In the sea of generic collect-a-thon shovelware platformers available for the Game Boy Advance, Rare has created something completely unique, charming, and fun overall.
-
A great little game. It's original and funny, and although it is repetitive it packs enough challenge to keep you entertained long after you've nabbed the final piece of booty.
-
And the best part of all -- you won't have to go eBaying for a Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer to play it.
-
A simple, unassuming, and hard-to-dislike platformer...It's light on substance but high on charm - a creative spin on the generic. [May 2004, p.78]
-
With horrible European jokes and a weird storyline, the superb platforming elements in Sabre Wulf greatly make up for the few flaws in this game.
-
The game can be finished in a handful of hours if beating the lairs is all that is attempted, but there are a huge amount of subsidiary side tasks and gold treasure acquisition to complete otherwise. All in all, a polished game that deserves a delve to see if it appeals to you or not.
-
games(TM)Okay, so it's hard to knock the presentation... but when the game's this bland and has virtually no replay value, it hardly seems worth bothering. [Apr 2004, p.114]
