But where would the Superstars of today be without the Superstars of yesteryear? The Big Cat Ernie Ladd was not only a pioneer in wrestling, he was Bo Jackson when Bo didn't know diddly. There was a stretch when Ernie played football and wrestled at the same time. Whether it was in football or wrestling, at 6'9" and over 300 pounds, not many men could compete with The Big Cat. Ernie's football travels brought him to Houston for one season before closing his career off with the Kansas City Chiefs. When his football career came to an end, he didn't walk out, he shifted his attention to the squared circle. It was something few athletes attempted, let alone a black athlete. In the 70s, there weren't many African Americans that took part in the squared circle but that didn't stop the Big Cat. Despite the fact that wrestling promoters were no different than football coaches, that didn't stop him. Ernie was always a step ahead; he refused to wrestle unless he was paid up front because as the main event night in and night out, he knew the audience was there to see him. Now, nearly 20 years after Ernie last stepped foot in the WWE ring, here he is on Confidential. Expand
