I will keep this short and sweet without spoilers, 1. Character Development was rushed and ruined

3. the writing much like the last of us Part 2 (the game) suffers from poor pacing and writing.

honestly the episodes before were written better and had solid acting in it however this episode you could tell was shoved in where even the actors didn't have their hearts put into it. Since the 2nd last of us game came out it feels as if anything to do with the franchise besides the first game is 2 steps backward, poor writing, bad judgement calls on what people are wanting, changing characters for no good reason even sometimes making them more foolish to push the plot forward. Here's hoping they bring the writing and pacing back up to par at the very least otherwise i don't think the rest of the series will be worth watching, which is unfortunate because in the first 2 episodes you could feel the love they put into it (except some characters changed for no reason and with no sense to it *cough*joelsdaughter*cough*) i had high hopes for the series only for them to be dashed with this useless episode that has nothing to do with the actual plot… Expand

I'm very divided with this episode. They put together a great story between two people but why did they have to change so much from the game? In the game Frank grew to hate Bill. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. para lo que hablan español, el episodio es malo, pero cautivador, no tiene peso en la trama y la interacción entre Joel, Ellie y Bill es nula, literalmente el final es lo único que importa, es una hora de episodio donde veremos un desarrollo que no llegas a nada y no aporta nada al resto de la serie, es mejor saltarte el episodio y no tendrás una consecuencia grave, solo es un episodio relleno que muestra a una pareja homosexual viviendo hasta que vuelvan viejo, además el no existe ningún conflicto, como en el juego que es basado, la diferencia mas notable es que Frank se largo y dejo una carta en una parte de la ciudad, donde menciona que se llevo la batería, también menciona que lo odiaba por no ir a explorar y temerle prefiriendo quedarse en un lugar seguro (en el juego).
En mi opinión pudo ser mejor hacer un episodio donde Bill conoce a Frank y a medida que abarca el episodio desarrollar los desacuerdo que tenia cada uno derivando el abandono de Frank en lugar donde se acogía Bill y posteriormente el suicido de Frank, pudo ser un episodio que tendría inclusión que nadie se molestaría pero
lamentablemente decidieron crear un episodio malo y sin sentido que si no le tomas importancia y prefieras ignorar lo que pasa realmente en el juego te podría sacar un lagrima por el trágico final, igualmente mi visión es que no es necesario que una serie sea igual que el juego puede usar la misma historia pero cambiando cierta cosas que no afecte a las tramas de la serie en general.
además, tengo otra cosas que aclarar es que Bill fue desperdiciado por crear una historia progre que solo fue diseñada para complacer a una minoría, además que podría apostar todo mi dinero que la gente que nunca pudo jugar a la entrega creerá que la historia de Bill y Frank será la misma en el juego.… Expand

Thing is, that if this was a story about hetrosexual gun loving couple....all the people who have rated this episode 0 would be rating it a 10. Conservatives are the biggest snowflakes...they cannot even handle a fictional story about gun loving gays. Everyone who has rated this episode 0 based on the fact that it shows love between two men....is a weak-minded wimp, who would rather spew their toxic hatred towards the LGBT community then simply going about their lives in peace. Hasta ahora la serie había tenido un inicio trepidante. Por el contrario, este tercer capítulo es un relleno al mas puro anime, me imagino en un futuro una recopilación de "The Last Of Us sin relleno", cosa que no debería ocurrir en una serie de este calibre.

No critico la intención de adentrarnos en la historia de Bill, por qué ocurren las cosas, que pasa por su cabeza, si no la duración que se le ha dado.

Es cierto que en el juego pasan "un poco por encima" y aquí se busca que entendamos todo, pero no puedes dedicar más de 1 hora a ello.

Por la duración, parece que en vez de una serie de supervivencia con infectados estaba viendo una novela romántica y no es la intención con la que se viene a esta serie.… Expand

Why was this episode made, there is literally nothing to the development of the main plot.
Far too much Bill and Frank, whose relationship, nor their manner, has no relevance to Joel and Elie. Especially in view of such a big change from the game, where in the series by Bill and Frank's suicide, we don't meet them at all in the main plot . And it doesn't hold water for me at all, looking at the origin story of Tess herself, whom we didn't actually get in the series, and she was a much more important character both for the audience and for the two main characters.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you were to take this episode by its self, without any context of the rest of the show, I think it's objectively near perfect. The story it tells is realistic and emotional, the acting is excellent, and might be the best of Nick Offermans career. But who is this episode for? For fans of the game, this episode expands on, and concludes the story for one of the games best characters, Bill, but it also changes the story in a way where the interaction with the main cast of the show is minimalized. It feels less impactful for Joel and Ellie, because Ellie never even met Bill or Frank, and the episode shows that there wasn't really a strong relationship between Bill and Joel. I feel like in this case, it doesn't really strengthen the core material, and doesn't change the story in a more positive manner. If it's for people who haven't played the games, I think this episode may actually be a mistep. The show is already starting to feel rushed as a ~40 hour game story is being condensed into 10 TV episodes. In the first episode we meet and lose Sarah, in the second episode we lose Tess, and the expectation that in this short amount of time we are supposed to emphasize with what Joel is going through is already a huge ask. Now in the 3rd episode we meet and lose Bill and Frank, who are tangential to the story at best. I wish I could give this episode two different ratings, because as a standalone episode it's probably a 10/10 and should win awards. As part of a series though, I feel like it does a pretty poor job of adding to the overall story.… Expand

