This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The series starts really pulling your leg. For now reason at all Yennefer has been forgiven for all she did in season two, Ciri just went over it. Geralt took more or less two episodes to forgive Yennefer. The first 5 episodes practically exclude, episode by episode, Geralt and becomes Yennefer/Ciri centric, why? For what reason the Witcher series is all but about the Witcher? Is there some type of reason for this? Why does this TV series go so much off the rails compared to the original books? The story isn't even slightly similar to the games. Even the numerous fans of the book and games are shouting out to the producers asking, at this point, to terminate this horror of, well whatever you want to say (or think).… Expand

Yes, you can tell he played the games, but i would question he read the books, because he tries to portray the game Geralt with his stoic badassery, but gives no attempt to show off Geralt´s wit and intelligence, which is understandable because like I said, the dialogues are pure garbage. I dont think the writers have the capacity to come up with witty or intelligent lines to begin with, so I dont blame only Cavill for that. However Geralt has never been a character defined primarily by his excellent swordsmanship or his stoic demeanor as the games or the show would have you believe. The show is filled with out of place diversity, men bashing, all the queens and authorities are black or female, its progressive garbage of first order. The audio and visuals are nice for a tv production, netflix has the money if not the talent. Fight scenes are probably the only thing I actually enjoyed. You can tell lot of time and thought have been given to the choreography, but thats where the positives start and end. The show has no regards for the slavic roots of the material and the lore is never implemented in any but the most basic and surface level way. This isnt the witcher, its progressive americanised generic fantasy for politically correct audience that took the names and tropes from the witcher and left the balls out.… Expand

How they casted Triss is unforgivable. There are two major problems. The boredom and lack of monster hunting and the forced diversity is pathetic. It pulls you out of the world. I was watching this with my wife. I'm a fan of books and games, she never read or played those. During the watching I was thinking - OMG, what **** is this? Terrible.

The casting is all wrong. Except Cavill, who is actually a really good actor and gives it all, but even that he's kind of too big for Geralt. The rest of the casting is downright awful. Ciri is good fit and Yenn isn't that bad...Terrible.

What could've been a great show was brought down by SJW-forced inclusion, representation and diversity quota checklists, which were forced onto the casting. They should've stayed true to how the characters looked in the books. They should've stayed true to how the characters looked in the books. Yennefer is supposed to have pale white skin, not brown. They should've cast someone European looking. I'm so used to seeing her how she looks in the game and how she's described in the books, that I can't see her as a brown person, it's just not believable. The actress playing as Yennefer is talented and beautiful, but her look doesn't fit Yennefer. She's half Indian and that breaks immersion. I'm not unreasonable though, she could've played a Sorceress who was half Nordling and half Nilfgaard, or half Nordling and half Zerrikanian, she would've been perfect for a mixed race Sorceress, but she doesn't fit the role of Yennefer at all. I just don't see Yennefer when I look at her. The other characters also suffer from this forced inclusion, forced diversity, and forced representation, with no regard for canon. Before you think I'm racist. Hear me out. Imagine if you made Marvel's Luke Cage white. That would make no sense. That's the equivalent of making Yennefer brown. It completely breaks immersion and ruins any sense of believability. Once a character is established with certain physical features, you can't just change them, you sacrifice believability and immersion if you do that.

If this was a stage play, I wouldn't mind the characters looking so different, but this is supposed to be an accurate depiction of Witcher from the books, but it's no where near close, the poor casting destroyed immersion.

If any SJW's read this, PLEASE my dude, PLEASE stop. I'm begging you. I'm middle eastern. I'm considered brown, but I do not want your inclusion, representation and diversity nonsense. Keep that stuff away from me. You destroyed what could've been an amazing show. SJW's have no respect for canon and immersion, you people are obsessed with race instead of staying true to source material. All that matters to SJW's is using media as a conduit for social justice. I don't need to be represented on the screen, especially if it's going to disrespect the canon and change character appearances. That's only going to make people resent me for being brown.

