The show manages to handle the beginning of a transition to the way things used to be quite remarkably. This season feels a tad off, but it still continues to be amazing in character development, drama and god damn good action and gore

At other times, I have loved their willingness to slow down and let us get reacquainted with our favorites, such as Morgan's episode. The writers are firing on all cylinders, and you'd be foolish to bail on this now, with Negan's arrival imminent. I would like them to eliminate some of the lengthy pauses taken by actors, as this borders on the pretentious, but I wholeheartedly give this season a 10. Expand

I think the show has improved since the underwhelming season 4, season 6 started of pretty good but then as usual got worse and worse; but ever since the mid season finale things have gotten great, the character development, the acting, and the action.

Stop reviewing an entire season based off one fraction of it. After sixteen episodes of season six, The Walking Dead is finally finding its sure-footing again. My number one complaint of this show is the producers constantly walking away from the main story progression and always reliving a day from so many vantage points. That kind of style has a time and a place, but this show has beaten that angle so bad it makes the grisly-violent deaths of walkers look like a children's book. In the sixth season there is noticeably-less ADD in the filming and editing of the show, so you're able to chain watch a few episodes and feel like you've actually moved forward in time. To make things even better, there's a noticeable uptick in action. The stakes get higher and people die - people you might have thought had a real place on the show for the long-haul but apparently do not. It's the balance of living in a post-apocalyptic world and it will inevitably swing one way and end the story of a character you may/may-not have been invested in. But what makes this season a giant step in the right direction is the focus on what's going on outside of the walls of Alexandria. The season finale is gripping and a slow build to an aggressively-harsh episode end, offering an incredible hook into the seventh season of the show. I don't know if the folks upstairs started riding the writers and the producers, but TWD is getting some of its teeth back and, while they can still do better, there's much more to get excited about. I hope the seventh season continues this trend - it means a lot more happy fans, or at least a more happy me. Expand

I created an account just to give Season 6 a 10/10. The first episode was slow, but sometimes you have to have episodes like that to build the story. The second episode was SO good. To date, season 3 is still my favorite. However, this one is showing early potential and possibly may surpass said season. I waited until seeing episode 602 before chiming in. And that is definitely in my top TWD episodes thus far. Good pacing and fantastic epilogues are on point so far. It's early. But this is shaping in to a rock solid season!

This show has continuously caught my attention. So far this season the character development lacks the shine it used to have. But in reality, I don't care about the outside characters anymore. My concern that this season would not live up to others, which wasn't dispelled at all by the horrible summer of Fear the Walking Dead, was immediately proven unfounded. Some have wondered if living in Alexandria will make Rick and the gang soft and end the drama of living in a dystopia. Umm, emphatic no. The sheer scale of the opener was impressive and the use of black and white flashbacks to explain the basis for the zombie parade was effective. The newly released horde will clearly wreak all kinds of fresh havoc on the town in the upcoming season and give the original townsfolk of Alexandria the chance to prove they should still be alive in this new world. However even with it's returning flaws the also returning strengths were enough to keep me invested yet again.

It's apocalypse can still excite fans even in a time where zombies are literally everywhere. The season takes part in a particularly exciting time in the comics. The world these characters know is starting to get much bigger. New allies and threats arrive and some fantastic moments from the comics are recreated. It's just a shame they botched one of the biggest ones.

That finale really left me with a sour taste in my mouth. While I enjoyed the overall season that copout cliffhanger makes me question how much longer the show will keep me invested. Just that one moment has made me question my future with this series. They neutered one of the most powerful moments from the comics.

Despite that issue I can't fault the season as a whole too much. Yes the occasional idiotic moments the show has become sadly known for are still present. Every now and then these hardened survivors just act like idiots. But when all is said and done season 6 kept me invested and entertained once again. While it goes out on one of the shows lowest moments everything that lead up to it is still going to be a treat for viewers.

Was ist passiert?!

    Meine Punkteskala
    - Besser als Staffel 5! Nur setzt die 6. Staffel zu sehr auf Cliffhanger. - 71/100 Punkte(n)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The more I watch this show the more it occurs to me that it is entertaining in spite of the writing rather than because of it. The premise of The Walking Dead means that, even at its worst, there will always be a good number of entertaining episodes and scenes in every season but the way the writers continually drag out storylines by adding pointless plot strands is even more evident during this sixth season and can make for a frustrating viewing experience at times. Glenn’s fake ‘death’ was also a completely unnecessary piece of audience manipulation and the ridiculous decision to end on a cliff-hanger really robs one of the comics most shocking scenes of it impact.

There is still enough here to keep me watching but for the love of God please improve the writing!
