Another show infected by the "agenda" and "the message". Removed from my list and stopped watching around episode 4 when the "parents" of a schoolboy appeared on screen...

Beyond Catherine Zeta-Jones, who is fantastic, the casting is a joke. The lead, Ortega, is highly overrated and a cheap Hispanic knockoff of Ricci’s Wednesday. It really feels like I’m wanted to like her more than I actually do. I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that I’ve seen better acting in high school plays. The writing and general plot don’t save this from the acting either because they’re both steaming piles. Had high hopes, especially with all the praise and hype, but was disappointed. Expand

This has to be the biggest pile of garbage Netflix released in years. No likable characters, mind numbingly dull dialogue (Have the writers ever met a teenager? Or a person?), uninspired story and bad writing and CGI that looks like it was made on a potato powered calculator. This has failed to capture the magic and essence of the Addams Family on every level and I truly hope it doesn’t get reviewed for season 2. Expand

This is not an Addams family show; it plays like a campy preteen romance novel mashed together with a Tumblr-level Harry Potter fanfiction, thinly covered in an Addams family coat of paint. Woke leftist one-liners are, of course, peppered throughout the episodes. Ham-fisted "strong women" and "dumb boys & evil patriarchy" sentiment galore. Wednesday Addams adores violence, death and the macabre, yet makes a quip about how she detests the Pilgrims for "mass genocide". A perfect example of the shallow, mindless writing and how these long-loved characters have been contorted into shells of themselves in a pathetic attempt to score with the mass Hollywood consumer type. The first episode is quite good. Even though it hints at whats coming after it with one word uttered in it: Patriarchy.
Yes, it turns into a woke crapshow after episode 1. You get the full load: Racist bad guys, gay reeducation camps, Mary Sues, dumb males, no Asians at all, parents are bad, minors who are sexualized, same gender parents, elitist dialogue (no, not only from Wednesday - but only from females), every woke-invented and redefined term ever is used, perverted original characters and a massive amount of stereotypes out of a racist mind.

Wednesday isnt acting like Wednesday at all (except maybe in the first episode) and the Addams arent the Addams either. The plot makes no sense, and where it does its easily predicted. The dialogue is cringe and childish. Casting is atrocious (and no, not Gomez, but Fester and Lurch especially), other characters are just rehashes from other random teen shows, and so is the story and the sets (Tolkiens famous quote about evil comes to mind). Especially Harry Potter movies and Disney teen shows have been used as "template" a lot.

Now I have to watch the old series and the movies again, to get this utter garbage out of my mind.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand
