The Rain‘s greatest strength might be its clever hand with doling out information. If post-apocalyptic fiction has become too rote and familiar over the last decade, a good mystery yarn never loses its appeal, and The Rain spins mysteries well, dropping reveals and intriguing tidbits with impeccable timing. That quality makes The Rain a great binge show.

Once you get over the ludicrousness of a killer virus whose host is the weather, The Rain is a taut, tense thriller. The first Danish original series to come from Netflix, it’s gratifyingly fast-paced and unfailingly dark.

Though Netflix’s latest binge-a-thon doesn’t always handle the logistics of that situation in a completely convincing way, its premise provides a sturdy backdrop for the suspenseful story of a girl striving to protect her younger brother at all costs.

Despite some shaky attempts to build a convincing world, The Rain has much in common with “The Walking Dead.”

Clichéd tropes are OK but the panicky teenager & moronic younger brother combo makes you want them to be killed off because they are just so freaking annoying! scenes became painfully predictable. o the annoying kid wouldnt buckle his seat belt, guess what happens next. o the daughter made eye contact with the trucker, guess what happens next. o the daughter and son hear someone knocking on the door, guess what happens next.

Not even 10minutes into the show and the characters start whining instead of just listening to a smarter character. But obviously there would be no plot if they didn't go with the whiny brats whining all the time, falling for open book traps through out the show in a future setting where they have holographic displays. Humans dont become dumb every generation. Humans are evolving. This show is a disgrace to Humans. Obvious plot and Dumb kids who get super smart in an instant to change the plot. dont bother watching. Its a disgrace to "German Technology" Full Review »
