Sep 3, 2022Absolute clown show. Horrible writing. Horrible acting. This is not LOTR. Absolute bastardization. End of story.

Sep 3, 2022Garbage, made up story, boring and slow. Don’t believe the critics, this show is trash…
-
Sep 3, 2022No point there is no sense in this series! Seriously nothing special. Tv show that has to be the best that audience have ever seen is actually the shame itself. Tolkiens world is destroyed. And main question why? Why? Why? Why did they do that? No one knows! That is a serious mystery. If u care about Tolkiens world please don't watch this nonsense. Period! period! period!
-
Sep 3, 2022Lo mismo de siempre inclusión forzada y ningún respeto por Tolkien lástima que Amazon haya gastado tanto dinero en algo que no está al nivel.
-
Sep 3, 2022Good start to a show. There's still a lot of world-building, but it works now. I look forward to what's going to come next.
-
Sep 3, 2022An attempt of making a great TV show made by people who obviously have no idea how to do that. Attempts at epic dialogues which just sound cringe, massive plot holes, ridiculous character decisions, boring costumes, bad writing all over the place. The landscape shots are nice, the music is great, but that's about it. It feels like they didn't even try to make this a good show.
-
Sep 3, 2022Poorly written Ill-conceived plot. A lack of interesting story or story development. Boring scenes that drag on without reason. Scenes that jump around and feel incongruous. Music doesn't fit what is on screen, swelling to denote importance while something mundane is being shown on screen. Unlikable protagonist.verly little upside to watching. I do not recommend.

Sep 3, 2022After an extremely unpromising promo phase and utter disgusting trailers lowering expectations to an absolute minimum I am deeply disappointed by the way the elves as well as the dwarves are represented. The story itself is boring and pointless and almost makes me vomit. This series already is a clusterfck after one and a quarter episodes and should never have been made! I will go and cry now :)
-
Sep 3, 2022The acting is terrible other than the black elf. The writing is also terrible.
-
Sep 3, 2022If you like high fantasy, this show is great so far. If you liked the movies, you’ll likely appreciate this series.
-
Sep 3, 2022Rings of Power is not Tolkien. It is the sacrifice of an intellectual property on the alter of diversity, inclusion, and equity (DIE). It is a vandalism, with bad writing.
-
Sep 3, 2022The casting here is awful. You know very well what I mean. I couldn't enjoy any of this because so many of the actors just didn't look like they belonged there. The whole show is just meh. If you hate white people then it might appeal to you, but otherwise it's best avoided.
-
Sep 3, 2022How they managed to make this show less interesting, less entertaining, than a made with spare change piece of fan fiction that you could pick up for free on a quick internet search is, quite frankly, amazoning. And why would you watch this over a re-watch of any one of the excellent movies? You Just wouldn't.
-
Sep 3, 2022Good cgi! The acting and actors leave much to be desired. I felt bored after 30 minutes. The elves with short hair and velour capes soured me. Hopefully Amazon takes note and makes a decent second season.
-
Sep 3, 2022Basically they perverted the lore so they could pump the show with woke ideology. If you enjoy watching tolkiens fantasy world through a radical left lens with a mary sue main character then you might enjoy but if you don't see the world through that lens you will hate it.
-
Sep 3, 2022Not worth wasting your time watching more woke trash like this show.
Another Karen Sue protagonist who’s just an unlikeable b!tch.
Watch the Lord of the Rings movies instead. -
Sep 3, 2022
-
Sep 3, 2022where is the lore, this is not Galadriel in Tolkien book or P.J movie, this is Marie Sue and Amazon change all the lore for overwhelming feminism and diversity , yeah, that is insult Tolkien work

Sep 3, 2022Amazing! I liked the character, the setting, the landscapes were great, the transition of the map to move from one area to another. Galadriel is cool, Elrond is incredible, Durin and Disa were too cool, the Harfoots, especially Nori was amazing. I can’t wait for more episodes and seasons
-
Sep 3, 2022Looks terrible. No plot. Bad acting. Costumes look like they are off the shelf from Hobby Lobby.

Sep 3, 2022Garbage serial
They think it's enough to call on some other creators great name and throw $$ and everyone will buy your crap. If this will be some other NOT LotR serial not pretending to be Tolkien work serial it will be probably 4/10 but as it dare to call itself Lord of the Rings and only thing it have is political correctness it don't deserve even 1/10. -

Sep 3, 2022I thought it couldn't get any worse than The Wheel of Time. I was wrong. Amazon Prime's the Rings of Power is poorly written, decently edited, cheap effects and the performances are... well; I shouldn't use that kind of language in public. Save yourself the irritation and watch literally anything else. Except for TWOT. That's exceedingly awful too.

Sep 3, 2022Fresh and great narration, unfurnately other viewers will compare it imediately with the movies, but just like the first movie of the lord of the rings, it will start telling you the story and allocating all the pieces before start playing the game. Awesome escenography, good acting, and very focused on all the little details.
-
Sep 3, 2022I will update my few view as the season progresses. I was hoping this was going to be a good show but so far with the first two episodes, I am very disappointed. It feels hollow, the writing is bad, it was assembled poorly and it isn’t compelling whatsoever. On top of this, Amazon is censoring the honest ratings both on IMDB and on Amazon itself. It was actually very hard to keep watching.