And they even die in the episode , so wont be seen again lol The game version of one of the characters that died ( Bill) is made to be a Pancy instead of the bad ass he is supposed to be.
In the game Bill was so in love with Frank but Frank couldn't stand him and decided to end his life , later when his body was found they also found a letter from Frank saying how much he dislikes Bill and his ways just amazing story telling. Also had the main characters engage in great banter with Bill. This episode is total trash.
Would of gave this a 2 but as so many are review praising this I had to give it a 0… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will keep this review short simply because my other review was removed without any good reason despite it being safe for work. I have 3 main problems with this episode, Rushed character building, Bad pacing, and the relevance to the main plot. Let's start with rushed character building. Bill lets a complete stranger into his house. This part isn't what's unbelievable because the man had no weapons, and Bill probably get's lonely being by himself 24/7. I actually liked the Kitchen scene because it gives us a decent amount of character depth to Bill, seeing him trust other people slowly and seeing how he thinks was good, and a part of the episode I wish stayed consistent. However, the next scene seemingly makes the previous attempt at character building meaningless by making Frank, a complete stranger to Bill start making out with him after they literally just met. There is no way to say that this is anywhere close to realistic, and the show should have spent more time making the romance realistic rather than rushing it in the span of a short amount of time. This leads to me my next issue, which is the relevance towards the actual plot of the main story. If Bill and Frank literally have no other relevance other than just their gay love story, shouldn't we have just skipped to when Joel and Ellie got to their place and them reading the letter. Because that would have saved more time, and would have been more respectful to the audiences time when they find out that the episode they just watched was basically a gay romance film. And I don't even think all of it was completely terrible, but this isn't "The Last of Them" This is "The Last of Us". So honestly, I wasn't looking for them to cut everything from their lives, but come on, their whole life story in the span of one episode when they just die later on? That's pointless, and was quite literally a waste of time to the main plot goal, which is getting Ellie to the fireflies to make a cure. The last thing is pacing. I think that the pacing overall could have been a lot better than it was in this episode. There just wasn't a whole lot happening to begin with. Sure raiders came, but there wasn't any sense of real danger because in the end they both survive it anyways. It just has a failed attempt of building actual tension throughout the episode, something that a show like The Last of Us needs this seeing how it's a, "Drama, Action & Adventure, Suspense, Science Fiction" show. Lastly, I just want to point out that a lot of people that critique this episode are on the belief that it's just propaganda and the liberals are pushing an agenda. And honestly, I think that's bull **** Whether or not they're "pushing an agenda" doesn't mean anything to me. Agenda or not, you should still critique the episode for what it is. And to me it was that the episode overall was pointless, boring, and forgettable.… Expand

Es la única palabra que tengo para describir este capítulo, no aporta absolutamente nada a la historia de los personajes principales que, además, difiere bastante del material original del videojuego para no llevar a nada. No es un mal episodio, su historia es buena y la forma de retratar a los personajes también, pero no tiene un impacto en la historia y parece que está ahí de relleno.
No es nada de lo que esperaba y me parece una completa perdida de tiempo.… Expand

Infelizmente saiu muito da história original. Faltou ação e sobrou drama. Definitivamente, The Last of Us não é o que foi apresentado nesse episódio.

Čakal som všetko, aj to, že je dosť možné, keď som dávnejšie predpovedal, že tu budeme mať celú epizódu venovanú práve tejto nepodstatnej bezvýznamnej postavičke z hry. Keď opomeniem fakt, že to celé nedáva absolútne žiadny zmysel zo všeobecného hľadiska, hlavne tá opätovná nezmyselná zmena kánonu a loru hry, lebo však všetci dobre vieme, že sa jedná o "mimoriadne vernú adaptáciu", tak treba určite aj spomenúť fakt, že Bill mal fakt perfektne načechrané háro a umelecky nastrihanú a nafarbenú bradu.

To že bol v seriály vykreslených ako nejaký bojazlivý, úchylný a nesmelý latentný homosexuál oproti hernej predlohe kde bol rázny, autoritatívny a dôsledný a až na konci sme sa dozvedeli, že mal asi nejaký nepodstatný vzťah z nejakým týpkom menom Frank. Ale viacej v recenzii

Postava Billa ale hlavne to prostredie, ktoré sa v hre v cca jednej štvrtine hry nazýva Billovo mesto bolo tak neskutočne parádne vykreslené a spravené, že tú celú časť z hry s Billom považujem za vôbec najlepšiu pasáž z celej hry. Čo sa ale udialo s Billovým mestom v seriály a ako sa z Billa, teda suverénneho nekompromisného survivalistu, stala jedna urevaná homosexuálna troska je teda na zaplakanie. Ak seriál bude pokračovať v tomto duchu a my sa v podstate nedočkáme dokopy ničoho zaujímavého z hry, teda ani jednej pasáže, kde sa stretla skupinka Joela a ellie s bandou lovcov, nájazdníkov alebo vojakov či väčšou skupinkou infikovaných, tak o čom je v potom tento seriál. Lacná propaganda,

Prvé tri časti seriálu naznačujú veľmi nepriaznivý trend, kde sa v podstate poriadnej akčnej scény, alebo prestrelky asi ani nikdy nedočkáme. Pripadá mi to ako meme s hrou o latríny kde sme stále čakali na drakov. Nielenže je to smutné, ale v porovnaní s originálom, teda hernou predlohou mal Joel na pažbe revolvera už takmer zo sto zárezov.

