BUY them for real money, all the time.. SELLING THE SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS THEY CREATED ON PURPOSE.

    The whole game is built around small annoyances that become bigger ones later, like upgrading items. After you upgrade your items 5 times, it gets a new random attribute. That's great, but if you don't like it or cannot use it, you cannot change it. Oh wait, you can, if you PAY FOR IT.. Otherwise the legendary item you cared for, upgraded, socketed, spent a ton of time and money to upgrade is basically a junk that you can might as well throw out. I'd have been ok with a basic random re-roll, but you cannot do that either, so pay up or thrown the item away, and get a new one..

    Elden rifts.. nice addition to the daily grind, except you don't get anything meaningful if you don't add a stone to it. You get 1 stone a day, and that yields a rift that rewards you a currency that you can use to buy 1 rune, that you can use to make 1 legendary gem eventually, that you can use to upgrade a legendary gem eventually, etc.. You see the pattern. Basic free players don't get anything but a tease..

    A lot of people would say that yeah it's a free game, but why? If this would be 20 years ago, this would be a full game that everyone can enjoy after you bought the full product. But it's 2022, and companies refuse to release anything that doesn't have recurring microtransactions in it, because that's where the money is..

    Understandable, if you are a company. But if you are just a gamer, all you see is a crappy game that was PURPOSELY made to be annoying, barely playable with capped progression, just so the company can sell you the solution for your every problem. Preferably, sell it to you every day, while you play it.

    At it's core this is a milking machine for the Chinese market, it was made and groomed to be non-offensive to their requirements, no gay people (normally this is not something I complain about but it explains a lot about how and why this "game" was made), nothing hinting at politics, China approved.

    They sent me a survey too.. First question was: did I spent any money in the store yet? I'd like to be positive about this, but I'm too old and cynical to just pass this without thinking that this is the "control question", so if you say no here, take a guess how much they care about your feedback?

    I'm sure Blizzard will make a lot of money on it, why wouldn't they, but as an older gamer who remembers the time when companies just made a game and sold a game, gods forbid, for artistic expression or because they had a good story of interesting new game mechanic.. For me, it's not acceptable. We are far from that age and I'm not sure we'll ever manage to navigate back out of the current trend of MTS ridden hellholes that Dimmortal is now the new crowned king of. At least the king won't get my taxes this time..    … Expand

    Yet it lacks all richness and depth in its systems, which were gutted to enforce the rule of linear, p2w stats. The daily activity roulette nothing more than a casino calling endlessly, "stay a while and pony up". Like a spoiled cut of fine steak whose stench betrays its sustenance.

    Diablo Immortal could have been a game people didn't know they wanted. If we had a PC client that wasn't trash, if the mtx were cosmetic only like path of exile (mostly), if the itemization and skill mutations weren't gutted to enforce the rule of paid stats (resonance)... If we had an actually deep arpg in this cross-platform framework, where players could run their quick solo rifts on their lunch break break and come home and do their raids on pc. There is so much potential.

    The problem is that Diablo Immortal is exactly everything PC/console gamers dreaded about the encroachment of mobile gaming: Horrifically pay to win ✅ Overly simplified mechanics ✅ daily activity spam ✅ abusive use of FOMO ✅ artificial progress blockers ✅ no concept of total access or ownership ✅. A capitalist hellhole where addicting the player to daily grind is more important than giving them an experience that is worth money. Ultimately the game is designed specifically to target whales, and is not made with the enjoyment of the user being the first and foremost concern. Actually, the game is designed specifically to create anxiety in the player about limited time offers and deals and trying to break through barriers that the game itself purposefully put in place to throttle progress. This game is not made for you to want to play, the game is designed for you to not want to put it down. And it becomes very toxic and predatory in this aim.

    It is a very confusing experience, to be going through a Diablo campaign that feels so true to Diablo. It looks good, the music is incredible, the story ties in well with both Diablo 2 and Diablo 3, lots of familiar faces and places make returns. Things that only Diablo vets would recognize. And in the middle of all that, your session is interrupted by a notification "BATTLEPASS LEVEL UP, PAY FOR ACCESS!!", or "FIRST KILL OF THE DAY BONUS!" or the giant "TAP TO GET MORE" button at the bottom of literally every item in the game. Even the items are simplified to the point that the game simply tells you what to equip. There's literally no tradeoffs or decisions to make. The only things that matter are combat rating and resonance. There's also no skill runes or ways to modify skill behavior (outside of legendary equipment which is also basic).

    So the evolution of gameplay and character progression puzzle that are the two main pillars of the genre have both literally been completely replaced by the simple act of stacking larger numbers, which is time gated unless you spend money, up to a maximum of $110,000 per character. So despite much of the game's technical prowess, I simply could not find myself enjoying it. All I ever think about is "what daily activity am I missing out on" rather than "I cannot wait to try out this new item/power!" In this sense, Diablo Immortal truly does feel like the walking corpse of Diablo. It looks like everything a Diablo game should be on the surface, but all the guts and complexity have been ripped out and replaced with casino games and gotchas, and it's just been propped up in the town square, a parody of what Diablo fans held dear.    … Expand

    I bought the battle pass, and I was enjoying myself. Got through all the story and I'm now on paragon farming level. The game is full of bugs, and not only that the pvp, they buying features are completely broken and unfair..
    I actually lost all the legendaries I had in stash when I changed my loadout in armory. Yes all those legendaries I payed for, farmed for, gonne. You can't even easily send a ticked to blizzard. How can this be? You literally payed for it and now we can't even easily complain about a bug? They get you from page to page, to forums but no direct ticket page. This is a joke. Those items are literally valued in gaming time    … Expand

    The actual gameplay is not bad. The monetization is beyond disgusting with this game. The fact that you literally cannot compete with whales or upgrade your gear to the highest tiers without opening up your wallet is repulsive. Blizzard truly is dead and I’m not even sure Phil can save this absolute dumpster fire.

    It's great until you get to the mid 40s, then you'll need to pay to get anything powerful enough to progress. You'll be kicked from any team that has payed and won't carry you!!!

    Shame on you blizzard, seems like paying one off for a game with a small subscription charge for seasons is yesterdays news. They want 1000s from you!!! unbelievable.

    It could be a great game but you can just pay to win. Blizzard promised that payments wouldn't affect gameplay too much but made a game where you never win pvp without donations, its just impossible to compete vs donaters.
    Also the game is forbidden for Belarus users without reasons, i can understand blocking Russia but what the hell Belarus people that are occupied by one famous citizen    It could be a great game but you can just pay to win. Blizzard promised that payments wouldn't affect gameplay too much but made a game where you never win pvp without donations, its just impossible to compete vs donaters.

    Leveling to 58-ish is fun. However, once you get to 60 and/or try any PvP content it's apparent that you need to spend money in order to advance or remain competitive. You have to spend real money to level your gems past a certain level. This isn't something you can grind, you have to PAY to do it. Echohack put out a video that discusses hidden caps on how much you can grind a day - theseLeveling to 58-ish is fun. The only reason the cap is there is to limit how much a F2P player could do. The grind doesn't become fun at 60, it becomes depressing because you know that every hour you put into this game is pointless unless you're going to spend money. All the "this game isn't P2W" chat from the devs before the game came out - now they're radio silent. Adding these caps that weren't in the beta and not communicating them to the player is deceiving. I'm a mobile game player, so some P2W aspects don't surprise me or make a game an instant "no". But this is a whole different level. These caps and paywalls are some of the craziest P2W scams I've ever seen in a mobile game.… Expand

    I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game.     It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
