    I am genuinely saddened that Blizzard, a company with a history of quality and friendship with its fans, has become a pile of **** and now produces embarrassing ****ty gacha games.
    Except for very few, most of these "critic reviews" are written by a bunch of Bobby Kotick ass-lickers.

    Diablo 3 with a worse control scheme, predatory monetization, and a ton of features that should have been patched into Diablo 3 to add value and garner good will with the franchise player base that has propped up this company for decades but were instead likely reserved for this heap. No thanks.

    The game itself would have been one of the best mobile games released ever, but the pay2win overload just kills any fun the game could have brought to gamers.

Not even worth the bother for the main story, as that's also ridiculously stretched out being miles wide, but barely an inch in-depth, and later on it takes ~6mins before hitting yet another level gate. Jesus Christ.
    It's a disgrace to gaming.

    Amazing how low a company can go, at the start Blizzard was the company that paved the way of what a good game looks like, but after Activision bought Bizz it went from innovation of fun straight to hell, with predatory greed this is what this game represent. would have been a really nice game if they removed all the **** and made it a sub instead like wow would have been much better and for kids

    As someone who was extremely fond of the Diablo franchise, this feels like a kick in the gut. The p2w monetization is extremely predatory even for the mobile market. This game was created for the sole purpose of sucking your wallet dry. I am not excited for D4 anymore if this is what the future holds. Shame on Blizzard for destroying one of the most beloved game franchises out there.

    I grew up loving Blizzard for their masterpiece of a franchise Starcraft. Now, I cannot muster the words to describe the abomination that Blizzard has become.     There is a good game hidden here but with the extreme P2W, forced multiplayer, you can't really pause the game, and a lot of the mechanics that come from the extreme P2W make the game totally worthless. I would have loved to pay for the game that could have been not the one we got. I got to level 42 but from around level 30, it was a pointless grind. Don't waste your time.

    As a casual gamer who played D1,2&3, I like the game. There's lots of people crying about the P2W aspect of the game, which is annoying but I'm probably never going to get to the stage where real end-level gear matters, so it doesn't really matter to met as a player. If I get to a stage where I genuinely feel hindered by the P2W crap, I'll change my review but at the moment, it's a funAs a casual gamer who played D1,2&3, I like the game.     Based on that the game could easily get a 6/10, being a decent, yet generic, phone MMO.

    But things completely crash down when you realize the absolutely insane monetization on the game. All this kind of games (usually korean MMOs) has an agressive P2W.

    But Diablo Immortal takes EVERY SINGLE PW2 mechanic and use every psychological bias to get the money out of you. It´s absolutely impossible keep progressing past certain power level without pushing money into it. And a lot of money.

    Keep in mind, this kind of game (ARPG) is heavily focused on your character progression as the main goal. Is not like you can play casually for free and have a nice free (or low-cost) experience, with just some ocassional purchase here and there. No.

    If you want to just "properly play" without getting stuck, regular purchases will be mandatory as part of the game itself. They Payed content is hardly embebed to the gameplay.

    Ofc, it uses lots of cheap tactics to get you into it. "Special premium offers" of negligible cost, to break the initial barrier of making a purchase, giving you just slighty less gems than needed for the most usual purchases, or trick you with the typical "Pay some more but get MUCH more pack", etc.

    Its a game designed for heavy whaling. Nothing really new, except for this time being an important and renowned company with a well-known IP who is pushing it, instead of some usual P2W publisher... And also, the fact they are going heavier than most already very agressive P2W games out there.    … Expand

    I didn't realize one game could be this bad and predatory. I can't believe it's supposed to be part of the same line of games that included two of my favorites, Diablo and Diablo II. Stay far away from this game. It is absolutely atrocious. Blizzard is officially no more.