Ale vrátme sa ku tretej epizóde, ktorá nenesie vôbec príznačný názov Long Long Time, teda dlhý dlhý čas v doslovnom preklade kde sa v retrospektíve behom takmer celých 20 rokov od apokalypsy budeme takmer hodinu a a pol (rovnakú časovú stopu má aj úvodná epizóda) pozerať na dvojicu chlpatých homošov ako si radostne nažívajú v uzavretej ohradenej komunite úplne samy. Zažívajú klasické homosexuálne trampoty ako časté hádky a kto bude akú rolu v postely pod perinkou hrať. Idilická scénka ako vystrihnutá priamo zo šialenej mysle Neila Druckmana, kde si obdobnú pasáž nechal vyobraziť v hre TLOU part 2 na takmer úplny záver hry ale v opačnom garde kde dvojicu homosexuálov hrali dve ženy s deckom a hospodárstvom v podobe hydiny a ovečiek. Práve tu mi to nedávalo zmysel, kde tie dve ženy boli sebestačné v podobe domáceho hospodárstva tak u Billa a Franka som si všimol, že pestoval len zhnité ovisnuté mrkvičky. Odkiaľ mal jahnacinu Bill, búh ví, asi sa vrádal na ranč Ellie a Diňe.

Okrem mrkvičiek potajomky Frank pestoval aj jahôdky, ktoré potom ako prekvapenie ukázal Billovi a ten bol z toho taký rozľútostený že ten večer hral v postely submisívnu prostitútku. Neskutočne mi imponovalo Billove plavé, krásne načechrané háro a dokonalo nafarbenná a načesaná brada. Rovnako ma vyslovene hecovala Frankov chupatý hrudník, bola to vyslovene slasť sledovať ako sa dva mužské chupaté telá obtierajú o seba v posteli a ako sa oddávajú orálnej rozkoši. Veľmi cinematicky pôsobila aj pasáž kde sa rozhodli obaja chupatý chaloši zosobášiť sa v ten istí deň ako sa spoločne ako Rómeo o Julián potom následne otrávia a zgegnú spolu obaja v náručí jeden druhého a tým v podstate aj končí príbeh , ktorý je nielenže totálne odlišný od kánonu a loru hry, ale dokonca sa mi zdá, že je to akási násilná vsuvka pre minoritných divákov.

Celý tento zbytočný diel nielenže przní herný lore do takej nechutnej miery, až mi je z toho na zvracanie. Ale keby to bolo aspoň dobre natočené, no ono sa v podstate hodinu a pol kukám na partiu dvoch chupatých chalošov, čo si radi v posteli navzájom preblafujú vtákov a radi pestujú jahôdky a žerú jahňacinu.Čo viac dodať ku tomuto cinematickému skvostu pre úchylákov od úchylákov? Snáď len to, že sa strýček Neil dostatočne ‘vyřádil“ a minimálne do druhej série sa už nedočkáme žiadnych ďalších homoeroticky násilných scén. Teda možno sa dočkáme, ešte keď budeme mať určite celú jednu epizódu venovanej láske medzi čiernou Riley a Ellie. Uvidíme kam je strýček Neil až schopný zájsť v jeho úychlných homoerotických predstavách. Záverečné hodnotenie 0.5/10. Bill, Drei wetter taft.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The third episode could literally not exist and the main story would be fine. I saw a lot of reviews before watching it and I thought it was just people complaining that Bill was gay. Come to find out, they take the time to do a full back story and episode on Bill, someone we end up not needing to know anything about since he doesnt exist in the current time of the story. In the game, they make Bill a character, interacting with Joel and Elle. There was a PURPOSE to him existing in the game. Here, its just to show a romance sequence that literally doesnt matter.

The writers act like they can give us a good second episode and then beat us in the face with pointless interactions for the entire third episode. We have ZERO reason to care about either of these guys since they get introduced at the beginning of episode 3 and die before the end.

Its called bad writing when you could just delete an episode from a show with a story like The Last of Us and it just moves forward like nothing was missing.

I enjoyed Bills character in the game but here, I feel like I was robbed of potential exciting and memorable content that could be taken into episode 4.

Easy solution....KEEP BILL ALIVE, cut the flash back by 5-10 minutes, and show Bill helping Joel and Elle. Let him become more of a hermit and eccentric, like he was in the game. I would be been more than fine with Episode 3 if Bill would have just lived. I could have cared about the person he became because I knew what he went through at the same time he still did what he did originally.… Expand
