    The producers, Bill Pruitt and Studio Lambert made a bad decision to use the people and place they did. Mike Boutin is a certified nutjob who moved to his wife's old neighborhood after years as a hippie-hating redneck logger/trucker where he rents 9 acres and plays a pot grower on TV His wife and whoever they con off Facebook to come live in sub-standard housing actually grow and processThe producers, Bill Pruitt and Studio Lambert made a bad decision to use the people and place they did.     Weed Country makes it clear there’s still a lot of Wild West in the marijuana biz--and a whole lot of conversation needed to sort it out.

    Most of Weed Country is quite good, but when it comes to Mike Boutin, the producers made the bad decision to make it all more dramatic than it actually is.

    The premiere hour balances perspectives pretty well--no loopy hippies, no redneck cops, no (apparently) cutthroat gangsters.
