Jun 8, 2015Lord of Magna is pure comfort gaming. It wont dazzle you with its production values, nor will it break your mind over its philosophy or test your skills at JRPGs with its difficulty. Instead, just like the hero's obsession with adopting new people into his ever-growing "family," this is a game that you'll develop a deep and personal attachment to, because it was built with a purity of intention that is so rare these days, and tugs on the heart strings in just the right way.

Jul 17, 2015If you're an RPG fan looking for a quietly charming tale to tuck into, you'll have a great time in Maiden Heaven.
-
Jul 17, 2015It's a little tropey, and it could've been better balanced, but Lord of Magna is a surprisingly competent SRPG that exceeded my expectations.
-
Jul 2, 2015Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is one delightful gem of the 3DS eShop catalog. Even if it might take a while to settle in and its amounts of text may be a bit too much for some players, it rewards everyone with an enveloping plot and very well implemented character developments.
-
Jun 23, 2015Lord of Magna feels a bit incomplete and quite short, but it's a lot of fun thanks to charming battles, cute visuals and enjoyable characters.
-
Nintendo Force MagazineSep 30, 2015Lord of Magna's not a bad game, it just feels unfinished. [Issue #16 – July/August 2015, p.72]
-
Jun 29, 2015Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is a quality, albeit quirky, JRPG. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and doesn’t dabble too much in the story department.
-
Jun 20, 2015Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is a good, harmless game, but, at the same time, it's something you've played before.
-
Jun 5, 2015We're thrilled that Lord Of Magna: Maiden Heaven made its way West. It's a delightful distraction with great combat and characters that makes up for a few flaws with its earnest sense of fun.
-
Jun 4, 2015What you do get is a rough but loveable action RPG and a reminder: For the love of Trixie, SAVE OFTEN.
-
Jun 2, 2015I enjoyed my time with Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven, despite the fact that it felt a tad unfinished at times. The combat system is fast-paced, the cast is likable, and the animation style looks excellent on Nintendo's newest portable.
-
Jul 10, 2015Lord of Magna has all the ingredients for a fun and different strategy RPG but its inconsistent pacing, predictable battles and lacklustre customization options hold it back from being anything more than a pretty average game.
-
Jul 13, 2015It clearly has its flaws, and pretty standout ones at that, and the overall atmosphere of the game is a bit too far into the cliché area of the JRPG genre, and yet, it has its moments where it shines.
-
CD-ActionSep 18, 2015Uninteresting, shallow story paired with a combat system that was supposed to be tactical but really isn’t. [09/2015, p.69]
-
Sep 20, 2015It represents a lot of the things that a wrong with the videogames industry and we as consumers shouldn’t stand for it.
-
Jun 24, 2015I felt no real desire to spend any more time in Lord of Magna, and will likely forget most of what I experienced in a few months. While it's not quite at the level to warrant George Carlin's famous comparison to the act of viewing a golf game, getting anywhere near that area is not an accomplishment a developer should ever want.