I'm so pissed off at SJW's. What can I do? The progressives are ruining everything.

Except of henry cavil that is an outstanding actor, there is nothing good in these series. After season 1 the second was bad, the 3rd i really didnt undertand anything at all. Nothing is like the books or the game, and moreover nothing makes sense...

About The Witcher by Netflix

pros:
- No...OK, ok Henry Cavill read books, play games.

cons:
- It's all cheap, battles are terrible
- Trying to please as newcomers as well fans of books/games. Eventually makes shapeless nonsense

Hissrich cut off important stories, and events from book, but added unnecessary fictional storylines and characters and because of it the whole thing on the series lost all sense. Maybe if this series would have been released in 1995, and named some Henry Cavill: Warrior Prince , so, yes, it's worth it to 8/10. But it named The Witcher, and this name is only what The Witcher by Netflix has. Game of Thrones has many shortcomings (some actors, cut off some thing from book, etc), but first seasons it was on the right track. The Witcher by Netflix turned the wrong way in the beginning.

Amazon maybe you can to make a good fantasy series.

Devoid of skill, soul or intelligence. E.g. It sticks numerous accents into small villages which is jarring and inauthentic, though everyone is a variation of British. It does its usual feminist promotion but thumbs its nose at disability without even being aware. The CGI is crass. Even the score is bad. Bar Cavill himself, who at least looks the part, the whole thing is just awful. We’ll look back and call it cultural vandalism. У меня 4772 символа, но рецензию сайт не хочет публиковать рецензию, по причине того, что я якобы превысил лимит в 5 тысяч (хотя сам же мне показывают цифру в 4772). Всячески пытался разложить аргументировано недостатки экранизации, сравнивая ее с книгой (при том понимая, что кино-формат не книга и изменений не избежать). Но, судя по всему, не суждено... ставлю ноль балов. Почему, никогда не узнаете.

Сравним: в сериале, на Геральта находит какое то видение, в котором ни к месту действующей сюжетной линии, какая то муть про предназначение... 1) исходя из видения, ведьмак отправляется на защиту мудаковатого Стрегобора (который уж точно не положительный персонаж, что бы за него заступиться), вместо желания предотвратить резню невинных жителей; 2) Не заранее, а лишь по прибытию понимает, что есть одна заложница (Марилька); 3) В качестве ультиматума, Ренфри использовали лишь одного заложника (Марильку), вместо угрозы вырезать целую площадь; 4) Далее, Ренфри что то мимолетно крякает про то, что будет резать всех подряд до тех пор, пока Стрегобор не выйдет на площадь. И это уже в момент, когда от банды Ренфри осталась одна Ренфри, а они сами сошлись в драке. Почувствуйте разницу – это все сильно девальвирует историю! История и диалоги упразднены до невозможного, в силу чего не успеваешь проникнуться персонажами и вставшей моральной дилеммой по каждую сторону их личности, про сложность предстоящего выбора... Цитата про: "большее, меньшее, среднее зло..." - здесь скорее в качестве мимолетной отсылки, нежели философии по теме. В ходе диалогов тема слабо развивается, от чего не работает в синергии с повествованием. Слишком сумбурно получилось. Этой истории (про мясника из Блавикена) реально нужна целая серия, что бы раскрыться. И никак не половина. И так почти во всех сюжетных линиях. Я бы расписал подробнее по первой серии, да количество символов очень ограничено для обзора. Вообще многое что хотелось указать, но ограничение по символам не позволяет. Например, не хватает символов, что бы расписать, что я к изменениям при адаптации отношусь с пониманием (а порой даже одобряю). Например: Игры Престолов; первые 3 части Обителя Зла; Игры по ведьмаку от CD Projekt RED; т.д. Сериал от Нетфликс – не тот случай.… Expand

