This game from xseed is very well done. To begin this is an anime style game with harem elements, Think Conception II in terms of character interaction. But where this one does different is the playthrough, Turns are very fast tactical and the art is very well done. Lord of magna is in general terms a good take in a jrpg for the 3ds. I enjoyed the 20+ hours of story the game brought. It's fun in a way that the mysteries if the game keep you excited. The combat in general is very thoughtful and I enjoyed every step of the way. I wish they had given more characters customization but u can surely live without. I recommend this to any jrpg or anime lover!

Lord of Magna is underrated. It's fun game and the gameplay is enjoyable. Most of the time you can choose your best 4 characters(with different radius/dmg) for the fight. The game is mainly about positioning your characters to focus on one specific ennemi or do splash damage on minions depend of your strategy. If you like turn-based strategy RPG, I highly recommend this game.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is a wonderful SRPG for the Nintendo 3DS. I did not know much about this game when I purchased it, but had read a lot of great reviews about Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven and decided to go with my gut instinct, and purchase this wonderful game. The first thing I noticed immediately after I started playing Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven was the unique graphical style of the characters, and especially the graphical styles of the Maidens(if you decide to purchase this game for your 3DS, the Maidens are known by another name but that is all I will say so I do not ruin the plot of this game) and I have to note that Charlotte(the first Maiden you encounter) has the best graphical style in my opinion. After noticing the unique graphical style that is present in Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven, I started to dive into the game and fell in love with the uniqueness of the strategy aspect of Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven. The best way to describe how the strategy system works in Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is to apply what you already know about strategic role playing games, but add this simple unique twist, when you attack with one of the four characters you can use during a battle(Luchs is always a part of the team, so you can choose three Maidens to bring along with you for the battle when at least three become available), attack the enemies as if they are bowling pins. It is one fantastic twist for an SRPG, and I highly recommend purchasing Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven. Expand

I thought I should share my my views on this, as someone who mainly purchased this game to follow the developers of Rune Factory in their next project. (Though I'm rather late to the party, I had no idea this game was out yet.)

I thought I should share my my views on this, as someone who mainly purchased this game to follow the developers of Rune Factory in their next project. (Though I'm rather late to the party, I had no idea this game was out yet.)

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven isn't one of those high budget 3DS games. It doesn't share the complexity of Rune Factory, rather the opposite, this game seems to be aimed at simplicity.

The combat style is based on cones of attack, the element wheel for what attacks are strong against certain enemies, and lots of little stats that the game doesn't really go out of it's way to explain to you. It's almost as simple as it possibly could be. This is fine on the lowest difficulty, but on higher ones, you find yourself just getting bored of attack spongey enemies that are more time consuming than challenging to fight. That's the combat system in a nutshell.

The story, without trying to spoil anything, is rather stereotypical. It's not overly thought out, there's no surprising twists or flashy events, it's just enough to hold up everything in the world. Enough to explain the girls origins, the villains motives, the main characters story, etc. It's the bare minimum a story could be.

The characters and the art are probably the only things that carry this game.
The portrait art, looking very similar to what you'd find in Rune Factory games, is very visually appealing. It's very detailed, and each character even has one animated portrait each which looks rather nice. The same goes with the CG's. While rather rare, they are very nice looking for a 3DS game. There are also a few rare animated scenes, though they're rather short.
The characters themselves are quite charming. While there are a lot of the typical stereotypes in terms of personality, the characters are brought to life rather well, and they're endearing enough that your motivation for playing the game will most likely be to see their progression as the story marches on.

The art team assigned to this project is qualified for much better things if I to be honest. I hope Marvelous AQL realize the talent they have on their hands here, and put them on more worthwhile projects in the future. I'd very much like to see more from them.

Buen juego, con una historia interesante pero con un nivel demasiado fácil que no supondrá demasiado reto terminar el juego.

    Lord of Magna's not a bad game, it just feels unfinished. [Issue #16 – July/August 2015, p.72]

Uninteresting, shallow story paired with a combat system that was supposed to be tactical but really isn’t. [09/2015, p.69]