Sep 3, 2022This was a joke, right? But really can we get a good show? I tapped out halfway thru the 2nd episode
-
Sep 3, 2022The story is boring and pacing is terrible I literally had to take a break and get a coffee so I would not fall asleep during the first episode and then just turned off the second episode 10min in and finished the rest this morning
-
Sep 3, 2022I don't get the negative reviews, the first 2 episodes were great. I liked House of the Dragon, but this show is superior to every fantasy show out there (Wheel of time, GOT, shadow and bone, etc). One show to rule them all.

-
Sep 3, 2022The series is not faithfull to Tolkien so instead of making something new the twist and subverted everthing Tolkien created. Even if you forget that it is based on Tolkiens work it is fundamentally still a badly written show. The only positive thing is that it sometimes looks nice. But it's definitely not worth watching and is in fact very boring to watch.

Sep 3, 2022Boring, badly written, woke, activism. Don't bother w/ this trash. Do yourself a favor if you really want to dive back into Middle Earth, just re-watch the Jackson's Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Sep 3, 2022well ... everything is already said.. i can't believe how they could choose this cast and write this **** i think there is a very big issue in amazon headquarters... every project, games or tv shows, are always catastrophes. only good to enslave their workers i guess

Sep 3, 2022Visually stunning but content is weak. The dialogue is embarrassing and the characters unlikeable. The portrayal of Galadriel as an unconvincing warrior elf is so far removed from the angelic, mysterious character in Tolkiens ream. Dreadful.
-
-
Sep 3, 2022Such a dull disappointment. Maybe they should have put in the work to develop their own new world with their own new stories instead of throwing a bunch of money around to leach off of another's work.
-
Sep 3, 2022Yeah idk man, it's not as bad as everyone's making it out to be... but it's also not great. The visuals are stunning and the writing is decent so far albeit somewhat boring, I'm sure it'll pick up in the coming episodes.
Also what's this about it being "too woke"??? Unless I missed something, it seemed perfectly normal. --------Marvels She-Hulk, now THAT is "woke" lol -
Sep 3, 2022As a Tolkien fan this is quite frankly insulting. I just can't understand how on earth Amazon could release something like this. It is truly pathetic. Oh and they are also deleting bad reviews in other sites like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes. Shameless
-
Sep 3, 2022I tried to ignore the hate but I can't give it a better rating based on the content. Look the show is a 6 but keeping in mind the reach content is based on and the sum invested this dose not deserve better than 1. Sorry ...
-
Sep 3, 2022Very generic. Boring. Take out the LOTR name and nobody would be talking about it.

Sep 3, 2022For one of the most expensive shows it’s baffling to me on where the money went. Some of the **** are amazing though. The dialogue is extremely painful. Just tons of exposition. The main lead is a Mary Sue and just a bore
-

-
Sep 3, 2022It's not that the show is bad and probably would've been quite alright if it had been presented as a new IP. The problem here is the absolutely sacrilege way they've handled the established lore of Tolkien's world. Amazon have not shown any respect for what Tolkien created and only see his work as a cash grab from his fan base.
-
Sep 3, 2022A huge misfire for the Lord of the Rings brand and name. Poor story & acting make this the bloated production impossible to watch. It also breaks the world created by the books.
-
Sep 3, 2022Horrible take on the Tolkien universe. The writing and character design is terrible. Cinematography and sound are good enough to deserve some recognition. However, they are not enough to overcome the boring and poorly acted script.
-
Sep 3, 2022I dont know what to say, and i now realized that what some guy told me that Facebook and Twitter is full of bots is right! and in this case tons of bots are complementing how good this show is, and oh my god.. Its an abomination, the guys in charge should honestly be charged for something

Sep 3, 2022This didn't interest me and I didn't finish it. Lots of BLM politics and diversity being forced into places where it doesn't belong.
-
Sep 3, 2022Slow, filled with unnecessary content, lacks soul and wit and drifts too far away from the original story. I keep wondering why tv writers believe they can write better than the original authors.

Sep 3, 2022Storytelling in first 2 episode is so weak and confusing.
The only positive point of the series is its gorgeous visual effects. -
Sep 3, 2022Those who made this series just hate Tolkien, his books and the original trilogy created by Peter Jackson. "Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made".

Sep 3, 2022This is not LOTR!! Amazon took the name to force woke indoctrination, don’t waste your time watching this, this es the most expensive woke garbage ever made
-
Sep 3, 2022Beautiful visuals but an empty show. The dialogue, pacing and plot are particularly bland in this
-
Sep 3, 2022I found it to be very slow. I wanted more action. Galadriel is so angry, she seemed almost ethereal in the PJ movies but here she seems angry and not at all otherworldly. Really liked the dwarves though. Also the elves just felt like humans. I enjoyed house of the dragon a lot more.

Adar’s début drips with signifiers. ... When Adar informs Arondir in Episode 4 that he has been told many lies, some that “run so deep even the rocks and roads now believe them,” it is still a thrill. Tolkien succeeded in creating a mythic world, one that has now grown vast enough through acts of typological repetition and imitation to conquer television, too.
-
With war brewing and the forging of the rings seemingly still far off, the first half of The Rings of Power’s first season constitutes little more than stage-setting for the struggle to come. Given the lack of quests and central commanding figures, it often makes for less-than-gripping drama. However, given that there are four more seasons already planned, and potentially dozens of new characters to be introduced, the slow and throat-clearing build is possibly a good sign.
-
The Rings of Power is a reminder of what drew many of us to epic fantasy in the first place: wonder. ... This series set in an ancient realm displays one dazzling and painterly landscape after another. Power also doesn't skimp on action. [12 - 25 Sep 2022, p.10]
