This type of show is easy, undemanding entertainment that doesn't push any boundaries or win important awards. Its the show with a familiar cast of characters with endearingly odd habits to distinguish them because although the faces may change they can be almost interchangeable with characters from similar shows: The muscle, the brains, the nerd and the troublemaker are standard archetypes.
There are some exceptions, shows that transcend their packaging and become more: Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the best example, but such shows are rare.
Its great that shows like this are still made, as TV trends increasingly toward adult, edgy and violent fare.
Verdict: Harmless fun for the family. It will be renewed.

The Librarians is Warehouse 13 meets Eureka, meets Zero Hour, in a nutshell. If those references don't mean anything to you, The Librarians is an extremely quirky show that in no way takes it self seriously other than the fact that its completely serious. In other words, if The Librarians wants to make fairy tail characters come to life or have character talking to inanimate objects in strange voices, they will. If you've ever seen any of the Librarian movies, they are sort of like Indian Jones, only ... stupid. The Librarians is a fun show with a equally ... fun cast of characters and the occasional Noah Wyle. If you like mystery, adventure and humor, this is the show for you. If however you can't stand constant somewhat obnoxious wisecracking and ridiculous situations, maybe you ought to skip this one. Let it also be said that the cast includes Lindy Booth, a super cutie :3 Expand

Big fan of the 3 Librarian movie's and do like the show but without Noah Wyle as the Librarian just don't see the show making it. The creator's of this show should have never allowed there to be a different Librarian.....No Noah, no show, sorry TNT but you already bit the shark

I would sit back and laugh if it wasn't so bad. When I get that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomacht, I know something's wrong (no smart remarks there). The other 3 characters are probably doing the best they can with the scripts they are given. Please please - raise the humor level above a 12-year old level. So much promise in the concept. Expand

I struggled to like this for the first 4 episodes, it felt like a children's version of Warehouse 13. Noah's character is very annoying.

It slowly got better as the series it got better.

This is over-the-top. And extremely fun. And here’s hoping Wyle recurs often.

If you miss Warehouse 13, or liked Friday the 13th: The Series, or Tia Carrere in The Relic Hunter, then The Librarians is worth a visit.

The Librarians lacks the fun of the first film--seeing Flynn learn to be an adventurer --and feels predictable and rote.