Хотите пропагандировать толерантность, ок я не против, но придумайте что-то новое, оригинальные сюжеты, а не просто менять расу уже существующих персонажей. The show may be not perfect in every detail (e.g. Nilfgaard armor, or actress that plays Triss Merrygold), but it is definitely a wonderful recreation of Anrzej Sapkowski's books. Henry Cavill does not play Gwralt - he is Geralt! I can't imagine now anyone, who would be a better actor for that role. Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan make great Yennefer and Ciri as well! Before The Witcher came out, I was afraid that Joey Batey would be a bad Jaskier, but surprisingly he is my second favorite! TL/DR: Show has it's flaws, but it is a must-watch!… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I haven't read any of the books. I played a couple hours of Witcher 3. So to me this show is a bit confusing at times. It's entertaining though. I think Superman does a good job playing the Witcher overall. Yennefer is the best character by far at this point. She is much better then I thought she was going to be. Her storyline is interesting. The monster fights in this show are cool. A couple of the fight scenes felt realistic and are brutal. The only thing that took me out of this show was some of the forced feminist bs.. To start this show has a Queen in charge who is Queen Calanthe. She is the worst character in the show by far. At the beginning they show her in battle. Sorry but it's laughable that a old Queen is actually fighting. She does jump out a window and kills herself so. Unfortunately they show her in a flashback scene fighting again... This flashback scene in episode 4 about Pavetta was so confusing to me. I had to go on YouTube and figure out what was happening. This will confuse people who haven't read the books or played the games. It's the origin story on how Ciri became Geralts child of surprise, Pavetta is in love with a knight who is cursed and causes him to look like a hedgehog.. This flashback scene is poorly set up for people like myself who don't know these characters. Episode 5 was great. It kind of reminded me of the show Supernatural. Episode 6 starts out kind of woke with these two black women Taia and Vaia. They kill a man trying to steal Geralts horse. They are Borch Three Jackdaws bodyguards or something. You can tell this show is ran by women lol Anyways he wants Geralt to join his team to hunt dragons. He agrees because Yennefer is also going with another team. Jackdaws and his two female bodyguards fall off a mountain on the way. But they return at the end of the episode. Jackdaws is in the form of a gold dragon. This was actually pretty cool. He knew Geralt would help protect them from the dragon hunt. This show is like a mix between Elder Scrolls,Supernatural and GOT. The relationship between Geralt and Yennefer is a strong point in this show. I like that Geralt tells her that she's important to him because his nights used to be restless but now he can sleep. She really makes him happy. Although I thought rest was one of his wishes from the previous episode. Episoďe 7 shows the full events of the end of episode 1. Episode 8 was good overall. Kind of reminded me of Harry Potter. But it might as well be called Yennefer. She is the best character and has the most screen time. Her **** were massive in episode 8. I'm not complaining about that. And her powers are cool. She used this fire attack and killed a tone of guys in ballsack armor. Ya the ballsack armor looks so bad.. This show has a extremely diverse cast. At times it does feel forced because it is. It's going to piss some people off. This is a show made by far left feminist. Can't I get away from this??? I'm really getting sick of it... I just watched Star Wars... You would think Hollywood would learn by now... Everything has to be woke and diverse. Even when it hurts the story and characters... I will say this show does have a couple good episodes. And some of the diverse characters are good. But it makes the show feel off at times. Mimi Ndiweni who plays Fringilla is a great example of this. She really felt out of place in the last episode. Bad casting job. It's not a great show. It's not terrible. To think that they said the show is based on the books. Lairs. They ruined it by Americanizing it. Everything about this show carries an unpleasant odor about it. Do not waste your time.

Плохо всё от подбора актеров до сценария. Нет кульминаций в сериале, смотреть просто не интересно. сюжет вообще не интригует. Ужасная склейка и монтаж. Всасные битвы и сражения.

Just the Scenes with Henry Caville are the only interesting things. I love it when titles of media are missleading.