    Immortal might have been a decent Diablo game. It is mechanically sound and technically competent.     Immortal might have been a decent Diablo game. It is mechanically sound and technically competent. It’s nice they got some of the old voice actors to return. But that’s also part of the problem in that they are banking on nostalgia. Unfortunately, any good is buried under some of the most excessive and egregious monetizations I have ever seen in a video game, mobile or otherwise. Yes, free-to-play games need some form of monetization. But Immortal’s is such that progress is heavily gated behind pay 2 win, especially in the end game. It speaks volumes that this game has 76 on Metacritic and that some outlets have noted they were playing builds with the monetization disabled.

    The monetization runs the gamut from loot boxes, expensive cosmetics ($25) skins, timers, and a gacha pity system. If that weren’t bad enough? You have marketing like “800%” value or timed “Deals” preying on FOMO or fear of missing out. 

The biggest issue is the legendary gems. You have rare and legendary crests that require running a dungeon to open them. Rare crests have a low chance to drop legendary gems but these are capped at 2/5 stars. Legendary crests yield 3-5 star gems. 

    1 star capped – 75%
    2 star capped – 20%
    2/5 star – 3.75%
    3/5 star – 1%
    4/5 star – 0.20%
    5/5 star – 0.05%

    As you can see the drop rate falls off significantly which means players are increasingly pushed towards purchasing upgrades with real money. The pity system supposedly allows for every 50 legendary crests to yield one guaranteed 5-star gem. The $100 bundle of currency only gets you 45 crests however which is yet another tactic of mobile like monetization.

    Some estimates have calculated that a “final” build in Diablo Immortal is between $40,000-$100,000 to fully max everything. This as you can see presents a problem where a free-to-play player will never keep pace with someone who buys everything. Especially where PVP is concerned.

    Diablo Immortal perhaps should have been called Diablo Immoral. If you truly want a Diablo experience? Pick up Diablo 2 Resurrected or Diablo 3. Especially if you have a Switch. You pay $60 and will ultimately get more for your money than any of Immoral’s insidious microtransactions will offer. Send this one back to the depths of hell from whence it came.    … Expand

    That‘s like to play a dumber version of Diablo 3 with Pay to Win. A game that nobody ever asked… The pc-port is absolutely bad and the controller ist not working right. I lost the last respect due to Blizzard. Have a nice day and play something else :)

    I have played quite a bit and spent some money on the game, battle pass included. I like how a lot of the game is setup and functions. It is however a major bummer that without a doubt I see myself leaving the game because I am not just going to dump endless sums of cash in so I can keep up with Legendary gems and the other P2W aspects.

    That makes me mad because I waited for this game so long... Blizzard if you read this do something to fix this mess. F2P players need more ability to level up and get good equipment. I am not even F2P i'd happily spend for the battle pass every month and maybe a small purchase outside of that and be content. There needs to be something done to bridge the gap. F2P and non-whale accounts need the ability to bridge the power gap. Right now it is too far off we have all seen the hilarious videos online about how much you need to spend in order to get some of this stuff... BLIZZARD you CANNOT justify that no matter how much you try....

    In short, if you havent started playing this game, DONT do it. I intend to finish out the first month of gameplay and see where the state of things currently are. If Blizzard has not at least acknowledged these issues by then, I sadly probably will be leaving the game.    … Expand

    I'm bothered by the bland story of the world's destruction, which was vehemently influenced by the online nature and spirit of the game or the inability to change the camera. The game looks and runs very well, and you can also adjust the graphics settings on more powerful devices. I'd leave the disdain for the online elements of Diablo Immortal to the eternally doubting and overlooking, because just as you can recognize a good poem, you can recognize a fundamentally good game.     It is undeniable that Diablo Immortal's monetization system has problems and makes the more advanced stages of the adventure unpleasant, but the fact remains that the Blizzard title has brought one of the best experiences in the action RPG field to the mobile market, and it really is difficult to find on the App Store and Google Play Store another free to play with such high production values. Diablo Immortal is an excellent pastime for those who want to complete the long cooperative campaign and, above all, could represent the perfect entry point for those who have never approached the series: even without putting their wallet in, in fact, it remains a pleasant adventure to live while waiting for the fourth chapter to make its debut on the shelves.
